  1. I think its cool that they brought an ar to market. I don't hate them for that. I hate the marketing hype for something that just isn't special.

  2. Obviously the immediate threat was not over as they turned and fired at her. We need our fleeing forcible felon statutes back. If you threaten someone with a gun; you should be shot. You shouldn’t get a pass because you turned to run and got shot in the back.

  6. While I understand the logic of an offset on a fence to be safe, to me you just "forfeited" that land to the other property owner. The future property line becomes the fence line is most people's minds years down the road. Not saying that's right, but perception is reality. If it was me and there wasn't any law requiring an offset, and if the property line wasn't in dispute, I put it as close to the line as possible without going over.

  8. Seems like plenty of people are talking about the over-the-top marketing campaign and how it was a bust. But if alot of people are talking about the new product, didn't the marketing campaign work?

  9. Situations dictate how I will react. Yours was a bit different. So we must act accordingly. I didn't know any of these people. Their action was one of complete disregard for my/other peoples boundaries. Someone asking me for permission to look around is totally different matter. Just walking down my drive, past my house and garage, and just nosing around is not something I take lightly. Nor do I like people and cars I don't know coming down my drive from off the street. The drive is about 120 feet long and clearly is different from the street surface. Most can see that it's a dead end and property drive. But we have had them come speeding off the street and sliding in the drive. It's clearly not a thru street. If you have a question or a problem, stop and come to the front. Don't head for the back. You don't have any need to be there unless invited. One evening a big old Buick did this. I knew I didn't know the car. It really didn't slow down. Just ran right by the house and ended by going into the back yard. Before the 2 young men could get out of the car, I was out to meet them at the drive. Yes, with a little bit of protection behind my back. They were loud and rude, insisting they were at the right place and here for the party. When I could not convince them of the error; they got a lot louder and a bit aggressive. Yes I'd say drinking was involved. I yelled back to my wife to call for police, and the guys got nasty and a bit threatening. When they approached with arms up and clenched fists, I asked them to step back and leave. No results. so I let my hand come from behind my back. Attitudes changed somewhat then. Loudly and grudgingly, they left. Just as the police came. Last I saw of them was with blue lights flashing and chasing.

  10. I use metal jerry cans from http://www.lexingtoncontainercompany.com/Nato-Jerry-Cans.html Those are the real deal. Mine were made in Latvia, not China. Full seam welds all the way around and fully painted inside and out as they should be. That seller used to have the real can spouts (aka Donkey D***s), but I don't see them listed any longer. Just the stupid EPA ones. Look around on the web though and I'm sure you can find the regular ones too. I add some PRI-G to each can before filling with non-ethanol gasoline and it works great. Lab-tested to be far better than Stabil. http://www.kansaswindpower.net/PRI lab_tests.htm. I've had fuel sit in them for quite a while and still work just fine, even in small engines like mowers.

  11. This really sums up my thoughts as well. I'm glad to see another AR option. The timing is right for them since the panic buying will set in soon if things go poorly this election and they'll probably sell all of them that they can make if they get them out there ASAP. But the marketing, while nice to look at, had an unusual amount of hype for what resulted.

  12. I buy the cans from Amazon. Somehow, the new EPA mandated nozzles keep getting lost in shipping so I have to buy the regular replacement and add a vent. I know that means I'm stuck with the same old cans I've used for decades but I'm learning to deal with it. If you had access to buckets made out of HDPE you could use those. They make a valve (bung?) That you can put in the lid. This could be a cheap source of storage container. One more thing. As an old fart I'm beginning to hate dealing with the weight of 5 gallon cans. My wife really can't deal with them. I bought some fuel hose and a couple of marine grade squeeze bulbs like you use with outboard boat motors and made some siphon hoses. I can get the can to the toolbox on my truck and set it there. I made the hoses long so I can stick one end in the can and the other into the filler hole on the truck. A couple of squeezes and everything starts flowing. For my wife I bought a 1 gallon can. She can lift the 5 gallon can on to a step in the garage and siphon into the smaller can. It takes a while but this gives her a way to deal with fuel if I'm not home to take care of it. Mark

  16. Some of you will chew this up with all the things wrong with it. But as a property owner, whose had property stolen and damaged on a farm site that was until this year never bothered, I like this person's idea. If you look close, it appears there is a posted sign at ground level that the person passes then......

  18. It can go either way actually, TN has adverse possession , where if someone used land for 20 years (not paying taxes) or 7 years paying taxes they can have a right to said land. That is why it's important to assert ownership of every piece of your land, if a neighbor is on your property it's important to challenge them on it, or allow them the use in writing so it's not adverse possession.

  21. I had a dispute with my neighbor when we moved in. The land had been in his family for many years. The father split it up between 2 sons. Well we bought the older son's place. We did not know these things, the living brother came up the road the day we moved in. This is how we found out about the story of the land. Well he told us that the survey was wrong and he would not abide by it. So I called my lawyer, he got to digging and told us to tell the man to get a survey and we would compare, it was right as done before I got the place. He never did like us after that. Even called the police for me cutting the property line, it was a mess. The man has since passed, but the family will not have a thing to do with us. Put the fence ON THE LINE, after a survey that is OK with all involved, price is worth it in the long run.

  22. I put one up, I went as close to the line as possible with the understanding with the neighbors that if a survey was done we would abide by it. But with the terrain and cost I doubt one ever gets done.

  26. You can still get the european produced ones without being forced to buy the goofy EPA spout from deutsch optic. makes the cost per can MUCH more reasonable, especially for storage since you don't particularly need 1 spout per can. http://deutscheoptik.com/20-liter-jerry-can-set-of-four.html

  37. I'm surprised that these people have not come up with a good way to poison or infect the Savior's through the food they coerce. I also can't believe the Savior's trust the food they are getting. They must have tasters to sample the food before the rest of the lot eats it. I will say that I was pleasantly surprised that the Kingdom folk feed the pigs infected meat before sending them off to the Saviors. Even if it doesn't make them sick, its a satisfying secret middle finger to the bad guys.

  41. I'd do this on my property but the last photos off my trail cam were three guys on horses who I guess think it's a wilderness area. I'm sure I would be sued or our hunting cabin vandalized if I did anything like this but I'm still thinking. I just hope I don't see a road kill skunk anytime soon or he might be positioned to fall out of a tree or something....I mean skunks fall out of trees all the time right?
