Ginger And::::: I searched for an hour after i got home null.I set up an Optex motion sensor on my deck where the side door is,thinking about what hersh said. I hadn't laid down for 15 mins and the alarm was going crazy I went outside and she came barreling up the stairs, stopped short looked at me and darted into the house. This is Jax and Opie. They were 4 weeks old Friday, qnd are half miniature poodle and half yorkie. They are already showing signs of having moms intelligence, but they both sleep on their back, paws in the air, like their daddy does. So I have known that the design of the 300 Blackout was far from new. It was yet another rework of a previous design. The 300 Blackout is identical, as in the load data and ammunition, to the 300 Whisper or the 300/221. The 300 Whisper was developed by J.D. Jones in the late 80's and early 90's to do the same thing the 300 Blackout is doing today. Even back then users were loading supersonic loads but the majority of users were shooting HEAVY subsonic ammunition. An interesting note is the fact that the majority of 300 Whisper guns used 10 twist barrels and not the 8, 7 or 6.5 twist barrels of the 300 Blackout. And with the 10 twist it worked fine. And the 300 Blackout goes back even farther. Prior to the Whisper you had the 30/357 Paxton which uses a necked down 357 magnum case and is capable of shooting subsonic rounds like the 300 Whisper, 300 blackout or 30/221. Pretty sure the 30/357 Paxton was developed in the 50's. The 30/357 is what people call the 300 Blackout rimmed and although some use trimmed 357 maximum brass to get to the 1.368 case length the case length of the 357 magnum will work just as well. So other than a rim these are identical as far as performance go. And for the longest time I thought this was where the 300 Blackout's lineage stopped, well that ended today. A fellow 300 Blackout shooter had some documents related to the 300 Blackout as pdf's. He uploaded them and as I was reading I found the great grandfather of the 300 Blackout, grandfather to the 300 Whisper and father to both the 30/357 Paxton. And the new relative of the 300 Blackout is the 8x35 Ribeyrolle. It was developed, and rifles chambered for it, in 1917. Ribeyrolle was working with Chauchat and Sutter at the time of its development. It was to be chambered in a full automatic gun designed for trench warfare and was called the "trench broom". And although there were guns produced in the caliber none were ever adopted because is was not accurate at 400 meters. Here is a picture of the 8x35 Ribeyrolle: And anyone who is familiar with the 300 Blackout, 300 Whisper or 30/221 can see the obvious resemblance. I always say there is nothing new as far as cartridges go. Very few cartridges are new and novel anymore. All you need is to go look into the past, copy it and give it a catchy name to make a mint.

So here lately I've been videoing some of my shooting with my phone, and using screen shots to try and catch neat stuff, this is the best I've done. I ALMOST caught the flame! Also caught the slide all the way back Here's another decent one done the same way, caught a piece of brass mid flight All done with my iPhone 5c. I will say, if you've never recorded yourself shooting, it's a learning experience. Even though I hate being in front of a camera, it's really helped me correct small things that I normally can't see because 75% of the time I shoot alone

It 1/8" thick 1095 carbon steel. The blade is about 3 3/4" long with an over all length of about 8 1/2". It has walnut dymondwood scales and three SS lanyard sleeves for pins so you could lash it to a pole with some 550 cord or whatever you have available. Dymondwood is thin layers of natural American hardwoods. Resins and dyes are imbedded under extreme heat/pressure to form a perfect long lasting handle material. The blade was double etched save the edge. First the "lines" were covered with tape and then etched to make them a bit "proud" of the surface. Then the tape was removed and the blade was etched again then immediately stone washed to get the finish you see. It has jimping on the spine forward of the handle and is a clip point design blade. It seems like it has taken forever to get to this part. I finally began painting it today even though the rail won't be here until tomorrow. Once the rail gets here it will get a good base coat and then then everything will be mocked up for the next couple of coats of paint. This is my first time to paint one. I've been a bit apprehensive about painting it but it was time to take the plunge. I will be working out of town most of the week so it will probably be next weekend before the next coats go on with an eye on completing the build the following weekend. some control and other small pieces the only really exciting part so far is realizing well after the first round of paint that I had grabbed the wrong scope to paint. That is ok because in the end the rifle that this scope is going on will be painted a camo scheme as well. Mark

No real pattern. I am not detail oriented enough for that. More a series of complimentary colors to help just break up the definition of the rifle

Sorry to hear you're having this trouble. My wife's LCP has never had this problem so I'd give Ruger a chance to make it right.

