  2. I really wish the police wouldn't release the address of the home that was broken into.  The last thing someone in that situation should want to worry about is someone coming to avenge their friend or family member.

  6.   Handle the load?  The pressure of all 9mm are within a safe threshold, and again the +P threshold is higher but all +P ammo falls within that range as well.  Note the kel tec advises not shooting a lot of +P in their guns.   Bullet mass does not increase or decrease pressure.  Instead, velocity (powder charge) is adjusted to keep pressure about the same.   The problems with heavy bullets include feeding problems in some models (nothing to do with kel tec, many guns can have the issue) more than anything else.  As someone said, velocity suffers but a +P 147 is still on par with a standard pressure 115 grain -- its not going to be reduced to a 380 but it may not be what you wanted in terms of performance.

  8. 2015 is officially the year of the AK for me. This year alone I have purchased two Century (CAI) "Iraqi Contractor" Romanian WASR 10's, a 2013 production Century (CAI) Romanian WASR 10, Century (CAI) Romanian RPK AES10B, + a Yugoslavian N-PAP DF. I have another Century (CAI) "Iraqi Contractor" Romanian WASR10 + a Century (CAI) Romanian Draco AK pistol en route to my FFL as I write this. As you can see, I am a fan of the weapon system through + through. At the present moment, I am debating the purchase of a Arsenal SLR107FR but I am stuck on if I should pick the variant with plum furniture or all black. Decisions, decisions! Without further ado, I present to you my humble selection of AK's. 9. I didn't plan on buying a new gun today. Nope, just got a VP9 and had no damn intention at all to buy something else. Didn't work out that way though. I'm a sucker for FDE and had the misfortune of stumbling across a new SIG 320C in full FDE. 10 minutes later I was walking out the door with it. Feels great but won't get to shoot it for a couple days.

  11. still hard to find any here.  sometimes sportsman's and academy sports has it.  but they have a low box rate.  stopped at one of my local wal marts and asked the manager for some.  the manager stated they got some yesterday.  it is all ways yesterday at wal mart.  the manager stated the same guys were lined up before 7am to buy it.   they get the heads up from the wal mart app.   the manager stated some get to the store at 5 am to wait at the gun counter for the ammo to be put out at 7 am.  one day it will level out and the stores will be full.  I hope the same old guys lose their butts and will have to eat all the 22 lr ammo they got for resale when the supply and prices come back to normal.

  15. Prag, actually your G19 would be the ideal CCP gun. Might as well shoot the biggest gun that is legal in the division.    When the IDPA" powers that be" decided to add CCP their logic was the same thing I have said repeatedly.....the G19 is probably the most carried Glock yet you almost NEVER see one being used at a big match. At the IDPA Nationals the G19 was the #1 carry gun that people filled out on the "what do you really carry " survey....yet there was only ONE competitor actually shooting a G19. WHY? Because if you can shoot a G34 in SSP why would you shoot a G19? And if you can shoot a G34 (or a full size 9mm 1911) in ESP why would you shoot a G19?    So when they wrote the CCP "specs" they pretty much measured a G19 and said THAT is the max size for this division. And limiting it to 8 rounds makes it single stack friendly. That is why some people are referring to it as the G19 division. And since ESP mods are legal for CCP then your stippled grip is legal for CCP. If I were you I'd shoot CCP with your G19.

  22. Well, I just had my first experience with online sales frenzy so intense it knocked out the site/servers(?). I've been waiting to find some extra mags for my Scorpion, and they are the proverbial "hen's teeth" right now. But I found that CZ-USA was putting some 30 rounders on sale today at 1PM. So I started watching the site about 12:30 to be safe. You know...hoping for early, just refreshing occasionally. Well...at 12:54 by my pc clock, the CZ site went BOOM. Died and gone. Not that they and I weren't expecting it to happen. Servers overloaded immediately. We(and Thanks to Steelharp for helping me out) sat and waited for just short of an hour to get onto the site to place and order. Even then the page changes were really slow. But Steelharp got thru, then so did I. So now have some 30 rd mags for it! At least will in a few days. Checked again after completing the order and getting a confirmation...the item # was gone. WhenI started trying, the on hand was 776, so at least that many went out quickly. Internet sales are fun.

  24. Well, keep in mind that the police have admitted that he wasn't buckled in when being transported in the back of their van/truck. That is not in doubt and is a violation of their departmental regulations. He was probably bounced around inside the vehicle. This is apparently intentionally done often enough that there is a cutesy term for it called giving a suspect a 'rough ride'. Baltimore police have lost cases where suspects were injured when given 'rough rides' in the past. Even if his original injuries were from falling off the fence the 'rough ride' could have exacerbated them - and that is if the injuries weren't actually caused by the 'rough ride'. So, yeah, if the 'rough ride' or anything else those officers did resulted in or contributed to the suspect's death then there has to be some accountability.

