Because, despite their lack of aesthetic appeal, they work. They work when all other fail. All the older, classier, sexier designs need a trained skilled hand to get them to run like a Glock, and even then they will fail before the fugly plastic turd. A Glock is a framing hammer. We don't brag about or sit and admire a good framing hammer. We just use them and they don't fail. When I go to the range to have fun, I'll bring a Blackhawk. It's gorgeous and I love to look at her. When I get outta bed in the morning and tighten the belt around my britches, there's a Glock 19 on the right side. Later that day when I've been wallerin' on the ground and climbin around cars, I never give the Tupperware a thought. This is the definition of "Glock Perfection". It's the perfected TOOL and it works like no other.5 points

That wind ate me alive! I told my SIL and my Son via text I was climbing down at 9 because I was cold and miserable. At 8:58 a doe walked within 25 yards of my stand and I put her down for a dirt nap. Was out of my stand by nine! DaveS3 points

I don't care. I like real guns better. I had a bunch... until that tragic boating accident.2 points

It’s just a knee jerk reaction to technology that they don’t understand. 3D printing is some bad azz technology that will be very useful in manufacturing; but guns are not one of those uses. I find it amusing that I could produce a gun that is fully functional and would rival anything mass produced by gun makers, and it is legal; but involve a 3D printer and people starting wringing their hands. On a different note, we are looking at getting some parts quoted that we machine with 5-axis machines on complex surfaces; printing should be a fraction of the cost.2 points

Two weeks ago today, I adopted an 18 month old male basset hound through Belly Rubs Basset Hound Rescue. I just couldn't go without a hound any longer. :) His name is Wally and he has an interesting story... About five weeks ago, an elderly couple who live in Lenoir City were RV camping up in the Smokies when they saw this dog wandering toward them. He went to the door of their RV and whined like he wanted to be let in. Being dog lovers themselves they obediently opened the door at which point this hound went inside, promptly jumped up on the sofa and went to sleep! He was a bit of mess, dirty and tick infested...they washed him up in their on board shower and dealt with the ticks as best they could and too him to their vet to get fully rid of the ticks. That's when they contacted the rescue organization. They named his Wally and I decided it's a good name for him! We don't know much about him but it was obvious that he had been on his own for a while. He is negative for heart worms which was a big relief but he was positive for worms which he's been treated for and we are also treating him for a couple of bacterial infections (ears, toenails and positive for a tick born disease; all of which is very common to basset hounds and especially in Tennessee) but overall, he's a pretty healthy boy. Based on his teeth, my vet believes he is not older than 18 months. He's already made himself quite at home here and quite at home with me...I still miss my girl Millie and I suspect I always will but Wally is a great hound and already a good friend! If you have or ever had a dog who has made you laugh, brightened your life, and every day silently accepted your tears without judgment, snuggled with you, forgiven your faults and loved unconditionally - dogs are a gift that most of us don't deserve!2 points

The only reason you can see it is because its clean, this is a Glock after all. Stop cleaning it! Lol I took mine outta the holster the other night, I cleared the gun then proceeded to wipe out enough lint to weave a new shirt. I'm looking at mine right now and there's some tool marks in there where they ground out the casting flash. In a lot of injection molding Rees a problem area. A place where the geometry of the mold makes it difficult for the plastic to fill out or sometimes overflow if the mold isn't perfectly sealed. A has been said, no biggie.2 points

They will NOT accept 2 pages but it is perfectly ok to print your own form as long as page 1 and page 2 (front and back) are on the same page. They stopped allowing 2 page forms years ago b/c some were getting CLEO signoff on suppressors and then putting the back of one form with the front of a machinegun form, etc... Lot of the crap we deal with now b/c of a few bad apples... If you do not have a duplex printer just print page 1, flip it over and print page 2. The ATF forms are adobe PDFs and will allow you to type in your information. Be sure to pick up the cert of compliance forms too.2 points

We put this together at the shop today. Kit is made by Adaptive Tactical, and includes the covnersion kit, and a 10 rd drum, with additional drums available seperate as well as 5 rd stick mags. This is a duracoated Mossberg 500 with the 10 rd drum kit. Gotta say I can see me building one of these for myself very soon. Tapatalk ate my spelling.1 point

Have been expecting this one for a very long time now, surprised there's not one every weekend with the way some of those idiots handle their guns. Short version - dancing at Yemeni wedding, booger picker hits the bang button and three headshots from an ak47. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=092_13850870341 point

It WAS a gun rights issue. George got way more support than he may have deserved because of it. Look at the date on this... http://www.nraila.org/legislation/state-legislation/2013/11/alert!-floridas-stand-your-ground-law-stood-its-ground-against-attack.aspx1 point

That's not a lie. You were willing to buy the vehicle as represented. It's the duty of the seller to represent anything which may negatively affect the price (morally if not legally).1 point

