  5. what i am going to say will make some here mad.  before you buy a home system, any system, i would check on the respond time of the police.  if it take 20 minutes before they show up then you are wasting your money.  if it takes 5 minutes, you are still wasting your money.  does the alarm company call you first to see if you did not set the alarm off before calling the police?  if so more time more time wasted.   it take less than 5 minutes to steal you blind. the bad guys know how much time they have before the police arrive and they will be in and out with your stuff long before the police show up.  so you lose in two way, the stuff the bad guys steal and the money the alarm companies stead.  the only thing that i have seen that will work in today world is a big dog.  a big barking, mean looking dog inside your house has shown to stop more bad guys than the alarm company sign in the front yard.

  6. A DEA Agent stopped at a ranch in Texas and talked to an old rancher. He told the rancher, "I need to inspect your ranch for illegally grown drugs." The rancher... said, "okay, but don't go into that field over there...", as he pointed out the location. The DEA Agent verbally exploded and said, "look mister, I have the authority of the federal government with me!" Reaching into his rear back pocket, the arrogant officer removed his badge and proudly displayed it to the rancher. "See this badge?! This badge means I can go wherever I want... On any land! No questions asked, no answers given! Do you understand old man?!" The rancher kindly nodded, apologized, and went about his chores. Moments later the rancher heard loud screams, he looked up and saw the DEA agent running for his life, being chased by the ranchers big Santa Gertrudis Bull...... With every step the bull was gaining ground on the officer, and it was likely that he'd sure enough get gored before he reached safety. The officer was clearly terrified. The old rancher threw down his tools, ran as fast as he could to the fence, and yelled at the top of his lungs......       "YOUR BADGE! SHOW HIM YOUR BADGE!"

Oh, wait, and now Glen Beck endorses them too... wonder how much that cost them? Maybe they're paying him in .22LR bricks?? No thanks. Have a nice life, CTD. You won't ever have to worry about filling an order for me ever again. Ever.   Wow. CTD pi$$es me off so much that even my non-sequitur rant has non-sequiturs.

  10. Stopped in to see if ammo had came in but it had not. But they had 3 boxes of 7.62x51 at $19.99 per box so I got one. Went back to the gun counter and they received a truck but hadn't opened anything. So I hung out for about 30 minutes while he went through them to see if they had any Ruger 10-22's. I've been wanting one for my daughter and always miss the shipments. Sure enough!!! $199 with wood stock, which is what she wanted. Can't wait to surprise her tonight!!

  12. We have bigger problems than worrying about a “Police State”. Illegals are being given amnesty, letting them vote is next, drugs are being legalized, patriots are few and far between, moral decay is accepted. Many people will be wanting/needing more Police in the very near future.

  13. He is alive Indeed!  I was dead because of my sins and because my sinful nature was not yet cut away.  Then God made me alive with Christ and forgave all my sins. He cancelled the record of the charges against me and took it away by nailing it upon the cross.  Death is swallowed up in victory, O death, where is your victory? O death where is your sting?  His Grace, through the power of Christ over the cross has made me alive, indeed.

Excellent defense AR  People dislike Palin like we dislike KingNothing but it's very illogical to me to think Palin is incompetent and not capable of running a government or doesn't have our country's best interests first. IF we had someone better than McCain in 2008 along with Palin, I'm sure some people would think more positively of her by now. :usa:

  18. And one more thing. If the seller is asking too much for you then make them an offer or tell them but by PM only. Some sellers honestly think it is a fair price but if enough people counter offer with lower prices the seller might come down. But again use a PM if it can be viewed as negative in any way like public ally offering someone 10% of their asking price. If you have nothing positive to say then don't post it. If you absolutely must say something then take it to PM's but be respectful. Name calling, insults or using profanity will be addressed.

