Cut up my first elk hindquarter. Starting in the upper right and going counter wise we start with some nice steaks from the top sirloin, a small sirloin roast, some thin steaks from the bottom sirloin (will be pounded out and made into chicken fried steak), shank, fajita strips from the bottom sirloin, two large roasts and the eye of round.3 points

To put a legal business out of business. If you can't get what you want legally, use what you got. A raid doesn't have to produce evidence of crime, It only has to intimidate and scare potential customers off. ATF headache solved.3 points

So your point is that one person should not be able to purchase any amount he or she can legally buy? If the statement is correct, this person is a "shooter" and saw that his needs and supplies might be cut off; so he prepared himself for that event. This is wrong? Do you have any "extra" ammo above and beyond your "reasonable shooting needs" stored away? And who decides what "reasonable needs are? No, I have to disagree with you on this. You probably, at least you should be, keeping a bit of extra foods and other supplies in your home. Who decides what amount of that is reasonable? YOU. So while I might envy a person's preparedness, I will not besmirch him for it.2 points

I've begun to embrace the mask. Hat brim pulled down, mask high and tight and choice of dark sunglasses... The new well dressed man. I used it to announce, "stay away from me." I don't want unknown people particularly close me, healthy or otherwise. Social distancing should make it a little more obvious if a BG is trying to close distance.2 points

Henry has both. But the Solothurn was the star of the show. Rumors of a sequel have been around for many years. If it's going to happen it better be soon. John Ross is not particularly healthy.2 points

In case no one has told you yet.... It ain't about your health. The inconsistency you are observing is real, and belies the truth. We are each able to choose whether we accept what we are told, or what we observe. That ringing in your ears when you try, is called cognitive dissonance. Your brain already knows the truth, your consciousness is trying to decide if its better to just stick your head in the sand. The consequences of accepting the alternative _is_ a wee bit uncomfortable for some.2 points

And that's a good thing, a consequence of nominating and confirming conservative justices. One of the hallmarks of conservatism in jurisprudence is a reluctance to intervene in states' internal matters, as well as a strict interpretation of constitutional law. The SCOTUS upheld these ideals in rejecting the Texas case and their refusal to allow one state to dictate to others how to run their elections. The Trump administration (well, along with Mitch McConnell who has probably been more instrumental in shaping the federal judiciary to be honest) has put an indelible conservative stamp on both the SCOTUS and the remainder of the Federal court system, actions which will do more to benefit the country than any of Trump's other endeavors. However one of the consequences of seating more conservative judges is to lessen the influence that politics and politicians have on the judiciary. This is a good thing, even if it causes Trump to have a hissy fit over this one case rejection ...2 points

Ha, ha, ha I remember when I was 10 feet tall and bulletproof. Ah… those were the days. Enjoy them while you can; they will be over before you know it. Covid is real, I’m too old, and my IQ is too high to act silly…or reckless.2 points

Lord I've kicked the hornet's nest (appreciate the mostly civil reactions) Alright keeping this simple: I personally believe in background checks for all firearms at point of sale (not private person to person) I'm not a fan of Polymer 80's build and bang kit because I do believe its just a simple perversion of the law. (much like those "fuel filter" suppressor kits on facebook marketplace) I do wish some of this passion was shown by the older folks here when Reagan was banning no new machine guns for civilians....still can't believe you all and the NRA rolled over for that one. I wish some more passion was shown when Trump used executive order to ban bumpstocks after one mass shooting. At the end of the day I guess firearms to felons doesn't really matter at all when we are experiencing a 9/11 every day in this country due to silly politics and anti-science beliefs. When the USA is losing 3,000 per day (which we all acutely felt recently with the passing of our good friend Mikey) who cares about some gun violence that doesn't even move the needle.2 points

Bradbury covered the technique beautifully in Fahrenheit 451. Are we at War with EastAsia? Who cares, time for the 2 minutes hate everyone! What scares me (not to segue), but if your eyes are open and you were exposed to this literature in HS, it is literally happening before your eyes. We were warned. Exactly as laid out in Huxleys works, too.2 points

Here's more happy news for you all: BATFE is now visiting consumers who purchased the Polymer 80 "Buy, Build, Shoot" kits and demanding forfeiture and threatening that they will return with a warrant and raid the consumer's home. https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2020/12/11/polymer80-kits/ This #### is 100% unacceptable. BATFE is clearly getting ballsy now that they think a new captain will be at the wheel of the ship in a few weeks. Buckle up, folks. It's going to be ugly if Harris and her rickety old Trojan Horse get into office.2 points

