  1. We just got back from a trip to FL and had a great time, minus those damn toll roads every 15 feet.  Anyways, flew into Orlando and took a week driving down to Key West.  Coming back yesterday we had the best flight attendant that exists, he didn't fit the stereotype at all; a bit overweight, about 4 inches too tall for the plane and maybe late 40's to early 50's.  Anyways, he started in on the normal welcome aboard thing and the rest went something like this:   ----------------------- Ladies and gentlemen, I found a brown wallet here with some money in it, if you could look this way and ID it... ok thanks, now that I've got your attention we need to cover some safety things.   blah blah blah   We'll be flying over water so in the event our flight turns into a cruise and the pilot into our skipper, use your seat cushion as a flotation device and do not grab on to me because I can't swim.   blah blah blah   The masks will drop down automatically, put yours on first then help the people around you.  This happens fast, so if you're traveling with more than one child, decide now on who has a better chance at being successful in life   blah blah blah   There's a newly renovated smoking area in the plane, it's out on the right wing.  If you do make it out there alive, the movie playing is gone with the wind and there's a full service salt water bath waiting for you upon landing.   blah blah blah   Thanks for choosing us, my mortgage company thanks you, my coworkers thank you and again welcome aboard Southwest Airlines where we like you, but like your money more. -----------------------   Guy went on for about 20 minutes and it was the only time I've ever listened to the entire thing... He had the whole plane rolling, wish I would've taped it cause it would've went viral for sure.

  3. I spent some time in the forge today, Ill be there all week getting ready for the upcoming gunshow. I made two small edc fixed blades. These were designed to be small utility knives, and if push comes to shove, work as self defense shivs. Both are made from 1095 Nichlson files. #1 2.75" blade, 5.5" overall. Flat ground, hand forged. Razor sharp edge, paracord wrapped handle ] #2 2.5" blade, 5.25" overall. Flat ground, hand forged. Razor sharp, paracord wrapped handle Then I decided to do something a little different. I didn't know if I was gonna like this or not. It has some hard angles, but I think I definitely like it. 5160 steel, hand forged. Flat ground. 6.5" blade, 11.25" overall. 5/16th thick. Paracord wrapped handle

  4. If you are filled full of hate for Obama and anything to do with the government it’s pretty easy to believe anything. Government buying up all the guns and ammo, Obama building a private Police Force, whatever. It’s laughable. I would suggest that those that believe some of this non-sense must have their heads in the sand because the rest of us have our eyes open and have the ability to research this stuff instead of listening to Alex Jones. I can buy guns and I can buy ammo in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The people that are buying up all the ammo and reselling it are making it harder for me to find ammo at legitimate prices; but I don’t think they work for Obama.

  10. Here, this explains everything; Proud to be White ! I have been wondering about why Whites are racists, And no other race is...... Proud to be White ... Michael Richards makes his point... Michael Richards better known as Kramer From TVs Seinfeld does make a good point. This was his defense speech in court After making racial comments in his comedy act. He makes some very interesting points... Someone finally said it. How many are actually paying attention to this?   There are African Americans, Mexican Americans, Asian Americans, Arab Americans, etc. And then there are just Americans.. You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction. You call me 'White boy,' 'Cracker,' 'Honkey,' 'Whitey,' 'Caveman'... And that's OK... But when I call you, Nigger, Kike, Towel head, Sand-nigger, Camel Jockey, Beaner, Gook, or Chink .. You call me a racist.   You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you.... So why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?   You have the United Negro College Fund. You have Martin Luther King Day. You have Black History Month. You have Cesar Chavez Day. You have Yom Hashoah. You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi. You have the NAACP. You have BET.... If we had WET (White Entertainment Television), We'd be racists. If we had a White Pride Day, You would call us racists. If we had White History Month, We'd be racists. If we had any organization for only whites to 'advance' OUR lives, we'd be racists.   We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber of Commerce, And then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce. Wonder who pays for that??   A white woman could not be in the Miss Black American pageant, But any color can be in the Miss America pageant. If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships... You know we'd be racists. There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges in the US .. Yet if there were 'White colleges', That would be a racist college.   In the Million Man March, You believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights, You would call us racists. You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, And you're not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride, You call us racists. You rob us, car jack us, and shoot at us. But, When a white police officer shoots a black gang member Or beats up a black drug dealer running from the law And posing a threat to society, you call him a racist. I am proud...... But you call me a racist. Why is it that only whites can be racists?? There is nothing improper about this e-mail.. Let's see which of you are proud enough to send it on. I sadly don't think many will. That's why we have LOST most of OUR RIGHTS In this country. We won't stand up for ourselves! BE PROUD TO BE WHITE! It's not a crime YET.... But getting very close!   DaveS

  14. I think that this desn't pass the logic test.  For starters we have to consider that the 1.6 billion rounds is spread out over a period of several years.    Lake city alone manufactures over 1.4 billion rounds a year themselves even prior to the ammo madness.  The U.S. ammunition market is huge.  Even taking the lowest numbers of US produced ammunition and assuming all 1.6 billion rounds ordered are supplied in one year it is still around 10 percent of the total  ammunition market.   The last estimate i saw with all factories running full steam ahead is roughly 1 billion rounds a week total in which case the DHS purchase would be around 3 percent of the total market.   Even if it was done with the intention of limiting supply the most the could hope for would to be to limit the supply over the short term.  AS with anything in capitalism demand will drive the market to produce more.  So even if the government created a false shortage eventually that shortage would be overcome by additional manufacturing.    I think given that Americans were buying up roughly 1 gun every 1.5 seconds has more to do with the ammunition shortage.  That's nearly 395,000 new guns sold in the US in the last 12 months.  All these guns require ammunition along with every other gun we own.  we are creating our own ammunition shortage.  The manufacturers know it and are putting out rounds as fast as they can.  Some may even be considering using this as their opportunity to expand while others are probably reluctant to do so because eventually the ammo bubble must pop.

