Next Friday I will no longer be in my 30s. :( It isn't too bad though. I have been blessed with very good health for which I am very thankful. Most weeks I go to the gym everyday M-F and at times run 3 miles in the evening. I do martial arts three times a week. I try to keep myself in decent physical shape. I need to work on my spiritual health a lot more. I pray my good health continues and my 40s are better than my 30s.7 points

Just had to pass this one along. I was 14 when I went in to buy a packet of condoms at Walgreen's pharmacy. In those days it took a lot of guts to go in a store and ask for that kind of item because everyone in town knew me and there was no doubt the young lady (I think her name was Becky) knew what they were for. She was working as an assistant behind the counter, and she could see that I was really embarrassed by the whole procedure. She handed me the package and asked if I knew how to wear one. I honestly answered, 'No, not really.' So she unwrapped the package, took one out and slipped it over her thumb. She cautioned me to make sure it was on tight and secure. I apparently still looked confused. So, she looked all around the store to see if it were empty. It was. 'Just a minute,' she said, and walked me into the back room, unbuttoned her blouse and removed it. She unhooked her bra and laid it aside. 'Do these excite you?' She asked. Well, I was so dumb-struck that all I could do was stand there with my mouth open and nod my head. She then said it was time to slip the condom on. As I was slipping it on, she dropped her skirt, removed her panties and lay down on a desk. 'Well, come on', she said, 'We don't have much time.' So I climbed on her. It was so wonderful that, unfortunately, I could no longer hold back and KAPOW, I was done within a few moments. She looked at me with a bit of a frown. 'Did you put that condom on?' she asked. I said, 'sure did,' and held up my thumb to show her. Then she beat the crap out of me.... Women have always been hard for me to figure out.7 points

Do you think banning body armor will prevent criminals from using it? Home invasions, robberies, and other thuggish acts are already against the law, but does that prevent them from happening? Heroin and meth are already banned, too. How's that working out? The argument that "This product could be misused by criminals so we must ban it" is already employed by those who want more restrictions on gun ownership. It's disappointing to see that same philosophy at work on this forum. I hope you'll reconsider your position. Cheers, Whisper5 points

why can't I own body armor just because I want it and can afford to buy it? Dave, do you seriously believe that banning things stops people from using them anyway? I doubt anyone can get this through to you. What else should be banned? .45 ACP? WASR 10's? AR pistols? Rocks? Sharp sticks?4 points
We were there from 2001 till when; last year? If we didn't fix anything in that amount of time, what makes you think going back will make any difference? When Bush was president, you'll likely remember the nightly national news on all 3 networks began their broadcast with a daily death toll of our forces in Iraq; EVERY NIGHT. Today, they seem to be cheerleading attacks there. I wouldn't get too wrapped up in what is shown on the news.
We invaded in the spring if 2003. The war pretty much was done by late 2009 for most troops. I don't condone sending troops in, but I support bombing ISIS non-stop until they stay away from the Kurds, Christians and Yazidis. What is happening right now is beyond comprehension, and whether we have a hand in causing this destabilization or not, we have a moral obligation as human beings with the means to save innocent lives. No one will stand up for the Christians and Yazidis being slaughtered in northern Iraq. They are on their own. We can easily stop the advance of Isis with easy peasy airstrikes. I can think of no good reason to not use our assets to stop the slaughter. We have little to lose and so much innocent life to save. When I was wearing a uniform, these were the type of people and situations I was more than willing to risk my life for.4 points

Him and his wife are probably the most damaging people to gun owners. The both of them, and the Brady Campaign, are responsible for more damage than anyone else. Not in their legislation but in them pushing that guns, and gun owners, are a bad thing to the public. Had he died from his wounds that day we would have been in a better place today. I have zero sympathy for him, his wife or anyone who supports their agenda. I heard on the news this morning the left are going to try to use his death to renew interest in a nationwide ban on assault weapons. They are saying that a ban on assault weapons would be fitting way to honor him.4 points

I wont call you out because I completely agree with you, Dave did the bullet holes exactly how the Logo is, I sent him a picture of my TGO sticker and asked him to make the rotation of the bullet holes exactly like the sticker so it will not look like an owl, he got a hoot out of it! I will have corrected pictures of our knife next week, this will be the design on this and all future TGO Protech knives to simplify things for all3 points

Here is my checklist to see if something should be accessible on the open market... 1) Do police officers have it for individual use? 2) Do Soldiers have it for individual use? If the answer is yes to either question, then it needs to be available to the public as well. Nothing should be exclusive for LE/MIL use only and no police officer or Soldier should have a quantitative arms edge over the public with their individual kit.3 points

