Well, Santa didn't bring it, but I gave this to myself. No, didn't hit the lottery, but some stocks I have been sitting on for the better part of 10 years at a loss just recently went up and above what I paid. I got enough to pay off my mortgage. Some people tell me that is a mistake, but I see not having a mortgage payment and the ability to start investing in my future more now.10 points

Maybe it's an age thing, maybe I'm just an old fuddy-duddy. But I agree with that manager. First, as an employee, you have certain rules of the workplace to obey. You accept a job, you accept those rules. Secondly, the mutilation of the English language going on today is an atrocity. Speaking clearly, enunciating the full word, and letting ghetto and trash-speak take the place of common language is terrible. Yes, I'm showing my age. But that's my opinion, and I realize it's not going to change things.7 points

I know exactly were your coming about dolo. I am legally handicapped and they offered me a placard and I requested a permanent license for my Jeep Cherokee and handed the the doctors letter and got my license plate. With that said I have the same issue as you do when it comes to parking at Krogers 99 times out of 100, all the HC spaces are full. One day when my legs were no bothering me to much I actually walked through every space and looked to see if the vehicle had an HC plaque or an HC license plate on the vehicle of the 30 HC places Kroger has to vehicles has plates and all the rest had plaques hanging from mirror or just laying on the dash. I have several friends that have the plaques because they will carry their elderly parent or handicap member of family with them. I found one parked in a handicap space and watched as she approached her vehicle and she was by herself. The handicap person in her family was not with her. I asked her why she parked in that space when her mother was not with her? She began babbling some excuses and got in her car and left. Her husband called me that evening about my concern and I told him. Needless to say it was not a close friendship and it is no friendship now. It ended with him telling me to mind my own business. I thought I was considering I am legally handicapped and his wife is not. I waited till I got my chance and I saw him park in a handicapped space in his truck and put a plaque on his mirror and made my move. I called Gallatin P.D. and they sent out a motorcycle officer to see me. I told him why I called him and he said I understand your concern and we will see if he is legal. About 15 minutes later I was out of sight when he came out. The officer approached him and ask him for his ID DL. He then ask him if he was handicapped and he said no, but his mother in law is. The officer ask him if she was still in the store and he said no, she was not with him. The fine signs in Kroger Parking lots are $250.00. I sat and watched him sign his big fat ticket. I know he was looking to see if I was watching. I was not in my Jeep but I was there. I then went in along with the officer to speak with the kroger Manager as the officer told the manager that they had been receiving a few complaints so for the next few days he would be patrolling their lot and probably writing some tickets and the Manager thanked him because he knew there was issues and he wanted to do something about it. The use of the plaques by relatives that are not handicapped with out that person in the vehicle is an automatic ticket if caught. I got a chance to speak with that officer about a month later and he said he wrote 67 tickets in 5 days for the same violations and was making plans for another 5 days soon. I am not having as much trouble locating a handicap parking place there any more. Yea, I'm the guy your friends warned you about............................... :rofl:4 points

Very nice down payment for a new vehicle (new Subaru Outback for the wife), Yamaha Rhino ( used, but ready to tear stuff up), TLR-1 Game Spotter and MOE stock for the AR, bunch of ammo, two way radios, waterproof camo pants and parka, a sweet handmade stained class Tennessee light and Tennessee logo made out of a pallet. The best thing I got though was spending Christmas with my wife and our son on his first Christmas. He had no idea what was going on, but I just loved the feeling.4 points

question: WHY do people KEEP sending letters to the BATF on this... seriously!!!!!!! they ruled it fine, and now we have several more attempts to clarify what was a perfectly clear letter to basically everyone, except for three or so meatheads which have so far only resulted in further confusing and narrowing the scope of the intent of the BATF original statement... keep poking the bear and it will wake up! Probably too late, but LEAVE IT THE FU*K ALONE3 points

There's not really anything you could have done that would be dangerous. Go shoot it. Some guns, particularly new ones that need a little break in, don't like to manually cycle rounds. Lube it up and go see if you you have live-fire problems before you start troubleshooting.3 points

Respect is lost on people. I'm not saying that myself being the sweet innocent Choir boy I am would do anything, but I know a.... friend who has a habit of removing valve cores from tires on vehicles without a tag or placard in HC spots. No permanent damage, but I bet its a lot more time consuming trying to figure out how to refill that flat tire than that 50' walk you saved yourself by thinking you were entitled and parking there.3 points

I have the same pet peeve. I confronted a guy one day about it and he cussed me out as well. we both went in the store and went about our day. When I came out the cops were all around his car. I thought that they nailed that guy for parking in the handicap spot then I saw him in cuffs and he was screaming to the cops that I did it. I was not sure what was going on and one of the officers called me over. I went over and found out someone had keyed his car, I laughed and told them no but he deserved it. I asked why he was cuffed, apparently he called saying he was being attacked and when the police got there he got loud and ended up hitting an officer. When I left he had been charged with assaulting an officer, false reporting of a crime, no license, no insurance, expired tags, and got a max fine for parking in a handicap spot. I left that parking lot with a smile on my face.3 points

