We had a gun conversation at work. It went something like this: When I arrived the supervisors and the owners were standing around. They ask if I had a gun. I said yes, it’s in the car. They ask if I would please put it on. A co-worker had carried a shot gun into the facility, walked out back, cranked off a couple of rounds and left. He then called and threatened to kill a couple of people. When the cops went to his house to arrest him there was an armed standoff before he was taken into custody. Situations like that will educate people that have never been around real violence or violent people. Luckily no one was killed.3 points

" Was the room cold when you took the pic?" " Also, stop objectifying me! I'm more than just eye candy dammit!" Damn! I'm glad I wasn't drinking any coffee when I read these!3 points

This bumper sticker would deter gun thieves but you might have more problems with vandals. Anybody want to test one of these out?. I don't think I could even stomach this one in the garage, but then again I don't even have a garage you can call home and ask my wife.2 points

I'm gonna say DLC because I think it aesthetically fits the knife better. I'm in for whatever the serial number I got on my magic is. I'll update when I get home in a couple weeks unless you know what it is.2 points

It is Hampton of course. I was raised in Williamsburg and moved to TN in 2005. I don't think one time my parents said in the 29 years I lived there "Hey, you wanna drive to Hampton/Newport News for such and such?" Stickers get stuck on stuff in the garage not on my vehicles.2 points

I understand minimizing risk. Hell, I carry a gun for that exact reason. However, I absolutely refuse to live in fear. I will not scour every aspect of my outward appearance of all signs that might possibly single me out as a gun owner. I don't want guns in the hands of criminals any more than the next guy, but I have insurance to cover my losses in the event of a robbery. I hope I never have to use the insurance, just like I hope I never have to use my gun to defend myself/family. Until that happens...KEEP CALM AND CARRY2 points

I'm a firm believer in NOT advertising for gun companies and the NRA on my truck etc. I also limit shirts etc to when I'm going to the range etc.2 points

My situation is a little different considering that I have a Sirius radio in my truck but I couldn't go without it ever again. It is one of the few things that keeps me even moderately sane out here on the road.2 points

A Wave Of The Future A big earthquake with the strength of 8.1 on the Richter scale hits the Middle East. Two million Muslims die and over a million are injured. Iraq, Iran and Syria are totally ruined and the governments don't know where to start with providing help to rebuild. The rest of the world is in shock. Britain is sending troops to help keep the peace. Saudi Arabia is sending oil & monetary assistance. Latin American countries are sending clothing. New Zealand and Australia are sending sheep, cattle and food crops. The Asian countries are sending labor to assist in rebuilding the infrastructure. Canada is sending medical teams and supplies. President Donald Trump, not to be outdone, is sending two million replacement Muslims. God Bless President Trump.2 points

Specwar is great but technology has advanced. Hyrbid is cool but friggin huge. Usually one thing that does everything doesn't really do anything that well. I'm sure it's a great can for what it is. I like the concept. Saker is is over engineered in a good way. But it's loud. Omega takes the best of all the cans and sums it up into one. :-)1 point

Lifetime guarantee, headquartered here in Nashville, TN, and made in the U.S.A. This is the 75QT Orca next to a 60 QT Igloo Cube the Orca has my 4 year old in it..1 point

Well, if it's a no guns zone and that prevents violence, then this must just be a false flag. in all seriousness, prayers sent for the victims and their families. May the perpetrator be brought to swift justice.1 point

These are the kinds of journalism stories that need to be prosecuted, they should not be protected by any freedom of the press. And not because it was a LEO involved, but because they make up facts that they know are lies. When a reporter puts lies into their story, it has the power to incite a social response such as what happened in Ferguson (yes I know it wasn't a news story there). It can also have an impact an whether someone gets prosecuted or not depending on how they slant a SD story. While we were in Iraq, there were many reporters imbedded with some of the units there, most reporters followed the guidelines while others not only reported slanted stories but put the troops in danger. A few of the stories named the units involved and broke down the association of some classified units. There was a constant change to Task Force names just to try and keep it under wraps. But while highly frowned upon, it was a Freedom of the press issue so not many formal complaints were filed, though some reporters would lose access now and then.1 point

