  1. A man boarded an airplane and took his seat. As he settled in, he glanced up and saw the most beautiful woman boarding the plane. He soon realized she was heading straight towards his seat. As fate would have it, she took the seat right beside his. Eager to strike up a conversation he blurted out, "Business trip or pleasure?" She turned, smiled and said, "Business. I'm going to the Annual Nymphomaniacs of America Convention in Boston " He swallowed hard. Here was the most gorgeous woman he had ever seen sitting next to him, and she was going to a meeting of nymphomaniacs. Struggling to maintain his composure, he calmly asked, "What's your business role at this convention?" "Lecturer," she responded. "I use information that I have learned from my personal experiences to debunk some of the popular myths about sexuality." "Really?" he said. "And what kind of myths are there?" "Well," she explained, "one popular myth is that African-American men are the most well-endowed of all men, when in fact it is the Native American Indian who is most likely to possess that trait. Another popular myth is that Frenchmen are the best lovers, when actually it is men of Jewish descent who are the best. I have also discovered that the lover with absolutely the best stamina is the Southern Redneck." Suddenly the woman became a little uncomfortable and blushed. "I'm sorry," she said, "I shouldn't really be discussing all of this with you. I don't even know your name." "Tonto," the man said, " Tonto Goldstein , but my friends call me Bubba."

  2. Christian baker is vilified and sued because he chooses not to do business with a gay couple.   Gay hair stylist refuses to do business with NM Gov. Martinez because she believes marriage is between a man and a woman, and for some strange reason, that's OK.   This is a GLARING double standard, but it's what we've come to expect from the looney left.     http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/3128921/posts

  3. I'm betting that Gov. Martinez will do the mature and responsible thing, and simply go find another hair stylist, as opposed to the gay couple, who acted like three-year-olds who didn't get their way and decided to abuse the legal system and take the baker to court over their hurt feelings.

  4. YYYYYAAAAAAYYYYY!!!!! Got 2 boxes of Federal 38gr copper plated HP for $3.99 ea. They still had about a dozen boxes left at 4:45, but they didn't expect it to last another 30 mins. They told me they got 8 of the 1,400rd Bucket O' Bullets in today, and they lasted til just after 10am. I was a bit miffed 'cuz I begged wifey to visit the store this morning since she (teacher) had the day off. She didn't go. :squint: Oh well. I'm not a .45 man, but I know many are. They had Monarch 230gr fmj brass for $18.99/50. That's good even by Wal-Mart standards, IMHO. Also, as many may already know, they price dropped their DRT ammo by $3-5/box across all calibers. I think 9mm was $15.99/20 and 40 was $16.99/20. I'm tempted, but I'm just not sold on lightweight frangible whiz-bang ammo. Instead, I grabbed the last two boxes of Federal 9mm 147gr FTX for $17.99/25. Happy ammo hunting!!

  6. Whoa, folks:  several of you are mistakenly looking at the Bill Summary section 6, instead of the actual Bill language (found here: http://www.capitol.tn.gov/Bills/108/Bill/HB1883.pdf).  The summary does not reflect the Bill's actual Sections 1-6 in its list - rather, it simply presents six bullet points summarizing the overall features of the bill.  The amendment does NOTHING to change the initial Bill's effect on being able to order, purchase, possess, etc switchblades or knives over 4" long - see my post #532 (just about 6 above this one) for an accurate description of the effect of the amendment, which is merely to delete the proposal that use of such a weapon would constitute a new Class D felony.

  7. I guess I'll never understand any of it.  No one has the right to tell another what they can and cannot do, so long as WHAT they are doing is not hurting someone else.   THe ONLY thing I should be bound by law to do when it comes to someone else's lifestyle is ignore it provided it is not interfering with my ability to live MY lifestyle.     Stupid.  All of this is mind numbingly STUPID.

  9. I've never really struggled peeling a banana from the stem and i'm not eating an apple core and seeds. I have heard and tried peeling a banana that way, it doesn't always work that good. Maybe monkeys have been doing it wrong for a million years and it took us humans to do it right. :)

  13. That should serve as a great reminder of exactly who the Republicans within the Tennessee legislature think they work for.  It sure as heck isn't "we the people."   They all need to hear their names mentioned in the same sentence as Debra Maggart's a little more often.  And if we'd toss 3 or 4 of them under the bus every cycle - maybe just maybe they'd start to come around in a decade or so.

  19.   I'll do you one better. Lets keep the possibility for obtaining a HCP for cross-state compatibility, initiate constitutional carry in TN, and then make it illegal to use a firearm to do something illegal. Win-Win!   In high school in one class we had a "conversation" that was based on the fact someone stabbed someone with a swiss army knife on school property. The teacher was asking "what could be done" to prevent things like that happening in the future. I told him that they should just make it against the law to stab someone, and he responded that it already was.   I responded with "And a lot of good that did".

  20. Sounds about what I was getting only advice I can give is use the heaviest bullet you can it will be the longest one which will help stabilize the bullet better. The rifling in these old Mausers is different than modern rifles and don't shoot lighter bullets as well as heaver ones. I know you most likely already know this but for the benefit of others that may read this thread wanted to point this out.

