This is my 3 year old border collie Sophie. She's so smart it's scary and a very loving dog. She's also a real ham.... 3 points

Evidently I have little to zero willpower becasue I bought these on January 2. Top revolver is a Smith & Wesson Model 686-1 and the other is a Smith & Wesson Model 66-2. I'm a revolver addict. What can I say? The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. I just don't see a 12-Step Program in my near future.3 points

Inbreeding is a massive problem in all breeds. That's why we should spay/neuter, adopt from shelters, and give dogs that otherwise wouldn't have love a place they can call their forever home. Dogs biggest source of problems are human beings. Humanity playing God and altering the natural progression of dog breeds causes so many problems. I wish breeders and puppy mills would go out of business, but there are just too many people that walk into awful pet stores and fall in love with animals completely unaware of the conditions they are born into. We've all ignorantly supported these businesses before. My family is guilty of it, and the dogs I had growing up had health problems due to breeding practices. As for pure breeds, there are countless rescues dedicated to specific breeds. This is something I'm really passionate about, and I get tired of people using dogs and other animals for selfish reasons. As smart and refined as humans are, we are also selfish, arrogant, and disgusting in some of our practices.3 points

You obviously haven't ran into a large lot of fans of ANY type. There are rude fans of every team in the nation, means nothing for the rest of us.3 points

In light of the horrible incident involving a canine and their owner I say we post photos of our companions, and if you want give a little back ground to yours, to raise some spirits. My little gal is named Shade and I "inherited" her when my sisters girlfriend abandoned her in their breakup. She was forced on me but then, my sis didn't exactly have to twist my arm too hard. She is a total sweetheart and LOVES people but has an insatiable appetite of the avian variety, particularly chickens. Though she did come back one day with a buzzard... I caught her asleep here. Full on passed out on her back. Sent from the future using a flux capacitor.2 points

I picked up a used Mossberg 500 for stupid cheap at the LGS where I have good friends yesterday. We took it to the milling machine and cut the 24" barrel at 18.5" then surfaced it to make it perfectly square. Now we just need to drill and tap for a front bead, and I am going to strip, age, darken and refinish the wood to fit the trench/old school theme, and probably add a blued heat shield down the road at some point. For now I've got a good 5 + 1 home defense and general purpose shotgun.2 points

This one is around 11" OAL with a blade right around 5 7/8". It's made from 1/4" thick 1095 carbon steel professionally heat treated to a RC of 60. The scales are a combination of black G10 and red linen micarta with grey liners. It has two choils and an unsharpened swedge or false edge. I really like the ergonomics on this knife and as you see fits very well in a mans hand. It also has jimping along the spine just forward of the scales. I've applied mineral oil to the knife and haven't wiped it all off yet. That's why it's so shiny. The reason for the two choils is for more delicate or close up work and you can see how well the fingers fit.2 points

This one is around 11" OAL with a blade right around 5 7/8". It's made from 3/16" thick 1095 carbon steel professionally heat treated to a RC of 60. The scales are a combination of black G10 and OD G10 with grey liners. It has an unsharpened swedge or false edge. This knife has great ergonomics and fits very well in a mans hand. It also has jimping along the spine just forward of the scales. Like the last one is also has a stone washed finish. I've applied mineral oil to the knife and haven't wiped it all off yet. All those morons do is look for a crowd and then they burst in and interrupt it. They don't care what it is about as long as the news medias might cover them which of course they do. If the press would quite promoting these protests and begin degrading them they might quit all their BS!!!!!!!.................jmho2 points

Thing is though, he is not an ass. He might play one on YouTube or not take shit from customers bitching about a 5 dollar product, but he really isn't. John is a good guy and loyal to his friends and customers. I'm happy to call john a friend. But you certainly don't have to like him or even buy his stuff. He won't mind. I'm not even his target market and most of the Internet isnt either. But we keep giving him money and making Camden richer. So he must be doing something right.2 points

