  2. It appears that we have the best chance to remove the criminal aspect of carrying a firearm, allowing permitted carry past posted signs, removing rules about carrying in parks and recreational areas, permitted or not that we have had in years. It is imperative that we get the 33 blocks to Liberty on notice and get their responses. Write your Senator and ask them how they intend to deal with the Bruen decision and your right to carry a loaded firearm in case of confrontation in public. Le them know that you know the SCOTUS incorporated the 2nd Amendment against the States in 2010 and you expect them to act accordingly. They work for you, give them instruction and post their responses.

Each member here, who is desirous of return this state to the promises made in 1796 needs to honor their charge in Article 1 Section 23 of our Declaration of Rights: That the citizens have a right, in a peaceable manner, to assemble together for their common good, to instruct their representatives, and to apply to those invested with the powers of government for redress of grievances, or other proper purposes, by address of remonstrance. 12. I’ve had a Spyderco in that LC200V steel for a decade. It’s my standard saltwater knife and has spent no less than 100 days fully submerged in the saltwater. I run it under the faucet at the end of the day and oil It once a year or so. That blade has gutted hundreds of fish. The blade is as good as it was new. That steel may as well be magic.

  15. I love my LCP ii. Have a iwb kydex holster and a couple of Sticky holsters for it. You did a great job on that leather pocket holster You are very talented with crafting leather You hit it. I too am a sucker for reviewers enthusiasm for new guns (variations). Have had a few disappointments by blindly trusting what the reviews said Am of the belief now that if a carry system works for me to stay with it. Thus I save enough money to practice more. No small thing with the price of 380 ammo.

  25. I don't know about for hunting, but for defense, none of the 7.62x39 ARs on the market are consistently what I would consider 'duty grade' reliable, and it mostly comes down to the magazines and receiver geometry just very often being a problem. If you want 7.62x39 I would recommend getting an AK, a mini 30, basically anything built for the round. 300 BO is probably just a straight better option for an AR platform in a similar round. That said, 5.56 is fine for hunting deer with modern ammo inside 100.

  27. Hold onto it for me, one day I'll venture to the "big city" from the sticks in East Tennessee and pick it up Or you can come east and you can give it a good send-off on my backyard range, ammo on me If I wasn't driving my tool truck 60 hours a week I'd have picked it up long ago, but a 9 hour round trip on a Saturday would end up with me cuddling the new arrival in the chicken coop, and my wife is a LOT warmer If anybody is traveling back and forth Jefferson City/Dandridge/Morristown/Knoxville area to Nashville aandd wants to transport a package for me I'll happily throw some gas/food/beer money in

  36. I had personal criteria to meet before carrying... Reckon I spent about a year training/learning (and making insurance changes in light of new risks) before I actually got my permit and began to carry every day. Also a fan of Branca's book, but thankful I never needed to defend my or anyone else's life during that time. I don't think my approach was typical, or necessarily reasonable to expect from everyone or maybe anyone. There is this background cognitive dissonance in our country when it comes to our rights perceived versus practiced, and I think THAT, more than personal flaws, helps to create a population predisposed to failing at exercising its own rights. Fudd lore is a thing, sure, and sometimes people are negligent or arrogant or slow or whatever, but how is "lol all your rights got taken away because you're too dumb to spend 100s of hours and 1000s of dollars reading self defense law books, attending firearms, self defense, first aid, etc. etc. etc. training courses before defending your life or maybe your kids', pleb" an acceptable cultural response to that? And how is NOT carrying at all an acceptable solution? We need more people to carry, not less. Lastly, I know we want to be lawful folk, here and anywhere else, but sometimes the law is jacked up, and in rare cases, the law is not even just -- think ww2 germany and just following orders. Sometimes we nurture or are nurtured with malicious intent (how do you have no idea what your rights actually are despite 12+ years of state education)...

  37. I appreciate the input from everyone. The issue for me is not having a safety vs not having a safety, but double action versus single action. My other carry is a P365, so I’m carrying that pistol in single action mode as well. I’ll keep my LCP II for the time being. I carry in a leather pocket holster that I made, and it is sufficient to protect the trigger. I might have been looking for an excuse to buy the LCP Max- I am susceptible to firearms manufacturer marketing, especially when they increase round capacity. Or make a stainless model. Or improve the sights or grips. Or when I’m bored. Or when my wife says “Don’t you have enough guns?”. “No, I don’t- I’m going out for a bit-I’ll be back later”.

Aimpoint is not included at this price but can be bought if you’re interested. Also will come with a BCM BCG unless you want to buy the Lantac BCG that is pictured for an additional 150.

  45. I don't have a place of my own, and likely don't have the time to get out for a squirrel hunt, but Cedar Forest on the West Side of Highway 231 right across from Cedars of Lebanon State Park would give you access to about 2500 mostly wooded acres just a short drive from Murfreesboro. If you aren't familiar with the area, you can park along the access road and walk in wherever you like. Most of the roads loop back into the main road. It is mentioned in the TWRA hunting guide, but difficult to find information about what type of permits are needed. The link given in the regulation guide does not work. I did find a contact number for Richard Saltsman, who is listed on the state website as the public contact for Cedar Forest good phone number is 615-443-2768 and his email is Richard.Saltzman@tn.gov. He should be about to tell you exactly what is required.
