  1. Ok here is what they found. She had an artery almost totally blocked and the doctors did an angioplasty balloon repair to re open the artery and start the blood flowing back to her heart muscle. They will do a follow up in 2 weeks with another arteriagram and if it shows signs of any changes they will stint that artery at that time. I found out doctors have two options when they do this procedure and as best we can tell the doctors did not stint it this time when they could have performed both the angioplasty and stint at same time. I was dissappointed to hear that, but they are the doctors making the decisions. She is at home now with Tommy staying with her. Weak but out of pain. Prayers are still appreciated

  4. The 2.0 trigger is an improvement over the 1.0 without doubt. I promised I would shoot my 2.0 for a good while before monkeying with parts.......promise broken. I put in the flat-faced, forward set trigger kit in this past week-end. Just wow! I have had at least a half dozen 'gun guys' try this trigger out, all with the same impression. What an improvement. Pull wt can be changed by reference to the Apex flow chart that accompanies the kit. Mine by trigger gauge runs 3.3#. One can bump it up to over 6. Very sharp trigger break, no creep, no stack. Great reset. Can highly recommend it, and yes there is a difference that is worth the money.

  7. If this passes, it will cause lose of reciprocity with other states, due to the decreased training requirement. And I'm against it because of this. If the legislature wants to do something, pass constitutional carry.

  8. It's a 7 shot, 3 inch that is chambered in .32 H&R Magnum. Now my question is why wouldn’t you go just a smidge longer and chamber it in .327 Fed? https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2019/03/18/charter-arms-professional-reveal-at-concealed-carry-expo/

  10. I have absolutely no idea on the shoulder surgery, but I'd maybe consider a small frame, small caliber revolver for weak side carry. No slide to worry about, no tap-&-rack, just point and pull. You'd be amazed how quickly you can learn to shoot left handed with a pistol. Your subconscious takes over and aligns the sight to your dominant eye instantly. The tougher part is learning to manipulate the gun from the holster with your weird hand, but that comes with practice. I'm far from being an expert on, well, anything, but I reckon that something like one of the hammerless Smiths or a Ruger LCR in .38spl in a VERY simple, slip holster should see you right.

  11. 1st, get a revolver, no slide to rack.(at least to ya heal) 2nd, do the rehab and try not to cheat. Hope to see you heal fast.

  12. I haven't had shoulder surgery but have spoken with several people who have, as I also have had shoulder issues. Their answers are 6 months to 75% (which means mostly normal just being careful about some things) and 12 months to 100%. Unfortunately, it's a really slow recovery. None regretted it and all said it was better once healed, but it's a long road.

  13. There are a fair number of ethical issues here, but genetic genealogy is breaking a bunch of cold cases right now. The Golden State Killer, the Bear Brook murders (good, short podcast if you’re interested), among others. About 80% of the US has at least multiple third cousins in publicly available datasets now. And yes, just like with Facebook, the 23 and Me’s of the world are profiting off of your data. You’re not the customer. You’re the product.

  14. A Dog thread!! Good for you and good luck with your new best friend! I had a Doberman for 13 years that passed 5 years ago. I didn’t think I wanted to go through that loss again; but about a year ago we got another. Mine are house dogs and I missed that security. But I would never have a dog trained to bite (too much liability); dealing with intruders is my job. His job is to let me know something is going on that needs my attention. House breaking him shouldn’t be hard, just take him out all the time. Teaching him not to eat the pillows might be harder. 15. You can never go wrong with a rescue. My road puppy Kai, is the best guard dog I have ever seen in my life and we have no idea what she is other than a mutt. We found her on the dirt one lane road heading to the dump one day. We also have an 11 month old Rottweiler that I got Monkey for his birthday. 110 lbs and still growing. The loudest farter/snorer but a massive beast no one would want to be on the wrong end of. Little do they know he sleeps on his back and loves belly rubs. Dante is adorable, but if you are in the market again, check out aarf-tn.com, it is the rescue group I work with and foster for. They have amazing dogs of all breeds.

  18. I didn't have a choice, the military collected my DNA and submitted it to a database for ID purposes. Now, that database is open, with subpoena(?), to LEO to find criminals.

  25. It didn't have to be him, it could have been traced through a family member. About a year ago my 80 year old uncle found out he has a 60 year old daughter. She contacted my sister after my sister did one one of those DNA tests and she was a familial match. With a lot of people having their DNA tested, I would guess a lot of these type cases are happening.

  28. So under the bill in its present form, would Open Carry thus be prohibited for a holder of a Concealed Handgun Permit ? If so, I foresee a bunch of "printing" arrests being done by any LEO who don't agree with the whole 2A concept. And they're out there. I had a conversation with a THP trooper once that absolutely curled my hair, he was so opposed to "civilians" being armed in any way, shape or form. They may or may not be few and far between, but they certainly do exist.

  29. LNL- yes, but is a change in name only. Some are being duped into thinking ‘enhanced ‘ is something better. This whole thing is a charade to pacify the constitutional carry promise move....unsuccessfully I might add.

  30. I prefer my Shield or P938 but there are times when I carry the LCP rather than have nothing.

  31. People want to dress their guns up, so you have this. Honestly think that ARs have got people wanting tinker toy guns now. Not saying ARs are bad, cause they aren't. But people now want to customize all their guns. It's the fashion statement of the gun industry now.

  32. The last time the legislature tweaked the permit process a couple of years ago, we lost reciprocity in two states, MN and WA. Hence, I'm always leery of anything regarding the process anymore. - OS

  33. Amen. Make it a TRULY enhanced permit and make it so that it overrides signage , etc and they will have to hire extra people to process all the applications....

  34. I guess the reality is that I'm just not willing to spend 500 for the 43x. With my Shield 9 and 45, I have a lot tied up in them. Very little return on selling them. So little that I'll keep them unless absolutely must sell them.

  36. I’m very partial to Pits. Both these are rescues and both are smart. The ginger is super sweet, but a bit skiddish around new people. Not your guard dog type. But she is a barker, which I personally like. The gray and white is a Pit-Doberman mix (we think). He’s a barker. With him around, it’s hard to sneak up on the house. His looks are also intimidating, but he’s not a bad dog at all. Just noisy when someone pulls in the driveway or comes to the door.

  37. Every dog question gets the same answer from me.........................adopt/rescue. If you live in the boonies, I don't recommend any type of hound though. If they get on the trail of something, you might not ever see them again.

  38. I have never understood that either. A 22LR such as my Phoenix can be a get off me gun and it will kill you dead too yet so many folks won't give credit to the 380 Calibers. I think it might be a "Macho Thing" You know, "go ahead and shoot me cause you only have a 380 and then I will shoot you with my 45 cal type thing!!!

  43. Cautionary note...If you ever find yourself removing the steering wheel from a 1948 Plymouth. I had already removed all the interior and I was seated on a 5 gallon bucket removing the steering wheel. I managed to finally get the main nut off and could not get the dang steering wheel to budge. After about an hour of fighting with and staring at it I smacked the steering wheel with my hand out of frustration. I woke up about 30 minutes later flat on my back with my face covered in blood and a pounding headache. It seems that under that nut is a flat steel coil spring about 3 inch diameter under a a lot of tension. After 50 years it had frozen in place...until I smacked the steering wheel. Lesson learned. The wheel lug nuts turn clockwise for removal...but that's another story.