  17. I haven't seen too much glamorization of drug use or production in BB. In fact unless you consider the depiction of the lucrative nature of the distribution business as glamorous, the show is decidedly unglamorous in its storyline. The show has depicted the fall of, if not a good man, at least a decent man into a monster.

  20.   There is a difference between believing in Christ, even truly believing in Him (whatever that means), and recognizing and accepting Christ as one's savior.  I don't want to turn this into a theology debate as this is not the proper forum, but there is a lot more to than just believing in Christ.

Yeah, the first time he got skunked, a year ago, I used the Peroxide mixture and I expected it to have made him a platinum blonde, I couldn't tell the difference in his coat color, but I'm color blind and don't see shades very well.   It did make his skin all dried out and I had to use some kind of pet lotion on him.     I forgot to mention in my OP, that he is a Dachshund. So, the long story short is: I was looking for some love, but what I got instead was a small, stinky, wiener.   :stunned:   Yeah, we got a million wiener jokes in my house.

  33. Half of the members there are likely from various 3-letter agencies. Not that I have a problem with a civilian organization in the event of something happening that would require such an organization to exist, the problem is that it will get attention you don't want and many of the people (at least ones that I have met) who are in such organizations have such extremist views that the real purpose for having the organization is lost. I would love to be in a citizen militia that conducted regular training for the purpose of homeland defense, and would aid during natural disasters as well as volunteer itself in the community for various good causes. Unfortunately, folks I have met who are in these types of groups predominantly share extremist views such as white supremacy, violent overthrow of the US government, criminal activity and sympathy toward terrorist attacks against the government and civilians (such as the Oklahoma City bombing). This is the reason most folks like myself will never be part of such a community.

  37. I’m sure I hate Obama as much or more than you. But there is plenty of stuff to accuse him of without making stuff up. It makes him appear to be right and the accusers to look like fools when it is proven wrong.   The gun issue got Americans to take their eye off the ball; Obama wants to keep it going. Obama was going to help the economy and create jobs; he has done neither. But it is what it is; he can’t be reelected. We need to be focused on who is running next and how we will get our people to vote. I suspect that as in the last two elections we will be split while those living off the government are united.   BTW.. I didn’t say Murfreesboro was the epicenter of ammo; but I can get it if I don’t care what I pay. I’m sure I could get any components you want if price is no object; as I’m sure you could also.

  38. The article I read said they were garnishing her wages. At any rate, for the rest of her life, every dime she makes, she will have to remember what she did and what she owes. I like the idea that this guys would forgive the 1/2 million she owes if she would just admit that she fabricated the whole thing. I'm willing to bet that when that offer went out all the race baiters jumped in to say they'll cover some of the tab; they couldn't bear the embarrassment of the truth coming to light. Of course, it wouldn't matter since no main stream media outlet would report it anyway.

  40.   So?  Tawana Brawley's "rape" was reported by every news agency in the country and was later found to be a hoax for which she owes half a million dollars in restitution.  I don't care how many "news" agencies report something, it doesn't make it true.    The only thing that is fact is that this event was reported by someone who has a motive for revenge on these officers.  It very well could have happened, but my BS meter is detecting high levels.

  42. I think it would be very difficult to spray someones pizza on a traffic stop without the people in the vehicle noticing.  Some of the spray is going to get into the air and there is a distinct smell and feeling to just being in the area of OC spray.  OC is also a pressurized canister and makes a sound when dispensed like any other aerosol can.      If the kid was out of the car i'd say its possible, if he was in the car at the time i dont think it could have been done without the teen noticing.

  47. Carrying a loaded firearm in TN is always intent to go armed, simple as that, and TN law makes little distinction between having it on your person or within your vehicle.   An unloaded firearm with ammunition readily accessible/in immediate vicinity is same as loaded.   A loaded weapon in locked container is still obviously a loaded weapon and there is no exception for simply having it in a locked container.   There is an exception for picking up and dropping off passengers on school property, you may posses the firearm in whatever way you could legally possess it anywhere else.   Also, the new parking lot law exception is another exception, if in your own car with permit, and gun is not visible by "common observation".   Either of the last two should cover having loaded gun on you with permit on school property, as long as you don't have to get out of the car with it.   - OS

  48. IMO, (and various others) using a firearm should be a last resort. And I would advise against making yourself a target. For both the BG and regular "sheeple".  But you want to open carry, it is your right to do either. I have thought about open carrying before. In the summer, with thinner and less easy to conceal clothing( aside from a holster shirt), I can see open carry as an option. Might since it is getting warmer, wear an untucked shirt over my holster.

  49. Adding to what 101 said:   I make it a point to be unfailingly polite and courteous to people in town. Never EVER walk, talk, or act like a fool. Don't raise your voice or do something negative. Hold doors open. Smile at people. Act almost like you're running for office, minus the ridiculous politics.   I went to IL for business about a month ago and on the way back, OCed through Kentucky. We stopped to eat and I got a curious look from another person in the restroom. Turns out he was from IL and had no idea that people elsewhere could carry at all, much less OC. He was pro-gun. We ended up having a great conversation about weapons and target shooting. Now that he knows that he doesn't have to have a permit to OC in KY, guess what he'll be doing next time he passes through? :)
