We just ate the last quart of last year's tomatoes...new crop is yellow on the way to red. My wife wanted to make sure we have enough this year so we have 24 plants. We may not have to plant next year! Beans, yellow squash and zucchini producing, should have peppers within the week, okra a and corn not too far behind. I love free fresh food!

I've been ordering more and more from Brownells and PSA. Joeboboutfitter is great too. They must have figured out Time travel over there at JBO. I swear its like they receive my order, go back in time to the day before and ship it out before I even know I'm buying anything. All that said I love midway, they have a great selection, good sales from time to time, and I think their house brand AR Stoner parts are great for the money from what I've seen. I wish they would bring back C&R pricing, but I'm glad it won't take me an hour of shuffling items in and out of cart just to make the most sense out of shipping. Although that was kind of fun, cheap thrills and all.

  You are right but I think this guy's perspective also has to be considered.  People probably look at him as a paranoid guy who thinks the government is coming after him - except that it turns out that he wasn't so paranoid and the government really was coming after him.  If a person's greatest fear is of being bitten by a snake then if they open their front door and see a bunch of snakes crawling around on the ground then they probably aren't going to rationally stand there and try to figure out if any of the snakes are venomous - they are going to run.  In that same vein, i wouldn't be surprised if the feds wanted this guy to either start shooting or run so that they could play this non-event of a case for all it is worth and create a reason to arrest him even if they really had no reason to arrest him.

Stopped in my LGS to pickup a grip plug for one of my Glocks and somehow walked out with an S&W 637 Airweight. I'm not much of a revolver guy but I figured it'll be a good pocket gun for the summer. And hell, everybody needs a J frame.

Just a quick shout out to Spiffy for his performance at the Carolina Cup IDPA Championship this past weekend.   The Spiffster finished in 3rd place in his classification - Marksman Enhanced Service Pistol.    Congrats Sir! Good Shooting!

We talked about this one a little bit in the Blade Show discussion. A couple of us who were lucky enough to go to Blade had the opportunity to meet Jeff Axelson, the brother of Matt Axelson from Lone Survivor. Jeff has a company called Axelson Tactical who in conjunction with Busse Combat produced the Axehammer tribute knife. I ordered mine at Blade and had it in hand less than a week later. It is typical Busse quality, that is to say indestructible. The knife is INFI steel and is 12" overall length. It has a sage coating and G-10 scales. The sheath is made by David Brown and has the Axelson Tactical logo on it. I really had no need for another knife in this size range but I thought the story and history behind it were cool enough to pick one up.

Keep the 640. You'll regret selling or trading it. Save up money and buy the 642 (or 442) when you can. Then transition the 640 to an IWB or small of back carry. You can New York reload when the opportunity permits. Speed loaders are interchangeable and most holsters will accommodate the extra barrel length. You can never have enough revolvers, even if they seem like duplicates!    

I carried a model 36 (all steel) in an ankle holster for years; you get use to it. Just make sure its snug against the leg and not flopping around.

I actually just got home from picking it up. After a good month of deliberation I still didn't know. I got the .40 cal. Now why over the 9 mm? I don't know. It felt better in my hand is really all I got. If I don't like it I can swap it to a 9 mm or keep the .40 for the house. As a disclaimer, I probably know less about S&W revolvers than anyone else who's posted here.  That said, I'd try to shoot a 442/642 before I made any moves.  You may not like it and then the point is moot.  I'd think you could find a shop near with a rental or maybe a TGOer near you willing to help out.  (I'm not near you nor do I own a 442/642 or I'd offer.)   That said, I'm thinking you'll run across more 442/642s than you will 640s so if you like the 640 (other than the ankle carry issue) I'd be slow to part with the 640 and look at other funding options first.   My $0.02.

    No, we are just tired of ass clowns who continue to make it difficult (and expensive) for people who want keep shooting.   I have a job unlike most of these jackasses so I can't devote time to sitting around waiting on someone to put ammo out.

  First time I saw that knife (I asked you about it), I figured you made it on your fancy drill press :). Did you do the engraving? 

As a precaution, everybody should mail me any old money they have, so as to avoid this problem.

If you can shoot full power 357 magnum loads in a 640 then you will be able to shoot the 642 without complaints.

Seems like I deal with this kind of thing with my 10 year old daughter all the time.  "Daddy you should have seen the way she looked at me" or "she called me a name". In the semi grown up world it is the guy that flips you off going down the road, I laugh and wave and think is that the best you got. Your middle finger, really.  As others have said we choose what offends us.  If you are offended by the Redskins name then do not support the team or buy the merchandise but just because you are offended does not mean the rest of us are.

So the new homestead is comming along nicely. I was brush hogging by the barn today I came upon what I thought was a piece of an old couch with beer cans thrown around it. So put all the cans in a trash bag and grabbed what I thought was a piece of old furniture turns out it was a old stand up shower base which I was going to drag off until I discovered what I think is a well? It appears to go down about 25 or so feet there is what looks like flat field stone layered for at least 20 feet. There is water visible looks to be clean? Clearly someone took a lot a lot of time and effort to do this there is no cement used just cant figure why it would be where it is and if it would be useable or if there is any way to tell the age of it?

A warrant can suggest a lot of things and this days I don't tend to  put much stock in accusations.   It would seem to me that if they had any significant evidence against him they could have arrested him and then searched to their heart's content; this sounds like a fishing expedition to me based on what I know at this point.

I notice people with the clips often. I use the same IWB holster and when I see one I just assume it's another decent one of us who has made the decision to protect not only themselves but hopefully anyone of us who might need it. Unless the lady was rude or upset when asking you about it, I wouldn't worry about his "eagle eye Barney" self impressment to her, but I think it's an uncalled for a poor show of support for those of us who carry. I mean, why point it out to the lady? Is he 12 and being a tattle tell? Sounds like he suffers from low self esteem. 

So one person is more observant than 99% of the population?  He asked a question, didn't raise an alarm, just asked.  Maybe he wanted to meet a fellow traveler and didn't want to raise your hackles by approaching you directly.  Maybe he wanted to know what make, model and caliber piece you were carrying out of curiosity.     Hey, he works at a gun store.  He notices guns.  I notice carriers more than my wife does.  Doesn't mean I want to "out" them.  But I can talk guns all day with just about anyone.   In my opinion, he noticed you were carrying.  He thought you MAY be security.  He didn't want to bust your cover, so he asked someone he knows who you are.  I don't think it's a big deal.

Big deal.  What if the guy asks the brides mom, and she doesn't know the guest, and neither does the grooms, then you have some uninvited dude at a wedding with a gun.  Everybody preaches self awareness and vigilance.  I believe this situation was a result of those.
