TGO, if Taylor Swift is considered "hot", "desirable", or any variation thereof...we need to have a serious discussion on what those words should really mean.7 points

She's also considered 'country' music, but that ship is so far gone it's sailed, docked in another port to resupply, and sailed away again. There's nothing left of country music in Nashville other than a sold- out hall of fame and an Opry that just wants to book the latest flash in the pan 'thump and bump' outfit with a song about a truck. Country music packed it's bags and moved to Texas a long, long time ago. Don't believe me? Okay. Is Hank Williams a member of the Grand Ole Opry? Is Darius Rucker? :surrender: "They all say not guilty, but the evidence will show... Murder's been committed, down on Music Row..."5 points

All the best country right now is coming out of Texas and the Carolinas. And, I take it as a good sign for the future that there are a lot of really hard working bands in the Americana space right now. Music Row probably quit being relevant in the '90s, and they sold out long before that. I think it's interesting and really sad that all of the developers are trying to turn music row into condos right now. I get it that developers have no respect for anything they can't flip and make a buck on - the sad part to me is that the country music labels can't even find the voice to offer up a defense as to why music row should stay. I guess at the end of the day, part of the reason for that is that the music labels are really just "developers", too. They're looking for talent they can exploit, turn a fast buck on and move on to something newer and shinier.4 points

You misunderstand fashion. Taylor Swift doesn't wear whatever is fashionable. What is fashionable is whatever Taylor Swift wears.4 points

I suspect that should this case get dismissed, he's going to make a point that certain officers knew him that day, and targeted him for his past lawful actions. I'm even willing to bet should he get into discovery on a civil case with the city, he's going to find that officers knew who he was, that he had a valid FFL, and probably that he was legally selling NFA related items... Since it's already come out that certain officers were gathering 'intelligence' on him in the past. I have to disagree with DaveTN a little bit... I think the DA is trying to wait him out for a plea bargain where they drop all the charges if he agrees not to file a civil case against the city... Because frankly, I think he has a damn good case against the city right now. As for his argument about not having to show ATF paperwork to local authorities on request, he's probably got a good case on that point as well... those forms are considered tax records and there is a federal law (which impacts the state via the supremacy clause) that prohibits local governments from demanding access to tax records without a warrant signed by a judge. My hope is the city I live in and pay lots of property taxes to, will drop this dog of a case, and settle out of court with this guy as fast as possible, it's already cost the city a lot more than just admitting they made a mistake... No good comes out of pushing this case any further... the DA is going to have to start making arguments that they has PC to open a closed case because they thought it might contain a firearm... and push a theory that somehow even though he was in lawful possession of a NFA item he somehow broke state law. Either outcome would be bad for regular gun owners in TN, IMHO.3 points

Pretty much. I've accepted the fact that my taste in music is outdated, dead, etc. For better or worse, the country music business isn't making it anymore. Thank heavens there are some other ornery outdated folks though, and most of them are making good music in Texas. :)3 points

He's whining about this having a negative impact on his livelihood and finances, yet this is exactly what he set out to do. This guy thrives on the drama of making his life hard. His pathetic life is going to culminate with him pulling one of these stunts and getting shot by an armed citizen or police. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

Taylor and one of my daughters and sons went to school together. She's a nice kid. She got picked on a LOT by others because of what she was trying to accomplish. I'm not a fan; but I admire her for sticking to her guns.3 points

I can't fault Taylor Swift for ruining country music while people like Trace Adkins continue to perform with impunity. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

Real country music is only played on classic retro channels now, what the write, sing, play now is some kind of generic pop they claim is country. It is not, they need to call it by a different name.3 points

Ive had some down time with work this week so yesterday I hammered out this ol' boy. 10.5" blade, hidden tang, spalted maple handle, file guard, band sawblade end cap with copper rivet accent. This knife was built as a fighter, not a camp knife. Super light and fast in the hand, razor sharp and should hold a great edge. Steel is a 1095 Nicholson file, edge quenched then had a triple temper at 400 degrees. Ill post updated pictures when I finish it on out. The purple around the hilt is painters tapes I havent removed yet. The yellow is the the tempering colors. Itll have a sand blasted finish at the end, with tong oiled handle.2 points

I have no sympathy for an agitator asking for it, but.... If this guy has a history of anything, it has been carry weapons around and not killing people, over and over and over. If he's prooved he's a threat to anything, he's a threat to his own ambition and cause.2 points

There is a lot of things our Constitution provides for us but that does not mean we have to go around parading them to the world everyday just to draw attention to ourselves. As for me. when I am out in the public I want to be as invisible as possible and just take care of the business I have left my home to take care of and then I want to get back home and know I am in a safe place once again..............jmho2 points

So higher numbers of guns yield higher numbers of gun related deaths. I also believe the more number of vehicles will increase the number of vehicular related deaths. You can makes numbers work in your favor every time.2 points

Thanks for the update. Yes, we all have the right to parade around with long guns and tacticool attire, not sure that it means we should. By NOT parading around in such a fashion doesn't mean we will lose our right to do so. Legally purchasing so a firearm becomes your personal property, getting a HCP, communicating with elected servants and exercising your duty to vote for pro 2A representatives helps preserve our 2A rights.2 points

I wonder if the charts were put up on how many people died by guns verses how many people died by botched surgeries or bad diagnosis and giving people wrong medications which killed the patients. Which charts would be higher in numbers?.........jmho2 points

I'm just celebrating my latest stamp arrivals. I finally completed the lower right AR with SBR stamp and specwar 5.56. I thought I would share a pic (should have chosen a lighter background.) "It's all about public safety" BS. It is all about public control . The police tend to see all of us as criminals. I have had a real eye opener on this. I have always had a deep respect for my local police, but had a shock the other day. While shopping, I overheard make some remarks from a high ranking LEO about blacks and other minorities (I am white) that would have been more appropriate coming from a KKK clansman. He was very vitriolic and earnest. He also let it be known that anybody who did not follow his agenda was just as bad and worthy of punishment. Too much "Us and Them" mindset floating around in law enforcement right now. With the Federal Government facilitating arming them as paramilitary formations, I no longer look at them the same as I have in my 71 year life. A Police Chief, appointed not elected, has no voice in how I exercise my Constitutional rights. I am not a Liberal, but being a Conservative does not mean I believe in a police state.2 points

I turned my S&W 442 into a Kahr CM9. It was a vast improvement--easier to conceal, easier to shoot, more accurate, less recoil, 2 additional rounds, and slightly more powerful. In my book, the 2" j-frame is obsolete.1 point
Just because she says that, doesnt mean thats the choice I must make. Im up front with every woman Ive ever had a relationship with. I like sex, a lot, if you ever lose interest, dont want it, cant do it, or god forbid try to use it as a weapon to get what you want, i will find it elsewhere. Mind you I am not a cheat or a man whore by nature. But, I will not have it held over my head either.
So, how's the single life? They better pull all the stops in the first episode or I might just bail on them. The last season did nothing for me. Same goes for Mad Men but since it's the last season I will finish it. Look's like it has potential though. A fresh story away from the prison is what I was hoping for.1 point

That calls for a Carlsberg, for sure. Carlsberg is good beer, a local beer store here in Murfreesboro imports it and it's in my rotation. Their run ad's like that a lot in Europe. Here's a longer one about putting friends to the test; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vs1wMp84_BA1 point

How about just teaching the children to not touch the guns or putting the guns in a safe location out of access from children. That has seemed to work well when done properly for years.............jmho1 point
