  1. Update: Took the pistol to the range today. It ran perfect. Tried WWB, Remington UMC, Silver Bear, Freedom Munitions fmj, and Freedom Munitions loaded with the Hornady XTP bullet. Everything cycled fine and my wife's groups are getting smaller too. I was not happy to have to send the gun in, but it seems like it is good to go now and the turn around time was really fast.

I've really come to like it and the reddish tint it has.

  5.   That's like saying you want to switch to Catholicism because you want a religion where it's ok to drink, but no other reason.  It's offensive to Catholics, and equally offensive to us who like our Glocks.  :)

  6. Please don't start raving about how beautiful, accurate and smooth CZ pistols are. CZ's are highly sought-after as it is, and a lot of models don't stay on the market for long, and if you miss your chance, you're back on the waiting list. If you get more people excited about CZ's now, it will just get worse for us!   Keep moving on. Nothing to see here. Just heavy steel pistols, nothing special. Move on. Look there, new Glocks!                  Just kidding. Glad you're enjoying it! I love my CZ's, and want more. It's the CZ fever! :)

  10.   I truly hope this fails again. No more precedents regarding federal gun control of any kind should be set. A positive one is only a heartbeat different from its opposite.   The only gun action I'm in favor of would involve repeal, not addition.   - OS

  12. Why don't they make all signs on private property have force of law?  I'd really like to see someone get arrested and fined $500 for having a candy bar past a "No Food or Drink" sign.  If its good for one sign, why isn't it good for all signs?

  13. No, this is actually true. Russian guns were designed to eat everything from .22LR to small artillery shells without the pesky need to swap barrels. They also never, ever, ever, ever, never ever jam. I once saw YouTube video of a Spetznatz Soyuz door gunner who filled his AK47 barrel and chamber with Quik-Crete, let it set for 3 days, then successfully fired a magazine on full auto from it, underwater, upside down, with no hands. It was on the Internet so you know it's true.

  14. IMO signs should have no teeth legally. If someone carries past a sign and doesn't leave when asked, trespassing laws would apply.

  18. Personally I think TGO has beat this into the ground.  I'm also pretty sure that were I him, I wouldn't necessarily want my info out there on the Internet.  I'm not e-famous the way he is, but it's been done to me because of TGO and it really pissed me off.   Not that the information about either of us isn't readily accessible to the people who want to dig, but when people on TGO, blogs, Facebook and other social outlets just beat the issue to death, it does nothing BUT draw more attention to it.  You guys might as well light up a spotlight and swing it on his house at this point, because that's effectively what all of these threads are doing.

  19.     Or you could just remove the section entirely because trespass law already covers this.

  20. I wrote a piece about an experience this past week.  This type of thing was nothing unique or special, but it does paint the picture of how thin the line is between shots fired or just handcuffs.

  21.   Printed off documents, went to multiple places and finally talked to the right person.  The DMV slugs are basing their decision off of what they have been told by a coworker that had bad information and that has propagated through the entire system and at this point I doubt they will ever fix it.  Mentioned to the OP that if I had to, I would walk in there with a lawyer if necessary just to prove the point...   The law says "permanent resident" and USCIS even states it on their everify site: https://e-verify.uscis.gov/esp/help/evhelppermrescardnumber.htm     It even describes what the card looks like for idiots that can't tell the difference between that and an EBT.   Just because it has a different expiration date, doesn't make it invalid.

  23.   I don't think the government should be enforcing private property rules. Period. There should be no law to enforce any form of a no-firearms sign any more than there should be to enforce a jacket and tie requirement at a restaurant.

  32. "I feel sorry for the guy, because the kid is just as much to blame. "   I have to disagree. The kid is just that, a kid, and that is what they do. Some might say well my kid wouldn't or that is not the way I raised my kid but kids do things and when you ask them why they say "I don't know". I was raised "right" but I still did stupid things and it is simply by the grace of God that I made it to adulthood.

  33. Thanks for the info on that, the adapters were expected, my boss warned me about that part last week.  I was more concerned with getting the can itself and registering it before any changes are made to the trusts.  After seeing that hybrid that ranges from 9mm + .308 I am going to get it.  The only other caliber I want is .45 which would go on my pistols and I may get a dedicated can for those.  Largest focus is the MP5 stuff at the moment, the pistol cans can wait until later... Figured I've never used one in nearly 40 years, so it's no rush.  However, the MP5 thing is just a straight up don't need, but always wanted thing and had the extra funds around so I'm going full-throttle :D

  35. Again I will say that being proficient with whatever platform and round you choose (assuming we are talking about typical defensive rounds (9mm, 40,.357 sig, 45 ACP, .38 special, .357 Magnum) is more important than WHICH of those rounds you choose,

  36. Either way, I'd sure like to see the sign law neutered in some fashion.  The park law last year opened up a lot of places for legal carry and neutering the sign law would do the same thing.

