1. The events mentioned bring home a sad fact: the Republican Party is self-destructing. I was a Republican right up until Newt Gingich got in bed with Bill Clinton. Since then I have had nothing to do with either party. The Democrats are too populist and Socialist for me ( I am a Free Market person). The Republicans are no longer GOP but Neoconservative. They are too plutocratic to be Free Market.   We are in the same mess Germany was in the 1920’s: you have a choice between Socialism and Fascism. Neither party has any desire to govern this country, they just want the power to rape the middle class. Both parties have sold out to the super-wealthy. The Democrats have too many faults to even start listing here. I have no intention of becoming a Democrat nor defending them.     The Republicans however, have acquired some glaring faults: They claim to be moral and Christian, yet they marry three and four times. They cheat publicly on their wives. They have been caught lying and cheating to win elections. Their children are Lesbians and Homosexuals. They claim to be Free Market Capitalists, yet they operate through crony capitalism (dangerously close to Fascism!) thereby discouraging true capitalism. They scream about liberal bias in media, yet they also run blatantly obvious propaganda mills, full of lies and half-truths. They are not the lesser of two evils, they are one of the two great evils, neither of which is fit to govern.   Answer? I don’t have one. The two parties have seized the government and have too much power to unseat. We are going to have to live with the obvious, rule by the People is a myth.

3. Haven't you seen any movies? Clearly anyone that fought for the Confederate States was just a spawn of Satan.... Pure evil. Surely the hundreds of thousands of dirt poor farmers who died in battle willingly gave their lives so the wealthy could retain their slaves. Just like every last Union Soldier was concerned only with abolition and was willing to die for it. Isn't that what the war was all about?

Took me a minute to realize what the heck that even was, but once it dawned in me it all became clear. Guys she doesn't hate men or ####. This is simply her way of expressing a particular fondness for "PIA". I say whatever floats your boat but don't get all about it.
Not gonna lie. I had to google PIV. I guess she prefers PIA and probably even some ATM. (Dont google those lol) Tapatalk ate my spelling.

5. OK, I went back, I went over that truck for an hour. Yes, I even crawled under it.   I took it for a test drive and then checked under it again after I got it hot (well normal drive temp.)   I signed some papers on it and I need to visit my credit union Monday.   I will post more when I get it home.

6. Of course if you reload, you can load .357 brass light and have lighter recoil, lower cost and avoid any cylinder build up. Having said that, I shoot mostly .38 special since I have more brass than .357 brass.

9. Plain. The only thing Ive found that serrated works better for is if your cutting lots of rope constantly. I can sharpen a plain blade in about 10 min no problems, and they will slice nice and clean through most materials. If its for self defense a sharp plain edge is better as a cleanly sliced artery or vein will stay open and bleed where as a ripped one will close up and clot faster. Tapatalk ate my spelling.

10. One real concern remains the wording "privately owned vehicle"...are leased vehicles covered under the legislation?  What about a rental vehicle while yours is in for repairs?   To me, and I suspect to most thinking human beings, unless a vehicle is stolen it's "YOUR VEHICLE" while you are using it just as your hotel room is YOUR HOME and has the same protection under the law as the house you live in.   Frankly, much of what is wrong with the current legislation and the whole "parking lot issue" would be solved if TN law made it clear that a person's vehicle (owned, financed, leased, rented or borrowed) is a legal extension of your home and deserving of the exact same protections. Therefore, you can have anything in your "home" at any time provided it's something that is "legal" to possess in the first place.

11. Let's face it, there are a lotta folks with inferiority complexes who don't like cops. They don't like that there are people who have authority, so these idiots construct a scenario where they aren't breaking the law yet they know their actions will draw the attention of law enforcement, so this gives them an opportunity to tell an authority figure to pound sand.

12. Yep. You just got the reasons in 2 posts. Cheaper and less recoil. That pretty much covers it.

13. In the video the guys says getting stopped by the cops is "bullsh*t. So is what he's doing in my opinion. If you don't want stopped by LEO and checked out, stop O/C AR 15s (and other guns for that matter). Some day in the not so distant future we're going to lose our rights to O/C any firearm whether they are unloaded or not, no matter what our constitution says. Remember when it comes to "law makers" all it takes is a motion, show of hands and an ink pen and our lives can be changed dramatically. Some gun owners are a bigger threat to our 2A rights than the government is.   Dave

15. That's why we should bring the issue up ourselves. Out of nowhere, bring up a bill to repeal some small part of federal firearms law, just to bring the issue back up and actually take a dang proactive stance on gun rights. Just to stick it in their craw...