Well, I have been smoke free for 35 days as of today. I smoked for 57 years and didn't think I would ever quit. I had tried a few times and made it a few days is all. Ya'll are gonna laugh at how I did it to this point but it's the truth. My old dog goes every time the Jeep moves and about the 4th of July we had been out running errands and she was in back seat with paws and front half of her up front on console looking out front window and I had a/c running and noticed the jeep was kinda full of smoke from Cigarette I was smoking and I realized that my old dog was breathing all that secondary smoke all the time both in the jeep and house. I made her a promise I would quit smoking and on July 3rd at 9:45 at night before going to sleep I smoked my last cigarette. Have not had one since. Had 3 packs on table in kitchen and gave them to a guy that smokes that came by the house. Gathered up all my ash trays, rinsed them out, put them in dishwasher and washed them and put all but one up in a cabinet. Left one out for company that stops in that smokes. Every so often I catch myself reaching for shirt pocket but not as much as that first week. I am beginning to be able to smell things I had not smelled in sometime. Foods are beginning to taste different. Still will miss them like after a meal or especially with morning coffee but it is getting easier. I don't plan on losing this fight or breaking my promise to my old dog................  :up:3 points

by pulling everyone out before the job was done... because he said he would end the war, so by damned he ended the war without regard to the uncertainty that existed. And now tens of thousands have been massacred with tens of thousands more in the process or about to be. Isis is not that big of a group, we could go in there and turn everyone of their hideouts into a glass factory with minimal effort but that will never happen because of the perception of "going back to war".3 points

An American is having breakfast, in Paris, one morning (coffee, croissants, bread, butter and jam) when a Frenchman, chewing bubble-gum, sits down next to him. The American ignores the Frenchman who, nevertheless, starts a conversation. Frenchman: "You American folk eat the whole bread??" American: "Of course." Frenchman: "We don't. In France, we only eat what's inside. The crusts we collect in a container, recycle it, transform them into croissants and sell them to the states." The Frenchman has a smirk on his face. The American listens in silence. The Frenchman persists: "Do you eat jelly with the bread??" American: "Of Course." Frenchman: "We don't. In France we eat fresh fruit for breakfast, then we put all the peels, seeds, and leftovers in containers, recycle them, transform them into jam, and sell the jam to the states." After a moment of silence, The American then asks: "Do you have sex in France?" Frenchman: "Why of course we do", he says with a big smirk. American: "And what do you do with the condoms once you've used them?" Frenchman: "We throw them away, of course." American: "We don't. In America, we put them in a container, recycle them, melt them down into bubble-gum, and sell them to France. http://www.ebaumsworld.com/jokes/read/80881443/2 points

I just received my cloak tuck 2.0. Was hesitant on the neoprene backing thinking it would be hot, but it is awesome. Super comfortable, and capable of carrying the full size XD9 all day. I got the confirmation email that said 4-6 weeks on delivery, but it came in less than 2. I've already ordered another for me, and one for a family member. I'm sold on them for IWB. they are more comfortable than my desantis or galco.2 points

It's not, nor is it ever, the item or act that is being banned. It is the pure fact and principle that another human is trying to control the behavior of another human. Somethings are warranted, I understand that. We are a society of laws. Break the "common sense" laws and face the consequence. Common sense such as: don't murder, steal, rape, etc. I'm not talking about all the nonsense laws we have now. Murder is still plain murder regardless of the means used to in act such murder. Banning an item to control ones behavior to stop murders is ludicrous. Your opinion that removing an item from society is going to keep you safer is nothing but feel good fallacy. From the beginning of time, humans have tried to control others behavior and it DOES NOT WORK. A person is either going to be a good person or a bad person. The objects in their life are irrelevant. A drunk will find a drink, a thief will find his loot and a killer will find his prey no matter what "law" or "ban" is in place.2 points

As far as that goes, I bet I could make my own body armor if I wanted to. It wouldn't be as high tech, no kevlar and probably a little heavy but simple metal and padding, enough to stop most defensive handgun rounds. Banning wont stop anyone from obtaining and wearing body armor if they choose to.2 points

