  3. But we also preach dry fire practice. Each of the four rules has an exception. That's why there are four. If you break any one of the rules, at worst, its an ND. Bad stuff doesn't happen until you break two or more simultaneously. Maybe we aren't doing a good enough job of teaching that aspect to people.

  4. This may have been posted here before , heck I may have posted this before but anyways , I just watched a few of the Mossberg pistol videos and everyone is so happy of how you don't have to pull the trigger to disassemble it. My question is this : Why the heck are so many people scared to pull the trigger to disassemble an EMPTY gun ? I have never understood this. It' so bad that some people wont buy Glocks and others like them. It isn't rocket science. Just clear the gun and take it apart. But now the new generation has taken over and making newer guns with things to where you don't have to pull that DANGEROUS TRIGGER. I honestly want to know what the big deal is . Clear the gun and you're good to go . Ok my rant is over .

  5. I ran into bigun early last week in front of the little neighborhood grocery in Munford that sold that $500+ Million lottery ticket last year. We got to talking about the lottery which jogged my feeble memory of something I intended to do last year but kept putting it off. I sent the following to my House Rep. In Nashville. There was more to it, samples of reasons and such but this was the meat of it. Maybe if this is brought up by House Reps. and State Senators from all over the state it could get done. I can’t think of one single reason why anyone would be against it except for those who are anti-lottery. I’m writing to request legislation be passed that would allow lottery winners in our state to remain anonymous. There are currently seven states that allow winners to remain anonymous if they desire and I believe Tennessee should be added to that group. I’m sure this could be passed by our representatives and Governor, which would be the easiest way, but if placed on the ballot of a general election I believe it would be approved by at least 95% of the voters.

  7. I actually replaced a TRS25 with a Romeo 5. They are the same basic size. The reason I changed was the "shake awake" technology in the Romeo. I use mine on my home defense rifle. I just leave the sight on, and it goes to sleep until I grab the gun. REAL long battery life in that mode.

  8. Some like it hot. Some are crazy. I eat most any hot sauce, currently in my fridge are various habanero, ghost pepper, and scorpion pepper sauces. I'm apparently crazy. However, a week ago, I discovered a sauce at Aldi. It isn't all that hot to me (my taste may be biased towards the hotter sauces), but it has an amazing flavor. I've tried the "Chipotle" so far. It isn't that hot but has an amazing smoky flavor. I've nearly been drinking the stuff. It quickly became one of my favorite sauces of all time. So today, I went back to Aldi to purchase all the flavors. Only $1.89 each. I asked the cashier at checkout if that was something they normally stocked, she said that she didn't think so and thought it was for the Super Bowl time period. I may go back and buy all of them.

  11. Every manual is pretty clear in what are usually large call-outs that the gun needs to be cleared before cleaning. If that's not a deliberate process which would set your mind at ease because you've checked and re-checked that the magazine is not present, the chamber is clear, and the extractor isn't holding a bullet in place, you're probably not someone who needs to be handling firearms.

  16. I don't normally buy on impulse, especially when it comes to guns. But the other night I made a rare exception. I took a quick trip to Sportsman's Warehouse near me to pick up some patches and other gun cleaning supplies I was running low on. As I was browsing the gun rack I saw this beautiful Remington Model 7600 Pump Action 200th Anniversary Edition in .30-06 sitting there. I asked to see it. The nice young kid behind the counter handed it to me, and the rifle was absolutely gorgeous! The Walnut was some of the best I've ever seen on ANY rifle at any cost. Both the butt stock, as well as the forend had what seemed to be endless figure and contrast, coupled with a beautiful high gloss finish. The bluing was very well done, with a very high luster and polish throughout. The gold inlays showed very nice detail on both sides of the receiver, as well as on the pistol grip cap. There is a nice gold inlayed barrel band at the muzzle. The fit and finish of all the wood and metal was as good as it could be. I had seen several of these 200th Anniversary Edition Remington's at Cabela's over the last year and a half. And I almost sprung for a 7600 they had. But I just couldn't justify the price, ($1,595.00), they were asking. It's not that the gun wasn't worth it. It was. But it's a lot for a gun that's a safe queen, and you're basically buying to admire, and not to run up a high round count on. So when I asked this kid how much, I just about fell over when he told me $899.00! I said are you sure? He double checked, and came back with the manager and said yes, they were on a special clearance. I couldn't say, "I'll TAKE IT", fast enough! For that price there is just no way I was going to leave without it. When my wife saw it, she was impressed as well. It's just a beautiful rifle. Remington sure did a nice job on it, I'll say that. This is just a quick and dirty phone pic.

  22. Bubly/Buble was the only one that came close to being funny to me, and any other year that would have been a 2nd or 3rd tier commercial. The Bud Light ones were a flop to me. We get it....you don't use corn syrup and the other guys do....we got that after the first one....stop already. I'm still not sure what the point of the GoT/Bud Light crossover was. Did they just end the Bud Light "Dilly! Dilly! Kingdom" ad campaign because the Bud Knight got killed and the kingdom got razed by GoT?? I'm confused. The usually solid Budweiser was also a flop with "hey! look at us! we use windmills!" I'm with Mac on liking the Microsoft gaming one, but it has been running for about a week now. On a similar vein I liked Google's Translate ad, but neither of them were what I'd call "entertaining" #SleeperBowl

  26. A house bill is going to be introduced to provide Self Defense Immunity, similar to the one in FL. I hope they will tweek it, so that it doesn't have the pitfall of the one in FL. Write your representatives. Ask your state senator to sponsor a sister bill in the senate. And, follow progress at TFA.

  29. Don't have a dog in this fight, so that's what my opinion is worth. Agree with the previous post on warranty, don't need it or really need it. It appears a great warranty, but poor turn times which add to customer frustration. Results are the folks with issues get really loud on the internet. Folks with solid guns don't post much for fear of being ridiculed for buying one. If I was looking at budget friendly handguns, for a few bucks more, I'd probably revisit Ruger

  33. Oh, it got cracked open the night I got it, and shared as well. I know now what I like, but I don’t have the vocabulary to describe whiskys and wines. I couldn’t tell you what peaty means. What I can say is that it’s smoother than the 12, but significantly less smooth than the 18. I love the 18, I like the 15, the 12 is good, the 10 is terrible.

  43. I use to get the 18 before I tried some other scotches that were more malt intense. I started to notice the backend of peat the 18 had that wasnt as noticeable in the 15. Couple drops of water handles that 3 years of age in my opinion. I now like the 15 a bit better. But I'd never say no to it if someone force one on me
