Santa gave me the OK to do this... I've got a new unused set of black VZ Grips in the safe from the last time I thought I was going to buy another 1911, a Raven Concealment Phantom holster coming, and an Ed Brown snake-skin texture magwell / mainspring housing coming for it.10 points

Santa made it a very SUPER Merry Christmas for me! :woohoo:7 points

Actually we got the best Christmas present we could ever ask for. Her name is Madalynn and she was here a little early for Christmas but a Christmas baby none the less. We could not be happier to have a grand daughter to spoil. Definitely changes the way you view life. My only Christmas wish is for our son to come home and met her next month. He has been deployed since July, and missed the birth, but he should be home within a month.7 points

While I am not religious, I can be courteous and return the Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, or whatever greeting I am presented with. The way I figure, I am wishing them a happy celebration, no matter what they are celebrating much like happy birthday. I also don't have any issues allowing, not forcing, moments of silence during events and even at school. Silence can be used for whatever the person wants, prayers, building a grocery list, or just thinking of the day ahead. That being said, Merry Christmas for those celebrating it and a Happy New Year for all...unless you dont believe in happiness.4 points

No firearms this year, however I'm pretty stoked about getting this-- it was a totally unexpected gift from my father-in-law... heckuva guy... I married well! and yes, although they look like "stock photos" these are pictures of the actual instrument, courtesy of Sweetwater Sound.4 points

I honestly feel that every life matters with few exceptions. My question is if they really believed this, why have they not been marching and doing major protests in the City of Chicago were blacks are killing other blacks by the hundreds every year for as far back as I can remember? Do Black lives only count when a white man takes one in the line of duty as an officer of the law? .........................jmho3 points

I don't think American Airlines had to respond after what they did. It was evident the man disapproved of the airlines policy so he should have gotten off the airplane and found another company to do business with. Evidently that was how all the other passengers felt also with their applauds when he departed the plane.................jmho "Merry Christmas one and ALL"3 points

Yes, those sorts of things do happen, but the point is they happen very rarely. They don't happen anywhere near enough to justify the "I'm in a war zone" mentality that leads to far more deaths of citizens than cops. Sorry about your friend, but I would be questioning the policies that created the situation that got him killed. The point I was making that you seemed to miss is that I don't think my job is especially dangerous. (In fact, I think there is more danger to the folks in 4 wheelers around me than to me personally.) Yet according to the data, my job is twice as likely to result in a work related fatality. Combined with the fact that the majority officer deaths on the job are due to traffic accidents and not homicide and the reality of the situation is pretty clear. Policing in this country is not an especially dangerous job. Does it have dangers? Yeah. Plenty, but not more than many other jobs that folks don't consider to be especially dangerous in nature. One can pull anecdotes and emotional arguments out of their ass all day long but the data doesn't lie.3 points

Come on, just get the RIA Tactical and you can afford to buy a lot of ammo. I have a SA Loaded that Rowdy wants me to get "running'. This isn't the first "high dollar" 1911 that I have had that runs like crap. I have owned 3 RIAs in 3 different calibers and they all ran....out of the box. If you need to you can always buy Wilson Combat internal parts and they will be 98% drop in, 100% in most cases, if you think you need "USA" internals. Rock Island, made by Armscor, are probably as well cast as anything that anyone in the world can turn out but want to bash because RIA delivers at an attractive price point for the common man.3 points

I just love that Santa Clause! If you look very close, you'll see an eventual 25 straight on it somewhere. With stocking stuffers of a new Eddie Buar trap jacket and two flats of shells I'm ready for the New Year. PULL - BANG, PULL - BANG, BANG - PULL :up:3 points

Lots of great presents in this thread. Santa is indeed wonderfully pro-gun and generous. :-) I acquired some new firearms earlier in the year, so I'm taking it easy on Santa this year. I'm only asking for 2 gifts from the fat man, both being delivered this week... Qty = 6 brand new Glock 21 Gen 4 pistols (.45 ACP) with night sights, extra mags, and a laser-etched gold state police badge on the slide. Obtained directly from the agency with a few extras. It's good to have connections. :D And a mint condition original factory Williams High Speed pinball machine, my favorite from the golden age of pinball. http://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=1176 I'm super stoked with the gifts above, but they pale in comparison to the best gifts of all: I thank God that I was born healthy in a free pro-gun country to a loving family and raised in a Christian faith, so I learned just how lucky and blessed that I am in comparison to so many others that are ill, oppressed, defenseless, alone, without religion, or otherwise suffering in the world. The fact that God has allowed me to receive so many other gifts in addition to these core blessings is almost inexplicable, thus I plan to use every single item and resource at my disposal to share and help others as much as possible, and I view every single day as yet another gift and a new chance to make a difference with someone in some way.3 points

My wife's grandmother passed peacefully in her sleep early this morning. At the age of 102, it really wasn't a surprise, but she was a big part of our lives. She lived on a farm all her life, and worked her butt off every day she was able. If you were welcome, there was always a cooked meal on the table. If you weren't; she had a shotgun for that. She was at church every Sunday morning. She raised kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, a garden, cows, tobacco, and chickens. She could mend blue jeans, or a broken heart. There are no more like her, and she was the kind of person I aspire to be. We could use your thoughts and prayers this holiday season. Thanks for listening. Greg2 points
