  1. Toward the end of the Sunday service, the Minister asked, "How many of you have forgiven your enemies?" 80% held up their hands. The Minister then repeated his question. All responded this time, except one man, Walter Barnes. "Mr. Barnes, are you not willing to forgive your enemies?" "I don't have any," he replied gruffly. "Mr. Barnes, that is very unusual. How old are you?" "Ninety-eight," he replied. The congregation stood up and clapped their hands. "Oh, Mr. Barnes, would you please come down in front and tell us all how a person can live ninety-eight years and not have an enemy in the world?" The old man tottered down the aisle, stopped in front of the pulpit, turned around, faced the congregation, and said simply, "I outlived all them a$$holes." Then he calmly returned to his seat.

  2. After reading the article it looks like the purpose is a refresh on the approach to firearms forensics, not a 'database'. Sort of like when the ability to test for DNA in blood started being used of the simple type of blood. Have to remember, any time someone gets a government grant, they are going to be successful and create the findings that keep that money coming in. Global warming/global cooling/climate change/climate disruption is a perfect example. If the .gov cut off research grants, that whole mess would disappear.

  3. My opinion of the .22 as a self defense weapon is this: If I shoot you 4 or 5 times in the face with a .22 and you still want more, I done shot the wrong guy...

  4. I expect many of them have seen it and probably wish it didn't exist because it puts their beliefs in a very bad light. I have noticed above all other things the people screaming the loudest about gun control are the ones that are surrounded by men and women packing guns to protect them so they don't have to worry about protection. You can bet if they didn't have the protection they do they would all be packing a gun and not be screaming that we as Americans should not have guns. If all of the men/women setting in plush comfy offices that own all these places they have made into killing fields had to work in them they would not be gun free zones. They don't mind risking the lives of the people making $7.50 an hour in a pizza store or working on the floor waiting tables for customers in a resturant, Working in a factory where some disgruntled employee gets fired and goes home and gets gun and comes back to take his rage out on employees that never did a thing to that person. Movie Theater Company owners don't care about charging $12.50 to $15.00 to go into one of their businesses to enjoy a movie but do care that you can protect yourself while in there so they don't allow you to be armed even though you have a legal permit that says you can carry a firearm. Or Students in a school or college where some board of directors does not set foot in desides that the students and teachers are expendible. As long as these Gun Free Zones (Killing Fields) exist and remain soft targets this will be an issue!..............jmho

  6. That is my concern more than any other of this entire election is the Supreme Court. It can destroy our Constitution and alter Americans total way of life begining with the 2nd Amendment. That alone should be enough to bring out every Republican, Conservative, Independent and even some Democrats that are firearms owners to swing vote away from the DNC. That is also a good point by several that have mentioned we need to also make sure we cast votes that will help us remain in control of the House and Senate. This is the election that is more about our childrens futures than ours. All I can ask is what kind of future do you want for your children and grandchildren?................jmho

  7. I have seen inserts (lead and stainless steel) that will drop into a drilled hole in the concrete (similar to drywall inserts for screws). Then you would run a bolt down through the safe and into the inset. The ones I have seen expand when the bolt goes in. I think I would also consider epoxing the inserts in the concrete to help hold them in place so you can remove and reinstall the bolts.

  9. Mike Dresner (Lawenforcement Sales) and myself will be hosting a machine gun shoot in Sparta, TN at Flashpoint Tactical Solutions brand new range September 17th. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I have a HK G36, UMP45 and 1919A4 I recently purchased that will be there, along with other guns I've recently built and added to my collection like my Saiga 12 full auto shotgun. Talked to a guy about a M134 Minigun today as well and made an offer. No promises it'll be there, but I'm trying to get one for people to shoot! Should know in a couple days when he said he'd call me back if he accepts the offer.

