  1. Just remember, if you can't get to a gun or pepper spray while pumping gas, there is a nozzle of " can't see anymore " in your hand.

  2. Pro Safety Tip, folks... if you find yourself in the middle of an attack like this, the gas pedal is on the right.  Put distance between yourself and the threat, immediately.  Don't pussyfoot through it hoping they're going to stop attacking you.  They aren't.

  8. If the races were reversed in this matter there's no way they would let a bunch of white people disrupt everything in cities all over the country. You know it and I know it.    Nobody would have heard about it in the first place.

  9. It depends:   Just throwing on a J and carrying it because it's small and light is lazy.   Learning the J well enough to effectively fight with it is gonna mean more work than a lazy person is gonna want to put in.  :pleased:

  10. Since the range rover vs.motorcyclists incident in NY I've moved to carrying a spare AR and a dozen mags in my primary vehicle just in case. The more videos I see of "protesters" surrounding and beating on vehicles traveling along public roadways the more I fear I might actually someday need it.

  11. They make these strides to move things into a technology age but still require you to carry more paper. It's stupid. I shouldn't have to print out my license. And the harvest log is on-line and kept up to date that should be sufficient.

  12. Protesters in the way? Isn't that what "bumpers" are for?  :dirty:

  13. I am so glad I found this place. Everyone I've met was buying or selling something, giving something to them or the other way around, and always ended up talking like I'd known them for years. We all know not everyone agrees on every subject but hell, what fun would that be? Proud to be here with every one of you (even the nutbags) and I can say that cuz I are one

Am So sick of non productive crap by douchebags in batman shirts that don't have a job to be at in the morning. Per Ron White, u can't fix stupid.....

  25. Math never takes the day off. A J Frame is 5 rounds....period. Not much margin for error there especially if you have more than one assailant. Fortunately most people will never have to pull a gun to defend themself........just like most people will never be in a serious car accident. But for those that are....they are generally glad they had a seatbelt on.   If you are positive that you will only ever be confronted with non committed bad guys who are more afraid of you than you are of them, and that they will all be loners who act alone, then a J frame will probably be fine. But when we start adding layers of difficulty (and levels of 21st century reality of street robbery) suddenly the bad guys are not the tweeker who will run at the first sign of resistance but more experienced street criminals who live a life of violence, the reality that pistols are poor stoppers and often take multiple hits to stop committed opponnents (look at the Michael Brown shooting....that took 6 or 7 to stop him)  and more than not there will be at least 1 more accomplice involved whether you see them initially or not....then add in the possibility of being somewhere when an active shooter decides to kick off a CNN level event and the REALITY that ISIS is planning similar type events for America like the Westgate Mall incident in Africa and suddenly that J Frame gets less and less appealing.   Having said that....if you feel a J Frame is all you need then rock on....and hope 5 is enough. A J Frame is certainly better than a sharp stick or a stearn word. But it is far from optimal. Just know the down sides and be prepared and have a plan to work around them.

  26. I agree. I screen shot a copy of my confirmation so it's in my picture gallery, also they email should pull up on your phone even with no service. If he runs your TWRA I.D. number it will pull up everything you've harvested. I mean seriously, how many places does that guy think we need to have it?

  30. This was posted last night on facebook by one of my wife's niece's. For those in other areas this was in Knoxville. "Tonight was a eye opening experience!! I am going to be more aware of my surroundings from now on. Getting gas at Shell on Chapman highway when I heard screaming. The girl in next stall was being attack by white guy with a knife! He was trying to get her in the car. Luckily she sprayed him with pepper spray and screamed! He did get away and was last seen running toward Woodlawn road.I stayed with the girl until cops came. I tried to calm her down but I know my hug didn't ease her. She is still on my mind, and I pray she finds peace! I think I am more shaking up by the fact that this happened so close to Lahela and I. It could easily been us, and I don't have pepper spray. Thank you GOD for everything!" Take care out there. Joe W.

  31. Sarcasm.   http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-TV/2014/11/26/Carson-Cops-Could-Be-Trained-to-Shoot-For-The-Legs   Says Wilson didn't have good enough training, and thinks cops need to be trained to shoot people in the leg when people charge at them.  The guy needs to go pick up a gun and show us how well that would work before making statements like that.  Those on that Carson '16 bandwagon better tread carefully.

  34. Update to this thread. I went with an Earthwood outdoor boiler. Arrived last Saturday and we finished up the install today. I turned off the HVAC heater and just left the fan on to blow across the exchanger. House is already 79 and I had to turn the fan off it was getting to hot inside. The unit itself is nice huge fire door to load full logs. Bring on some cold weather!

  36. Winchester makes 296, which is also the same powder as Hodgdon H110. Google it; discussed ad nauseum all over the web. Great choice for 357 mag, as well as 2400, and to a lesser extent AA9. The beauty of 357 is the ability to load everything from a light 38 load (using bullseye, titegroup, AA2, HP38) to medium loads (bullseye again, maybe Unique) and then the hot stuff mentioned previously. You would be well served to spend 15-30 minutes googling and just read some of the info out there. There will be great answers to questions you didn't even know to ask. :-)

  44. I used to, but don't any more. One day several years ago some of us were standing around in the shop BSing. A couple of local LEOs were in the group and somehow the subject came up. They both told us that the vast majority of stolen gun reports they do have the weapon stolen out of a vehicle. Also said that vehicle burglaries are far more common than home burglaries. To my way of thinking, leaving a weapon in something as insecure as a vehicle is irresponsible. I don't care about the cost of the lost firearm. I just don't like the idea of some criminal out there with one of my guns.

  46. You are absolutely correct. Cops are people too. There are good and bad, but just like in the media, "if it bleeds at leads." However, if a cop is a dick, he often ruins lives, not just days. We are actually right to shine light on the abuses of not only cops, but every public official who has the power to similarly ruin lives and does so. In general, I believe most cops are just like me; they just want to do their job and go home to their families who love and depend on them. As for the others, I have no more pity when they get busted than I do any other run of the mill thug. With all that being said, thanks for your service. You do a job I would not do; one that is completely necessary to the fabric of our society. I know it's thankless 99% of the time, unless someone catches it on film or makes a big deal out of it like in this story.

  49.   Not always. There was one real positive post this morning. And, I'm so tickled with Nashville Metro right now that I could turn cartwheels. They arrested five thievin' little bastards and got my #### back from them. Chased them down with a helicopter! I know that wasn't good samaritan stuff, but it sure was good cop stuff. In that case, I was hoping for at least one dick in the bunch.  :taser:
