I enjoy it because ...well...I'm an azzhole. Telemarketers use a head set, not a hand set. I talk as quietly into receiver as possible all the while sounding interested. I have an air horn from a fire engine and my compressor puts out just over 150psi here at work. Get them interested but talk quietly. They will turn up,their headset so they can hear me......then, well you're smart, you know what happens next.5 points

During the next 24 to 48 hours, yours truly will be afoot or afloat inside a national park boundary, engaged in sporting activity including fishing and/or hunting, lawfully armed, and with everything else I need except a backcountry permit. Of course I've hunted, fished, canoed, hiked and camped in these parts long before the NPS had any interest in the place. I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanx, Scott Bow aka ttocswob (NSA there's your code - you can stop now) (edit title to distinguish from movie tv show I didn't see and game I didn't play.)4 points

I was wondering around work today and playing in the hardware section when an idea struck. A compact screwdriver that uses drill bit ends. So I thought well an allen head bolt and wingnut should do the trick. The way it sits now though would only be good for screwing something in but I'm going to correct that tonight by chopping the end of the bolt and welding everything together. Once that's done I plan on drilling a small hole and gluing in a neodymium magnet in to hold the bits in. Now I'm no chef but I've been working on chili for quite some time , this is my best yet. Brown up 2 1/2 Lbs. of ground chuck then drain most but not all the tasty grease. Add the ingredients in the first pic but not the box yet. The box is Carroll Shelby's chili Kit , add all the spice pack and none of the others , the Masa will thicken it up if you want to try it , the salt can be added to taste but the spice pack has some in it. Then kick in about 1/2 of the hot pepper packet. Stir until heated to your desire. Feeds about 8 normal people , or 3 gun owners..... :yum: Let me know how ya like it !4 points

One of the libs on MSNBC had a good point last night: The GOP's efforts to trash the ACA, which went nowhere, did lead to the shutdown. Then the shutdown has been all the news, which has totally put just how bad the roll out of ACA has been on the back pages. So ironically, the GOP has aided the ObamaCare PR machine by deflecting most of the bad press which would have hammered home just what how inept its initial implementation has been, and giving the admin time to quietly scramble to patch it up by the time the government reopens. "After all, what do you expect when the government is shut down, things to run well?" -- that kind of spin. And of course now with the drastic turn in some of the polling, the GOP is desperately trying to deal, on ever changing and murky concessions, with no real lever. My take when the dust settles: damn good thing the Republican gerrymandering machine has been so effective, or this would cost us the House in '14. But we've lost significant ground nationally -- Hildebeeste now about 5:1. - OS3 points

I depend on tourism from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for my income. Needless to say it is affecting me financially. I do have to agree with Caster though. I'll go wait tabes if I have to, it pisses me off that people, myself included, can no longer use the park but we do need to quit coddling this thing and let it die. If this government were a human being on life support any person with a shred of compassion would have pulled the plug long ago.2 points

Exactly! Not only that, but you'll be banned from all of TGO, with the exception of a thread titled "We got our TGO uppers and lowers, and Reed1285 didn't. Na-na Na-na Boo Boo."2 points

Saw this after I just back from the Doctor today. I am a cancer survivor. Today I went from six month checks to one year. Being diagnosed with cancer puts other “problems†in perspective; I hope none of you have to hear those words. I am lucky that I had great Doctors, a great hospital, and technology that saved my life and made the treatment easier.2 points

Tanker, I spent the best part of my youth battling cancer with my wife. 9 years we fought. She was 19 when she got it. I wouldn't trade those 9 years for anything.2 points

No matter what they did the Republicans would and are being blamed for everything. When they quite worrying about being everybody's buddy (including the Dems and Obama) and start actually living by the principals they claim, they will win and the polls will still show them loosing. :shake: Polls are propaganda of the media and we all know their agenda is never to back a republican, especially a conservative. I mean come on, they are still blaming Bush for stuff.2 points

Glad it's a good experience for y'all. All the credit goes to Jeff and the guys at CMT. They've really gone above and beyond what any rational person would expect to pull this off and to have these lowers manufactured in Tennessee!2 points

they will not dry right in the dehydrator because they have a protective covering..ie skin..string em up and hang them outside ..take them inside when frost is in the forecast..the sun will dry them so much better than the dehydrator...2 points

It affected me. I've had to endure copious amounts of pointless bitchin'. It's the only thing 99.7 super talk radio talks about. It's just like wheni was a kid and the president was on. Is on every channel! I'm to the point where I really don't care if the power company goes out there and pulls the meter at the White House and the bank ( of china no less!!!) puts a lock on the door. Screw em. Weak animals make meals for the strong. I'll be glad when we as a people stop sheltering this thing and put it down so we can restart/rebuild and get back to some semblance of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. There will never be happiness with the current regime who take STEAL from me because I decided I need to work for what's mine and give it to some lazy ghetto trash cuz somebudy gots to pay to raise my babies! I got a match, who's got some gas?2 points

Woods has been busy tweeting about the slimdown and the President, focusing in particular on the fact that veterans have been unable to visit war memorials in Washington D.C. “This President is a true abomination. To have barricaded the WW2 vets, but allow illegal aliens privilege...†Woods tweeted on Oct. 8. But Woods, 66, was just warming up. The actor also called Obama “just vile. A small, small man.†http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2013/10/10/james-woods-criticizes-obama-says-doesnt-expect-to-find-work-in-hollywood-again/?intcmp=features More and more are turning on him.1 point

