  1. I was lucky to have adopted a beautiful baby boy beagle 15 years ago, he was just a little cute chubby one of six from the litter. I got him at the pound and he is a pure breed. Age caught up with him and today he couldn't take it anymore. The pic with the shirt was after his last surgery, the other one is from the rough life he had! :) Obie was his name and food was his game! This little guy got me through a lot in life and I am glad he crossed my path and brought me the joy and strength I needed. RIP little buddy!

  3. First he is Irish not British. Second he is a moron. American gun owners are among the target audience for his movie. This particular gun owner will not go see his movie. I hope other gun owners do the same.

  7. It is just amazing to me that these highly paid children playing make believe games think the fact that they are "stars" give them to right to stand and decry the very things that they push in the movies.   They can make millions acting, then have highly paid personal armed security. But it's not for the likes of you and me.   Yes, I know...protected free speech. But there is a point at which idiocy becomes so blatantly visible it is unbelievable.

  10. Okay, where's the punch line? I've lived in LaVergne for 23 years and my son was born and raised here. We have the highest water bills in the south, a ton of section 8 houses that have been abandoned, that or more that are empty from foreclosure and crime after crime that never shows up on the news. Not to mention the sign at the city limit should read "WELCOME TO LAVERGNE, THE NOLENSVILLE ROAD OF RUTHERFORD COUNTY"

  11.   I liked it all but that one line.  I won't fault someone holding an unfamiliar gun not being able to tell by the weight.    besides everything else you said,   add he should have kept his booger hook off the bang switch.

  14. First of all let me say my mom has dementia, and after my step dad died last year I moved her in with my family to take care of her.  Well at around 3 am I hear her in the living room crying so I get up to make sure she is ok, and when I open my bedroom door she looks up and points my .38 at me and pulls the trigger, talk about a crap your pants moment!!!!  She was looking for my sister as a baby and thought I had kidnapped her. Now luckily she didn't have time or didn't think to load the gun, but it could have been really bad.  I keep my old .38 in my gun cabnet unloaded because I don't carry it very often anymore and the spare keys I keep hung on the wall, out of the reach of my 4yr old son and grandson, but it never entered my head that I needed to put them where she couldn't get them, although in hindsight I guess it should have. I just post this because like I said I never thought about her getting into my guns, so maybe if there is someone out there in a similar situation it will get them thinking before they wake up like I did this morning.

  15. I have always loved this and think it might fit here: Dogs In Heaven? An old man and his dog were walking down this dirt road with fences on both sides, they came to a gate in the fence and looked in, it was nice grassy, woody areas, just what a 'huntin' dog and man would like, but, it had a sign saying 'no trespassing' so they walked on. They came to a beautiful gate with a person in white robes standing there. "Welcome to Heaven" he said. The old man was happy and started in with his dog following him. The gatekeeper stopped him. "Dogs aren't allowed, I'm sorry but he can't come with you." "What kind of Heaven won't allow dogs? If he can't come in, then I will stay out with him. He's been my faithful companion all his life, I can't desert him now." "Suit yourself, but I have to warn you, the Devil's on this road and he'll try to sweet talk you into his area, he'll promise you anything, but the dog can't go there either. If you won't leave the dog, you'll spend Eternity on this road." So the old man and dog went on. They came to a rundown fence with a gap in it, no gate, just a hole. Another old man was inside. "S'cuse me Sir, my dog and I are getting mighty tired, mind if we come in and sit in the shade for awhile?" "Of course, there's some cold water under that tree over there. Make yourselves comfortable" "You're sure my dog can come in? The man down the road said dogs weren't allowed anywhere." "Would you come in if you had to leave the dog?" "No sir, that's why I didn't go to Heaven, he said the dog couldn't come in. We'll be spending Eternity on this road, and a glass of cold water and some shade would be mighty fine right about now. But, I won't come in if my buddy here can't come too, and that's final." The man smiled a big smile and said "Welcome to Heaven." "You mean this is Heaven? Dogs ARE allowed? How come that fellow down the road said they weren't?" "That was the Devil and he gets all the people who are willing to give up a life long companion for a comfortable place to stay. They soon find out their mistake, but then it's too late. The dogs come here, the fickle people stay there. GOD wouldn't allow dogs to be banned from Heaven. After all, HE created them to be man's companions in life, why would he separate them in death?"

  16.   Yuppies who vote.   Maybe, just maybe these new shooters will start to think critically about firearms. Maybe, just maybe they'll start to question the anti-gun crap that so many are being force fed from birth. Maybe, just maybe, that will mean they'll think twice about pushing the Vote button for a gun grabber when they're the ones who would lose their hobby.   Anything that gets more people shooting is a win for the sport and for the politics. It provides an avenue to educate people about firearms whose only other source of information is Hollywood and Bloomberg. Being overt about the politics isn't always the best way. You need to get people to come around to it on their own, and you do that by making it accessible in an environment that's not confusing, intimidating, and foreign to anything they've ever done before.

  17. Don't discount your medication theory.  My wife has never had a TBI but does have issues with memory.  We are convinced that it is a side effect of some of the medication she is taking.  When you are taking multiple medications from different doctors, I don't think they really know all the side effect from the interaction of the different medications with each other.

  24. Prayers sent.   I lost my father not knowing where he stood with God. That was almost 11 years ago, and my heart aches over it to this day. I wish I'd have been able to talk to him about his faith before he left this world, but I myself was young in my salvation and the words just never came. I urge you to do everything you can to have that talk with your dad. Pray hard about it, go see your dad, and then let the Spirit guide you with the rest.   May God bless, comfort and strengthen you, your dad, and your family. In Jesus name, Amen.

  28. I'm OK with the plan, as long as there are some restrictions. Such as, no one person should be allowed to have more than ten cans. I mean, really, who needs more than ten anyway?   Also, corn of any kind is OK, but never any of those evil Black Beans. Those cans only exist to kill.

  29. Prayers for him and for you and the rest of the family. My father had the same diagnosis in 1977, had a lung removed, and lived until 1991. And I am a cancer survivor myself. It is not automatically a death sentence any longer. Have faith and pray.

  31. I would make contact the VA TBI clinic in Nashville.  I am not sure but I thing even if it is not service connected they will see you for evaluation.  I was sent there due to some questionnaire they did prior to an appointment I had.  They doc there did a very good assessment which of course indicated I had no TBI.

  34. I was only commenting on why the AG released a letter stating the convention center wasn't covered under 1311, because if it was ever determined to be covered under 1311, because the state is part owner, it would prohibit posting via 1359, and via 1311.   I'm not trying to say it is or isn't a civic center or other recreational building... that probably came up, because to the best of my recollection the council vote on the Music City Convention Center may have mentioned the words civic center for use by the public as well as other things ;)   My point is, 39-17-1311 is an often overlooked law, lots more stuff fall into it other than swing sets and walking trails...  plus often folks running the parks departments don't even realize they may share ownership with another 'legislative body' and therefore can't legally post under 1311.   And yet again is another argument for doing away with the opt-out for 1311 altogether...

  37. My dads grand mother had the same issue...I can say from experience thats its better to have the conversation while they are able to have it. If you wait too long it might not even register. You cannot have the conversation too early but you can certainly have it too late.

  41. Interesting. With have something similar in Orlando but it's not that upscale. It does have a lounge area where members can hang out and socialize. It's not really my thing but I can understand why people like it.   I do find it interesting that they won't even bring up politics. That bothers me a little. I hope they at least support the GOA and NRA. This isn't a hobby where politics can be ignored in my opinion.
