2. Hey FHG!   I'm 10 minutes up the road from ya.. ping me and we'll discuss some options.  I'd like to hear what all you're planning to do with it ultimately in regards to add-ons...    These rifles are not bad for entry level but it's going to be next to impossible to recoupe anything from selling any parts you take off (no one really wants them in the market). So, as others stated, you may be better building you one from the ground up depending on the level of customization you're looking for.    But, as an example, I can/could get you that exact rifle if you still want it INCLUDING TN tax, shipping and the TBI reg fee cheaper than CTD ....assuming they're going to charge ya $15-$20 shipping and then a dealer here will charge $25-$30 to transfer it in.    There's others I'd personally recommend but want to speak with you first to be sure I know where you'd like to be...   Thanks, be more than happy to talk with you if you had a moment and/or if you do find something handle the transfer into TN.

 3. You know, I'm pretty simple when it comes to matters like this thread.  I default back to the old saw that if you can't say something nice, you probably shouldn't start a thread about it on TGO.  Or something like that.  Regardless... Caster... really???   Shameful.   This thread is done.

 4. Fine rifle, crappy seller. Send some bucks to just about anyone in the industry over CTD IMO.

 11. That Public Chapter was shoved down the throat of the People by Big Business and their bought and paid for lackeys. It was in fact a sop to the likes of Fed Ex and Bridgestone. Notice that those who actively seek Constitutional Carry and are not just offering up chin music are working to get that travesty changed.  Anyone with one eye and half the sense of a six month old mule knows that last year's "Parking Lot" bill was not a step forward, but rather a sell out to the Chamber.

 12. But remember, "THIS time it's important. NEXT time you can vote your concience, THIS time there's too much on the line." EVERY election matters and they all have consequences. The "lesser of two evils" plays right into the hands of the sh;tbag politicians who couldn't really care about politics one way or the next. Like many others, my mission for the next cycle is to send as many of their butts packing for home as possible, republican, democrat, whatever. If they've already "served" they're going home. The cycle of crap has to stop somewhere.

 13. Here's an easy way to never be taken by whiz-bang, new-and-improved, tacticool BS.   Go to m4carbine.net.  Hang out a while and read.  Pretty soon you'll find out what "serious operators" use on their "serious operator carbines".     Studiously avoid the brand-new "battle" devices that all the "operators" are attaching to their Colt 6920s.   Save money.

I know from everything that I have read on the Interwebz that every time someone OCs, every bad guy within a 150 mile radius is drawn to that location like moths to a fire and they take his weapon from him and kill him, his family, his friends, his Facebook friends, and everyone that signed his 8th grade yearbook.  :stir:

 19.   +1!   My recommendation is getting on the Palmetto State Armory mailing list and watch for their best daily deal.  You can get complete kits for an awesome deal on quality parts.  Downside is a they are a bit slow BUT that's probly how they keep prices down.

 21.   I'm with you, buddy. Been to NYC, Chicago, and LA. There was nothing there that made me want to return. This summer I'm taking the wife AND our tourist greenbacks to see the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, and Bryce Canyon. She wants to go to NYC some day, so I suggested she get a girl trip going with some of her friends. I won't ever go back as long as nutjobs like Cuomo and de Blasio are running the show up there.

 22. It ain't 'hate'.  It's an informed opinion based on LOTS of reported problems with Taurus quality, durability and lack of customer service.  However, if a Taurus is what peels yer banana, then go for it!  But the no whining rule goes into effect.  :D

 23. LOL, you guys bring me much joy and happiness.  Yes Dave, I think a new thread should be started. :-)    So hunting wise, I am really only working on setting up some turkey blinds in pre-scouted spots.  Last year the turkeys were NOT following their usual spring patterns.  The reason for this was the cool temperatures.  This made it nearly impossible to hunt them the traditional spring way by calling them in.  They were nearly silent! The people who were successful in hunting turkeys had them patterned.  They knew where they would be and at what time and set up in front of them.  Thats what I plan on doing this year especially if they are silent like they were last year.     Deer hunting wise...I still need to clean my rifle!!  I am so bad about that.  As it gets closer to spring, we will be prepping our fields to plant a variety of things.  Soybeans, Cowpeas, Corn and maybe a sunflower field for dove.  So I am pretty excited!  I also want to hang a few new stands in some new locations.     One thing I want to do this off season is to expand my effective range.  I want to set up targets at distances of 150 yards out to 300 yards or so and see if I can make ethical shots.  If I can, great, I just expanded my effective range.  If I cant, then I need to figure out whats wrong, but I will know how far I can shoot before I start making low probability shots.     One thing I have noticed is how the deer all of a sudden start showing back up now that the season is over! haha, sneaky SOB's

 24. I haven't seen a fox while predator hunting since last year in LBL. Coyote and bobcat seem to be a regular sighting while I've been working a distress call the last few weeks, but more coyotes than bobcats for sure. Speaking of coyotes, mating season is just around the corner and they are slowly starting to respond to female calls now. Can't wait till they come running in in groups of 2+ to find the end of an AR or 3 1/2 turkey load headed their way!

