This is how capitalism is supposed to work. Good companies recognize the human factor, and will pay more and promote hard work a good work ethics. Those that don't will lose their good work force and not be very successful. Expecting entry level jobs that a 16 year old can do to pay great and have benefits is just rediculous and anyone suggesting otherwise is either stupid, lazy or selfish. Most jobs at Walmart are entry level jobs that a high schooler can do. I know this because I worked at Walmart while in high school and some of college. However, from what I saw they promoted based on merit. Before I quit I was running one of the departments and likely would have been a department manager in short order. I have a friend who also worked with me at Walmart who made it a career and is now an assistant store manager. And as far as retail companies go, I challenge folks to find other retailers that offer as much in starting pay and benefits as Walmart. The problem is, not everyone is a hard worker. I know, shocker. There's nothing wrong with that. Maybe someone is content cleaning the same urinal for the rest of their lives. I'm cool with that. What I'm not cool with is that person demanding crap and saying they're owed more. They ain't owed jack. They can be replaced inside of 10 minutes. When the evil socialists change that dynamic you no longer have the option of firing crappy workers or rewarding good ones. You no longer can provide affordable products and services that are satisfactory. What you end up with is the same cancerous disease that has infected EVERY SINGLE LAST COMPANY THAT HAS A DAMN UNION! For crying out loud! How do folks not see the correlation between unions and failure? It has played out thousands of times. In the end guess who loses their job? Yep, that worker that the union socialists scream and whine about so much. Wake up union drones. You are just a means to power for the union leadership. You are a commodity that is exploited by unions, and when they're done ruining your life, taking away your pension and convincing you that it's all the company's fault, guess where they go next? Yeah, they move on to the next host to suck dry. Walmart is in the breech now. Hopefully they hang on to their sack and shut down these union slime that are behind this movement.5 points

You guys are wusses.... whatever happened to living off the land while you hunt? You can make a darn good meal out of grubs, fungus (takes a little knowledge to know what kind won't make you sick) and pine nuts! As they say, "Them's good eatin'!" Jerky, crackers, and vienna sausage... that ain't huntin', that's Cadillac living! Jeremiah Johnson would hang his head in shame. Might as well drive your Winnebago right up to the tree stand! :jester: :stir:4 points

Three thoughts: ... Vindictive woman wants divorce... Ratty divorce lawyers give unethical advice...Willing "enforcers" investigate... "....Its the typical "mad woman tells lie --willing accomplices in law enforcement "forced to investigate" thing..." I think it's funny: Shelley Zimmerman charged with perjury (...lying to the court...); now is the most truthful woman in Orange County... . I say she has either been bought, is a mad, vindictive woman, or both... All of 'em are bad... disbelievin leroy3 points

...one is for my Grandaddy. It will be under his best suit tomorrow, and I will crack a smile and remember him every time I pull one of the other three out of the drawer. Kind of neat to be able to share one last thing. 93 years old, Army Air Force in WWII, retired firefighter, was a loving husband for 65 years. When my son and I pluck sweet potatoes out of the ground, peel them with my pocket knife, and savor earth and sun, saying, "How sweet it is!", my heart will be full - knowing that my son is going to be at least a little bit like the great grandad that loved us so well.2 points

Then there's always the possibility of reaching for the wrong ziploc bag, especially in the pre-dawn hours when light is scarce. :stunned: Not a good time to get a "surprise" ziploc bag.2 points

There are some good responses in this thread! I dont have any rhyme or reason to what I take with me in the woods. Usually whatever I have on hand. My rotation usually involves trail mix, nabs, beef jerky, cliff bars, protein bars, and M&M's. I try not to eat too much when I am in the stand because eating too much makes me more tired than I already am and usually preempts the urge to "go". Seeing as I havent yet mastered the art of crapping in a ziplock, I'll just keep the snacks light.2 points

At this point I don't see what difference who gets elected in 2016 will make regardless of who it is. By the time Obamacare kicks into full implementation this country is over...there will be no turning back; it will simply be too late to substantially alter the entitlement train wreck that is approaching, ALL elected office holders, regardless of party will really have two and only two choices to make; continue the entitlement gravy train without raising taxes (substantially anyway) until the weight of our enormous debt crashes the economy OR raise taxes to the level necessary to sustain the entitlements which will also ultimately crash the economy...same destination regardless of the decision made. As unpalatable as it was we had a small chance to turn things around in 2012 but no one who actually gave a #### could even agree to vote for Romney…he isn’t conservative enough...libertarian enough...he is just as bad on “gun control†as Obama...he isn't Ron Paul and on and on the excuses went. Well; elections have consequences and the consequences of 2012 will be a decidedly left-wing SCOTUS, Obamacare, 20 million criminals being rewarded with citizenship (and all the welfare that goes with it) and the 35% of us still working paying the way for the other 60% to sit on their asses all day with a higher lifestyle than most of the rest of us have. And in case anyone is wondering; no... I haven't been drinking tonigt...maybe that's the problem.2 points