  11. I thought this was an interesting article. It shows the Left trying to back away from the gun control issue (as they always do) for the remainder of the campaign trail. I felt the need to share it. Hildabeast does have a plan. Here is an excerpt from the article: " Clinton’s problem with the Heller ruling is that it reaffirmed an individual right to keep and bear arms that the federal government cannot violate. Two years later–in McDonald v. Chicago (2010)–the Supreme Court affirmed that this individual right is incorporated under the Fourteenth Amendment, thereby barring states/cities from violating it as well. Clinton is at war with Heller because she knows that if she can be successful in reversing the recognition of an individual right, then she can be successful in opening the floodgates for gun control at city, state, and federal levels." A liberal leaning SCOTUS for 20+ years into the future (the average time frame for a justice to serve) will be disastrous to the 2nd amendment as this would give them plenty of time to re-visit every gun control issue. http://www.breitbart.com/california/2016/07/22/politifact-hillary-clinton-misspoke-misunderstood-australias-gun-ban-trump-wrong/

  15. A tiny bit of lube, and by lube I mean grease, wouldn't hurt on those sliding surfaces. Like where the bolt slides in the receiver. Need a light grease for that. I've always used Tetra gun grease. Use stuff designed for cars at your own risk. Get the CLP out of the piston if you flooded that. It needs to be dry.

  19. Personally, I prefer these - http://www.homedepot.com/p/Simpson-Strong-Tie-1-2-in-x-2-in-Drop-In-Anchor-50-per-Pack-DIA50/205299212 If properly installed, they sit slightly below the floor so there is nothing to trip over or step on. I usually use a little masonry epoxy when I install them, but it isn't necessary. This gives you a little more flexibility. If you wanted to add risers, like mentioned above, you just use a longer bolt.

  20. My cousin carries an LCR in .38 special and does pretty well with it. She has arthritis and can't rack the slide on just about anything but her SR 22. Recoil is only a problem after firing several shots. The LCR in .327 should be less recoil especially with low recoil ammo and carries 6 shots instead of 5.

  21. I really like this idea, and was thinking about that myself just the other day. I paid for the Lifetime Benefactor because of the value TGO brings to me. I know there are a lot of benefactors here that feel the same way. I also know the non-benefactors are getting one helluva bargain. I would like to see a donate a $1.00 (or whatever) option in the store, and then have a drive on TGO to get every single person to contribute.

  22. My SCSW says a model 30 with a 4” barrel weighs 18 oz. A Ruger LCR in .327 with a 1.87” barrel weighs 17 oz., so I think they are about the same size. Like a .357 giving you more ammo choices over a .38; the .327 gives you more ammo choices over a .32. The Ruger is $500 new. The SP101 is available in .327, but right now they only list the 4”. It weighs 29.5oz, so when/if they offer the 2.25 it should be around 26oz. It should be around $600 new.

  23. Well if you want to stay with the 9mm you could always get a 9mm revolver. Ruger has the LCR, Taurus has the 905, and Charter Arms has the Pitbull and that's just off the top of my head.

  24. You might want to keep in mind a revolver chambered in the new .327 Federal can also shoot .32 S&W, .32 S&W Long, and .32 H&R Magnum.

  25. I've taught several women to shoot and everyone of them liked the size and weight of a J-frame .38 UNTIL they shot it. Not one of them wanted anything to do with a J-frame .38 after that. When my late wife's arthritis got to the point where she could no longer handle the recoil of her Detective Special, she found a nice 2" S&W Model 30 in .32 S&W Long and fell in love with it. This J-frame is small and easy to carry while the .32 long has very little recoil and is much better than a .22. Loaded with the Mag-Tech hollow points, this make an acceptable self defense gun.

I think you could just drill the hole deeper than needed. When you need to remove the safe just remove the hardware and pound the anchor down with a punch. Should work fine.

  29. The problem is that too many shooters expect non-shooters to step up to the plate with no anxiety, no fear of recoil, and complete confidence to skillfully manipulate, properly grip and fire a handgun. This only develops fear, flinching and bad habits. Plenty of people have successfully defended and killed with a .22; both legally and illegally. Is that my choice of defensive caliber.....no, but neither is a handgun. Simply saying that because of the above, or weakness of grip and hands sometimes it is better to be able to confidently handle a .22 and become very proficient and confident, then step up to any other weapon of THEIR choice.

