  1. I am a big Glock fan. So I have been on a Glock forum for quite a few years (I am not going to name it out of repsect for the FEW nice members on that forum) . But I have got to tell you , that place is full of immature people acting like a bunch of kids. I go there to get ideas on my Glocks and seek out information that I can use for my Glocks and to help other Glock owners from my experiences. I am as nice as I can be but WOW , the people there are unbelieveable . I can get on here and ask a question and all responses are always respectable and curtious.  When I come here it is so relaxing and the members here have been so nice. I have bought guns from members here and sold to members here and I have never met a bad person at all. I dont know if it is because most of us are from the south or that all our members are just mature nice people. But I just wanted to share with you guys how nice of a forum this place is and glad that it hasnt turned out like other forums.

  4. He, and the other open carry dumba$$ advocates who purposely stage it for a police response are doing us no favors. Laws give us privileges. Screw with the gray matter enough of any said law and someone will move to change it. Carry your gun, open or concealed, but quit looking for a fight with LE to become a news spectacle, because we all could lose in the end.

  5. Kwik seems to be TGO's case of the clap. No matter what kind of shot this forum gets, it still has periodical outbreaks.

  6. I do believe your "make paid hog hunts illegal" idea is the absolute best way to go! And the TWRA might should go as far as to offer a reward for the turning in of folks who try to charge. Either way, your idea makes far more sense than the route they went. Maybe that's why they didn't go that route... can't have a government agency using anything that could be construed as common sense.

  7. There's no doubt that every one of us have allowed our government to slowly erode our rights, turning them into their own interpretations. We all have an invisible line, and some are willing to be pushed farther than others. For some, that invisible line won't be crossed until they come kicking in your door to confiscate your guns. Sadly, for countless more, their invisible line will be even further than that.   You're not likely to find many who are willing to admit it, but most are scared to death of the government, and that's exactly how our leaders want it. A fearful society is an obedient society. Some people are fearful of death, while others are fearful of losing their freedom and material possessions. As long as the masses are fearful, the government can obviously do whatever they want.    As of this moment, Leonard is on a one-man mission. I don't believe he is some sort of undercover anti-gunner who's out to make all gun owners look like whackos. I believe his invisible line has been crossed, and he's legally (pending the outcome of this event) doing what he feels necessary to make his point. I'm not sure it's the best option, but I do have respect for his willingness to stand up for what he believes.

  9. The economy tanked because of business practices and Banks turning into casinos (all over the world, not just the USA). The government exacerbated the problem with massive bailouts, started under a Republican President and  continued by a Democrat President. Neither party has any desire to fix anything. The goal here is to seize as much power and money as you can with your elected office. Until the U.S. comes up with a viable third party and dismantles the Rep and Dem parties we are stuck with chaos. Your votes don't matter and your opinions are worthless. We are the "little People" of Romney's country club set and we just don't count.   I was a Republican for 40+ years but now I am just an American and I don't like or trust either party.

  13. Agree or disagree with Voldemort, this is a terrible line of thinking. Laws do not give privileges, laws infringe on rights. The idea that we have to seek permission from the state to exercise natural rights is what got us into the sorry state we are in now.

  14. Good motives????    :screwy:    If Leonard Embody is a "gun advocate" then I'm an flying unicorn. The only thing Embody is an advocate of is getting his name in the news and I suggest he has a serious mental condition that needs to be evaluated.   RESPONSIBLE gun owners and true advocates for our unalienable right to arms DO NOT BLATANTLY break the law nor do things that may be just shy of breaking the law just to get our names in the news.

  17. Don't be shy, jump on in! I'll even start it for ya! Any use of SWAT/tactical/doorkicker/überHSLD/whatever by civilian law enforcement when there isn't the immediate danger of loss of innocent life is not only ill advised, it is an immoral and illegitimate act of war against the American public as a whole. :D

  18. This thread is ripe with fear. Post after post expressing fear of what potential legislation might be passed because someone dared "bear arms" in public. The only reason you all feel this fear is because your "inalienable rights, which shall not be infringed" have generation after generation slowly become fragile privilages, which are ever-infringed upon every time that the left gets enough votes to do so. It's happened so many times that the fear has become Pavlovian.

  19. I am very pro-Second Amendment and I carry with a HCP. But I question the tactics some posters seem to endorse.   " Let's go out and scare the hell out of those woosies who outnumber us and are on the edge of voting to  pass anti-gun legislation."     That seems to me to be right up there with poking yourself in the eye with a sharp stick.

