  2. My youngest who's five was sitting beside me this morning while I was looking at this thread. He looked at this deer and said, "Oh man, dad. Mom and I saw that deer on the road the other day. I'm so glad your friend found it and brought it home."

  3. Nope, because none of us are communist hippies! Actually my HCP was denied because it came back because they said I spent time in Pendleton military prison (or some military prison, can't remember which one) I was like WTF? That must've been one hell of a drunk because I don't remember that. They got it straightened out though. Paperwork mishaps happen all the time, I wouldn't stress.

  7. As the title states the Nashville area is not the sound out. I would like to wish a Happy Thanksgiving to all of my TGO members and all that follow this wonderful forum. Thanks to Dave and all the moderators for keeping the place clean ( even for letting me stay). I am greatfull for everything I have, my family, my new granddaughter, my wonderful guns, and to be at my old age of 57. Life is good .... Bless you all.

  8. It actually is not a machine gun. Could be purchased by anyone legal to own a firearm on a 4473 and you could walk out the door with it today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. I've heard it said, in fact, I've said it myself, that the .30 caliber of 1906 is the finest, most versatile cartridge in the world. I always felt justified in parroting this pearl of wisdom, because logic &, frankly, hundreds of thousands of people prove it to be true. However I always felt a wee tad hypocritical saying this, as a complete caliber whore, because until today....I've never actually owned one. I've bought several, but only because it's the cheapest way to buy a Savage that I've immediately rebarrelled to something sleeker, sexier, faster, bigger etc... I've never actually touched a single round of from an '06. In. My. Life So now as the immensely proud owner of an American classic, the Rifleman's Rifle, the venerable Winchester model 70, lovingly nestled in a stunning, quilted walnut stock; I need someone to school me on the rascal. What bullets work for which critter? What powders are giving the best, consistent loads? Who likes what brass? What've you shot, how far was it & how happy were you with the performance? Who wants to buy a Savage 110 in .280ai? Why did I have the visceral urge to buy this thing? Is it compulsory to buy a full sized 1911 now? Shouldn't it have come with a Greencard?

  12. I'm going to leave enrollment open until the Saturday after Thanksgiving and then send out the names. So, if you want in you need to get me your particulars by this weekend.

  14. What's the worst that could happen....you end up quickly evacuating that big Thanksgiving meal and don't gain a bunch of weight. At least that's how I always look at the risk of a stomach virus. HBH is delicious, I would risk it all day long and twice on Thanksgiving.

  19. I hear about this all the time in Tennessee. Dozens of transactions and nothing. I move up to Kentucky and I can expect about a third of mine to be delayed. They are always given the go ahead the next day, but for some silly reason I get delayed up here often enough. Every purchase at Bud's has been delayed. To the point I won't drive the hour over there anymore since it always results in a trip back the next day.

  20. Yeah it's just a dual out vs a single out with the 2500. I'm assuming it affects the sound somewhat. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk

  23. Thanks, I am pretty happy with him. All my bucks seem to have tall antlers. The buck I shot last year was 18" tall spike looked almost like a pronghorn. But as much i like antlers i love having the meat. I was thinking of doing a European mount with this one.

  24. Dave's on point. TICS has a high rate of denial. Just need to file the appeal and possibly contact the court where your misdemeanor was adjudicated for records of its final dispensation. That is usually the piece of info that's missing and holding up the works. That thread Dave linked has all that info in detail.

  25. Best advice is to watch as many videos as you can with similar setups to get a feel for how it is going to sound. The smaller muffler will almost always be louder than the larger muffler, of course.

  27. Holy crap. $13 M&P mags?!?!?! I still have almost a dozen in the packaging... must... resist! And $15 for extended M&P 45 mags?!?! If anyone in the Nashville area is jumping on these mag deals and is willing to let me get in on the action, please get me 2 of the 14rd M&P45 mags. I don't have an M&P45 yet, but it's on my short list and at that price I'd happily toss a few mags in a drawer to await their hosts arrival. I might add 2 15rd M&P 40 mags, too. I simply can't justify 10 more pistol mags for myself right now. :/

  30. Not on ammo but at least a quantity discount. At $35.00 a pop I wonder what quantity will get you a discount? Cases are stainless steel and can be reloaded several times. 20x138 Loaded ammunition $35 each + shipping (truck freight only) with quantity discounts available.

  31. Not so sure it would even require a 4473. It's pre-1898, technically not even a gun. They could mail it to your door.

  32. I'll show ya mine if ya show me yours! I like 150 grain cup & core bullets for deer. 165s would work fine as well. Save the 170s and 180s for bigger stuff. IMR 4064, 3031, and 4350 all work well in the 06. I've yet to find bad brass for one. The WalMart Remington 150 grain green box loads will shoot good as anything you'll find, and will kill deer dead. ^^^The "original" aught six!

  33. +1 on a rescue. All the papers in the world don't guarantee a healthy, trouble free dog. Not to mention the thousand(s) you spend on the dog, could go a long way towards vet bills IF anything were to pop up. *In full disclosure I should mention that we have fostered and re-homed several dogs in the past, so I'm a little biased.

  35. You now have immunity from all future panic buys. No one panic buys .30-06 ammo. Why? Men with .30-06s don't panic.

  36. $20/brick for the plinking stuff is about where I'll start buying it again. Before this mess happened I already had a good reserve built up but I've not been shooting 22 at the rate I was before this stuff go crazy. I want to get back to where I can buy it a case at a time at a reasonable price. I just hate having a bunch of miss matched brands that make it a pain in the ass to stack.