We got a place with 5 acres last November. I got a new 2013 Kubota L32000 HST 4wd with the FEL. I previously had an older Kubota B6000. The L3200 has been awesome. It is a little light weight wise but in moving trees, dirt, rock I have yet come up short on power. With that said I would go with a L3800 if it's priced right. Trouble you may have now is all the 2014 tractors have to have the new EPA emissions crap in it. The non emission 2013 may be hard to find or marked up. I heard the 2014s have had some problems. If you go Kubota and don't mind the drive to Huntsville AL check out Huntsville Tractor. Sales tax in AL is only 2.5% vs 9% here in TN. I just got finished clearing a spot and building a berm for my pistol range. This fall when the leaves drop I'll be taking some trees down to get a100yd rifle range. Freakin awesome!

Probably not the kind of response you were looking for, but I'd list it just because it takes 5-10 minutes, won't cost ya anything, and there are lot of people who only go to the classifieds here and not the other boards. What do you have to lose? :shrug:

It will be interesting to see the format. I emailed for info and got a response but it was kind of generic. Not sure how up to speed they are on actual three gun as far as commonly established scoring and divisions. Should be fun regardless.

Maybe she didn't like who you put her in care of while gone and was just hiding and waiting for you to come back home before showing herself. I have heard of that happening before with other dogs. Dryer ducts that run through floors or in crawl spaces should be rigid metal pipe for exactly the above reason. The metal flex hose stuff is ok for very short runs where normal joints won't work and the nylon flex stuff should be avoided completely.

I'm really, really glad for the happy ending here! My hound was a rescue and I'm sure he was someone's beloved pet before he came into my life as he is well trained, fixed, etc.  The rescue organization and I assumed he got away from his owners following some interesting scent (as bassets are want to do) and may have traveled so far that he didn't know how to get back home.  In any case, he is now part of my family.   He was not microchipped and if he had been he would likely have had a very different outcome (as would I)...I had him chipped within his first week in my care as was my other hound. Microchipping is not expensive; around $75 which I consider to be among my least expensive and potentially most rewarding investment.

Glad to hear you found her. I worry anytime I can't see either of my babies. We are empty nesters so we dote on our dogs.   When Lilly was young we had someone try to dognap her. I called her back before she got to their truck. Had they left with her they would have had a very, very bad day because they were going up a dead end road when they tried. Not sure anyone could dognap Gus or would want to because is a bit intimidating now.

