  1. So many moons ago, (early '80's), I had to make a decision what I liked and disliked. Dept required we use something that could fire .38 spl. So, with not much to offer, it was either going to be S&W or Colt... Went to the shop and I needed to be convinced of which. Then, it was a matter of preference. The S&W rattled a tad when you shook it, the Colt, solid as a rock. So, my love of Colts started up. Within a short period of time, I bought a 4" Nickel Python, 6" Royal Blue Python, a Nickel 1911 MKV Series 70. Short after, ...the Colt Lawman Mark III .357 My carry was the 4" Python and backup was the Lawman. My dept was hell bent on not using revolvers anymore, so I was able to carry the 1911.... (would be nice if they paid something), but truth be told, revolvers were not that expensive, and I already had what I needed. Over the years, I started getting more interest in semi-autos and went with HKs... I sold my 6" to a guy in AZ, my 4" to a kid just out of the academy and my Lawman to the guy that owned my marina... Knowing what we know today for the going price, I kick myself in the arse for getting rid of them. Who would have known. Kept the 1911 only for remembrance. Eventually had it chromed, (nobody does nickel anymore ,(and if so, would be very expensive) ... and fitted with tritium sights my old eyes could see... So, my quest. I just got my hands on an excellent 1976 vintage Lawman Mark III. Must have been in someone's safe for decades because looks like it was never shot. Still had cosmoline on some parts. I got a deal that I could not pass up. I will slowly rebuild my Pony/Pythons of yester-year. My only Colts and hopefully not the last, (excuse the tint and oily prints. They are both shiny mirror like. Hard to get shot without reflection..) :

  2. As long as there are employers who are willing to hire illegals, they'll keep coming. Neither political party will do anything to impose penalties on those employers, and we all know why. And thus the illegal immigration problem continues.

  3. I switched careers in my mid-40s, going from retail to IT support. It was a huge change, and honestly, I wasn’t sure where to start. Sites like https://clashofjobs.com/ helped me figure out what kind of jobs matched my interests and skills. I used it to explore different roles and get a better idea of what to aim for, especially since I didn’t want to waste time chasing the wrong thing.

  7. I got this off a member on here a few years ago. It is as purchased from him plus about 40 rounds down range. It has sat in the safe other than that. It is a rifle, 10 round magazine and 20 round magazine, and some of the paperwork that come with it. Will throw it in a soft case for transport/sale. Not sure what these are going for these days but see they are racking up a solid $2,000 MSRP new. I'm thinking $1,500 is a good cash discount. Located in Franklin, TN.

  8. If they are deported and then return it is now a felony from what I understand. Also if they are deported they are not eligible to legally return ever. Sneaking back in is much harder now as well. If they self deport they can try to come back legally.

  9. This definitely is a factor. One thing that you may not be quite getting. @MEGASTARis that we do not solely utilize the federal NICS check here in Tennessee. We use the state TICS system.

  10. I just have a question that has me confused so I am looking for help answering it!!!!! President Trump is in a major movement to get all the illegal people out of this country and I am in his full support to see him succeed. Now my question is as follows? Say we capture Jose and his 2 brothers and we deport them back to there home country or another country but we get them out of America! Just what is to discourage them from coming back again to America. Is there some secret punishment they will receive if caught here again that has never been made public that someone may know about?

  20. So we have like a million + illegals deported and half of them decide to try and come back in and get caught. Then they are charged with a felony. That means we give them good food, a warm bed, medical expenses, a dry roof to sleep under. In my opinion they need to make the punishment much much harsher to discourage them coming back period!!!!!

  22. Hey folks — I’ve got a private shoothouse set up on my property in Harriman, TN, and I’m curious if any fellow instructors or training groups out there would be interested in using it. It’s a live-action structure designed for force-on-force, room clearing, low light, movement-based drills, etc. Right now it’s set up for UTM/Sim/airsoft — no live fire — and I’m working on adding an elevated observation deck for better overwatch and instruction. If you're a legit trainer looking for a space to run your own class, host a workshop, or just do some serious practice with your team, shoot me a message and let’s talk. Open to collaborations, shared use, or even co-hosting events if it’s the right fit. Just testing the waters here to see who’s interested. Let me know! 23. I'm going to leave the thread visible as a compromise because I think the idea is very cool, but I'm also locking it because it's advertising a commercial enterprise without being a vendor. Trainers who want to reach out to you will now know how to do so.

  26. Good for you, TNPhil. You haven't mentioned, but In case you don't yet have a scattergun 12ga, it's just a primo "nice to have", inside the abode or out. Incredible versatility, especially on some acreage. Even a beater has-been from a pawn shop can do. I've cut a handful of 28" full chokers down to 18 1/2", trimmed the stock to 12.5", and they sit at 34" overall. (About the average short AR platform.) A simple squaring off & chamfering and these now "cylinder bore" bbl's print slugs at 60yds at 7", just like my 870 Rem Wingmaster pump with the slug bbl/ sights. At night, inside the abode, it's hard to better a scattergun with 00 or #4's in the hands of your loved ones.

  27. Ohhhh,,45-70, Nice. So, JustEd: Can't really go wrong with that 308, great resale either way. (30-30 or 308). My old 308's are often popped off with (reloads) loaded down to 30-30 velocities, so a good excuse for to getting into reloading. Just saying. I really can't afford to shoot over the counter $$ as much as I shoot. Compass . . 45-70 (loads) can be had at 30-30 recoil or outright tear-making brutal for pissed-off 400 lb gone-feral hogs. Any guy buying a 45-70 (you) knows this . . I'm just trying to temp JustEd. I love my 45-70's.

  29. If you want a rifle for home defense, go with a PCC in 9mm or .45. Or a lever action in .357 Magnum (.38 spl) or .44 Magnum (.44spl). Both magnum calibers can and are used for hunting.

  30. For the first 20 years my resume looked like the Yellow Pages--newspaper writing, ad agency, hot-shot delivery and other odd jobs. When the wife found me, I was a scumbag scuba diving instructor. A couple of years later the Lord found me and eventually brought me into airline maintenance and then training mechanics. I retired off that after 16 years and now live comfortably with my retired nurse/wife. Yes, you can switch careers in later life, but I recommend doing so with Divine approval.
