Has anyone else been watching the Hallmark channel's Christmas movies? My wife and I have been enjoying them instead of watching the insanity every night. It's been refreshing to actually hear people sing actual Christmas carols, refer to the 'reason for the season', and be generous and kind. We know it's pure fantasy. But where else can you see entertainment that isn't cruel, evil, or liberal crap?

Time to start collecting man cards. Turn ‘em in fellas.

Eh we kill so many on my lease it's nothing new, I keep them baited year round. But 50 yard shot outta a blind, with a Remington Model 7 in 7mm-08. I shot the big sow and Trevin got the smaller boar. We had been in the blind 20 minutes before they showed up.

I watched to video a few days ago. not what I expected. I thought a lodged in barrel or fragmented boolit. He makes no money from "Demolition Ranch", youtube being leftest and all. "Off The Ranch", Vet Ranch", and the store are where the money comes from, well from the sponsors.

Ain't that the truth. I ordered something from a guy in Mich. on the 20th. Below is the tracking path for it. It actually departed Detroit 3 days in a row (same message but date changed). Same thing in Nashua NH. with the top message. Detroit to NH to western Tn. It's taking the scenic route. Another one spent 3 days in the Baton Rouge, La. post office before it supposedly left.

I’m in no rush. It will be just another box that shows up at my house. With the wife working from home, the two of us have FedEx,UPS and USPS delivering something everyday.

I’d rather have it that way. I don’t want to pay shipping back and my transferring FFL shouldn’t need to deal with the drama of something I didn’t buy from him. If it needs to go back they can send me a shipping label and refund my transfer fee. But that’s just me.

We had one of this model come in. I have no idea about performance, but I can say it was the best feeling 1911 I ever felt in MY hand.

Black Hills 175 gr. .308 match has given me the best results. I've never tried any steel cased ammo, I've always used brass cased. I've run a bunch of surplus Portuguese NATO 7.62 with decent results, and the surplus ammo will bring down a deer very nicely.. At least two trees have been cut down due to the H&K. That's the only down side, it's possible to run through lots of ammo in an afternoon, but the gun always brings a smile to my face. Back in the early 80's I showed up to deer camp with it, and this was way before AR's were popular. My fellow hunters couldn't understand why anyone would carry such a gun. And they definitely didn't like the H&K slap, geez that's part of the fun of owning a H&K rifle. I ran iron sights too, still do, as the scope mounts are pricey. Enjoy the gun, it's definitely a classic!

thanks on these two posts. I have since moved up to the 45 acp in a revolver. Still a short barrel though. I need to find a longer barrel gun but just keep trading around on carry guns. The pitbull is a neat revolver though.

No problem there. All of upstate NY is conservative, except for Albany and Rochester. The problem is specifically NYC. In the last election for Governor, I believe almost every Upstate county went for the Republican candidate, but it didn't matter since NYC always decides the vote. I'm afraid the same thing will eventually happen in Tennessee due to Nashville and Memphis, I can already see it beginning to happen.

I will also add that mine didn’t move at all.... until they did. Once you get it to move that little bit, the rest is easy. I believe I used some combination of 2x4’s as a makeshift jig. You have to make sure that every bit of your hammer energy is making it to that pin. If it’s rocking or moving at all I doubt you’ll ever get it out without grinding.

I never carried a knife as a young man. But as I got older, either I got weaker or packaging became much tougher. Some of these packages is like trying to rip a phone book in half. For years I carried the GERBER F.A.S.T. assisted opening below. I’ve never been disappointed by a Gerber product and the assisted openers may be something you might want to check out. They aren’t very expensive; but the quality is there. A couple of years ago I decided to go to an auto knife, because they finally had something that meet my requirements. I didn’t want a safety. Using a safety on an auto knife didn’t make sense to me; an assisted would be faster than messing with a safety. (But that just me). But I wanted to be able to put it in my pocket without worrying about it opening. For that I chose the Pro-Tech Magic BR-1 "Whiskers" shown below. I slide it in my pocket and clip over the edge of the pocket. I don’t think this knife would ever open accidentally (it never has being carried daily). It takes a very deliberate action to open it. Most people that aren’t familiar with it can’t open it when they are trying, until they are shown how it works. I think it’s a very cool idea on a release. When I ravel I can’t carry an auto-knife. For that I have my little Gerber Paraframe mini. I know you said you have trouble opening manuals, but you might want to check this out, it opens pretty easy. They have an MSRP of $14.00, but I picked mine up at Rural King for $9.99; they sell them most everywhere. I was surprised at how sharp it was and the quality for the price. I had an issue with prescription pills for 2 years after having multiple back surgeries. I went to 2 treatment centers/ detox in a year. I’m 3 years clean now by the grace of God and a program I work daily. Anyways.. I’ve never had an issue buying firearms since then.

It depends... For most days going about my business as a private citizen I carry 1 spare G17 mag just forward of my non dominant side hip. For church security duty I carry 2. When talking about shootings in the criminal assault paradigm the odds are exponentially overwhelming that whatever happens will most likely be over one way or the other well before the ammo in my first mag is expended. Obviously the lower the capacity the more your mileage may vary. Since I am not tasked on an everyday basis with laying hands on and taking people into custody that don't want to be taken into custody there is very little on a daily basis that compels me to stay and fight. In the typical civilian encounters where someone approaches and produces a weapon to coerce you to give up your wallet or to go somewhere with them, you presenting a gun and shooting at them (whether you hit them or not) generally tends to create an unscheduled track meet with them running as fast as they can away from you .....and you often running the opposite direction...assuming they are not killed outright. The odds of you even having the time to reload before it is over is unlikely. If the "typical civilian street gunfight" last 3-4 seconds from guns coming out to end of shooting there just isn't much time for a reload in there. John Correia (Active Self Protection) has watched over 15,000 civilian gunfights on video from security cameras worldwide and I have been an attendee at the presentation he does at various training conferences. He says that in all the video he has watched there is almost never a reload accomplished before the bad guys either stop or have run away....especially when people are reloading from their pockets. We watched one of those videos in his presentation where the defender reloaded from a pocket. It took a timed 15 seconds to access the mag and complete the reload. The bad guy was probably 2 blocks away before the guy got the gun up and running again. John goes as far as to saying since he carries a hi cap gun he has stopped carrying a spare mag and carries pepper spray in its place. I have long preferred to carry both because while pepper spray can be very useful it cannot help me clear a malfunction that requires a new mag to make the gun work. So I generally carry a spare mag and pepper spray. The church security paradigm is a little different. We may well be facing a dedicated and prepared opponent for whom self preservation is not their overriding concern. In fact they probably EXPECT to die during the event. In that case it may well take more hits and they may possibly have to be delivered from much longer distances to stop him than would be likely in the typical street criminal mugging/assault . We may be engaging someone who is using cover and we might have to use gunfire to "pin him in place " while a maneuvering element closes with him to render him neutralized. That type of thing has virtually no commonality with the typical civilian use of force. So for church security duty I err on the side of caution and carry a second spare mag.
