3. This. I guy in a black suit jumps out of his car and walks across a dimly lit track though cars that are racing; and some jump to “murder”. Ridiculous.

  5. Just my rotten luck.  I go off the net for half a weekend to attend a kids birthday party and I miss an asshat getting shown the door.    I wish TGO had a Hall of Shame forum to show how you can screw up and get tossed from a great online community.

  7. I don't see this as Smoke's fault.  Ward Jr caused his own death.  I doubt this is the first time a hothead has been hit on a track either.   If it did not involve Stewart I doubt many of us would even know it happened.  He will not run at Watkins Glen.   It is a real shame and tragedy.  My condolences go out to Ward Jr's loved one's.

  8. I don't have any problems with contrarian views on things. While AB28's most recent posts would have been better in their own thread - as opposed to junking up someone else's - as a staff we have zero issue with contrarian views. And frankly, we encourage those debates so long as they're civil and the participants are willing to bring more to the conversation than rote talking points. AB28's last two posts were racist in a way that was so over the top that I have to believe it was intentionally provocative. I don't think anyone of my generation uses that language without knowing exactly what they're doing. We strive to create community here. As a general rule, I think we do a pretty good job, and our members are just as responsible as the staff for creating that. We will have no tolerance for racist language. It makes me sad if you feel that in your own life, but to be clear, if you express that language here you're gone. Period.

  9. When I was in my 20s I ran hard and was put up wet many times, I often thought if I would make it to 30 I would be OK, well 25 years latter. Here I am just thanking the Lord for getting me up in the morning. Another day on this side of the grass is a good day!

  12. I decided to try a few different things. This knife has three first for me. A stacked leather washer handle, a distal taper, and a bull horn pommel. The blade stills needs finish sanded, and the handle has a few rough spots to work out. So far I love the feel, and that distal taper makes it stupid fast in the hand. 10.5" 1095 distal tapered blade, stakced leather washer handle with mink oil finish, mild steel guard, bull horn pommel. I'm gonna enjoy this one

  16. Seem that as of late all he wanted to do was throw a frag grenade into whatever thread he posted to. Many of his post were beyond arrogant. Most of his post were condescending. Agree it was to time for ab28 to be told ......

  17. I am a big Tony Stewart fan so take that for what its worth, but in no way do I think Tony A) did it on purpose and B, did not do what he could to avoid it.  Lets keep in mind that he is probably one of the best dirt track racers of all time.  Like him or not, his skills are unquestionable.  No one can tell from any of the angle's shown what truly happened.  I actually suspect the guy took a step down at the last moment and his foot/leg got caught and that was the end of it.   I may be classless, but I don't feel bad for the guy.  I do feel bad for his family and for Stewart who have to live with the outcome.

  18.     There's zero questionable actions that occurred here.  Just watch how he tries to slide the rear end down towards the inside to avoid the guy.  To explain this in a bit more detail:   The tires on dirt cars are staggered (at least the faster cars - modified, LM & sprint) hey do this so that not much energy is wasted trying to get the rear end to slide towards the outside.  Any time you just punch the gas, the car will automatically slide up and out.  His car went the complete opposite of that... it is literally  impossible that it would have done that on it's own and shows Tony put an actual effort into avoiding the guy.   <edited>

  19. I have watched the Video's about 10 times and even though I am as far from a Tony Stewart fan as anyone can get he did not hit that young man on purpose. If you look at the video really close the number 45 car went past the driver in a dark racing suit and he was close to him ad after the 45 car wen passed the young man stepped down even closer to the path of Stewarts car. There is a really good chance that Stewart was focused on the 45 car in front of him and didn't even see that young man till the last second and then hit the throttle to move around him and the car didn't react as Stewart thought it would and miss the young man. It was something that I have always been against for all the years I raced at Nashville, Smyrna and Ridgetop Racetracks was drivers getting out of their cars in a fit of rage to cuss out another driver. They do it in all divisions from Sprint cars on dirt to Sprints cars in NASCAR. Stewart was one that got out one time and threw his helmet at another drivers car. A race track is no place to climb out of your car while mad and cars are still moving to show your rage. Prayers do go out to this young mans family for their terrible loss..... :( :(

  23. A man takes a sex enhancing drug and has an erection that has lasted for over a day. So, he goes to his local drug store. He goes to the counter to talk to the pharmacist who is a young lady. He drops his pants and asks her what she can give him for this. The lady pharmacist asks him to wait there because she has to go into the back room to talk to her sister. After two minutes she returns and says. She can give him $10,000.00 and half share in the business ;)

  24. I hit 62 today. Exercise and eating the right food will get you through so you;re doing it right.   I'll start eating the right foods and exercise real soon now.....   Now for the bad news....in 2014 Obamacare will not allow anyone over 76 to get cancer treatment. This is why Pelosi said, we need to get this passed so we can sit down and read it. There's more but this is not the place to post it.

