Based on the way he and his two, main lackeys in the state legislature have acted so far I would almost expect the Haslam supported design to look a bit like this: As far as the non-reflective plate issue goes, to me if the county clerk isn't worried enough about it to address the issue I don't know that I would be, either. I'd probably email them and keep that email handy to show proof that I tried to address the issue - as well as the response from the clerk's office - in case I ever ended up in court over it, though.3 points

Then get a new one if it bugs you that much. I'd gladly pay $14 to get rid of the anguish this seems to be causing for you. Forgive me if I seem insensitive, but it's a car tag. It isn't like your child was just diagnosed with cancer.2 points

I planted cabbage, kholrabi, rosemary, and thyme from some seedlings a week ago. Planted peas, swiss chard, spinach, mesclun, romaine, lettuce, peas, carrots, turnips, radishes, squash, zucchini, cauliflower, basil, dill, leeks, sweet peppers, cucumbers, and watermelon from seeds. Everything is sprouting now but the squash and zucchini. With this round of rain and lots of sunshine, I may have sprouts there in a few days too. I found this site for planning square-foot gardens: http://www.gardeners.com/Kitchen-Garden-Planner/kgp_home,default,pg.html You can choose one of their pre-planned designs, or make your own. Just drag-n-drop the plants into the grid.2 points

Sometime in early/mid '60's, the Playboy mag college fun rankings had an asterisk in the drinking category for UTK. Below, the asterisk was " professionals not ranked with amateurs in this category" :) - OS2 points

I think suggesting that someone just get a different job is really rather ridiculous. We have more people out of work in this country today than any other time in the country's history - anyone who currently has a job had damn well better keep it. There is nothing wrong with looking around and keeping options open but there is more to a career and finding the right position than whether a company allows firearms on their property.2 points

The other, is the best trigger I've ever felt come out of a parts kit. I've heard several others attest to the latter as well1 point

I respectfully disagree. Loser pays (in the true sense) protects wrongdoers far more than it helps the wrongly accused. Tennessee adopted a watered down "loser pays" rule that went into effect last year. However, if you do the research, Tennessee has not had a problem of any significance with unmerited lawsuits. If a lawsuit is filed that has virtually no chance to win, it is much more likely to get dismissed VERY early in the case than it is to get to settlement. And under current Tennesssee, could require the plaintiff to pay for costs, attorneys fees, and loss of income for the defendant. The "loser pays" statute only applies in certain cases and only if the case is dismissed within a short time. Now, with the current discussion, I do think it is possible to bring a lawsuit against a business owner that prohibits carry in some very limited circumstances. Tennessee case law has recognized a limited duty for businesses to take measures to protect patrons when there is a known threat. Walmart got hit years ago in Memphis for failing to protect patrons because Walmart was well aware of some violent criminal activity in its parking lot. The case law is pretty clear, though, that the business must be aware of an "unreasonable risk" of violent activity on the premises under control of the business. If someone could show that violent crime was known to business (and probably not know to the patron) and that the prohibition contributed to death or injury, then there's a chance that liability would occur.1 point

I can recommend the MKII, the 22/45 Lite and the P22. All three are outstanding but the 22/45 and P22 came with some government mandated safety nazi interferences, once I got rid of those they became superb shooters. The P22 is amazingly accurate for its size, I tend to shoot far. :) just cuz it says on the box the bullet can travel a mile and a half :) The 22/45 came with a scope mount too.1 point

I think it's pretty facile for a self-employed person to suggest to someone who is not self-employed that they quit their job when they do not know what's going on in that person's life that affects his/her decisions. Not everyone can be self-employed, and there are way too many unemployed at this time.1 point

I'd spring for the M&P 22, IMO the 12rd mag is a huge advantage for plinking and makes it that much more fun! Because its a little bigger, it allows newer shooters to nail the fundamentals and have a more fun time learning - but for the experienced shooters, it sometimes feels like cheating! The only Achilles Heel is the sights, IMO, they need some work, but I wasn't blessed with great eyes either and just about require 3-dot or target FO sights! Either way, you can't go wrong!1 point

These are not normal operation. You should not have it at half cocked because it is a full cocked safety on gun. I have never had mine at half cocked and loaded; maybe when cleaning it but it was unloaded then. Yes, it WILL drop the hammer from 1/2 cock & trigger pull. I just checked mine. Dunno if it has enough oomph to fire, or if it is blocked. I can try to fire it next week from that state if people really care that much. But why would it ever be at 1/2 ??? Yes, it DOES strip a round off the mag if you mess with the slide. Its really simple. Rack it one time (or close the slide on a fresh mag), put the safety on, and it will work. Mess with it, and it may not. Sometimes dropping the mag when not empty strips a round and both mag and loose round fall out of it. This is normally a non-issue; if you did a tactical reload it might lose you a round on the removed mag. This has never interfered with operation for me. Not once. But I shoot it empty and reload from there.... The actually aggravating issue is that the grips like to come unscrewed when shooting. Locktite solves that one, but it should not need it. Patton -- it may be visually difficult to see if the safety is on but it has a positive click into place and can easily be mechanically verified (take it off, put it back on, feel the click, its safe). I have not ever had it slip into "fire" while carrying over a long time -- had one since the first shipment hit the stores and carried it not long after that (verification process). I usually ignore safeties but on a cocked pistol, I take it seriously. I have tested it enough and cannot find a safety failure condition, nor have I had one. It does its job. BTW I see you are near chatt... if you are down this way you can shoot mine to test it out if you like. Same for ladyhay if practical tn is a big place...1 point

I would steer clear of any used gift card unless you know and trust the person you are getting it from. I spent several years in loss prevention and in that time I spent a good deal of time messing with gift card fraud. I remember one circumstance where we canceled a gift card after a thief stole merchandise and then returned it. The customer then pawned the gift card and it was purchased by an elderly lady. That old lady was pretty upset that she had spent something like $250 for a $400 gift card that was no good. Thing is you have zero recourse if you buy a bogus card. If you decide to buy one anyway, meet the seller at the store, have the store tell you the amount on the card then use the card immediately.1 point

You know there is a simple solution to this problem? Go get a job with a company that cares about your safety to and from work. It's not the governments job to make your life easier, you choose to continue to work for a company that requires that you be unarmed to and from work, nobody is forcing you to stay.1 point