  19.   Yeah, and I got hung up on a transfer from PSA for two weeks because their new address didn't match their FFL, so had to wait till they worked that out and got the right one to PSA.   Wasn't that big a deal, was just a lower and didn't much care exactly when I got it.   The address shown on site is now correct, took them a while to get it changed, since it's a graphic and not text.   I also transferred another one about two weeks ago, no probs, so they have all that straightened out. Still willing to pay the $25 and pop over to Alcoa, as they are great folks, call you within minutes of the shipment coming in, always friendly, etc, and except for the one glitch during their move, everything always goes smoothly.   They also have been able to keep a surprisingly good supply of various guns since the panic, and their prices are excellent for the most part, compete with online ones. They're my go-to shop.   - OS

  23. I’m sure our AEGIS class ships are in the area and prepared to knock down whatever NK launches.   The threat of nuclear war is ridiculous. They may well try to launch a nuke, but we don’t need nukes to neutralize NK; and won’t use them.   The problem (and loss of American lives) will come if there is hand wringing on the part of Obama in the event of an act of war.   Have our bombers deliver a few MOAB’s to NK’s top leaders; and it’s over.  You would think after Korea, Vietnam, and Afghanistan our leaders would learn.  Use the technology we have developed and end these threats with extreme prejudice.

  30. I believe this country has already become somewhat of a police state.  No, we don't have secret police kicking down your door to execute you or haul you off to some labor camp because you won't conform to governmental decrees.  However, let's look at what we already have:   1. We have increased militarization of police departments throughout the US.   2. We have proposed gun control measures in numerous states and the federal government.  Don't think for a minute that the AWB losing political steam is a victory for us.  If this was the 2008 House and Senate, Feinstein's bill or something much worse would have passed and would be law.   3. We have more and more people becoming dependent upon the government, which is exactly what they want.  Ask yourself, who is easier to control, the man who needs nothing from the government, or a man who requires government assistance (food stamps, welfare, medicare/medicaid, doesn't pay federal income taxes) in order to get by?   4. We have increased surveillance from UAVs, which soon may be armed.   5. We have the first step, i.e. Obamacare, towards instituting a single payer healthcare system.  What better way to control people than through healthcare.   6. We have unecessary laws (Patriot Act) and agencies like the DHS and TSA.  Who was DHS's number one concern?  It wasn't some jihadi just waiting to have his Allah moment; it was homegrown terrorists, especially former military personnel, and right leaning militias.   7. We have less and less anonymity on the internet with businesses and government tracking what you are doing.   8. We have an EPA that is furthering its stranglehold on businesses and individuals.   9. We have an out of control federal government that will not decrease spending, putting you further in debt.  Then they steal your money and your children's money only to bailout undeserving individuals and corporations.   10. We are seeing a push to change the demographics via immigration (amnesty) which will eventually ensure a single party rule.   I could go on and on with numerous examples.   Granted, this is what at least 50% of the public wants (or at least they think they do).  As long as the average individual has enough money to buy their big screen television, cable, and to go to their favorite restaurant, they will be satiated. I would be willing to wager that if you asked the average Joe which would they rather have, cradle to grave security or complete freedom, they would choose the former.   Anyone who does not think we are becoming a police state is really delusional, or they don't understand what a police state is.  Do I think we will go full blown totalitarianism?  I have no idea, but I will contend that all of the right components are being (or have been) added.  All we need is the right politicians in office and the right catalyst, i.e. financial collapse, domestic terrorism, etc... to set the reaction off, which will quickly turn this nation into something we would have thought improbable.   Just to note, I am not an Alex Jones fan, and I am somewhat allergic to aluminum.  However, I do have eyes, and I can see that what is being set up could possibly have disastrous consequences on our civil liberties and personal freedoms given the right set of circumstances.  Thankfully we still have a few politicians in Washington like Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, and Mike Lee who see the same thing and are fighting against it.  The next couple of elections will decide if this country will be saved or move that much closer to authoritarianism, and eventually crumble like every other empire in history.

  32.       There is no conspiracy here nor is it some super secret Obama black ops mission to shoot every citizen 5 times.   It's a contract of supply 5 YEARS WORTH of ammo to the US government.   When DHS was created just about everyone out side of the ATF, CIA, DEA, FBI, and Secret Service was roll into DHS.  There are at least 50-70k gun carrying Federal Agents from Postal Inspectors, Park Rangers, Border Patrol, NOAA Agents to Indian Tribal Affairs,    1.6 billion / 5 years = 320 Millions rounds PER YEAR.  320 Million Rounds / 60k gun toting agents = 5300ish rounds.  5300 rounds / 4 trips to the range per year = 1300ish rounds.   This does not take into consideration that a lot of ammo is used for training academies plus the amount that each office would "stock pile".    This is as retarded as the Obama is a secret Muslim Bull Shit.  There are plenty of other bull shit things that Obama is doing but being a Muslim and hoarding ammo to kill US Citizens are not one of them.

