  1. Any time a new court ruling seem like it may be a step in the right direction, be very careful. They'll use that step to stomp on your head.

  2. Ok so first is a 1923 Winchester 94. The barrel is actually from an earlier 1894 and is octagonal. It has been cut down from 26” to 22”. This is a buddies but I did the cleanup on it. Full tear down and cleaning. Wood cleaned up and a new hand rubbed oil finish. The barrel blueing is great except for some spots near the muzzle where something got on the finish and caused rust. I cleaned it up the best I could w/o messing with the original finish. The receiver/parts, butt plate and forend cap got some cold blueing. turned out nice.

  3. I agree parents should be more responsible, but this opens up parents to more liability than just gun related crime. Your son or daughter is doing drugs with someone that overdoses or drinks and drives and kills someone you could be charged with manslaughter

  4. Unfortunately you have both lazy neighbors and lazy cops. Get video of all the interactions both people and dogs chasing you, cars, and/or bicycles. Get enough to show a pattern. If the cops won't do anything, go to the media. Aggressive dogs have become something of a hot button recently. I'd avoid the guy with the gun and his dog named Aryan. Too many red flags there. I'm guessing the cops may have been trying to do you a favor. I'll bet they know him.

  5. I would tell him that you are still going to walk your dog but that you will wear a red/green light or something else that allows him to know its you so when his dogs bark he doesn't come out with his rifle. You have every right to walk down the street without fear of being attacked by either dogs or neighbors. Also look up the leash laws for your county, I think the Montgomery county leash law (where I live) state that a dog generally must be leashed when NOT on the owners property. Might be easier going the other direction and addressing the situation with the lady, but man do I hate people like your neighbors that don't take accountability for stuff like this. Good luck.

  6. It seems that a fairly large percentage of neighborhood disputes involve dogs, and trying to discuss barking or aggressive dogs often results in hard feelings. We live in a time where people have trouble taking responsibility.

  7. This is our yellow lab/german shepherd mix. We got him from a shelter at the beginning of Covid as a puppy. Met his breeders by chance a couple years later. His sister is a TSA dog. He’s been perfect for us, loyal and great with my daughter and fierce protector of the house.

  8. All I'm getting from news is how this is a unique case. Involuntary manslaughter. No real details on how parents assisted, knew etc. I'm guessing the parents were excessively negligent but this seems to open the doors for prosecuting every parent of every school shooter. Will it carry over to gang shooters parents too? Thoughts and details of this case appreciated.

  10. Throw those barking dogs a raw hot dog. Soon they will be wagging their tails at you instead of barking. It worked for me. There was this German Shepard down the road I lived on and evey time I walked by he would bark furiously. I threw him a raw hotdog and he kept barking as I walked by. The next time I walked by at night, he came out wagging his tail and never bothered me again.

This watch retails for more the $7K: $3,800.00 Both CT Scuderias are $525 each and come with boxes. The silver watch is unworn and perfect condition. The other chronograph has been worn but good to excellent condition. Both watches have quartz myota movements and measure 44mm. This knife has copper accents and buttery smooth lockup! The action is flawless and it’s super rare: $1,200.00 (his knives sells for $3K+ commonly) 4. I have forgotten the makers name but will look it up…he’s amazing and one of the best value customs out there. As you can see the blade is mirror finished, zirconium bolsters, titanium flamed liners, MOP pivots. His knives should be more expensive but I’m listing for what I have in it: $800.00 5. Larry Chew - He’s a famed designer and a trail blazer for creating one of the first knives to feature a hidden automatic deployment mechanism. This is not one of them but has tip down carry titanium clip and bolsters. Carbon fiber handles and a beautiful blade shape. The detent on this one could be a touch stronger but the action is smooth and lockup is perfection: $700.00

  16. UPDATE: I've had it back for a little over a week and have driven it quite a bit at various speeds and of course hitting plenty of the potholes on our roads now. No more shaking, so it seems like the diagnosis of the drag link was correct. Replacing the Aux battery was pretty easy. 4 bolts and some tugging on the passenger fender to remove it. I actually struggled getting the side marker light harness disconnected more than anything else . I did crack a few of the clips, but not so bad that they don't work, plus the 4 bolts are really doing the attaching. Next time I have an order for Quadratec I'll add in some of their $2 clips and replace them.

  22. I just picked up the X Macro Comp. Loving it so far, still waiting on a holster before I can carry it. $60 for a spare magazine is a bit steep but I'll get over it I guess. The Holosun 507k is a great addition, I ain't as young as I used to be. I could have stayed with the Glock 43x but I saw a shiny thing and had to have it.

  23. Oops. I read "Crumbley" in the title as crumbly like a cake. I haven't followed this case closely but I worry that this will set a bad precedent for future prosecution. I agree that from what I have seen there was at least a decent amount of negligence on the parents' part but I don't have enough info on what they "ignored" to make a call on their actions or lack there of. You make a great point with what about the parents of gang members.

  24. James Crumbley parent of School shooter in Michigan. Convicted yesterday I believe, his wife also. I've just heard about it myself but it seems to be a landmark case. Having trouble getting timeline facts unless I watch hours of trial. News is skimming over details of how parents were guilty.

