1911 not included? I don't think so. The 1911 is my first choice and always will be. Everybody already knows why. 2nd choice is a S&W K-frame revolver. Again, everybody should already know why.

A woman awakes during the night to find that her husband was not in their bed. She puts on her robe and goes downstairs to look for him.   mhl spoke a great truth here; along with greg's comment on the 1911 "platform"...   There are some of us "geezers" who remember when the double action revolver and the 1911 wuz king... Like mhl;  im a great fan of the double action smiths in any flavor (...N, K, or J...)... I grew up shootin them and they are my revolver favorites... The fact is that a double action revolver is utterly reliable and if a finished gun man who is handlin it can shoot double action; it's as deadly as a drug store til the first reload (...which ya usually dont need...)... The same is true of the 1911...   The fact is that i like all the legacy gun "platforms" because they all work and work very well...That's how they became so popular...  I've got a 25 year old who is deadly with a 4 inch 629... He wuz taught to shoot double action by his geezer dad (...who can't shoot nearly as good as he can...)... Never feel bad about being "outgunned" by carryin a good double action revolver... If ya know how to shoot; ya ain't... The newer stuff may tote more rounds in the magazine; but that's about all...   All that bein said; we've got a pile of "modern" glocks; and that's what we carry...   The smiths and the colts are locked away in the gun safe... Too valuable to carry...   The polymer stuff is like a hammer or a handsaw; it's simply a tool... The revolver and the 1911 is a work of art... Meant to be appreciated, praised, and shown to friends... The polymer stuff is meant to be shown to your adversaries...   leroy

Hard to beat a Smith & Wesson revolver for power and reliability.   Glock if I want a "platform".

A Smith & Wesson (or Ruger, for that matter) revolver.  Snubbie, 3 inch, 4 inch, doesn't matter.  My reason:  comfort level, reliability, and just sheer beauty.  

It's the state's loss.  I wonder who's brother-in-law got the job?

If it was my only handgun, a .357mag revolver would win. A revolver would also encourage you to make your shots count vs spray and pray.

For a change, I have an interview with Yates Nissan tomorrow. Wish me luck. I had one interview with Viam today, They offered me a job but i think Nissan might be a better company to work for in the end. It's the Decherd plant.   First interview, then hopefully training, then hopefully i'll be working full time. (Just hoping i get hired on).

They cover the whole range AR’s (.22, .223, .308), full size duty weapons, compacts, sub compacts, options the way you like them, best customer support in the business… what’s not to like? Would I give up my J,K or L frame revolvers or my SW1911? Nope, glad I don’t have to pick just one platform or gun.

So I have a job interview tomorrow with TWRA in Nashville, as a forestry program coordinator. I am qualified, it's just a matter of convincing them of that. I'm pretty much reserved to the fact that if it's not in Gods plan then it won't happen anyhow, but it would be nice, for sure. So if your so inclined, I'd appreciate any prayers y'all can muster.

Wait, You posted the stages? I thought the SO's were supposed to get them earlier than everyone else so we had time to set them up and practice more.

H&K USP platform     i have always been a fan of the mag release on these pistols. i have a broken bone in my thumb which unless i shoot a single stack handgun, makes it hard for me to reach the mag release. with the H&K i can train my index finger to drop the mag and it allows me to utilize the double stack platform without adjusting my grip every time i engage the mag release. i also prefer the way the slide is cut, flat top with the sides having a prominent angled drop. The reliability is also a deciding factor with the history H&K has built for itself. the only downfall is the proprietary accessory rail and the price of magazines or any part for that matter.       i started lets hear from someone else

If I know trouble is coming, 1911 all day long.  EDC, Colt Agent snubbie, but I would be just as comfortable with a Ruger LCR or a S&W, 442/642.  I give the little Colt the edge for holding one more round.

Got a email from chase that my bank account was suspended (yes I know) so I clicked their link and proceeded to enter the most bogus info I could and it actually logged me in. I'm going to startfilling out all the emils I get with bull crap info just to screw with the scammers.

I have always likened to the Sig P series, my P220 and my P228, just fit!  My P6 is the best feeling gun I have ever held.  I shoot Glocks, but I am much more accurate with my Sigs.

Drill it smooth and wood glue in a dowel then re-drill. Quick easy and a strong repair.

FYI, depending on how badly the wood is "gouged" you might be able to steam it out with an iron.

I'm not familiar with that rifle so this might be a dumb idea.   Can you drill out the area making a larger hole and then insert/press/glue a "bushing" with the original size hole for the ID?   You could make the "bushing" out of wood, plastic, or metal to suit your need.  

That's almost as bad as telling a 44 year old you're thinking of trading for two 22s.  She wasn't amused.

All this is making me want to look again for a good 38/357 lever gun. I know the Rossi is ok, but just a few little things I don't care for on it. So I guess I'll have to find some money for a better one. Thinking a nice Winchester, or maybe a Henry.

Sorry it didn't work for you, but the right job is out there for you.  I lost out on a job I thought was made for me a few years ago, only to find a better job than I had imagined very shortly afterward.

Since I have a revolver that shoots,357,38spl and 9mm I pick both.

I'll leave it to the legal scholars on here to debate the legality of the transaction, but if you were wary or uncomfortable at all then I would say yes, you made the right call regardless of law. Of course, it could be argued that you were only wary because there are thousands of laws on the books regarding the transactions that have made us, as gun owners, ridiculously paranoid.

Too bad you're not in Memphis. I've almost 300k sqft of air-conditioned empty warehouse with 20+ available dock doors, pallet jacks, and forklifts... And I could cut you a deal for short term storage and access. I'm guessing laundry or dishwashing detergent containing phosphates. ;) that stuff is near worth it's weight in gold now days to people who know what it is and is almost impossible to find. Got my receivers and rail back from Mike at Law Enforcement sales. Looks great. It's a little lighter than magpul but it's close enough. I want to shoot animals in the woods and I doubt they're gonna see the slight difference. All in all it's gonna look sweet. Especially once my stamp comes back for the suppressor. Hopefully I get everything assembled next weekend.

I disagree. I do much better that 6 or 7 loads.

I am amazed at the dedication and time some folks have to keep brass in "batches." In my world, the stuff gets, shot, picked up and tossed in a bucket where it will sit until it's full, at which point it will be sorted. Then, as time permits, it will be polished, deprimed, primed, and eventually loaded. I have no idea how many times a round has been loaded. I guesstimate some are nearing the dozen mark based on how many bullets I've loaded and how much brass I have for a given caliber. If a case is suspect, I toss it. Pretty much all there is to it. I rarely have to chuck brass, but when I do it's usually 357 splitting at the mouth.

I stopped in the Murfreesboro Walmart on Old Fort tonight and stopped by sporting goods to renew my son's fishing license and there sat about 40-50 50 round boxes of Federal .22. Normal price of $2.47.   The surprising thing was that there was only 1 other guy there interested in it. He got his limit of 3, I bought 3 and no one else seemed interested in 50 round boxes, although 1 guy did ask if he had any of the bulk boxes but passed on the 50 rounders. Guess they're harder to turn a profit on.