We lost ours Easter Sunday when one of our guests left the back door open when he went out to smoke. Talk about P.O.! within an hour somebody had posted an ad on craigslist that they had found him. Yeah, dogs do know where they live and will eventually make it home unless some human snatches them up. If there is anything I can do on my end let me know. Rant on!!!   I'm a 2%'r.   98% of my wages go to taxes.     The problem is the Gov't wants the taxes so they can spend, spend, spend but are rapidly running out of people who can pay taxes.   People used to go to school and either graduate from 12 grade or go on to college and graduate. Those that graduated from High School tended to work more blue collar hands on, OJT jobs which were somewhat protected from Company abuse by Unions.    The people in Unions became sort of a mini Gov't wanting more and more. At some point they voted themselves out of business by asking for  more than the Company could afford to pay so they went overseas for the same products built more cheaply.    Remember any major Corp has one God. The Stock Holder. To maintain good standing with the ones holding the shares the Corp has to continue to promise more dividends to keep the share holders. At some point there is nothing more in the assembly line that the Corp can cut but if they can double up workloads for employees.  Less employees means more money to promise to share holders. This placates the share holder for a year or two then the Corp has figure out what to  do next since the income remains the same. Benefits go next. Then some operations go offshore like IT to India. A quarter the price for something that can be done over the  internet. They get a few more years for the share holders. At some point it's all over and the owners close up shop.    Ref. the college grads...they get higher paying jobs usually get scooped up by the major corporations. Their thinking is those grads took the extra time and effort to  stay in school and continue learning skills they will need in the work place. Those folks are generally salaried iso hourly. They offer benefits in lieu of Unions. Those  benefits are somewhat the same as Union work without the dues.  Pension, Health Care, Vacation, Holidays, Annual Bonus pay, etc. All of these benefits come out of the Company's bottom line.   A quick look back around 40 years or so. A college education averaged 10-15K a year, living on campus. Less if you stayed home. Community colleges were a lot less.  The high end colleges cost quite a bit more. Some folks were never meant to go to college but were able to make a fair living and provide for their family and retirement  if they worked hard, union or not.  Prices have gone up...ALOT! Lots of reasons...greed. And college professors are the people cause the problem. It is all economics now. And with Tenure you can't get rid of the bad apples. And those are the same bad apples that are preaching politics to your kids. I'd say 905 of the college teachers are beelding heart liberals because it keeps them in their jobs.   Enter the liberal Gov't.  Healthcare - offered to anyone. No more benefits for working for a Company. You pay. Pensions - no longer offered. Garbage 401K's and portable pension funds are the new pension. It raises the question who manages your 401K? At what price? If you do, where do you get the time to learn what funds to chose and then have the time to manage it? This benefit costs the Corp but cuts into your money saved. Hmmmmm... Minimum Wage - This was originally meant to give school kids a means of learning about working. They're trying to get $10 an hour and really want to push for $15. CA min wages are $9. Food Stamps - A friends sister in TX got a job at WalMart and they gave her the food stamp paperwork to fill out. All of the stores are doing it. Immigration Reform - Votes for Democrats from illegal aliens. Need I say more. Savings Interest?  Pretty much gone right? The Gov't bailed out the Banks so they don't need your money. Welfare Queens - The more un-fathered kids you have the more money you make off taxpayers without having to work for a living. Assisted living - CA gives you money to help pay for your housing.  Gas coupons - they're coming. Old age and Retirement - City Gov't pensions although small included health for spouses. Now is the pension holder dies the spouse has nothing (Obamacare) she can afford. Gas Prices - unregulated by the Gov't as long as they get their cut. A bird farts in Aruba and gas prices go up.  Ilegal kids crossing the border - Turn them back around.  Illegal aliens living in America are protesting in the streets? Round them up and send they back. Mil Vets - Our Gov't ensures the rest of the world is cared for before they worry about our vets. Why else are there org's to help our vets? Inflation -  Dbl Digit is here now. Don;t let anyone fool you. College? - If an lazy bum can make the equivalent of 50K per yearwhy would some want to pay $200-300K to go to college to compete for McDonalds jobs? Therre is no incentive to work any more. I am a middle class worker. I am a Baby Boomer. When I retire I will probably be the last of the pensioners left in America.  Future welfare queens - Don;t forget the young school girls in CT and TN who made a pact to have babies....Amazing.   Until the people in Washington are voted out of office what you are seeing now will continue.   Whats even more pitiful is what happens when the money runs out? If people make $10 an hour, get a cost of living allowance, food stamps and gas coupons they will be effectively  making around 50K per year but will have no money. No retirement, horrible health care, businesses closing at a high rate. Businesses being bought up by other Countries. Believe me  when I say most of the meats will be coming from China very soon as are most products.   You will end up at the mercy of the Gov't. History shows that Gov'ts have no mercy except to themselves. What happens when they can no longer collect taxes because there isn't any money to collect.   The list goes on. Our Gov't uses typical lawyer court room arguments.  "if it sounds right then it must be so".   However, if it smells like poop then it probably is.    God is gone form America. Sodom and Gomorrah is here, now and the American People is allowing it to happen.  Look at Mississippi. The Democrats crossed  line to vote for the standing Republican Senator because he is useless rather than have a real Republican get in office and do something for America. And many  Republican's allowed it to happen. How messed up is that?    I'm going to enjoy my retirement but I really feel bad for the folks with nothing to look forward to. You can call them the X,Y or Z generation or whatever but they're  all screwed until they wake up vote out these very, very bad politicians currently in Office. All of them need to go.Our Gov't needs a house cleaning. Get the word out  and lets vote em out of Office.   Rant off.

I gave up on shoots years ago.  Pretty much because I saw an amount of unsafe gun handling around me that I was not comfortable with.  If there was a TGO shoot I'd be all over it as I think TGOers are better gun handlers than the general public.  Since I quit going on shoots I've had some success hunting alone and using decoys.