  25. If the dogs are fenced in and not on the roadway, he is within the law. If the dogs are out running loose he is wrong. If he was out at 11;00 PM he was probably thinking something was after his livestock, if he has any, most likely. You have a right to go down the roadway, then again you must live there. You must try to resolve this issue as best as you can. You and him need to have another face to face and try to resolve this issue. He has no right to restrict your movement up and down the roadway. He very well may be trying to intimidate you into doing what HE wants. You got a big problem K. Just may need to daytime run to solve this issue. When chest get pushed out between 2 people, it needs to be resolved. Pushing the issue "POSSIBLY" could lead to real trouble.

  27. gregintenn...there are still some suprisingly open-to-rural areas withing the greater(LOL) Metro Davidson County/ Nashville landscape. Not many. And they are going fast! Not knowing where the op actually is...but some beautiful country outside the "Brentwood" landscape. I used to travel it to get to a few customers. Liked it. But hated the time it took to get there and back when I had an average of 40 stops a day.

  31. I’ve never had much luck dealing with police. I’ve had mixed results dealing with neighbors. Was the guy threatening you with the gun, or did he just have it along in case there was an animal harassing his livestock? You are certainly legal to walk your dog on a public road. Because you can doesn’t necessarily mean you should in the middle of the night, for several reasons. Pissing off your neighbors would be among these reasons. As to the other dogs running loose and getting after your dog, a call to animal control would be in order, as dogs aren’t supposed to run loose, at least where I live anyway. I am confused about this. You say you are in a very rural area, but your profile lists you living in Nashville. I guess both could be technically correct, but unlikely. Good luck with t. Neighbors can be a challenge sometimes.

  32. +1 to what was said above. You're doing nothing illegal by walking your dog on a public street any time of day or night. Depending on what "armed visibly" means, what he did might be illegal. Simply open carrying a holstered firearm is not. If he's carrying his gun/rifle in his hands and actively threatening you with it, that's probably illegal like brandishing or maybe assault (I'm not a lawyer and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night). It's possible the whole thing could be resolved by simply sharing with him what you've told us about your work schedule and that if his dogs barking at night is a problem, maybe taking them inside at night could solve his issue. Or maybe he's just a hotheaded jack-wagon who wants to stand in his yard and shake his fist at the clouds.

  33. $700 P80 frame, Alpha Wolf stainless slide, Glock brand upper and lower parts kits. Slide is direct mill for a Vortex dot and has suppressor height tritium front sight. Gun will come with both threaded and standard barrels, both Alpha Wolf. Comes with factory weight (17 lb) captured recoil spring/guide rod and a 24 lb captured spring on a stainless steel heavy guide rod. With either barrel (full chamber support) and the 24 lb spring/stainless guide rod this gun can safely run full power .45 SUPER loads. Or it can run soft .45 ACP loads with the factory weight spring. I also find that it runs better suppressed with the 24 lb spring, but that may be dependent on your suppressor and load.

  35. Whatever works for you is the best. I tell ya one thing , the Ruger LCP .380 makes it so easy to run to the parts store , grocery store , or dollar store. It fits right in the front pocket with a DeSantis pocket holster. I've been doing this for over 8 years. It's so much easier than belting-up an holstering-up a bigger gun. I will say that when we go to more populated places and pack the bigger tools.

  36. For the wallet: Ruger American with AICS pattern magwell. It absolutely cannot be beaten for value. The original is cheaper, the Mk2 is prettier & smoother & has a 3 position safety. Stocky's is also going to be releasing one of their awesome VG carbon stocks that'll fit either, later this year. Both require a couple of upgrades, trigger at minimum, but are still amazing for the cost. Best: Tikka T3x (although it doesn't use AICS mags & at the moment, nobody makes a compatible bottom metal) Light years ahead of 90% of factory guns at ⅓ to ½ the price. Fantastic aftermarket, tedious accuracy, lightweight & just generally a spectacular rifle that's at home in the woods or on the 1k gongs.

  38. If ya’ll haven’t been to the recently opened Thompson Station Armory, do yourself a favor and go check it out! Jonathan has great taste in firearms, optics and accessories … could not be more hospitable especially for a gun store. His store has unity fast mounts in stock, Aimpoint, Eotech, holosuns, magnifiers, etc.. in stock. Got to hold a Q mini fix today chambered in .300BLK and was wowed with the execution. He even has the famed honey badger in stock and I’ve never been able to hold one and appreciate the innovation. He has several high end brands and models that you just don’t see every day: HK, B&T, Q, Christensen, Proof, etc.. The highlight was holding the insanely cool B&T folder that looks like a mini briefcase and folds out into a SBR. Why do I take the time to write this? Well if we don’t support local business then they fail. A dollar spent with a local business circulates 2-3x more than if we do business with a large retailer or out of state.

  40. They are in my opinion the best replacement for the AFO2 I sharpened a couple and was impressed, I will eventually pick one up
    1 point
  41. I’ll take the under on this. And I say this as someone who loves Benchmade and has a bunch of them. The AFO set the standard for what a good auto should be - back when you had to have credentials to own one. They’re amazing - but you can get a great auto for a lot less money these days. I’d start with something less expensive with a lock. The kershaws are great. Notice a trend of how many folks have had autos fire in their pockets. Honestly, I guess I’m in a place in my life where I can carry about any knife I want - and have more than I’ll ever reasonably carry. My daily carry is one of a few Spyderco PM2s. They’re practically as fast as any auto out there - and one has yet to either open in my pocket or jump out of my hand.