Actually it supports my sentiments exactly. I believe Zimmerman committed manslaughter, yet I acknowledge that he deserves a fair trial and that he got one. I acknowledge that there wasn't enough evidence to charge him let alone convict him. If I go out and punch a woman in the face then hold her at gunpoint, yet do not get convicted of a crime, it doesn't mean it didnt happen and it doesn't mean that I didn't do it. To believe otherwise is to also believe that OJ didn't murder those two people. Don't confuse my opinions on someone's guilt with my belief in a system of justice. And perhaps when I have some free time I'll look though the old threads and post quotes, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. If i did it would only piss off those people I'm quoting. I'm not lying to you. The posts are there. Not to mention all the stuff littering the internets on pro-gun websites. People said the very things I mentioned. Wasn't there a fund made to buy him a new gun? Weren't there folks here donating to Zimmerman's defense?1 point

Everyone I know swears the 35 is a 'bang ....flop' cartridge. I believe it. I have yet to hunt with mine but what a cast boolit from this thing will do in water jugs is extraordinary. I have several molds for it but my two current favorites are a 200g RCBS with a healthy meplat and a Lyman 200g round nose hollow point. The hollow point expansion is scary! I wouldn't feed this thing a jacketed bullet for nothing. There's no way they could perform ANY better. To beat all, recoil is very mild and the most confusing yet is point of aim versus point of impact. My 308 has a noticeable change from a 25 yard zero to a 100 yard shot. Granted my shooting skills suck and my Marlin only has a receiver sight but a 25 yard zero has no noticeable change at 100. The same hold that hits clay targets at 25 will bust every one of them at 100. That's with a 200g cast boolit running just shy of 2000 fps (no chrono, so I can only guess). The only thing that pisses me off about the 35 is that you can't make brass from 308 like you can with a 358 Winchester. ....and the fact that it took me all this many years to find the thing. Why I never tried it before I'll never know.1 point

There certainly aren't any "guaranteed" DRT calibers, but big, fat, slow, flat points do a good job of dropping deer. I don't have an issue with folks using a .300 win mag or a .45/70 or any other big gun for deer. There are advantages to super mags if you like to take very long shots. It's not my thing, but I understand the skill needed to take 300+ yard shots. I don't practice enough to attempt it. As far as tracking, I one shot a deer 3 times with a 30/30 through the heart and lungs and he still ran 100 yards. I thought I had missed the first two shots because he just stood there. The third shot made him bolt. All three were right on the money. Never can tell. Yup.1 point

There are so many threads on here regarding the subject and so many posts with people touting him as a hero for gun rights, saying they would buy him a new gun or want him as a neighbor. I'm not combing through all that old nonsense to prove my point; it just exists. Add to that many of the vocal in th gun owning community posting blogs and stories on the subject painting Zmmerman and his actions is a positive and rose-colored light. This is what I'm talking about when I say "hitching one's wagon" to him. Look at this man's history. Would any of us support a person with such a history? Support his right to a fair trial, sure, but the man himself? Hell no. It defies logic. The only reason I think so many jumped to his cause is because they saw this as a gun rights issue because that's where the media was going with it. In the end, I still believe that this was a man who was looking for trouble and found it. Perhaps Trayvon was doing the same, but I don't see how anyone would or could stand in Zmmerman's corner when it is so damn obvious the person he is.1 point

thanks guys, it was a pretty good hunt, ive let a several does walk during these two weeks of muzzleloader, but went in with the mindset for yesterday evenings hunt "if its brown its down" lol. she was the only one I saw, she came out about 20 mns before total darkness, and she was by herself. so I didnt want to risk letting her walk and not seeing anymore. now that I have meat in the freezer, I will discriminate more on what I shoot next.1 point

Sorry we didn't get to meet! I hate crowds too. My wife took me because if she didn't she would have to put up with this all weekend: Hope you and yours have a Happy Thanksgiving! Maybe we will get to formally meet one day. I'm thinking about going to Classic Arms and sitting on their park bench with a sign that says "I'm on TGO".....1 point

The only thing that might change is then the Republicans will be doing whatever it is they like. And that's not necessarily a great thing. I firmly believe the Republicans are glad this happened, just in case they are ever in a majority situation again. I can guarantee you that rule is not going to change if they ever do. They can then use it as needed but can point back to the dems, like the little children they all are, and say "well, they started it".1 point

Exactly. Some folks couldn't stomach Romney so we shouldn't be surprised by anything that comes out of this administration. All those folks that were sitting at home in 2012 are still just as disgusted, nothing will change accept for the worse.1 point

I'd suggest going to the next council meeting and asking how much waste fraud and abuse did they stop last year? My guess not a single penny... Then remind them that the hard economic times are still here, and the council should take a much closer look at the city budget and figure out how to make do with what they have... if not the people might find some smarter council members who not only can make due with the current budget but find plenty of waste to cut on top of that.1 point

Notice how cleverly they say that property taxes haven't been raised to repair schools. We've gotten sticker shock every time we've opened the annual notice from the county appraiser since we moved here ten years ago. I'd love to sell our house for the amount they say it's worth.and live in a houseboat or trailer someplace where no one can find us. The wife and I are childless so we put no burden on the school system at all, yet we pay the same as a couple with five kids in the indoctrination camps that they call public schools.1 point
