  2. Great shoot, weather was awesome. I actually remembered to take videos. I got a little bit of everything from my squad, the best we got was from King. What a run he had, he really burned it up! I'll post more video's later but you have to see King do it in style! Thanks again Robert for hosting another great match at Gallatin Gun Club! And thanks to the S.O.'s for keeping us honest... 7. Folks, to make it clear, this vid is by Mark Dice, a conservative if not bordering on looney right wing author and pundit who has done a number of "petitions", like this one, or to repeal the 1st Amendment, etc, just to point out folks' idiocy. He even got any number to folks to sign a "I Am a Moron" petition once, just to show that some folks will sign anything without even understanding it.   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Dice   http://markdice.com/   http://www.youtube.com/user/MarkDice   - OS

  11. Saw this on Facebook. Pretty awesome.     Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez, 23, and Enrico Garza, 26, probably believed they would easily overpower home-alone 11-year-old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two-story home. It seems the two crooks never learned two things: they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay-shooting champion since she was nine.Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father's room and grabbed his 12-gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun. Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buckshot from the 11-year-old's knee-crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals. When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the ...street... where he bled to death before medical help could arrive. It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45-caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. That victim, 50-year-old David 0'Burien, was not so lucky. He died from stab wounds to the chest.Ever wonder why good stuff never makes NBC, CBS, PBS, MSNBC, CNN, or ABC news........?

  14.   This is a huge part of the ammo problem. The gun show sellers, the Gunbroker sellers that jack the prices up AND the people that pay the ridicules prices. People sell on here for the same prices sometimes too, I've noticed. The sellers don't care about what damage they do. I'd bet a lot of them don't even shoot. They've just found an item and a group of weak people they can make a bunch of money off of.  Justified by the old "if I don't do it somebody else will" attitude, they are out for themselves with no regard for future damage they may do to prices. You can call them capitalists or whatever, but I and my shooting friends have other names we use.  Buying from retailers, and then jacking the prices 2 or 3 times is just wrong....it breaks the normal chain of supply to the end user. But, it's the freak'n buyers I can't figure out. If they would just stop buying from the jerks, be patient and keep an eye out you can find ammo at normal prices and end the price gouging.  Nothing I can do about it but not participate, which I do not, I'm not paying those prices. Eventually, I suppose things will return to a more normal atmosphere, but we all know prices will never drop back to the pre Sandy Hook prices. I remember before the last shortage after Obama got elected, I was buying 22LR Remington 550 bricks for around $8. When the supply came back, the price was around $17.  I predict the new "normal" price to be bumping $30 a brick when supply returns....we'll see eventually maybe if people stop buying from the gougers.

  15. I support all U.S. gun manufacturers and will continue to do so. Remington can’t up and move a manufacturing facility without substantially increasing costs to us. It could bankrupt them.   This is just another way for the gun haters to turn us against each other… don’t fall for it.

  16.   Which is what will happen now.   This closure vote Will FORCE the Dems to speak against the 2A and the Bill of Rights.  Those Dems in Red states that face re-election in 2014 will be on the record in these debates.   This could be a major factor in the GOP taking back the Senate in 2014.  Dem Senators speaking against the 2A and then getting voted out in 2014.   With a GOP majority in the Senate & House, Obama becomes a Total and Complete Lame Duck for his last two years!   Make Obama powerless - - - That is how to defend the Constitution!

  18. My letter to the two:   It has come to my attention that you recently voted in favor of gun control.  As a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and believer in upholding the Constitution of the United States of America, I find your action to be embarrassing.  I feel ashamed that you represent my state of Tennessee and do not possess the will nor judgment to uphold that which my state holds dear, the Constitution.   When I see senators like Ted Cruz and Rand Paul standing up for the people they represent, I am ashamed that my own senators do not support them.  You decisions and actions will not be unnoticed, and you will no longer have my support nor vote in the future as I can no longer trust you to make the right decisions and stand up for what is right.

  21. How hard would it have been to do that same expansion in Kentucky and Arkansas, instead of NY?  I bet it would have not only been easier, but also cheaper!  No ,Remington sold us down the river for a dollar.  So no more money from me.  Obviously, they don't need it anymore.  They got their big shiny contract from the Government.  We didn't turn on Remington, they turned on us.

