Sometimes there are just no words you can say when it comes to real friends and I am blessed with some great ones. About three weeks ago my old worn out recliner took a dump and back broke on it. I called a buddy of mine with a pickup truck and asked if he could haul it off for me and he said yea about about 3 hours later he shows up with this which is a brand new Lazy Boy recliner. Puts it together and hauls the old one off and won't let me pay him a dime. Then Yesterday morning I discovered that my chest freezer had quit working and thankful everything was still froze. I called another friend that i knew had some space in his freezer and asked him if I could bring all my frozen stuff to his place till I could figure out what I could do about getting the old one fixed. He said give him about an hour and he would see about coming and getting all the stuff. About an hour later him and the guy that gave me the recliner showed up with this. Brand New one. I had to wait about 2 hours to transfer all my stuff over into it but didn't lose anything. Again I asked them to let me pay them and both of them just smiled and said thats what friends are for and climbed in the truck and left! Need I say anymore????

This is two different friends that I have been friends with for many years. One of them goes back about 25 years. The other one believe it or not we met in Vietnam in 1971. He was a door gunner on a Huey gun ship that extracted my team out of the jungle 3 different times and we became friends back then and ran back into each other about 15 years ago and learned we only live 5 miles from each other. All of us are very close and several times a week we have coffee at my house in the morning................... :up: :up: :up:

As bad as this sounds, I hope it was some jihad idiots and not another mental kid.  

Do you have any you can post? This administration will down play the terrorist attack aspect of it. According to them it will be a failure of congress to pass "common size gun laws" that caused this, not the bad guys. They will not isentify these shooters as "terrorists" like they have said about gun owners and veterans. These murderers will be shielded behind their religion and anyone calling them terrorists will be labeled as a racist. This is all part of the plan, minimize the terrorist portion of it then use it as a means to further violate the protections afforded us by the Cinstitution. What is going to upset me more than anything else is these attacks will continue to happen and our government will continue to let more and more "Syrians" in th country. With this happening we should have our borders locked down tight and suspend immigration until we can at least verify who they are.

I have no doubt that it is you that is the friend Bresa and these guys are just showing their appreciation for that.   Life kind look grim some days, but things like this show us all how wonderful life truly is. How does it even make sense when Goodman was following the law and all gun dealers (FFL's) do background checks there? This was 3 felons illegally buying guns via private party sale (not through licensed gun dealers aka FFL's), such as if I, a non-FFL, decide to sale my gun privately which is perfectly legal, to another person? It is the felon who was dishonest and broke the law, not the gun show, so the felon should be punished (prohibited person [felon] possessing a firearm) to the maximum the law allows, and be done with it. How about enforcing the law instead of trying to punish legal law abiding businesses and citizens? The law:   I. POSSESSION OF A FIREARM OR AMMUNITION BY A PROHIBITED PERSON: 18 USC § 922(g) & (n). Here he is boys...in all his "not so mint" condition. My dad bought this in a package deal when a buddy's dad passed away over 20 years ago. He was going to pass but I picked up this Ruger 44 mag and fell in love (even with the paint speckles where someone was using a rattle can next to the gun, and the little rust spots, and the wear on the bottom of the stock, and the action that felt like there was sand in it, and the busted scope....the list goes on) It was my first "big kid" gun. I killed my first deer, bobcat, coyote, fox, and armadillo with this gun. My dad (and the gun) showed me that shot placement was more important than having the biggest gun in camp. Well, my dad and I are headed to Texas soon to do some hog hunting. He battled cancer the last 2 seasons so it has been the first time we have been able to hunt together in a while. So I busted out Rusty and put him in my range bag to check the zero. My dad was staring at me like a crazy person and said, "with all these guns in here why are you taking THAT?!?" I told him if I get the chance to shoot my first trophy boar I wanted it with this gun. Hunting trips are more about the memories than the kill sometimes. Then to make sure it didnt get too emotional I whipped my cleaning towel at his crotch, finished my bourbon and locked up. Obviously great advice all the way around.   I would like to add that once you choose a defensive round, invest in enough of it to insure that particular round functions as flawlessly as possible in your particular handgun of choice. All firearms have their particularities and idiosyncrasies... I have seen Golden Sabers and Hydrashocks not want to chamber in certain guns while functioning flawlessly in like models. It simply sometimes happens.   I generally purchase my chosen defensive rounds in 500 round lots and run at least 100 rounds through that particular gun to ensure a level of reliability. It's a bit of an investment, but well worth the price imho.   Another thought: At times we chamber and rechamber the top rounds in our magazines. This can be because we have to unload the run for various reasons....cleaning, changing out for practice mags/rounds and then rechambering our carry ammo and I'm certain many other examples exist. There is the potential for a bullet setback to occur in this process and could potentially lead to a pressure spike or variation at the least. I make it a habit to shoot a mag or two of my carry ammo at least once a year. This will ensure I have "fresh" carry ammo in my handgun, as well as help me to verify my point of aim/point of impact remains as where I think it should be.   When I carried a 45 acp I carried Hydrashocks as well. I've seen at least 2 individuals shot with them and they performed just as advertised...not so much so in the 9mm shootings I've seen with them...   I currently carry 124 gr Gold Dot plus P Black Hills in my 9mm's...but there are many quality self defense rounds available. Just pick one that give you as close to 100% reliability as possible...and hit the range...better yet...go to a quality class and give some of them a try. Win-Win imho. :2cents:
