Casting is not about cost for me. It is about always being able to shoot regardless of what the market does. Another is it is a skill that can come in handy. I swap Bullets and molds around so we can try out a bullet before buying. But if there is one thing I can say it is this. No matter what you do you will never save any money but what you get to do is shoot more.2 points

Anyone listed on the trust can be in possession of trust held items. Who's listed on the trust that ain't getting deployed? That's where I would say they should be locked up.2 points

Agreed The current state of our college's frankly scares me. Going back to the ancient greek and roman theologans, rigorous debate was the purpose of having the discussion, and it was the sharing of thoughts and idea's that produced new-found knowledge! The fact that one can no longer express a divergent opinion, much less debate one, makes 'higher education' the ultimate oxymoron. - K2 points

I love doing my depriming on my little Lee Reloader press. I got it this little gem on sale for around $23 a few years ago and have no regrets. I just started wet tumbling with SS media, so depriming before tumbling is a no-brainer now. I don't know if anybody already makes these or not, but if they do I couldn't find one for my press. For the record, I probably spent more time making this than I'll save in the first couple of years, but it was fun and I was bored. I still need to come up with a better way to clamp the press in place, but my C-clamps are occupied at the moment. 1 point

Im back!!! Awhile back I trolled around here on a regular basis. I fell out of the loop due to no ones fault but my own. Some may remember me and most wont. For the past 12 years I'v earned my gun money as a Firefighter / A-EMT for The City of Milan. Im married to a wonderful lady that tolerates my addiction for all things that go BANG. I have a 3 y/o daughter that hands down is the true love of my life. Im an avid hunter of all things with a season and enjoy sending hot lead down range accompanied by the smell of gunpowder. My collection of scary black guns that hold unlimited amounts of ammunition has steadily grown over the past year or so to include my latest which is a 18" 6.8 SPC. I currently have another build that is awaiting its BCG and 24" hurricane fluted .204 barrel. My taste in firearms is scattered over a broad spectrum and have a special place in my heart for the pre 64 model 70. Most of my neighbors tolerate me and the others have came to grips with that, calling the law only makes things worse. I pay for my bullets and have the right to practice the fine art of gun control, thats just the way it is. Im looking forward to getting back in the TGO circle where the vast ocean of knowledge has kept me from dying of thrust on more than one occasion..1 point

To anyone who can find me an in stock 50 BMG bolt gun. Local or nationwide, don't care. It can be an AR15 upper or complete gun. Single shot or magazine fed. I will pay you when I order from your link. This is a no BS offer, I guarantee I will pay and you can trust me. I will not buy then refuse to pay. If multiple posts have the same link then the one with the earliest time stamp will get the finders fee.1 point

I got an official answer from the ATF. 1) I have to be added to the trust and 2) all items have to have a 5320.20 temporary change of address filled out to the address they are going to be stored at. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Does anyone else read books as they are going to bed? I read every night on my kindle and most nights I am sleepy within 20-30 minutes. I often will actually fall asleep and then wake up and put my kindle away. The worse nights are when I fall asleep and then the kindle wacks me in the face. Something about reading really slows my mind down (which is normally racing.)1 point

I haven't followed the story much but what about the injured officer and witness reports of bam bam bam bam, a whole "gun clip, said by a witness" was shot? How was he injured and how many times did security shoot at him? P.S. All jokes aside we really can't judge security, not knowing what they saw at the time and being a nutcase is no excuse for what he did, he did put a lot of people in real danger for that stunt and should be charged for that. I'm trying hard now not to make snap judgments on news stories because we all know what they report from the first is often far from what really happened. "Likely", security saw a man with a gun, correctly assumed he was going to commit a mass shooting and took action to stop him.1 point

I'm fine with the arena as a private entity declaring their venue off limits to guns. Private property is private property. I'm fine with the RNC declaring the convention off limits to guns if their contract with the arena doesn't prohibit that, since the convention is a private event. That might not be the smartest move politically given their base, but it's not wrong from a legal perspective. What I'm not fine with is the Secret Service getting to put a gun-free radius around whoever they happen to be providing protective services for. That's the government infringing on the lawful carrying of arms by those vetted by the individual state, or states in the case of reciprocity. The Secret Service can give all the pre-packaged statements they want about security, and the event being secure. They can't guarantee 100% safety, and as a protective services provider, the only ones they have to care about protecting are individuals under their protection. In other words, out of the thousands of people attending the convention, only a handful will be protected by the Secret Service, who will ultimately have control over pretty much anyone working security for the event. Everyone else just has to hope things work out for the best. Not exactly how the idea of individual protection works.1 point