  33. I understand what you are saying, but at some point one has to be able to decide on what is accurate and what is not. It seems that all too often, the answer is "whatever fits my opinion." Do I believe them to tell the truth? Generally yes, and by "truth" I mean simple facts. Interpretation of those facts is quite a different issue completely. The question is, why would they lie about how many rounds were fired? And who picks the number? If they were simply going to make up random information to ban guns, then why do it that way? Why not say the kid converted a civilian AR style rifle to full-auto, fired hundreds and hundreds of rounds into the victims, and had even converted the Saiga into a full-auto shotgun? Why not dozens and dozens of rifles in his home "arsenal" along with tens of thousands of rounds stockpiled? Might as well throw some bomb-making materials in with it as well. Why say he left rounds in each magazine? Why not that he fired all 30 rounds, but didn't get to use all of his magazines because the heroic police showed up and saved the day? Do you think that a media that can't tell the difference between a semi-auto and machine gun, a bayonet lug and a flash suppressor, or a magazine from a clip would be smart enough to construct a false scenario that involved tactical mag changes and short-loading mags for better reliability (a practice I call BS on anyhow)? The problem is that the BS detectors out there are set way too high, so all they get are a bunch of false positives. If all one ever does is specifically seeks out BS, then they are guaranteed to find it somewhere. That's the reason for my point about a single early news report that says no rifle was used. Any other time, folks would be chalking that up as just another case of the media jumping the gun to get their story out there first. However, here, that single news story is being held up as absolute truth and evidence of a fleecing by the government because all other stories since, and official law enforcement reports say the opposite. It's not that the early news story was inaccurate, it's that everyone else is lying. Let's change your BS detector to a metal detector and say you are looking for buried treasure on a beach that some guy on TV said was buried there. You are so certain that there is treasure on that beach, you set the sensitivity of your metal detector as high as it will go so you don't miss a single gold coin buried in the sand. So off to the beach you go with your metal detector set on high and when you get there, you start looking right where you "know" the treasure had to be buried because that's where you would have buried it. Of course you get a hit, dig a hole, and find an old can. In your mind, you say that is proof treasure exists because people who bury treasure use cans too. Then you run to the next spot you think is a good hiding place and do the same thing. Then it's off to the next spot, and the next, and no matter where you look you get a hit from your metal detector, but all you find are old bits of metal and the occasional old penny (surely the people who buried the treasure there *must* have put some coins out there to throw you off their trail). After days of this, you've run all over the beach, collected a nice pile of useless junk, and no treasure. What you fail to realize is that there is no treasure and the story was created by some hack who uses the story to dupe people into buying metal detectors, and you see your useless junk as a pile of evidence that treasure exists. All the while, you miss the gold Rolex that someone dropped near the waterline while they were out sunbathing. That's the same thing you get when the BS detector is set way too high. You waste time and energy chasing down ghosts while you miss the important stuff.

  36. Atlanta is the problem, not their water supply. A city just cant outgrow their resources. They had no water plan in place from the beginning and still don't. All they have is an insatiable appetite for growth. During the drought of 2007, they tried to force the Corp of Engineers to stop taking water from lake Lanier that is used by parts of Alabama and Florida. They wanted to hand their problem to somebody else so their party could continue. Same with this plan to take water from the Tennessee River. They want water and don't give a crap how it will affect others.

  44. Start now.  Scout the area.  Learn what deer are there and what they do.  Spend as much time as possible on the land you are hunting until you know it like the back of your hand.  Find a good place to build a stand or blind.  Personally I prefer blinds.  I'll hunt out of stands but I've probably killed more deer from the ground than from a tree.  Keep an eye out for pattern changes but keep in mind that deer need food and water, find where they are bedding and find where they funnel towards food and water, this is an ideal place for your stand.  Don't worry about buying fancy hunting accessories.  Buy good boots and a good knife instead.  You don't need all of the latest calls and scents, they are mostly a waste of money.  Camoflauge is not necessary, just make sure you are comfortable.  .243 or 30-06 either will work fine.  You will kill more deer if you learn the land and learn the deer, and just spend time in the woods (learning to sit still will not hurt either) than you will buying all the latest gadgets.  Deer hunting is neither hard, expensive, or complicated but the support industry has made it seem that way.