This is Bandit, she is about 16 months old? Mostly Lab. Sharp as a tack, and fully devoted to the family. Well trained, mostly well behaved and she loves to cuddle. She also loves to play. We got her from here on the board when she was just over a month old. I hope the rest of her litter mates did well, but Bandit knows she won the lottery. I have a cat too, Moeko, but she won't sit peacefully and pose for a picture in exchange for a tortilla chip. She has been with us for ten years now. She is a good cat.1 point

Dogs attack joggers and kids/adults on bikes/motorcycles all the time. Even if they don’t bite; the people can be hurt trying to get away. Allowing dogs to run loose should be a criminal violation. It’s pretty easy to get a civil judgment from them, but most of the people that are that irresponsible don’t have anything to get.1 point

The armor isnt light. I have not weighed the gear but would estimate maybe about 25lbs or so. Now after I get a chance to take some classes wearing it, I may opt for something slightly lighter but that doesnt break the bank in the process. I have mainly worn it to get used to the extra weight and have done some push ups and burpee type movements so I wont fall out. I am getting back into shape and am pretty sure that it will get easier as my cardio and strength comes back... In a nutshell, if all you can afford is steel, get them. IMHO, any protection is better than none. But if you can afford more and can make a knowledgeable purchase go another route to see the weight reduction without loss of performance...1 point

It'll fall over if you stop. :) This is a bit of a drive, but probably worth it. http://www.offroad-training.org/DBS-Front-Page.html Here's another option closer to home: http://trialstrainingcenter.com/schedule/trials-training-days/ I've found this book to be pretty helpful. http://www.amazon.com/How-Ride-Off-Road-Motorcycles-Dual-Sport/dp/07603427331 point

An open field. Practice and take it easy. Let you in on a few secrets. 99.9% chance you will never have a wreck until you start thinking you're good. If you ever catch yourself thinking you're getting good at it....take a break. Also, get a GOOD helmet. If you have a $2 head then wear a $2 helmet. Appraise the value of your body and spend money on boots, helmet etc accordingly. No one who rides regularly ever says, man I wish I had bought cheap crap instead of this top shelf stuff. No one.1 point

Our club gets supplies from Gamaliel's pretty routinely. I've also ordered direct from them (all but powder) - no issues. Powder is scarce as hen's teeth right now, but all other components seem to be readily available. As far as loads: been using Gun Club hulls, Downrange JXL wads and Nobel Sport primers for a good while now with no issues. GC hulls seem to last forever - I have at least 8 loads on most of mine, with many now on #10 or higher - no splits, etc. Been dropping 1oz 7.5 into a JXL wad over 18.3 grains of Red Dot/Promo for singles/cap load (up to 21 yards), and backing up to about 17.5 powder and 1oz #8 for first shot doubles load, keeping all other components the same (just for simplicity sake).1 point

I've owned a ton of those engines from GM...pretty much every camaro or trans am I've owned since 1999 "including my current Trans Am" is the 5.7 version of your motor so I know them inside and out. If you take care of them they'll last well into the 300,000 mile range before a rebuild needs to be done or considered. I would highly recommend adding 1 ounce of TWC-3 marine oil for every 5 gallons of gas you have in the tank. It helps lube everything up and it will help break down carbon build up in the engine "and with 150,000 miles it's going to have some carbon build up lol". You should notice an idle difference after about 2 tanks "usually helps MPG by about 5% as well". Its an old hot rodders trick and it works very well. I've been doing it for years...if you want to see how dirty the inside of the engine is you can run some Sea-Foam through a vacuum line and it'll blow all of the junk out of the exhaust but I'm not a fan of this one because Sea Foam is a solvent and it can clog your cats when it blows everything out the exhaust. At this point I wouldnt mess with the transmission if its shifting solid and smooth...transmissions are like happy baby's, dont mess with them if they arent whining... I would check a few places for leaks if you havent already. The rear main seal on the 5.3's and 5.7's are usually a weak point and they'll leak at the back of the motor and where the bell housing meet "pray to god this isnt leaking because its a PITA to replace even though the seal is only like $20". Point number 2 is going to be the rear differential...they develop a really slow leak right at the bottom of the rear diff after they get up in mileage where the cover bolts on and where the drive shaft enters the diff. Plugs and wires are a must if they havent been done recently. Standard AC Delco wires will work, no need for MSD or anything like that. You could replace the coil packs, but its not really necessary...the truck coils from GM are actually the best ones they make and a lot of the corvette and camaro guys switch over to those after they start modding engines. Take the Mass Air Flow Sensor out and spray it down with MAF cleaner "do NOT use brake cleaner or anything other than MAF cleaner". Let it dry for a good 30minutes and pop it back in...while you have the MAF out go ahead and clean the throttle body with a toothbrush and some carb cleaner. Cleaning the MAF will make a huge difference at idle most of the time...what type of air filter does it have on it right now? K&N, paper, etc? That should get you started...1 point

