  1.   This time last year I put an expensive 15 pound ham in the smoker for about six hours to impress my family on my cooking abilities, even made tater salad!   Six hours later we ate dried ham jerky and tater salad. How was I suppose to know you don't put a pre-cooked ham in the smoker for that long

  11. The news said tonight that they do have armed drones flying over Baghdad but only to protect the American Embassy. If they would bring all the Americans home from the Embassy they would have no reason to get involved but here is our Government  poking their big nose in another countries religious problems and Civil issues.................jmho  We all knew this was going to happen when our troops came home so why is it a surprise to D.C. that it is happening?..............

  16. I'm a die hard fan too, I like their whole catalog. I saw it in the theater and my only complaint was the lack of volume. I didn't have to yell directly into my wife's ear to be heard, so clearly it wasn't loud enough. :) It's a strange plot/story with strange characters and themes and a strange end.... so similar to every video they've ever made. I still think the rider would be the coolest Halloween costume ever.

  17.   Also don't discount my other young battle-buddy 173rdABN.  His times from this match aren't his norm.  He was clearing 2-3 malfunctions on each stage.  The ejector spring had gone weak on his AR.    When I offer to let him borrow a spare bolt that I had he said, "Thanks..., But doing these Immediate Action Drills is Good Training...."   :tough:

  18. Well, they sucked me right in. Headed my way along with one of their 16" barrels via a short stay in Oak Ridge for a shortening of the barrel and engraving on the receiver. Then we will see just how quick the revamped e-file system is.   That should pretty much round out the carbine craze for my house although a MPX in .357 sig is really  calling my name.   I know, famous last words...

  20. Oh, btw, as far as your original question regarding HCP.   I don't know exact legal answer, but if I were in that situation I guess I wouldn't really worry about it. I mean, you haven't really changed your residence, you're just in training out of state.   But anyway, worst that could happen would be you'd get notified by TNDOS if the DL change comes around on the database guitar or something, at which point hopefully you can simply explain it, and you might already have swapped the CDL to TN one anyway by then. I'd be surprised if TNDOS wouldn't just say "okay, you're still good".   Not anything you can do about it in the meantime anyway, seems.   - OS

  27. It's definitely not anything like what you've listed so far... but here's an interesting option.   A Longines Legend Dive Watch from their heritage collection.   That'll be firmly topping out your budget.   If you want a dive watch at the lower end of that budget - but it'll be a "big" watch (I don't like big for dressy, personally)   Check out Deep Blue   If you want a dive watch, that wears small, and as such will pass the dressy factor easily, and won't break the bank. At all....   Seiko 007 or Seiko Sumo.   Good luck! There's just way too many out there!   @btq96r .... no fair reminding me about watchrecon. no fair.

  28. I've been using mine for about anything I've had to use a knife for: Cutting Sandwiches, opening packages, cutting pallet wrap, sliced/diced/chopped veggies, chopped down some really tough fiberous bamboo looking weeds, so far it's performed very well in everything I've asked. Can't think of anything off the top of my head that I would want any pocket knife to do that this one won't likely do very well. Can openers and toothpicks and other Swiss Army stuff aside.

  29.   I have the Citizen Aqualand too. Stole it from a student for 90 bucks. Just needed a new strap and a battery and works perfect. I took it on a few dives and it's nice enough but it's definitely not up to some of the features of the nicer dive watches (and I generally prefer an analog face - it's the older model). I don't dive anymore but I do wear it sometimes when I have put the Skyhawk in a safe place.   I took the skyhawk on a couple of dives too and it did fine. It's rated to 100ft. Given it's supposed to be for aviation, that's a bit concerning :)

  31. I have ran into things similar to this in the past while I was in the Hand Poured Bait Business and was having an issue with a  particular angler and payments for products they received. I found the best way to handle them after a few exchanges on line was a face to face and that normally got the issue corrected. Folks think if they live far enough away you won't come a visiting over a few bucks. With me even if it cost me money to collect the funds owed me with me it was principal. You case in my mind is more important then money or principal so I might look at an unannounced trip to Lufkin Texas and do a face to face............jmho