 25. Well, hope everyone who doesn't believe in the "lesser of two evils" doesn't mind if the Dems have majority in both chambers, plus the presidency.   Oh, yeah, and SCOTUS being waayyy left for the next 25 years minimum. If you don't think that's makes any "difference", there's no argument that will sway you, I reckon.   - OS

 27. Fascism is alive and well in the world and in the United States.   It is not enough for a fascist to simply disagree; for the fascist, those they disagree with must be silenced...must not be allowed to have their opinion or share their opinion and in the extreme, must not be allowed to exist. History is replete with examples of where the path of "you can't think that" leads and I'm a afraid that this country my be on that very same path.

 28. An issue that we as a group, (or at least most of us) have wanted to see taken on since the bad jog the legislature did when they first put the original bill out.  SB1496 / HB1407 Sen. Stacey Campfield / Rep. Tilman Goins State Summary - As introduced, permits a person with a handgun carry permit to carry a firearm in any state, county or municipal park or other recreation area; deletes provisions allowing local governments to prohibit carrying in parks by resolution or ordinance. - Amends TCA Title 39, Chapter 17, Part 13. On its face appears to be the right stuff.  Do not know Rep. Goins, but from what I have ascertained he has the right stuff too.  An individual I have a lot of respect for says he is a true Patriot.  Hope to meet him in the next few weeks and express my gratitude.

 29. Come and join us for our first match of the year. We have six stages for you, 165 rounds and classifier 13-04.    Don't forget registration at 9 am-10:00am at the hotel lobby. With shooters meeting at the bays shortly there after.   And remember the Hotel restaurant serves a great breakfast and lunch.   See you at the Range,

 31.
Caveats and bias? Any retard can pick up two guns and compare them. Until you've done that, though, you may not be able to give an informed opinion about something. I know exactly what the battlecomp does. I have right at 1000 rounds thru one. It may even be too expensive, but it's not junk. I didn't learn that from some blog boy. I learned it with two virtually identical carbines that I own. That's not bias, it's observation. It's not the only muzzle brake I own either.
I dont think that was directed at you or the compensator. I think it was just a comment that all forums have different biases due to the posters comments about the m4forum being filled with "urban operators". Tgo does have a bias, it is mostly anti-obama and anti - progressive, etc etc. Tapatalk ate my spelling.

 32. If they came out with 9mm, then no one would buy this 380.  So the victims of this great marketing campaign will buy this gun first, and will highly likely buy the 9mm when it comes out too.   However, if they came out with just the 9mm first, then very little marketing opportunity to buy the 380.  Companies are smarter than you think.  At least this is what this East TN hollar boy thinks.

 36. I hate to be brutally honest here, but I'm for the individual and his constitutional rights, not your silly business rules that restrict those rights. What are you so worried about that you don't want individuals with a TN HCP to be able to carry on your property anyway? You're surrounded by us everywhere else you go where carry is not restricted.

 37.   No, you don't.  It's legally a pistol, not a rifle.  However, that also means that you can't put a butt stock on it as you are then turning it into an SBR.  That's when tax stamps and permits and more paperwork come in.

 42.   Now that you say it, it is quite possible that our system combines multiple reports into one.  There are so many systems now that it is becoming more and more complex.  The last US implementation I did was back in 2006, so things could have changed as well.  In the end, I think it's pretty safe to assume they can get the info on if you have an HCP.   I agree with TMF about the firearms purchase records though.  They aren't in NCIC after 24 hours, but I suspect the good old NSA knows what I have bought.

 44.   I get a kick out of these statements.  It's the same as the I'll never go to Illinois statements.  Let's be clear, NY is not simply NYC and Illinois is not simply Chicago.  Get 45 miles outside of either one and you are most likely in a conservative area.  The problem is that the two large cities over represent the larger area of the state.  It's unfortunate, but I know as many rednecks and conservatives from NY and IL as I do TN.  There are some beautiful parts of NY and IL and some other Liberal leaning states.  I don't let their ignorance dictate my desire to go take in the beauty of our country.  You're missing out if you do.   This is also not to say that I agree with their douchebag Governor.  I don't like what he has to say, but I will support his right to say it.

 46. Not sure what Mae Beavers is up to with these bills.   She must have done something that really pissed off Ron Ramsey before last year's General Assembly.  The Lt. Gov took her out of the most important committees just days before they went into session.  With no real power in the state senate anymore, maybe Beavers is just tossing up this red-meat stuff in an attempt to stay in the spotlight.   Meanwhile......, Susan Lynn stays quiet.    Hmmmmmm.