I'll apologize to all, for what I said. Im an A$$hole and I know it and its not fair to sling anything at anyone and its not right. Ill also say this, when someone claims your peaceful activity should be illegal you should be offended. They're saying although you harm no one you should be forced into a cage for what you enjoy doing. Don't call yourself a libertarian if thats the way you think. You're not a libertarian. Many a right has gone down the drain because Republicans will actively support "common sense" restrictions and that leads to openings for further legislation to chip away at your rights. Also, i don't beleive you should have to compromise in a situation where your actions and or the ownership of property is peaceful and does not directly result in harm to others. Murder is illegal, assualt is illegal. Do we need to go further? Do we need to ban hammers and ice picks? Where is the line? Further why is it at that exact spot? Why stop at hommade firearms?2 points

They can be shipped to your home by any carrier, including the USPS. As I understand it, most places are sold out because of the Covid virus in Italy is causing real problems with manufacturing and shipping. This is where most of them are made now days. Dixie Gun Works still has a fair selection.1 point

Black powder pistols are not legally considered firearms, require no 4473 and therefore can be shipped directly to your home.1 point

I agreed with you up until the last statement, As a pro car nut, not supporting some emission standards would be calling for the end of the automobile. Restrictions on firearms are unconstitutional. I could write a book on this but I will be brief. The bump stock ban should never have been allowed. To me they are worthless, but, shall not be means shall not be. I am reminded of the prose from the Hitler era. "when they came for me there was no one left to stand"1 point

ACfixer, if you find something and need a partner, let me know, I might be interested, and I will do likewise. Can you specify what you're looking for? We're relatively new here too (2 yrs) and don't know any rural landowners. I'd be interested in deer, ducks, and hogs. Also squirrels and rabbits. All this at a reasonable price.1 point

I can concur. Born and raised Buffalo NY native (you wanna talk about a hard to love team with me?) The football fans up there are absolutely rabid for their home team. Bare chested in the upper deck in an 80k seat outdoor stadium in the dead of January is my definition of a rabid fan. Ain't seen THAT down here just yet, but gotta give it to the Vols fans, they do love their team. It was something I noticed very early when I moved here, made me feel right at home, actually. I've since adopted Smokey and his boys (wasn't any good college ball up that way anyhow). That sense of hometown pride over anything I think is important. You notice it more when its lacking than when its there? I think big(ger) metropolitan areas like Nashvegas get too many transplants, it dilutes that hometown pride thing. Half the residents prolly think of Vandy as that school downtown with no parking.1 point

I met Charley Pride once as a kid in a Golden Corral in Anniston, Alabama. I was over there with my grandfather, and he was there having lunch. No one seemed to bother him - and truthfully I don’t know that anyone noticed him. But on my way out we passed his table and I said, “hello, Mr. Pride.” He smiled and proceeded to have a lengthy conversation with a kid who probably wasn’t more than 10 or 11. He wasn’t too far from the height of his fame, but he wasn’t too big or important to take the time to talk to a kid. He’s had a fan in me ever since.1 point

I hope the general public is as against vaccines as this forum is; then I might get it before next summer….if I live that long. I’m tired of this. I want to go out, I want to go to the range. But the risk is too high. I’m not going anywhere, but my wife is still working, and they are testing positive at her workplace a lot. So it’s just a matter of time. Time is not on my side.1 point

I really don't see how they could accomplish this feat. The cops can barely keep peace in the streets as it is and I feel very sure that keeping the peace is going to get worse really quick with all this corruption in our election. These are perilous times we are living in folks. Be safe out there!! And have a Merry Christmas. God is still in control, regardless who may or may not be in control in Washington, D.C. !!!1 point

How long is this mask debate going to go on? Really, it’s beyond ridiculous. All of a sudden everyone is an Internet epidemiologist who never really cared about their fellow humans to begin with, much less understand basic, common sense, grade school science. The confirmation bias of hearsay just continues to spread the virus. I hate this situation with a passion, but I’m not going to let personal arrogance get in the way of doing the right thing...and I am extremely independent and arrogant in many ways.1 point

You might be crimping too hard which can expand the shoulder. The .30-30 is notorious for this. Remove the depriming pin and run a loaded round through the sizing die again. Then see if it chambers.1 point

Reefermac came up with the word I've been looking for for years. I put some tunes on in the workshop area, clear the clutter from my reloading bench, and start sizing brass... its therapeutic like any mindless repetitive task. After a bad day at work, and after the three S's, I head for the loading room and pound out a few hundred rounds, Works great both for my nerves and for the ammo cabinet.1 point