I have been rationing my deer meat out for the last year and I have some left over so it's time to use it up. I am making some deer chilli and just thought I'd post it for you other "male cooks" , haha . My part time hobby is cooking and I have cooked all my life since age 10 . When I get the kids out of the house my hobby will be reloading cartridges ! Yee Haw!!!!! But anyways here it is . I make it from scratch and nothing is pre-made . Deer meat is so good since it is not grain fed nor hormone filled . Funniest one was my wife, way back when, who isn't in the stupid category in any way, but..... We rented an old decrepit farmhouse for three years or so, and the upstairs had a big flat ceiling type door that sealed it off before top of the stairs for winter when you didn't want to heat it with wood stove. For some reason she didn't think about it being closed at the time, and she went tearing up the stairs to get something while talking to me at same time and, whammo! And she came tumbling back down the stairs ass over teakettle. Once she ascertained she wasn't dead or maimed, she started laughing hysterically as did I. - OS1 point

I bought the Henry blued .22 for my wife....she loves it...very smooth, light, reliable (when you can find ammo) and affordable. She wanted the Golden Boy until she saw the price and I see no difference except for the cosmetics.....can't go wrong with a Henry no matter what model you choose.....jmho.. :2cents:1 point

well, to update, i just threw the peppers out. had been running constantly for a day and a half, and the habanero's, for whatever reason, just would not dry out. At the rate I was going it wouldve been 3 days before/if they dried out. IDK what the deal was with them. Maybe habanero's just dont do well in a dehydrator? Anyways, my next plan of action is going to my local butcher and buying a top round or eye of round roast to make some jerky! Cant wait to give that a try.1 point

So long as your contact info is good with CMT, you should be good to go with our three major FFLs. If you're shipping to another FFL of your choice, then you'll need to have them fax or email a copy of their FFL to CMT before the lower can be shipped.1 point

I think it can be chalked up to much better imaging and detection methods. Also, I think there is more understanding now about various types of cancer. I think many people died in the past of cancer but were listed as a natural death. It was just "their time" I'm not going to argue that it is big biz... I just think we know a lot more about it now. My wife is now on year 2 of surviving her cancer. We were extremely lucky. the type of cancer she had doesn't present many or any symptoms. She is one of those who could have gone years w/o knowing anything was wrong, go to the doctor and find out she had weeks to live. My wife went into surgery for a relatively rare issue. When the surgeon opened her up he noticed something didn't look right. He probed a little and found an extremely small tumor. He ended up opening her up more than expected and found another small spot which turned out to be a second tumor. He basically had to pull all of her organs out and go through them bit by bit. A 2 hour surgery ended up taking about 6.5 hours and it was a very nerve racking time. The surgeon and his team, and the oncologist that dropped everything on a Saturday to come in and consult did a fantastic job. If they had not cared or gone the extra mile she probably would have been dead in a year or so. That was a horrible conversation to have with a wife waking up in a lot of pain. The astonishing thing is the "retail" price of the medicine she has to take. the full on rate is $7,500 per month. They actually have foundations set up to assist people in purchasing it. We were fortunate that her insurance is part of a very large group and has so far been able to absorb the majority of the cost. If that changes we will face that at that time. The drug makes her sick at times and makes her bones hurt a bunch. However, she is as cancer free as can be determined and her prognosis is another 50 years of life. Her family all lives into their 90's... Mark1 point

I cannot blame the guards for taking the job and standing there. It does not make them a government goon or anything -- just a guy taking one of the few jobs available right now, in most cases. So I have to mildly object to calling the actual workers names etc; they are just doing a job. I also doubt they fire upon a bunch of 90 year old vets if the vets decided to test the situation.1 point

You can pay the extra $11 and send it wherever you want. It would cost me more than that in gas to go to any of the others.1 point

More illegitimate laws to punish the already law abiding. If people were interested in committing crimes with suppressor they surely wouldn't buy a trust and wait 6-12 months for a suppressor. :puke:1 point

You've got to watch them... I hear they can be pretty stealthy...they don't make a sound for you to hear them. I've also heard they are impossible to call in...even with a Primos call. I heard that one is the limit at most hunting places. They say a taxidermist won't touch them...so you can just forget the wall mount. Bet they don't taste like chicken either.1 point

I own many Sigs and Glocks too. I consider myself a Sig guy, but can not ignore the Glock. Think of it this way, the Sig is absolutely a beautiful weapon, smooth, and just sexy. Its kinda like the beautiful classy girl in High School, the one that made your heart race when you looked at her, and the one you would bring home to mama. However, the Glock will do just fine, its ugly, not as sexy. Its kinda like the fat or ugly girls in high school, not to sexy, little plump but sure were dependable to put out if you know what I mean. Both will do fine if you can score! I do know this, if my Sig P220 was to accidently slip out of my hand, and hit the concrete, I would look all over the gun for dents and scratches, and fret about them, however if my Glock 21 fell to the ground, I could care less.1 point

Which is why we need criminal penalties for government employees who knowingly violate state law... She would issue it, or a judge would order her to issue it. And after 1 judge ruling that they had to issue it, they would start doing it for everybody.1 point

I second the primary arms, great scope for the money. Would suggest a burris 1-4x also as they can be found on the cheaper side if you look hard enough usually they come with a pepr mount also (sometimes a fastfire also..).1 point