  25. I respectfully disagree. I've been volunteering with state and local elections for years and these assholes just don't seem to grasp reality. They lie their asses off and promise the world but do whatever it is they want once they are elected. Is the Republican ideas better suited to me than the demonrats? Of course it is. But voting Libertarian is more in line with what I believe. I think it might be easier to influence someone in that party than the statist morons that are in charge of the Republican party. Stick around and see what you can do with them if you want...it's your right. Me personally...I've had enough.

  26. How is Remington selling out your rights? They are our brothers in this fight. They are also victims of out of control legislation. If they hadn’t taken the contract (one that any manufacturer anywhere in the world would be all over), it’s possible our manufacturing base would take another hit from foreign manufacturing.   Comparing a 1200 person heavy manufacturing to facility to somewhere like Magpul that contracts out the heavy lifting isn’t fair. They can’t just up and move.   If you kill off all the American gun manufacturers the government can then ban foreign imports…. Game over.   I support Remington, Smith & Wesson, Ruger, and all the other American manufacturers and want them to know that most of us support them in their struggles against the anti-gunners. I am disappointed that on a U.S. gun forum I have to use the word “most”; I should be able to use the word “all”.

  27. Hi Brad.  Welcome to Tennessee and this forum.  ORSA is the place to join, great facilities and great people at a cheap price.  Prag listed all the pertinent links.  We do shoot IDPA on the 1st Saturday of each month, cowboys shoot on the second Saturday, USPSA on the third Saturday, 3-gun the Sunday after USPSA, and steel challenge is on the 4th Saturday.  Come on out to the USPSA match on 20 April, I will be glad to show you around.  If that does not work, I could meet you out there another time.

  33. A couple of days ago Senator Manchin said this:  â€œNobody here in this great Capitol of ours with a good conscience could sit by and not try to prevent a day like that from happening again,” said Manchin of the Newtown shooting. “I think that’s what we’re doing.”   http://www.politico.com/story/2013/04/gun-background-checks-deal-89856.html Therein lies my biggest concern with this bill.  There are those who say let 'em have this small victory and then they'll leave us alone......right.  When the next tragedy occurs, and it will, then they'll say..."if we had only done a little bit more....we just didn't go far enough!"   Only a practiced politician could state with a straight face that a bill expanding background checks would have prevented Newtown, when Adam Lanza's mother passed a background check to buy the firearms he stole to commit those murders.  And of course we have a largely dishonest media spouting lies and half-truths to steer a lazy, brain-dead populace too disinterested to do their own homework on an issue, lest they miss whatever mind-numbing reality TV happens to be on.

  37. Contact the Governor for his support.   Today, important progress was made in the Tennessee General Assembly in order to protect the privacy of all Handgun Carry Permit (HCP) holders when the state House concurred with the state Senate’s technical amendment to House Bill 9. This critical confidentiality protection legislation now goes to Governor Bill Haslam for approval. Please contact Governor Haslam today and ask him to sign House Bill 9 into law. House Bill 9/Senate Bill 108 would make all information pertaining to HCP holders confidential and not open for public inspection or publication. The overwhelming support for this legislation was demonstrated by its 84-10 passage in the House and 27-2 passage in the Senate. We thank the bill sponsors, state Representative William Lamberth (R-44) and state Senator Ferrell Haile (R-18), for their hard work and dedication to this legislation. The NRA also thanks state legislators who voted in favor of protecting the information of all HCP holders and providing Tennesseans the same protections that residents in 38 other states already enjoy due to Right-to-Carry confidentiality laws in place. Recently in New York, information of those who possess pistol permits was published and their home addresses were a placed on an interactive map. Unfortunately, reports indicate that multiple burglaries and the theft of firearms occurred from those residencies. If HB 9 is enacted into law, it would ensure this invasion of privacy would never happen in Tennessee.     Governor Bill Haslam (615) 741-2001 bill.haslam@tn.gov

  38. I've been to a couple of the shows at Dickson. Usually a pretty big crowd but not many vendors. A lot of junk for sale but not many guns in the past. Tables full of flea market crap for the most part. I live about 15 minutes from the fairgrounds and don't plan on going. I'd rather drive an hour to either guns & leather location and look around. Better deals and don't have to pay for admission.. Just my two cents.