It's funny how they can stop and search a person from out of state because they might have a firearm but they can't stop and check someone that looks like they may be from a foreign country to see if they are here legally.1 point

In God we trust! Everyone else pay cash......With out a dealer license you might have a problem with insurance for your investment. I understand you will require them to provide it. But I don't know how you would force them to. If your going to go into financing autos for people you need to figure out how to cover yourself.1 point

I can't remember all that much about it. Don't know what brand upper it is. I do know that the bolt is not ramped and I do have the 9mm hammer. It has a mag block that secures with an allen wrench and uses Colt pattern mags. It has last shot hold open, but that rarely works. Don't know why. I bought the upper, mag block and mags from a member on here, slapped it on a Double Star lower and went to blasting. Wish I could remember more details for you.1 point

Well, I finally seen another deer I could take a shot at. She came up over the hill on my neighbors property, I grabbed my rifle but could not locate her again. She then jumped the fence to my side to a clearing, so I took the shot. She dropped immediately then seen another coming up the hill toward the first, which is why she jumped the fence. Took a shot at that one too, but this one took off. She ran almost 50 yards with what turned out to be a heart shot. The first one I hit in the neck, no spine but enough shock to drop her. Hope everyone had a good season this year...now for a few of those pesky squirrels.1 point

Man this turned into a great topic. Thanks for all the tips. I definitely can't afford a brand new bike right now. And may not buy anything for a while, I just like exploring the options. My backpack would be lite nothing heavy, just water, lunch and maybe a rain jacket. And if carrying the bag the trail would be an easy one, just using the bike to save walking....so that I can walk more after getting to the work area :) I also agree that 250, 300 is probably plenty of bike for me.1 point
-
If you're able to spend more, the other bike I can suggest is a KTM 300 EXC. It's a "do all" bike that I've always wanted. The video does a good job in the begining at explaining why a 2 stroke still wins the hearts of many folks. 1 point

Me and another kid in school used to have 2 sea bags each full of toy guns. We had WAR!!! every day at recess for 2 straight years during 5th and 6th grade. We pretty much armed everyone down to the 4th grade and the 3rd graders who the teachers would let play with us. 3rd graders make excellent Prison Camp guards and scout/spies. Just imagine the horror and court ordered psych evals and forced medication they'd have us all under if we were kids doing that now.1 point

Unbeknownst to many in Tennessee, the color orange is in fact not a property of the University of Tennessee Volunteers and frequently enjoys use as a color for items to which attention is desired to be drawn. Also, I'm not a Vols fan. :)1 point

I've witnessed ours run for his life, unsuccessfully on the hardwood floors for lack of traction I might add, on more than one occasion when a cabinet door was shut too loudly or a pot or pan fell onto the floor. It's like watching a giraffe try to breakdance on a frozen pond.1 point

Maybe not SBR because it's not designed to be fired from the shoulder, but definitely NFA. As I recall, those are "Machinegun Jumblies". Since they're from the 1960s, they predate the 80's ban on new production, so they'd be grandfathered in once they're NFA registered.1 point
-
Also, wonder if shouldering a bare buffer tube will soon be illegal as well. The NFA needs to go away in a major way. Why should it matter whether I shoot from the shoulder or not? The rounds are just as effective regardless whether I shoulder it or not. Bet a lot of people will be returning their Christmas gifted Sig braces now.1 point