  26. This is what i was talking about that their goal would be - they knew that alot of people would not register and that this is the only way for this Government to take our guns away. Confiscation was always their goal - they knew if they make people register their guns that there will be many that want comply but that was the only way for them to take the guns away - now its up to the people to choose what to do - Stand up and fight or give them up, These politicians have gone over board we have to do something about it soon.

  28. I rather enjoyed the episode. Since Daryl is really the main continuing hero in the whole shebang, I though it was rather nifty to get an insight into the fact that he had only basically been a cracker scuzzball, and only a bit less so than Merle.   Not meaning to equate the character changes he's had to go through with high classical drama or anything, but it nevertheless lends a bit of literary catharsis to the proceedings -- matters of conscience, rising above lowly circumstances, atonement and redemption, all that sort of stuff. And I actually liked the burning of the cabin as the symbolic unchaining from his past, and yadda yadda.   Anyway, thought it was fairly high minded effort on the writers' part and so I'm not gonna diss it. :)   - OS

  29. Foreign policy is a multi-touch point process.  This administration is behind the 8-ball because of previous mis-steps that currently put the U.S. in a position of weakness.  Given the history here, the current admin doesn't have a lot to stand upon.  China supports the Russian action.  China is already pursuing their own annexation albeit in a much more diplomatic fashion.  There is trouble on the horizon as China and Russia play against us.  And the fact that Putin is still playing Cold War politics is very concerning...especially given the Afghanistan connections.

  33. I ordered some brass from a guy, shipping out of Florida. He shipped in a flat rate box with 1 day priority mail. Shipped on Friday morning, expected delivery was Saturday. Nothing Saturday, I wasn't in a rush so thought it would show up Monday. Monday morning the tracking showed the box had processed and left Nashville.  Tuesday the box was scanned back through Orlando! I contacted the seller, he tried to find out what happened but the Post Office had no idea, they said the box was marked to go back to Nashville and verified my address. Box was shipped back to Nashville, processed, and back to Orlando a second time. This went on for several days, box was processed through Orlando and Nashville 3 times and it took almost 2 weeks for a 1 day package to arrive..

  35. I shipped (20 I think) PMAG's to a member on here. I generally add tracking numbers to my iOS app "Deliveries" and just make sure they all get delivered. Probably a week or so later I get a message from that person just asking the status of his PMAG's. Told him that I didn't know but would check. My iOS app told me that it had been delivered! He hadn't seen them though, and I took his word for it since he has good feedback on here. I figured that either they had been stolen off his porch or stolen by the USPS person. I called the Post Office in Brentwood, spoke with the Postmaster over a few days, and eventually discovered that a driver had "scanned it as delivered but meant to scan it as attempted delivery". Accidents happen, but I was very concerned that one of us was going to be out of some money. In the end it worked out. The Postmaster was very helpful, but it did cause me to rethink some things.   You know who you are!

  43. So what that this is happening in Connecticut at the moment?   We really are talking about possible gun confiscation; would anyone have dreamed that possible 50 years ago?  I wouldn't have...not in any state in this country (and I've lived in several).  I don't really think CT authorities will do it but the fact that it's even, apparently, being considered based on a number of news stories I've read should make all of us stop catch our breath. There may well come a time when each of us will have to decide whether to "turn them in" or face the consequences (the consequences being prison or perhaps even death).   There is NOTHING so special about the gun culture in Tennessee or any state that guarantees that this cannot happen here...let one deranged crackpot kill a dozen or two kindergartners in a school here in Tennessee and just wait to see what kind of bogus, unconstitutional laws this legislature might be willing to pass; then what are you going to do when the legislature says your gun is now illegal because it looks mean or tells you that you can't have a "high capacity clip" that holds more than 10 rounds...not just not be able to carry it in public but now allowed to have AT ALL (that's a rhetorical question...I'm not looking for a real answer here...just offering up something for people to consider)?   I'm not fanning the flames or for a shootout either but I do think we need to be aware of what's happening in CT as it may well be an example of what will be on our own doorstep someday.

  46. Not a big deal but went to both armorer courses and have owned multiple copies of each, too many some might say.   M&P: Pros  1) ergonomics  Cons: 1) too many internal parts vs Glock 2) Have to use a roll pin punch and hammer to detail strip   Glock:   Pros 1) ease of dissassembly 2) availability of parts and accessories 3) Very few internal parts  Cons: brick-like ergonomics compared to the M&P (unless you reduce or reshape the grip)

  47. You might want to slug the bore to find out it's true diameter, as mentioned it may be shot out but you might be able to load to bullets of a greater diameter to compensate.   If you really want to get it clean you can always try science.  I used the electrolysis method explained in the following link on a Mosin once.  It was amazing the amount of sludge that came out of the bore, I literally went through dozens of patches just removing the gunk loosen by the method.   http://www.thedolk.com/borecleaner/index.html   I used a regular steel rod, not stainless, as that's what they had at the hardware store and AA batteries.   Still, I'm not sure you can ever get a clean patch to come out of a milsurp.   Might also check the crown for any nicks or whatnot.