I have bought a bunch of knives from Amazon. They usually have the best price. I don't normally buy the there is they're not stocked by Amazon, and stocked by some dealer instead. In this case, Midway beats them. $59.99 with free UPS ground shipping. http://ads.midwayusa.com/product/886565/ka-bar-usmc-fighting-utility-knife-7-carbon-steel-clip-point-blade-black-stacked-leather-handle-with-leather-sheath And just ordered one.2 points

Wow, GZ is the new poster boy for righteousness and victimization. Maybe he's just an OJ type douche slowly headed to a date with karma. ***Truth is Obama is behind this. He knows that we will be distracted by this for at least 18 months and a 70 page thread. That should be long enough to get us thoroughly entrenched in Syria.2 points

There is no telling with this administration. One thing I do know is that Obama's mouth has portrayed him to be the biggest wussified beta male on the planet. I believe this administration is desperate for Congress to vote no on the resolution, which I hope they do, so they can get out from under this mess. If this happens, Obama can blame it all on Congress and then go back to talking tough. To Assad, "You are lucky Congress held me back, or I was going to personally come over there and kick your ass."2 points

I keep a couple feeders on the front porch and we have around a dozen. My cat caught one a couple weeks ago and I knocked the cat away and grabbed it up. I took it to the front yard and tried to release it since it wasn't bleeding and appeared uninjured. It would fly about two inches up from my hand and then land again. It did this several times and just couldn't get any higher. I sat it down on a bush and noticed something caught in it's wing. I picked it up again and began pulling at the thing on it's wing. It turned out to be a very large and long strand of spider webbing that was entwined all around it's whole body. I gently got it all off and then opened my hand. It sat there for about a minute and just looked at me (almost like it was thanking me).....then it flew off like nothing had happened. My husband now calls me the hummingbird whisperer. :)2 points

Well, they are somewhat of a superpower. I'm surprised that it took them this long to even acquire an aircraft carrier, and the one they got was broke down USSR junk that they fixed up nice. They're kinda derilect that they're just now getting around to designing and building their own. I'm not too concerned with them taking military action against us; I just think this will be their way of projecting themselves globally and reducing our influence, which it seems they are succeeding at. They don't have anything to gain by picking a fight, but we all have a lot to lose.2 points

In my experience at the company I work for, the union ends up punishing the best workers and protects the crappy workers. I've seen untold times that the company would like to reward good workers by giving them more pay or some special perk but can't due to the union. The good worker has to be treated just like the crappy worker. It takes away all the incentive to work harder and excel. This country wasn't built on socialism and to me unions promote socialistic thinking.2 points

Jeb realized that Tay's wife wasn't with him and then feared the worst for her, "Where's Sarah at?" Jeb asked with a concerned look. Tay had a look of grimace, then looked to the ground, "She's..." Jeb looked to him, "I'm so sorry man." A woman walked through the door, "Are you guys talking about me?" Jeb looked up in amazement, then with a piercing stare looked to Tay, "You @#$%ing @#$%head!!!" Tay then began to laugh, "Sorry, couldn't help but @#$% with ya!" Tay smiled at Jeb, but then with a serious look on his face now gazing at Sarah said, "Wait here with Jeb, I'm going to get the truck." Tay then stepped outside under the yellow-orange glow of the street lamp, disappearing from the other twos sight, "Did you guys manage your way over here okay?" Sarah smiled, "Yeah, but we found out what was going on when we hit someone on the way over." Jeb was confused, she then explained how they had hit someone in their truck, when Tay investigated the body it was still "alive" but had wounds previous to the accident. She said that she had never seen him like that and that his exact words were, "I've seen some crazy @#$% in my time but this takes the damned bakery." She told Jeb how the body looked as if it was trying to bite Tay and how Tay without hesitating put two rounds into the poor souls chest but did not kill it. She then described how he fired another round from his suppressed Kimber into the skull of the creature putting it down for good. Jeb then asked her, "That must've royally screwed his Chevy up from hitting it." She then laughed, "Actually it didn't do a thing" Before Jeb could ask why, he then heard an extremely high pitched whistle accompanied by a deep throated rumble. Jeb stepped outside the garage to see what it was, rolling up to his house was a M35A2 "Deuce and a half". Jeb looked at Sarah with an extremely surprised and shocked look, she responded, "We just got it today, we were going to show you tomorrow morning." She smiled then added, "This is the MAG's BOV, Taygan got it today actually from a fellow in Lexington." Jeb was in pure awe, "This must be what they describe as 'star-struck'."1 point

The "bull" profile has the potential for greater accuracy because it is stiffer, and is less effected by the heat of sustained fire. Al other things being equal, the heavier barrel will be more accurate. However, a good tapered barrel will outshoot a not-so-good bull barrel every time. Proper crowns, riflling, and chamber dimensions are much more important then external profile.1 point

"Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S.