We were chanting UT sucks after we beat Virginia where we were sitting ha haaaaaa[/quote] Do what? I really don't think anyone is "butt hurt", as you so eloquently state. If you'll actually read my post in it's entirety, you'll see plainly that I'm very happy for Vandy, I've been on the opposite side of the field from them. Just don't understand what one has to do with the other. I mean, I've never been happy that the Braves beat the Cardinals and exclaimed "The Braves won woohoo the Yakees suck!" By the way, my name is Kyle, not "Bubba", no matter who's "got this"

  37. I got them on black Friday last year. I can't remember where I ordered them from but they were running a buy one get one half off deal. I installed them myself using a punch. There are marks in the dovetail that you can use to line them up with but I just marked the slide with a pencil and lined them up that way. Another pic: Pic in dark. Not a very good one I'll take a better one tonight:

  43. I mean I'm just sayin' ... this guy doesn't look to be in peak physical condition and he was able to runaway from an FBI SWAT team? Maybe they should stop worrying about the preppers and hit the treadmill ...

  44. Personally, I think he was very smart to slip away and turn himself in after the fact. Considering the subject of the warrant and what they were looking for, I doubt very seriously it started with a polite knock on the door followed by a "sir, can you come out? This is the FBI and we have a warrant to search your property if you would be so kind to open the door." No, they went in with the SWAT team on a dynamic entry. Considering the high mortality rates of the subjects of these types of raids by the murderers in the FBI, I'm not sticking around to get murdered in my own home. At least not if I am planning to live through the encounter. I'll slip away and turn myself in later when it can be done peacefully, and publicly. If I'm sticking around for the initial event it's because I'm not planning on seeing the next sunrise.

  45.  UPDATE: I called BRO and their tech guy was more than eager to help. He asked a few questions and established that i'd done everything correctly and said to email him with a mailing address and he would send a new one out right away with a prepaid postage for return. Since I wasn't at home I decided to put the group back in the rifle so that I wouldn't risk losing something and that's when I noticed what the problem was. There was a small chunk of foreign (I think) material stuck in the disconnector spring causing the disconnector to engage the hammer ever so slightly. I pulled the piece out of the spring and installed the trigger and everything was perfect. I emailed Gregg at BRO today to let him know what I figured out and he replied withing minutes to tell me that he was glad that I figured that out so that I would have a decent trigger to work with until the new one arrived because he was still going to send it. I told him that he didn't have to do that since it was working now but he wanted me to have the best they offer and didn't want to risk that piece I found having broken off of something within the trigger. Black Rain Ornance is definitely being placed on my "folks to do business with" list because their service was exceptional!

  46.   I agree, and think that warrants are bogus, but the article itself gives very little situational information, and the warrant is very detailed.   I won't justify the actions of any government agent as moral. They have the legal right to act on evidence they say they have under oath, and the constitution gives them the right to do so as long as it is in accordance of the Fourth Amendment. If they violate anything, it is something that would be settled in court. Of course, that is assuming that the system works...   I don't believe that laws are valid in general. I think this guy should have been left alone. Who cares if he did have someone else buy a bunch of guns for him? Who cares if he did manufacture destructive devices? Why should anyone care? If they aren't bothering other people or infringing upon someone else's immediate right to life or freedom, no one should care. It's their business unless they bring someone else into it involuntarily, but there are over 300,000,000 Americans and the Best Government that money can buy in place to disagree with me.

  47. IMO, Dan Wesson's are outstanding.  I have 2 of them, a CBOB in .45 and a Guardian in 9mm.  I wouldn't hesitate for a second to acquire more DW pistols.  Both of my CZs are top quality also.

  48. The interview went great. I start the pre-training the second friday in June and it goes for 3 total fridays. 7 am to 3:30 pm each day.   I know it's no guarantee of a job but i have also heard the initial training is worse than the job itself. I guess they have to weed out those who want to work and those who just want to goof off.   Just glad they are giving me a chance. Thanks all