Freedom of the press should not be a pass to lie to the public. Outright lies or misleading journalism should be challenged both legally and in the court of public opinion such as is being done here. I can understand left or right leaning stories (reporters are somewhat human), but to be actively deceiving the public with omissions and lies should not be tolerated. To me Freedom of the press should be to let them report the truth, no matter who it's against.1 point

But the press lying to people does effect others exactly infringing on their rights, and they hide behind the 1st while doing it. And to your point of believing what they see/hear, how else are they supposed to form an opinion? No one on this earth can be everywhere at once to witness everything that happens. That's why integrity in journalism is so important to be given the protection in the first place. That freedom was given to them because the English Monarchy did not allow them to print things against them; not so that they can make-up whatever bull they felt like printing.1 point

Meh on the content. I've got about 10 or so channels out of however many they offer. I just wanted to get away from 10 minute commercial breaks. I don't do the mobile app stuff. Nice on a 10 hour road trip to have your stations.1 point

Unfortunately, museums aren't always the best source for preservation information, you can find many horror stories on the net about neglected items in museum inventories that were ruined by decades of improper storage in basements and such. Museums, like all entities, have budget restrictions, many of the items donated to them have been ruined by lack of care and preservation throughout the years. Longtime collectors with deep pockets often do a far better job of preservation than any museum ...1 point

Dang. I just realized - even with a 12rd tube, I'm going to have to reload the shotgun on two stages. I guess I'd better practice that some. Looking forward to a great match! And really - only four people squadded and preregistered?!?! Come on folks - I know you're coming. Make Alan's life easy and preregister and squad yourself on up!1 point

Interesting experiment. I misappropriated 6 of my wife's thick rubbery hair bands. The barrel is 28.5" Urban Rifle Supply in a Ruger 1022 receiver, Kidd bolt, Boyds stock with Rimfire Technologies bedding system, Japan vintage Tasco 8.5-32-44 AO Target Dot, DNZ one-piece scope rings, trigger by Plinker4life. Barrels, regardless of how thick, oscillate 360 degrees when the bullet is fired through it. By moving the rubber bands over the length of the barrel changes can be made in the oscillation - that is theory. I wonder if it would improve centerfire benchrest rifles? I've used rubber o-rings and rubber castration rings, but these hair bands seem to work more dramatically. I was shooting some slightly larger than one hole groups with the bands as you see them, I moved 2 up within 1" of the end of the barrel and the groups was still tight but lower. The barrel is supported in front of the receiver and has a closed cell foam barrel pressure pad 1" behind the end of the stock.1 point

And deceptive "journalism" can damage the business. Opinion is one thing. Although, based on what I can tell, lying to a liberal base is perfectly acceptable. Look at Hillary, and our POS in Chief.1 point

This is exactly why I view the media as nothing but propaganda for their political wings (and the views of their corporate owners) anymore. It would be nice to get real news with all the facts and no bias. You know, real investigative reporting and letting the facts speak for them selves so viewers could make informed decisions. But that isn't happening now and I do not see it happening anytime in the near future.1 point

Glock 20 or 29 are good options. While not as thin as a single stack, the Gen 4 frames fit good in my medium size hands. Or you could get one of these... Guncrafters No Name 10mm Melonite1 point

My very first EDC once I got my HCP was the 29. I've never carried anything else. But man oh man I love my 20. I have a Gen 4 and Monkey has a Gen 3. The feel in the hand is amazing, low recoil and like I said, it just feels good. Honestly, just get both! ;-)1 point

That's smart and what I may do. I may try and type up a short letter simply thanking them for their attention and then express to them that although they may have no interest at all, and that I respect that decision if that so be, but that I would be honored to be able to give them a safe introduction to firearms and correct some facts that I feel the media typically skews the truth on. I personally feel that I doubt either would take me up on it but I do feel it would be a good thing.1 point