  39. Either way, it seems to be far too easy for the state to take your HCP for what I think are BS reasons. But, I guess that's how the government operates.   It's no big deal until it happens to you. One small slip up on your part, and BAM!, there they are to pounce. I have a feeling that Yeager would have seen a different outcome had he not had the money for a good attorney.    I'm not willing to be as openly vocal on the internet about certain things, so I'd like to think I wouldn't find myself in a situation similar to Yeager, David Sarti, or even Kwik. But on the off chance the wrong person misconstrues something I've said, I'd hate to think my HCP and right to bear arms could so easily be stripped away. Unlike Yeager, I probably don't have the money or worldly possessions to afford a good attorney.    While we're sitting here thinking that they deserved it because they said some crazy things, just remember, the line between sane and crazy is drawn with an extremely broad brush, and they don't appear to have a problem with moving that line altogether when they see fit.

  40. Just a suggestion for the powers that be on this, I think it would be cool if we could actually include TGO as part of the serial# Maybe something like like "1TGO*****" the 1 standing for first run. I'm sure there will be more if this is a success and it would be cool to have the whole set. Also I'd probably pay a little more to have my user name engraved somewhere on there. Then these can take the place of the challenge coins that we were talking about awhile back.

  41. What credible threat?  Clearly TDOS loss that point in court... Nobody on this forum has made the argument that he made a direct threat or really posed a serious threat to the public.  I'm personally not a Yeager fan, but it's clear TDOS over reached, yet nobody has to pay for that overreach.   I know nobody wants to hold "public servants" accountable on here... but we should.  And in cases like this that accountability should be steep.

  42.   Damn, you're good :). Fact is though, if we don't police ourselves, somebody else will. CNN drew that blood fair and square. They SHOULD have to answer to the ATF, though. I wonder if anybody has called it to their attention. They bought guns illegally and transported them across state lines.

  43.   This is going to sound a bit odd, maybe. But here goes. The population rate in the U.S. among those of us that are productive members of society has drastically fallen since WWII. The population rate of those that are NOT productive members of society, or those that do not espouse our ideals has increased somewhat in that same time. Our overall fertility rate is lower than the standard sustaining replacement rate. What this kind of tells me is that since we are experiencing an overall population growth, that growth comes from segments of our overall society that are not strongly linked to our constitutional viewpoint. Immigration rates far surpass those of reproduction, and the major reproductive contributors within our nation seem to be the ones being subsidized by the government. Those of us work for a living seem to have 'learned' to reproduce fewer offspring because of the lower 'need' for offspring and the higher 'cost' of offspring. All of this has shifted as we have become less agrarian and more urban/industrial. It's only going to get worse as we further shift from a production economy to a service economy. Since WWII the 'New Deal' and subsequent 'social leveling' initiatives have really served to create a 'class' within society that insures perpetuity of socialistic ideals. It is simply a game of numbers and attrition that is fueled by larger government (greed, hubris), and a larger segment of society that are basically subsidized sheep. It seems to me that we are on the natural course to our nadir that great societies of the past have experienced. We may be able to delay the inevitable, but we may already be past the point of no return.  I think we may be seeing the beginning of the end where we really are overtaken from within.  I don't see how we have the leverage or the position to reverse and restore.  We don't have the numbers advantage anymore, nor the access to the power and resources required for peaceful change.

  45. Let this be a lesson to all those who think the government should be responsible for providing healthcare to the public.  That opens the door to just about anything that they can twist into being detrimental to your or anyone else's health.  This does not even scratch the surface of things that can be mandated or regulated if you think the government should be responsible for your health.    Just another argument in support of the statement, "Big government equals less freedom."  I personally do not find this surprising from the state that thinks it's both acceptable and  curative to regulate the size of the soft drink a person can buy.

  46. Reminds me of when I was a kid in highschool. You would have that one kid that wouldn't ever swing, but be would pump fake over an over hoping to get you to swing so he could cry foul.   That is what DPRK is doing. Pretending to go through with it to make the US rain fire on all they hold dear. Then they will start crying wanting to know why we attacked them.       Personally, I think it is time we remind the world that there is only one nation that has ever used nuclear weapons anger. With an example. I am pretty sure Iran would STFU too.