  20. It was a rifle. OC with a rifle is going to raise eyebrows. It probably would not have gathered the attention he obviously wanted, or he would have tried it with a pistol AGAIN. It became old hat after Radnor and... crap, where was the Navy pistol in the hand stunt? Are you just being obtuse for sport?   Some time ago, he pulled a traffic light stunt between Hendersonville and Gallatin. Traffic law says that at a non-functioning signal, you are supposed to come to a complete stop. There was a signal that wasn't just not functioning, but was still bagged and not ready for use. Dorkenstein goes back and forth on Gallatin Rd, stopping at this "signal" every time, disrupting traffic flow, until an officer finally shows up. Of course, he cites statute and all about how what he's doing is correct according to law. Couple days later, the signal was taken down.   This asshat has had ALL the benefit of the doubt anyone should get in a lifetime. Stop trying to make excuses for someone who's intent is obvious. He wants media attention and lawsuit payoffs, plain and simple. He has no interest in furthering ANY rights of any kind. He IS a "flaming douchetard." (MAN, I LOVE that phrase!!!)

  21. Search Engine Optimization.  ... probably necessary, and is the rage in web-marketing..  but probably every single person on here besides me can better tell you about who to hire.      Now...  a certain un-named, young, female country music star was given the task by her father to spend a couple hours each (and every) day on facebook interacting with fans (long) before her career took off.  It was like homework, and it was hard work....  and it did work.  If you could have been looking from the inside, you would've seen someone just as pretty, just as talented with a career track that parelleled hers.... without the difficult and laboriously repetitive ground-pounding on FB - that other someone is still trying to land deals that will make them a living.  The uber-successful star built a personal relationship with her fanbase... one message at a time.      My suggestion is to remember to use the web "presence" to build relationships with individuals.... who, in multiples, turn into identifiable "markets".  ... The difference between you (your dad) and your competitors can be that your relationship with those individuals translates to everyone they know.... blah, blah, blah...    Web presence is good.  Showing up in the top 5 of google is great.   What you do with that web presence can be the key to real, lasting success.    For Example:  If TGO David opened up a coffee shop, a gun shop, or even a quilt shop, how many of you would go out of your way to go in and see him... and find any excuse to buy something from him?   :)  see?   When someone "walks" into your web space, you want to treat them just like if they walked into your office/home/store...  and as close as you can get to "conversational" with them, the more they will feel cared-for and "known" by you.   That's my rambling... there are incredibly smart folks on this site who have put these principles to good use, and I'm thrilled to learn with you as we read their responses.   All the best to your father in his endeavor.

  22. Disagree as I do with his actions, I do have to admit he has definitely gotten more sophisticated with his provocations.

  23. And I could go to the park playground full of kids and start screaming "I have a gun". Since context doesn't seem to matter, that shouldn't be a problem. Maybe after that I can head on down to the old folks home and start screaming "you're all gonna die" all while I'm LEGALLY carrying my rifle. They are going to die eventually, so I don't understand why anyone would ever misconstrue that as a threat simply because I'm LEGALLY carrying my rifle. I guess anyone that thinks that is weird is just a freedom hating commie-nazi hoplophobe who doesn't believe in my rights to keep and bear arms.

  24. TERM LIMITS..!!!! With a 2 term liifetime maximum....NO exceptions.
    2 points
  25. I don't disagree he should have the right to possess a rifle, and even carry it. Context is everything though. He was presenting the image of an active shooter. Body armor and rifle? You know as well as I do what he is trying to provoke. What he is doing is akin to walking around screaming "I have a bomb" then passing it off as free speech. His motives have nothing to do with gun rights. The only reason he has attached himself to it is because it is the best way to get attention and money. I don't know if he broke any laws, but I sure hope he did.

  26. Money.  Power.  Sex.   An old boss of mine told me once that when you're investigating a case and can't seem to find an angle.  Work the above list.  20 years later, I can affirm that he was right.   We really need term limits in a bad way!  Once they get to you, you're nothing but a puppet

  30. Not only can it happen here but I'm convinced that it will happen here...the only real unknown for me at this point is "when".   That's one of the reasons, as I've shard in some other threads, that "who" runs or gets elected in 2014 or beyond is really immaterial at this because it's too late to change that. Our currency is backed by nothing except a promise to pay but we can't pay...we can't even limit our spending to our tax revenues. Between spending over 140% percent of revenues and monetizing our debt it's a house of cards that must collapse

  35.   At one point, there was so much discussion of Embody (aka Quikrnu) on the 'Net, including this forum, that many began to feel that we shouldn't continue to give him any attention/publicity by continuing to discuss his dumbassery ad infinitum.  At that point, some jokingly began to refer to him as 'he whose name shall not be mentioned' which naturally lead to his being called Voldemort.