  32.   I had to chuckle last night when, on Channel 8 news (I only watch because Amanda Hara is so danged hot) the anchors said something to the effect of 'even though the curfew has been in effect for about an hour, now, people are still rioting...'  They then cut to a shot of a street in Baltimore that was entirely empty except for two police officers standing on the sidewalk and a couple of official-looking vehicles driving by.  The anchors continued with '...well, obviously not in this shot but they are still rioting, elsewhere.'

  35. Ten days? We had to submit Use of Force Reports and any required Internal Reports (which were also subject to Discovery Hearings) and all other Incident Reports before the end of shift. The rare exception being if you'd been injured in the incident and sent to the emergency room for treatment and were sent home afterwards. Of course come the next day that paperwork was expected and a prudent officer had filled it out to either be picked up by a supervisor or turned in the next day at work.

  38. Not sure if this thread is still hot or not.   My name's Rachel. My husband John and I own Fighting Sheep Dog in Claxton/Powell. We're a full service gunsmith, but our showroom specializes in ARs, AR parts, and AR accessories. I don't say this to advertise. This information is pertinent to this conversation.   My husband does all of the gunsmithing. I handle customer service, transfers, inventory, social media, marketing, and everything else.   So, when you walk in the door, want to build an AR, or have questions about special ordering a firearm, I'm your Huckleberry.   While I don't think it's right, I would agree that women are held to a higher standard when it comes to firearms. I have some older gentlemen who only want to speak to my husband. And if they are older guns - that's a good thing because I just don't know that much about them!   However, if you walk in and want to build an AR, want to know why some upper receivers have forward assists and some don't, want to know about barrel twist rates, or anything else - I'll run circles around most men you know.   I write all of the blogs on our website, handle the newsletter, and am constantly trying to find new and innovative pieces for our shelves.   I'm GLAD to see another female FFL holder coming forward! Where's your store going to be?

  40.   I know a fair number of gay folks, and you're right. We're not all flaming liberals, in fact a lot of us just want to live our lives, protect our families, and be left alone the same as anyone else. I've introduced a number of gay friends to firearms and shooting because as they say, "armed gays don't get bashed". We're just like everyone else.    The right has traditionally bet on the hard line traditionalists to be a larger number of voters than right leaning gay folks, and by the numbers they're right. The most optimistic estimates say that gay/ trans people make up 10-14% of the US population, and some surveys are as low as 2-3%. When you break that group down further into active voters, then conservative active voters, the right has had a much larger well to tap by toeing the traditionalist line. They can bark about how 'the gays' are trying to destroy marriage and hate Jesus, and it's easy to motivate everyone that claims to be a Christian to the polls because they think Jesus may not love them as much if they extend some grace to the evil gays.    The left is just as bad- they scream about how the right is just out to get gay people at all costs, and they make it sound like we're about to be the victims of some type of horrible ethnic cleansing which drives every Subaru driving, tree hugging, granola munching liberal gay or not out to the polls to 'protect' us poor, stupid queers that can't stand up for ourselves. It's insulting, but this is the place modern gay people find themselves. We're a convenient political football that neither party really wants to take care of, they're both too busy kicking us back and forth to pump up their own fans.

  41. This is ALL about being able to get free stuff and "hey look what I did" for street cred.  Just watched a stolen vehicle get driven through a burning barricade multiple times and stopped in the middle of the intersection so the thugs could get seen and then have their rep points go up a few rat points.                 They needed an excuse and got it just like every city in America will now as new black/white interactions occur.    Ima go waste some cows and burn a barn now rural style cuz I got dissed by the Indian dude at the quickmart.....its how I roll.

  42. This may be a minority opinion; but i don't care what happens in Baltimore... A quick check of the history of Baltimore will tell ya that it has been under Democrat control since 1967... That means that for 48 years the "best and brightest" including the one they have now have been in firm control of this cesspool... I think it's interestin that since 2007, they have had two black women mayors...   I thought that this bunch would have turned Baltimore into a paradise by now... I guess not...     There have always been two Baltimores; the one downtown around Fort McHenry and the harbor basin, and everywhere else... It looks pretty dangerous to me in both Baltimores...   Looks ta me like the citizens of Baltimore deserve better than this; but they are gonna have to change their attitudes and votin habits...   non carin leroy

  44. Or perhaps we will see the reemergence of militant black groups arming themselves against a perceived injustice in the same way that the cattle rancher and the mining family stood their ground. There are already a group suggesting this type of action in Crittenten (?) county Arkansas. I'm certain the outcome won't be the same. These incidents have been happening for years. If it were not for modern technology, the general public would still be believing that the suspects ran, tried to take my gun, resisted, went in his/her pocket in a threatening manner, reached into the console too fast. If you've lived in a community where you've seen the cops beat the hell out of people for minor offenses or if your family members tell you stories about the cops violating their rights, whether it's justified or not, I can imagine depending on circumstances running may seem like a viable option.