  37. if I was a republican candidate I'd admit the obvious. " Aside from hippa issues the EO thing is a bunch of nothing.  And the hippa issues can be dealt with if I win."   the only people who think Zero did anything, well they are ignorant on gun issues to begin with.

  38. PDs won't issue "smart guns". There is a reason. Even 50 years from now the technology won't be reliable enough to bet your life on. People who talk of "smart guns" being a viable solution are the same people who say, "shoot them in the leg rather than shoot to kill." These are the people who watch too many movies and believe it's reality; stupid people. Their opinions don't matter any more than the opinions of a toddler.

  39. Speaking of Smart Guns, here a couple links:   How Obama's edict will resurrect smart guns  (from a recent Slashdot article)   Of course, we've seen it before. Here some spiffy marketing.   A gun that defaults to a non-firing state? I think only the free market will show how that will turn out. Unfortunately, it may lead to several deaths before politicians and early adopters will re-think Smart Gun technology.   Perhaps it's time to lay in a good supply of good old-fashioned "mechanical guns"....

  40. Picked her up this afternoon! Didn't have a chance to do some good photo's yet, but even the bad one's make it look pretty decent. I have to admit, it is even better than I expected. The stock is incredible in person. I think I need medium instead of high rings, but I'll see how it goes. Now to just get out and shoot it. The build specs are: Action: Stiller Precision 2500x RBLP Barrel: Shilen Ratchet .900 Stock: Lidgard in Paduak Trigger: Flavio Fare' Tuner: Harrell Scope: Sightron SIII 10-50x60mm Gunsmith: Richard Gorham Action Bedding: Tom Meredith Rest: Arnold Machine Killough Shooting Sports is where I bought all of the components and they did the ammo testing.

  42. From all I have seen, these FFL "clarifications" will not affect the average gun owner.  If you have a gun in your own collection that you decide you don't want, there should be no reason you cannot still sell that gun without having to conduct a background check.  Same as it has been for years.  Most of us have nothing to worry about.   However, the things that do concern me are the AG's statements regarding the Justice Department's intent to prosecute some "marginal cases" (in the words of the AG).  I would expect somewhere in the next 12 months to see some guy arrested and charged who has sold a few guns at a gun show (or multiple gun shows) or has posted multiple guns for sale on the internet (since that seems to be a big issue for this Administration).  I suspect the AG intends to push the limit of this and make an example of somebody.     Ultimately, it is the "facts and circumstances" issue.  Very similar to trying to define justified self-defense.  There is no bright line.  The closer you get to the gray area, the more risk you take.  The more guns you sell, the worse it looks.  The more times to sell (i.e., you sold gun or guns at multiple gun shows), the worse it looks.  Best bet is to stay away from that gray area as best you can.  One gun here and there shouldn't be an issue.

  43.   It basically clarifies what is already the law.  If you're in the business of selling guns you get a license.   For example, those guys you see at every single gun show buying and selling guns who always have tables in the same spot.  They're going to have to get a license as they are obviously "in the business".

  44. I've had one of these for a few years and I really like it for use as a supplemental/emergency heat source.  I bought the adapter hose that allows you to run it off of a large LP tank, and I think that is well worth the money.  Like you said, it is quiet and puts out some nice heat.

  45. I hope you have some source of combustion air for that heater, even though it's supposed to shut itself off when it detects insufficient oxygen.  I wouldn't trust my life to something a heater is supposed to do.

  46. Update:     FedEx just dropped the pistol back off at my office.  I shipped it to them with the pistol and magazines only.  They sent it back with a Glock tupperware box, complete with cleaning brush etc.. According to the invoice they replaced both magazines, the slide stop, the trigger bar, trigger housing and ejector.  I will report back once we can get it to the range.

  47. I wouldn't replace the motor, I'd have it repaired/rewound. It will cost you far less than a new motor. Look for electric motor repair shops in your area.

  48. I'd be pissed too.  You buy Glock for reliability.  If you wanted something that can be ammo picky and unreliable you could get some fancy 1911 and then you'd at least have something that's aesthetically pleasing to look at while you're clearing malfunctions.  LOL!
