  2. This is the Springfield M73 I inquired about a few months ago, re: getting a bequeathed item back from Florida I had a couple of hours at the range today to try out the 1884 manufactured, '73. I had some suitable loads already built for my 1885 target gun. 510gn 19:1 Postell bullet over 25gn of 5744 at 1165fps I made a new, taller front sight to get me a little closer to the paper at 100 (standard 'battle' sight is zeroed at 250) & gave her a punt..... The 3 on the right were my first shots. Obviously I was a little nervous, pulling the 9lb trigger on this 133 year old, famously fragile antique! I adjusted left a little & took another 4 that centered very nicely, being in mind that I've done ZERO load development! Just for poops & grins, I popped the ladder sight up, without adjustment of the slide, & successfully clanked steel at 500yds! I'm pretty sure everyone at the range stopped shooting, wondering who the giggling maniac was, shooting the potato cannon....... Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

  7. I'm way older than your kids but a month or so Monkey and I attended a picnic with gentlemen who had a shooting contest afterwards. It was pay to shoot and winner took the pot. Some were using modern weapons but 2 of the gentle used muzzleloaders. I don't normally like shooting anything I don't own, but one of the guys was insistent that I shoot his muzzleloader. It was so huge that I'll admit I was intimidated. I secretly think his intention was to get a laugh out of it? Not sure. But I went back to the shooting line, hoisted it up and hit the bullseye. Now, listen, I'm not a great shot, but I do ok. And I'm pretty certain that was dumb luck. But I don't think he took it very well because he left within 5 minutes. My husband on the other hand had a huge smile on his face and loves to tell the story. While laughing. I wish that I had been taught as a child, but I grew up with mostly women and sadly, no one owned a gun, let alone "believed" in them. So I've only got 5.5 years under my belt and that's all thanks to Monkey. You're great dads for giving them the support you are!

  11. Yep, small businessman, busting his hump to raise his family which includes a disabled child. His wife stays home and they home school their kids and they are doing a great job. I'm happy to give him extra money.

  13. Yeah I do but I go to a country barber that probably doesn't charge near enough anyway. Besides...I've been going there for 22 years and I'm pretty sure he's never repeated one of his stories.

  14. I've never had a shave at Rubles, they offer it, and I've thought about it 100 times but haven't gotten the nerve up to trust someone with a razor at my neck yet.

  15. Yep, I have always tipped my barber. Most barbers are self employed, but many of them still work together in a shop where they pay the owner of the shop an agreed upon percentage of the agreed upon fixed fee that they all charge for a haircut. If they had their own shop, they could charge what they want, and then I might not tip, but with the arrangement that most of them work under, they rely on those tips. The shop I go to probably doesn't charge enough anyway, so I don't mind tipping. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  17. For regular NFA items probably not, for a MG yes, I'd drive to the end of the state fitting these criteria's 1. face to face with the seller, you can make a better judgement on who your dealing with and you can test it out.. 2. 50/50 payment is another good option with a individual vrs a gun shop. 3. F4 to F4 "in state" no dealer involvement or transfer fee's, just 1 stamp fee. 4. No state sales tax

  18. Bama almost got the NCAA death sentence in 2002, severely penalized over the next several years with scholarships zapped, no bowl games for 3 years, etc, yet only took 7 years to win another national championship. Over the last 9 years, we've had no probs in that regard, have had several of the best recruiting classes in the nation, and have only had one winning season in conference play, let alone contend for anything higher. - OS

  20. Yeah. That's legal. Goofy, but legal. Why not just get a sling mount if that's what you want it for? http://www.cabelas.com/product/MAGPUL-M-LOK-PARACLIP-SLING-MOUNT/2344351.uts?productVariantId=4706469&WT.tsrc=PPC&WT.mc_id=GoogleProductAds&WT.z_mc_id1=04513884&rid=20&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIgZ_L-6SJ1wIVkjRpCh1nNQVjEAQYAyABEgIc__D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

  22. I bought a air soft pistol for my daughter last year to teach her the firearms fundamentals. She liked it and did well with the safety concerns so I picked her up a SR22 this week off Arms List. The first shot was dead center from 15 ft. You could not wipe the smile off her face. After the first mag. she said " wow that was fun" we spent the next half hour working on stance and the trigger reset. She is hooked.

  27. I was a freshman in the 9th grade the day he was shot and it was announced over the PA system at school that he had been shot and a few minutes later they said he was dead. It's kind of funny I can remember that day like it was yesterday and today I can't remember what I did yesterday without reading posti notes. They didn't ever really solve that shooting with the technology they had to work with back then and it looks like they will never solve the shooting on October 1st 2017 and look at all the improvements in technology since 1963. Times change and many things remain the same. When they released the Warren Commission Report they said that all of the records will be sealed and not released for 30 years. I think they kind of missed the 30 year date by justa couple yearsI'm sure they were waiting till anyone that could have been involved in the assassination would be long dead because I think IMO Johnson was the one that had him killed and he and about all of his children are gone and possibly grandchildren even........JMHO

  30. This is not a jab directed specifically at Guns and More but I am seriously coming to the point where I feel that any gun shop that doesn't secure their building from simple smash and grabs with draw-down security doors and other barricades are just as negligent as anyone who leaves a gun in their vehicle for it to be stolen. I can't believe that any insurance company will even write a policy for a gun shop that doesn't have adequate security in place to prevent quick break-ins like this.

  31. I have the FNS9C and love it. Very accurate for a compact and fits my hand really well. I also like the 12 and 17 round magazines that come with it.

  32. I have an FNS in 9mm. It's my favorite 9mm. Up until I bought this one it was a Glock 17 and Browning HP. And it doesn't need a tool for take down!!!