Been meaning to build a cannon for a while now, just haven't got the gumption. The 50 I just ordered should settle down my urge to build a cannot for a while though.1 point

Are you sand bagging the gun on a rock solid table? Keep in mind, an over & under 30-06 will more than likely not be a great group shooter since the barrels are normally at least joined near the muzzle, that raises hell with holding consistent barrel harmonics by way of barrel heat expansion and other wise. If you can hold a 4" 5 shot group at 100, Id say you pretty much maxed out the design abilities of the gun. Especially if you are using both barrels alternatively for the 100 yard group. Expensive double barrel shotguns like a Win 21 get a lot of shop time having the barrels bent to the point of aim before soldering them together. Imagine how critical the barrel join must be on rifle barrels for matching point of aim since virtually all rifle barrels will have some slight bend in them once taper turned.1 point

So who really gives a rip about what a geratic communist former dictator has to say about a poor excuse of a lame duck POTUS? One's past it and only kept for political expedency to his younger broters office. The others an embaressment who continues to appeal to the SJW wannbees and liberal media. Heck, even his race affiliated supporter/advocates who once believed his retoric and promises are now disillosioned. Reality set in for native Cubans generations ago, its setting in now here...1 point

Bho is a fellow traveler, the problem is his lack of manhood and inability to be man enough to say what he really means. He is the weakest man without a soul that I have ever seen and Fidel doesn't want the cause to be belittled by such a piss ant. Of course, that's just my opinion.1 point

This goes to show you that badass can come in small packages. Look at his height relative to the rifle. Simo "White Death" Hayha, sniper during The Winter War between Finland and the Soviet Union. Most of you probably already know that he is the greatest sniper of all time. One for the ladies. If she were your girl friend, she isn't the type that you want to piss off. She is now an anti-poacher in Africa. Special Forces in Vietnam. I tried to think of a way to say these guys aren't badass and just couldn't come up with anything.1 point

Sometimes we think too much when trying for a group on paper. The conscious mind can disengage a little when just blasting targets for fun and things magically happen a lot smoother.1 point

Get you some hornady lever evolution boolits for it. Easily extends the range of the 30-30 to 200+yards. A 160grn bullet going 2400fps sighted in 3" high at 100 will be 0.2" low at 200 and -12.1 at 300.1 point

You shouldn't need to clean it off. You lube only the outside of the case and by the time its been through a sizer die, a powder die, a seating die, and a crimping die the lube is pretty much gone. The traces that remain are probably beneficial to mag operation and feeding. Lube should be "barely there" to being with before it goes into the first die. I use hornady's lube which is really just lanolin and something ... microwave it for a few sec and touch the lube with my finger and roll the case over that is sufficient. You can't even see it on the case.1 point

If you guys grew up in the south like I did, then I'm sure you guys can find it in your hearts to feel bad for the guy. When I was younger I did way more dangerous stuff and lived to tell the tale, only because I was a lucky sumbitch.1 point

I struggled with the cost narrative for 20+ years. Then Sandy Hook happened, and the ammo all dried up. I threw out the ROI, and changed the prism I looked through from a cost model to a necessity model. I basically went from zero of having nothing to having everything I would ever need to reload every caliber I had, and I purchased probably a lifetime supply of primers, bullets, brass, all within a month along with the capital to reload. I have never regretted, and I learned so much after reloading about 10+ different calibers. Now fast forward to now. Its great that I have all those supplies, plus I have a choice to buy factory or reload, and I have the experience and knowledge to reload. Never again will be caught with my pants down!1 point

Yep, I have all of their stuff and remain a huge fan. I actually only got into them right before Disarm the Descent, so I kinda' came in in the middle of the changeup back to Jesse. I like all of it, except ther very first album which was pretty rough. I seem to find bands later in their careers, skipping a lot of the "you changed, I hate you now" stuff. The first Metallica album I bought was Reload. Got into that, then went backwards and I love all of their stuff, short hair or long. :-)1 point

Depends on how they are killed. If you get the drop on em and they never know you are there, the pork tastes pretty durn good. If they've been running and their adrenaline is up they aren't much use for anything but sausage. As a rule, sows and younger animals have better meat for chops and hams.1 point