  25. why can't I own body armor just because I want it and can afford to buy it?   Dave, do you seriously believe that banning things stops people from using them anyway?     I doubt anyone can get this through to you.     What else should be banned?  .45 ACP?   WASR 10's?   AR pistols?  Rocks?  Sharp sticks?

  26. I need to have a raccoon apocalypse out at my property.   Those little crafty SOB's manage to eat so much of our supplemental feed for our deer they got to weigh 40lbs a piece.  Installing the Sharks Teeth on the legs of the feeders only seemed to allow them to get better grip! LOL!

  29. Oh, and if you coat the bore with bore butter (or similar) for protection; before you load it to shoot, you'll need to swab & clean the barrel out with a couple of alcohol soaked patches. I use 91% rubbing alcohol myself, as it evaporates in a couple of seconds. If you don't you'll contaminate the powder & have a heck of a job getting it lit.
    2 points
  30. Don't mean to be argumentative, but DON'T USE BOILING WATER!!!   Yes, the heat will help to dry the bore, but it'll also cause flash rusting. Guaranteed. Cold or warm water, with a few drops of Dawn or Simple Green works perfectly. Also, don't use a bore brush. Get the correct sized jag & use lots of cotton patches (old T-Shirts are your friend!) Reason being, some bore brushes are simply slid & crimped into the rod threads. If one pulls loose in the barrel, being that it's only open at one end...., you'll have to get real creative in getting it back out!   To check to see if it's loaded, lay the ramrod alongside the barrel, so that the bottom end is roughly ½" towards the muzzle, of the nipple. Mark the rod in line with the muzzle. Now insert the rod into the bore & your mark & the muzzle should line up, pretty durn close. If it's about ½" proud, chances are there's a ball in there, but no powder (A Bad Thing) An inch or so, & yes, it's loaded.

  34. Next Friday I will no longer be in my 30s.  :(   It isn't too bad though.  I have been blessed with very good health for which I am very thankful.  Most weeks I go to the gym everyday M-F and at times run 3 miles in the evening.  I do martial arts three times a week.  I try to keep myself in decent physical shape.  I need to work on my spiritual health a lot more.  I pray my good health continues and my 40s are better than my 30s.

  40. For me everything was fine, parts wise, until I turned 40. I still am in great health with the 50 looming now, but right after 40, things just hurt that wouldn't normally. Now, I spend a day whitewater kayaking and I feel it the next day, when I didn't used to. I seem to get tendinitis a lot more now, and joints just hurt a little.   At 40, you really should start thinking about a prostate exam and have your blood tested for a PSA score. :ugh: The exam sucks, but it's a part of modern life. Just go to your happy place and it'll be over soon. Oh, and find a Doc with skinny fingers .   I'll leave you with this quote from Hunter S. Thompson: I put that on my wall at work and read it almost every day.

  43. LCP - a friend has one and said that if he loads 7 rounds it jams...if he loads 6 rounds it works fine.  Take it for what it's worth...probably sounds like a magazine issue to me, but that's how he loads his and it works for him.   Glock - I have a Glock 19 and I've never had one shell ejected into my face that I can recall.  I was watching my wife shoot it and she got almost every shell to the face.  Not sure why unless it had to do with the difference in our grips.  But I would take it to a Glock Armorer (lots of them around I think) and have them check the ejector.  That gun should be 100% reliable and it should never eject the casings into your face - that is not OK and will got old very quick.  You can get that fixed.   Best wishes, B

  45.
I picked up a Savage 93 new from my local dealer this afternoon. I'll give it a try in a few days and let you know how it turns out. It looks o.k. for a cheap gun.
I have had two 93's, one before the accu-trigger and now one with it. I have a weaver rimfire scope on mine and it's a tack driver. No squirrel within 75 yards wants to poke his head out when that gun is in the woods. I replaced the plastic trigger guard with a metal one. Shoots Winchester Super X the best. Edit to add: if you find Fiocchi 40gr stuff my Savage shoots it great. Otherwise, stick with Winchester Super X 40gr either HP or solids. Neither of mine have never shot CCI or Federal well. Never shot the 50 or 30 grain stuff well either.

  46. My feelings exactly. In the state of Tennessee it is a crime to commit a crime wearing body armor but not illegal for someone to purchase and wear if they want. My problem with congress banning body armor is that themselves and of course their secret service will be exempt and that alone makes this unconstitutional. Rudimentary body armor can be made with ceramic tiles and truck bed liner. Not to mention metal plates, anyone heard of ar500 armor?

  48. The key phrase there is "never be solved" - it doesn't matter what the U.S. does or doesn't do. The hate will never die.   There will be no peace in the Middle East until there is no Middle East; by that I mean that the human population will have gone the way of the dinosaur OR the earth has been destroyed to make way for an intergalactic bypass.