17. That’s why cops will always respond to a man with a gun call; it will never stop no matter what the courts do. Idiots like this guy and our local idiot that pulls this kind of stuff will cause open carry to be banned before the cops are forced to wait for someone to lose their life before they act.

19. I do not need another AR. Ha. Just kidding. Of course I need another AR and I couldn't pass up this deal. All purchased from Palmetto State Armory: $49.99 Blemished PSA Lower $69.99 PTac Lower Build Kit w/Blackhawk Stock $279.99 PTac 16 M4 1:9 Complete Upper w/M16 Bolt Carrier Grand Total: $399.97. I will update with Pic's once everything shows up and I put it together. I couldn't be happier with this price given the past year. It will be my 4th AR and certainly the cheapest. I have plenty of mags and will top it with either a carry handle or a red dot from the parts bin. Once I figure in Shipping and FFL Transfer, my total cost is going to be around $460. Not bad for a quality AR. My only real gripe is that the barrel isn't chrome lined. Update 12/16/03: Upper ordered 11/26 finally shipped this morning so it should be here by the end of the week. Already have the lower build kit. Still waiting on the blemished upper ordered 11/29. Update 12/21/13: Upper arrived earlier this week and lower showed up at FFL on Thursday. Went to pick it up and sent of TICS . . . it didn't come back until Friday afternoon. At any rate, I inspected the blemished lower and couldn't find anything wrong with it. Likewise the PTAC upper and bolt both look good; I can't tell a difference between the PTAC and the premium PSA upper I have. Update 01/11/14: Finally got everything put together, but have yet to shoot it. I was unable to find anything I would consider a defect with the lower. The lower build kit went together without any problems. I would consider it on par with any other lower build kit. Trigger is fairly gritty and feels heavy but nothing out of the ordinary for a stock trigger. I am also very satisfied with the PTAC upper. Again, it seems on par with a PSA premium upper. I added a Stag A3 carry handle and a Magpul grip that I had laying around. For under $500 including transfer, tax and shipping, I am very pleased with how this build turned out.

20. We have an active pay it forward thread right now. I am on my phone and can't find it. In all honesty though feel free to post stuff you want to give away in general chat. It must be 100% free though. You cannot accept anything in return or ask for anything. And I ask that we get notified if anyone giving stuff away in general asks for anything. And finally, thank you. I like seeing things like this. It is always a welcome sight.

25. So I took my daughter's friend out hunting for the first time ever today. She was so excited to go and I was glad to take her. She wanted to go with me and my daughter in the morning but had other family plans. We got to the woods about 2 pm and climbed in the stand. About an hour and a half and saw nothing but squirrels. I turned to my left and 25 yards away in some thick brush. I nudged her and got the rifle in her hands and then the w....a....i....t....began. That doe didn't move for probably 6 or 7 minutes which seemed like 45 with me helping her hold the rifle up while whispering "stay still, don't move". My heart was thumping through my coveralls, I was so excited thinking that she could be only moments away from killing her first deer on her first hunting trip! It finally moved....2 steps...lol I was about to die and my arms were starting to shake. Not counting the fact that I was dipping and needed to spit something fierce but knew that was out of the question till this deal was done   So we wait, it moves a few more steps, and this process is repeated for almost a half hour. The wind was swirling but we had scent reducing showered and sprayed, so she smelled something but not enough to have her really freaked out, just cautious. The doe finally walked behind me and I had her stand up and was helping stabilize the rifle above me and knowing the sound was going to be loud when she shot, but worth it! Then the doe turned around and walked right back where she came from in the same method....HOLY HECK! It ended up never giving her a shot, but lemme tell ya, she was sooooooooooooo excited and what a way to start a new hunter, with excitement like that. Later she said "I really hate that I didn't take the shot when she was behind you". But not only did my left ear thank her, but I thanked her and commended her for being patient and not taking a shot that she wasn't sure of. Pretty SMART girl!  All in all, she said she can't wait till next year and wants to start with me during bow season. So now, I'm getting my daughter ready for the hunt in the morning, and a buddy of mine is sitting in his blind with my nephew to give him a chance to hunt for the first time! God, I love this stuff and thankful for your blessings! And I love to be able to share this with my TGO family!!!

29. Are you asking about what you think it could be mixed with or the breed in general?  Looks to me that it could be bread with a lab.  Legs are a lot longer than a typical Australian and the face certainly has lab traits.  Australian Shepards are very smart, always in the top 3 depending who you listen to.   Good family dogs, but they need to be given tasks or they will find something to do themselves.  They are mostly friendly dogs, but I have known some to be very temperamental.   He should be a great dog.