  36. I'm actually surprised to see them even rounding them up. The law there says you have to have card and if you don't keep it paid up you lose those guns. Nothing illegal about it or evil. They are simply following the rules and laws that they were stupidly passed.

  38. Welp "placating the fear-mongers" has been a losing battle for us, our 2nd Amendment has been & will continue to be constantly under-seige, no matter how compliant we've been with each and every piece of legislation which strips our rights away from us, and they will not stop until "We the People" have been completely disarmed or there is open rebellion against the attempt. You know this, I know this, everyone knows this. The question is how can we (as law-abiding firearm owners) peacefully stop &/or even reverse all of this anti-2nd propaganda & resulting unConstitutional gun-banning legislation before it becomes another contest of arms? Are peaceful armed protests the solution? I personally do not believe provoking the opposition with a force of arms would be productive, protesters holding signs (not firearms), massive letter-writing campaigns, signing petitions, etc are the proper way to do it, however the effectiveness of these traditional methods has so far been questionable, after Sandyhook the anti's still made gains in many states & localities, even if they were unsuccessful at the national level. I'd like to find a peaceful, political revolution/resolution, one that restores the 2nd Amendment as well as the rest of our Constitutional protections & rights, however I do not know if this is even possible at this point, the left is damned & determined to finish "fundamentally transforming" the USA into the USSA.

  39. Right now, in Tennessee we DO have to seek permission.  Carrying a loaded firearm on our person in public is a privilege under current law and we all need to remember that because if we don't remember that then we may do stupid things like this retard that gets the privilege further restricted.   I understand that the right to keep and bear arms is a RIGHT but in Tennessee; that right is not recognized; at least not really...it's going to take time and effort to restore the rights we are supposed to have but idiotic stunts such as those under the subject of this thread will NOT help us at best and likely only be to our detriment.

  40.   Already Done.   The Teacher's Union in Tennessee lost its collective bargaining power in Tennessee a couple of years ago.  Therefore what is left of the union is really a non-player today.   In fact the union never really represented the vast majority of teachers in this right-to-work state.  Its biggest membership was teachers AND administrators in the Metro Nashville & Memphis city school systems.    Teachers aren't the problem - - - even if that is what the politicians want you to believe.

  41. What a freaking idiot. Body armor and a long gun walking in a crowded downtown area, it's a wonder sombody didn't take him for an active shooter and shot him. If something like that would have happened to that clown it would have been a justifable shooting. I'll argue for my 2nd.Amendment rights all day long but there's something mentally wrong with Embody, he's addicted to drama and confrontation and that's probably the least of his problems. If he gets charged with a suppressor and doesn't have a FFL, i'll assume that will be a felony and an end to all his 2nd Amendment rights. Now I disagree with the law on suppressors but i'm sure not going to rally for Embody's defense. Dude has a serious missfire in his brain.

  42. I threw that requirement out; you have no idea what will or will not be outlawed. All we have is wild azz guesses and wishful thinking. You can’t base anything serious on those. Besides that anyone knows you can’t hit the broad side of a barn with a mini 14 if you were standing inside it.

  43. Thanks. That was a throw back to my Army days. It's the term used when referring to a Soldier's lazy, overweight breeding machine that has chained the poor bastard to a life of torture and agony. Terminal Lance just did a comic on it. The term works for lazy folks on the gov tit. Pretty much the same thing. http://terminallance.com/2010/08/06/terminal-lance-56-myths-and-legends-ii-the-dependapotamus/ http://terminallance.com/2013/07/12/terminal-lance-277-late-nights/ Scroll to the bottom on that one.

  44. There is a difference between someone who has earned their gut and someone who hasn't. It's easy to throw out the obesity thing, since most people who are on the gov tit are very overweight. I don't care how much someone weighs so long as I'm not the one funding their EBT cards. When you see a Dependapotomus waddling around the store enjoying all that excess on my dime it is infuriating.

  45. I don't think it really matters how they got here or if they are legitimate game because now they are here, and they are breeding at an incredibe rate. Now they are spreading naturally. I agree with punishing those that transport and release, but I think the TWRA should encourage widespread hunting. Remove the ability to profit from it, but increase the opportunity to hunt them in addition to other measures. posted from my phone

  46.   I continue to disagree, as statute doesn't say that.     Again, it does not say it only applies to permit holders however. I think the intent of the mention of permit holders is just to make it clear it applies to us also.   Further evidence of intent is in the opening statement in statute: "An individual, corporation, business entity or local, state or federal government entity or agent thereof is authorized to prohibit the possession of weapons by any person...".   Hence, I see no reason a person without a permit couldn't be charged with violation of 39-17-1307 and 39-17-1359 under the wording of both statutes.   - OS