  32. I've got both a 2" and 3" SP101. 90% of the time, I'm shooting .38/.38+p Great for carry, plinking and home defense. I do have upgraded grips, and had some work to make the action better. 25oz on the 2" if memory serves, so it's not a lightweight. Maybe look at an MK9? Mine replaced the SPs for carry and has similar shootability traits. I like mine a lot

  33. If you are looking at a revolver with lower recoil, I'd suggest a steel K frame in .32S&W long. My mother has one as a nightstand gun and shoots it fine even with a crushed right hand( right handed). a .38 snub has recoil, I had a M&P340 which is scandium, even lighter than an air weight. It had more recoil with .38 +p than my Kahr pm40. Not an accurate comparison but nonetheless. If if she just doesn't like the snappiness of the pm9 try a mk9 ( steel frame) or maybe something like a browning bda (steel frame mid size .380)

  34. I'm going to agree with chances r, a small 38 especially a light one like a 642 is going to be a handful to shoot, no pun intended. If she's going to practice with it and stay proficient, she may struggle with the recoil. Mine is steel with wrap around Hogue grips, it's manageable with regular .38 loads but +P stuff gets tiring after 20-30 rounds. The Airweight I had was pretty brutal even with light loads in it. There's just not enough mass in the gun to absorb the recoil. I'd suggest renting/ borrowing something at the range for her to use before you buy anything.

  35. IMO the 38 special revolver is the worst gun for most shooters.....UNLESS....they have shot one, like it, and want one. I have 'rescued' several shooters over the past several years that were given a 38 revolver to qualify in their handgun carry class. Mistake. While small and convenient to carry, they are hard to hold quickly and comfortably. Terrible double-action trigger pull that is at least 10 times the weight of the gun (wonder why you can't hit anything?). And most are limited to 5 shots. So I would look at the Kahr, Shield, LCP, 320 Compact, or even some of the Glocks.

  39. I also have a Marbles 701SB Camp Axe that I forgot to add to the pic. Both are roughly the same price, but I think the Husqvarna is a much better hatchet for the money. In fact, it's not even a contest in my mind. The handle on the Marbles is far inferior, the balance sucks, and I'm virtually certain the steel is lower quality than on the Husqvarna. I am a huge fan of the Wetterlings and Gransfors hatchets, but for the money I just don't think you can beat that Husqvarna. If I had to get rid of my hatchets and could only keep one, I think it would be the Wetterlings. It's large enough for more heavy chopping, but not so large that it becomes burdensome to carry.

  40. This is what I have used on numerous guns including many Saiga's. http://www.cncwarrior.com/AK-47-14x1LH-Barrel-Threading-Kit-p/25145.htm Some Saiga's are already threaded under the hood. Just be careful not to cut too deep when removing the hood. Just take a Dremel with a cut off wheel and cut down into the hood right up against the fsb and it usually comes off pretty easy. Usually they are just tack welded in one or two spots. The paint makes it look like one piece. Also, some fsb are already drilled for the FH retaining pin. Take a punch and tap in the area it should be and usually the plug weld will start breaking loose under the paint. If not, it's not hard to drill the holes.

  44. Wow, that's a bunch of ..... AR propaganda.[emoji6] AR's are like trophy wives. The best they look is when they aren't yours. Expensive to maintain. Require immediate and constant upgrades and accessories. Need constant attention (maintenance) or they get whiny. The older they get the worse they look. AK's are the girl next door. They get better looking with age, don't complain, and always get the job done. Here's my go to! Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

  45. Thanks to your efforts, we have had a good week with the Gadsden license plate orders.   There is a way we can get to the 1,000 quickly.  If everyone receiving this e-mail (over 300 people) got 1 person to order in the next 2 weeks, we would be over 500 in 2 weeks.  Then, if the 500+ got 1 person to order in the next 2 weeks, we would be over 1,000.  By the end of April, we could actually have the paper work sent into TN to start the process of getting this plate into production.  But it is you that is going to make that happen.  We can't do it without you.   Be sure to Like and Share our Facebook page:    www.facebook.com/TNGadsdenTag   To place your pre-order, please visit:   http://www.friendsofsycamoreshoals.org/gadsden_plate.html