31. That is awesome.    Off topic, but I am always amused by the people that bitch about PSA customer service turnaround times (especially on Slickguns).  Yeah, they are slow...but there is an old saying, "1) Cheap, 2) Good, and 3) Fast.  You can choose any two, but you can't have all three."  If they hired a bunch of people for customer service and fulfillment, they will have to raise prices to pay them.    Cheap and Good = PSA (not too many others I can think of THIS good and THIS cheap) Good and Fast = Daniel Defense, BCM Cheap and Fast = Model 1, Bushmaster, DPMS from Walmart.

32. My 357/38 revolver doesn't care what's going down the pipe. My wallet does. I try to alternate between the two so I don't get a 38 ring in the cylinder. The gun is heavy enough that recoil isn't an issue with either.

34. I picked a 357 pistol over a 38 thinking I will practice using the cheaper 38 ammo.  Most of the time I usually pay a little more and shoot the 357 ammo.
1 point
35. The 38 special is going to be a shorter round than the .357 so you well get some build up at the end of your cylinder. This sometimes makes the .357 rounds a little harder to load. I just make sure I clean the cylinder bores and look to see if there is any build up. I shoot 38 special in my .357 often but it's not as much fun as a full house .357 load.

36. I agree with the Bubba comment they need to be saved.  I would look around on milsurp forums to find rifles in as original condition as possible.  I think matching is key.  Know what you are looking at before you buy it, ask questions, study up.  Remember the worst thing you can do to an old milsurp firearm is to "restore" it.
1 point
37. Paying more and getting like new condition will pay dividends in the long run if you are collecting. If you are buying them to use, only you can decide how poor a condition you can live with.

38. Me I would say as far as the function of parts, get them repaired but I like guns with some character to them.   Now don't get me wrong, if I get one that has been Bubba'd then it needs to be brought back to an original type condition.   But that's just me.

42. Hmmm, assault rifle????? Let me see. The use of assault in this manner is a verb. A verb is an action word. So if I use my Daisy Red Rider in a attack on someone, does that make my bb gun a genuine assault weapon. I guess by definition, yes. So any weapon, knife, fists, tool, rolling pin, etc. that are used in attack on someone is considered an assault weapon. But hey I am using logic and Webster. The media and the left can use and twist what they want to fit their agenda! The word gun used in a sentence is just naked and mundane, but when it is coupled with the word assault or the word deadly it gets attention, but I don't think the gun itself changed one bit. Just drama for the uninformed and dumbed down Americans I suppose.

43. So 4 cops are taken out of rotation, on heightened alert status cause a jack-off wants to walk around with a rifle and handgun for no reason. Guy couldn't wait for his truck, how long does it take to wash a vehicle in Cali? Walking away and yelling to random people like he demonstrated or enlightened them somehow. Those citizens probably called the cops about the idiot. I understand the handgun, but the rifle was for cool factor I guess. Every car wash I been to you are able to keep 100% visual on your ride while it's being washed so the rifle could have been kept in the truck safely. Tired of these guys chasing 15minutes of fame on the net.

44.   Thats good you are giving it some thought.  You should always be intentional with how you plan and where you plan to hunt.  This will lead to seeing more deer.  Now, that being said....if things start not going according to plan, don't worry about it!  Let me tell you a story about a hunt I went on this year...   It was opening day of bow season this year and I am in pursuit of my first bow kill.  I meet my dad at his house and we make our way to our family property and get there super late for a morning hunt around 7:30am!  So "problem" number 1, is that was not there during their peak activity.     So when we get to the property, I am still nursing a knee surgery so there is no way I can walk to my stand.  My dad has bad hips so there is no way he can walk to his stand.  So we decide we will take the 4 wheeler that was out there.  Well we tried to start it up but the battery had died.  No worries, we had another battery with us just in case.  So we swap out the battery and get it started up.  So "problem" number two is now I am even LATER than before!   We hop on the 4 wheeler and I get dropped off right at the base of my stand because of my knee surgery.  So "problem" number 3 is we made all that racket going to my stand scaring everything away in a 300 yard radius.     "Problem" number 4 occured when I went to grab my jacket.  I had placed it in the back bucket of the 4 wheeler...right in the way of the exhaust.  My jacket reeked of gas!!!  You know with Bow Hunting you need to get them in close right?  Well thats awfully hard to do smelling like gas.   So we had a lot of things going wrong before we even got in the deer stand.  Once I got into the deer stand, I really did not have good expectations.  But like I said in my "So you want to hunt" thread, mental toughness will have you ready when the time comes.  Well I wasn't in my stand but 30 minutes before Mrs. Doe walks out and I send an arrow right through her.  So yes you do increase your odds of seeing deer my thinking things through, but you can also be successful even in less than idea circumstances.