Swapping barrels between uppers does not affect headspace. Swapping bolts between barrels can but I have never seen swapping bolts cause a problem. I have tons of bolts I swap around all the time. I will say that I do measure my bolts and try to use the "tightest" bolts with the barrels that tend to shoot the best. I have measured bolts that varied .002" but that is well within the tolerances. Any barrel with the extension installed should be safe to shoot with any bolt carrier unless it has a lot of rounds through it. Unless you installed the barrel extension, and drilled the gas port, there is no need to check headspace unless you suspect there is a problem.2 points
You do realize both the Bible and the Koran were written by men. And a lot of times they did not have paper or parchment to write on. So It was handed down by word of mouth. So in time, things get changed around a bit. A long time ago if you didn't practice christianity( catholism in general) you were viewed as a Heretic and shunned or killed. By order of the king which was directly under the pope. There are different versions of these bibles and korans. True followers of their faith do not believe in violence toward anyone. But the media has corrupted us all into thinking all muslims are evil. I know a muslim and he lives in my neighborhood. Actually ran for county commissoner. I had my CPA ( Citizen Police Academy) class with him for 10 weeks this year. Good guy, very knowledgable and he holds a top secret clearance at AEDC. So not all are bad.
That is entirely an incorrect description of islam. You live in the West, where there are many judeo-christian sects which hold that their religious writing are divinely inspired but written by man, and thus subject to man's interpretation. Islam in nearly all sects including its largest and majority sects of Sunni and Shia beleive that the koran is the literal word of Allah. Their prophet Muhummed was allahs messenger. Islam itself means "submission to g-d". Its a religion of obedience and leads critical thinking not occuring since if you express a thought counter to the dogma you are a heretic or infidel and subject to death. This is the so called Radical islam that we see - and its not so radical to most muslims. You friend here in the USA would also be considered an apostate and subject to death if he were over there now. And those people on top of that mountain are considered Infidels - and must either convert or die. And all we are doing is making sure they will die with a full stomach. These people should be allowed asylum to come to the uSa if we will not defend them against the monsters who wish them dead. Watch the video i posted earlier in the thread2 points

The fact that the media is the biggest collection of liberals there is, is why the average American has the view they do. We ousted a cruel dictator that paid the families of suicide bombers, used WMDs on his own people, refused to verify said WMDs were disposed of (sent to Syria) and used the sale of oil, allowed for humanitarian reasons, to fund his weapons proliferation. He also gave asylum to terrorists, most notably Abu Abbas the one responsible for the Achille Lauro. And we reduced the number of fighting age men from many surrounding countries that have nothing better to do than try and kill us and destroy our way of life. So I would not say we didn't accomplish anything.2 points

Exactly...and you sure get a lot of gun from an RIA for little money! Well said! :D Also, the Norinco is gunsmiths dream you get one for a $100 or 2 and get to hack on it any which way you want and learn about gunsmithing. They make a great learning platform. You can then work on your RIA to make it anything you want. Although I just kinda shoot em. Anyone can read a lot about 1911's from the "Pros" but I always take that with a grain of salt. Most of those so called experts talk about all the 100's of thousands of rounds you can put through one type or other and how much parts replacement and tuning will be needed and how crappy one brand is over another. No offense to those so called pros...wait is saying that an offense? :) oh well.... IMHO the average US shooter is not going to run a 100K rounds through his pistol unless he shoots competition and then those guys are gonna listen to the other shooters to help them decide what works or what's cool. For such high rounds guns it's amazing just how many malfunctions they seem to have on the range. Let's say the average shooter shoots 100 rounds a month. After all life does take up a lot of time and most of us can't get to the range every week plus prices have gone up unless your a reloader. So the average joe take a couple of boxes to range and goes bang. He checks out different brands and finds one that works absolutely flawlessly every single time he/she goes out. He has a dependable pistol that works every time. And.....1200 rounds a year X 10 years = 12k rounds and that's if he keeps up with every single week and that may or may not happen. To get to 100k rounds out it would take him 80 years and change. The only gun that has gone that far and is still dependable is the Colt. That being the case the jury is still out on other semi's so why worry about who has the better mousetrap? Find something that works, you can afford and like and go have fun! I carry a Colt Officers because I always have. I have some Colt's and an RIA and I'm looking at a 1911 Norinco in 9mm today for around $150 to get and have fun working on since I like messing with 1911's but will not mess with my "good" guns that already run fine. Ok boys n girls can we say Carry? :D2 points

I thought it was going to be the one where the kids asks how much the box of condoms are? The clerk says "$10 bucks". Kids says "I'll take them". Clerks rings it up and says "That'll be $11". Kid says "I thought you said they were $10. What's the extra dollar for?" Clerks says "That's for the tax". Kid says "Oh, I always wondered how you kept them on". (Clerk said tax, kid heard tacks. They are terrorists. Islam is not just a religion but is also a political ideology/system of government which makes it a highly dangerous organization because Islam's manifest destiny is to bring the entire world into submission to God...THEIR God and under THEIR system of government and only ONE government. This makes it incumbent upon the true follower of Islam to make this destiny a reality. The fact that not all Muslims will take up violence to bring about the submission of the world to Islam doesn't change what Islam is.2 points

The key phrase there is "never be solved" - it doesn't matter what the U.S. does or doesn't do. The hate will never die. I have no 10MM experience yet, but have the EAA Witness Elite on the way to me from Bud's. I'm just not a Glock fan, and I wanted more capacity than a singlestack offers. Any particular reason you're wanting to go the compact route? With a hot round like 10MM, I want all the barrel I can get to maximize velocity, and a heavier gun will be a little more tame.1 point