Yeah, saw this coming. The poor man's SBR has an expatriation date it seems. I feel for you guys that might be caught up in this, but when you leave yourself at the mercies of an agency like BAFTE, these are the results you get. I bet even Sig knew what their product would be used for when they put it out on the market. I've yet to see or read about one person who bought and shoots the brace as it is marketed by strapping it to the arm and securing it like it's some kind of cyborg enhancement. The day the NRA starts a no-joke legislative initiative to repeal the NFA laws, they will have my attention and I'll open my checkbook. Until then, they can take their "sky is falling, send money now to prevent Obama & Pelosi from taking your guns" talk and take a piss. There's a Republican Congress and a President who want's to have a functioning government until he leaves office. The time is perfect for some deal making and riders to be on the day to day functioning of government and appropriations bills. I think the President would cave on an issue like this as he did with the Wall Street stuff during the budget negotiations.3 points

I didn't really receive anything this year outside of a bunch of joy from giving to others. Although, my GF's kids did get me this nifty Captain America towelette. While a new AR-10 would have been great, this was close enough. :)3 points

Let me start by saying I do not believe I am entitled to anything. I also recognize the fact there are some people way worse, as far as disabilities go, than me. So what upsets me is those people who think that space with the blue and white wheelchair sign means it is for THEIR quick trip into the store. Now unless I am having a really bad day I have my wife park in a regular spot so those worse than me can use the handicapped spot. But when I am having a bad day, when every step I can avoid matters, I need to park close or just stay in the truck if can't. And honestly I would gladly walk the extra distance if I could without having issues. At one point I would ask and EVERY time I have asked if they have a placard, as I stand there with my crutches, they act like I am the jerk and even cuss me out. Because of that I have quit even asking because the entitlement crowd apparently thinks they are entitled to the space I need from time to time. I wish there was something I could do to the jerks. I was told if I parked behind them and block them in I could get in trouble. Not to mention the person would probably loose their mind. I just wish people would understand that to some of us that extra 50' makes a difference, especially those with breathing problems. Fortunately I do not have breathing problems but some do and have to stop constantly to catch their breath. Thanks for letting me vent.2 points

Hey guys! I would like to share with you a night of laughs I'll never forget. A few years back the wife and I went to the Comedy Barn in Piegon Forge. If you ever been there you know the skit they do with Eric Lambert and three guests from the audience on stage. Well being a local here I've seen that skit at least a dozen times over the years. But this night was one I'll never forget. When i'm down and out I play this and cry laughing. Last time I looked they had over 20 million hits on U-tube....Enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Z4Y4keqTV6w I just had to add this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=p32OC97aNqc2 points

I'm relatively healthy; my wife is handicapped, She has a placard, and uses it when necessary. If I'm driving, most of the time I drop her at the door and park in a regular space. I've never used it for my convenience, as many others do.2 points

I have several friends that need those spaces. So it hits home, for me. I don't get into a big argument with the person that abuses the space. I just make the comment to them that " I see that your don't have a physical handicap, so it must be mental ". I get my point across.2 points

Not a bad plan. You can never have too many guns. If you are looking at budget shotguns for 3 gun take a good look at the stoeger m3000. Good gun at a good price. There is a long thread about them over on enos forum. Definitely worth a look.2 points

If I only bought things because they were useful, I'd have precious little in my home, lol! Looks fun! I just wish I could get those BX25s for my 1022s to feed properly. Jam-o-matics. The crummy butler creeks run much better for me through 2 different guns. The nose of the rounds seem to hang up on the front of the mag, before they get a chance to get to the feed ramp. :/ Federal, Remmy, Winnie, plated or lead, round or HP, makes no difference. :l2 points

A life is a life. Whether taken by a LEO doing his job or one criminal killing another or and innocent person. I do agree that for many years the Black race was discriminated against. I will also add that Martin Luther King succeeded in bringing that point up better than any other and he was successful in getting the policies put in play to stop the unfairness towards Blacks. After being able to get those great things done for his people in turn a very limited amount of them took advantage of their new found freedoms. If anything they felt they were entitled to even more freebees by the Government. I would like to meet one Black person that has ever been a true Slave. The only thing young Blacks base their actions on are what they are told by men and women that also were never Slaves. I have Black friends that work hard everyday and ask for nothing for free. They never join in protests but they do have many negative views about those that do and as one said the other day as we were talking. He said, "All they are doing is hurting people like me and my family with their actions." I felt bad for him because he is a good friend. I also have little to no respect for the white people that are also see in these protests. They are only helping to throw fuel on an already bad situation but I also know this is America and they do have that right! .................................jmho2 points

Actually we got the best Christmas present we could ever ask for. Her name is Madalynn and she was here a little early for Christmas but a Christmas baby none the less. We could not be happier to have a grand daughter to spoil. Definitely changes the way you view life. My only Christmas wish is for our son to come home and met her next month. He has been deployed since July, and missed the birth, but he should be home within a month.2 points

A word of caution though. Just because someone doesn't look like they are not handicapped does not mean they are not. There are people who have breathing disorders who appear as normal as anyone until they have an attack. And honestly if I am having a good day I might walk in the gas station without my crutches because I hate them. Without my crutches I look just fine, other than I walk like a pimp, but what they do not see is on my bad days I spend 22+ hours curled up in bed. And it literally can come on from a bump in the road, stepping wrong or picking up something I didn't think would hurt and then I am absolutely miserable. For me every day, and night, is a struggle and without my wife I am not sure what I would do. She does so much for me on a day to day basis that without her the life I live now would be impossible. Again, I would caution against automatically assuming someone is not disabled.1 point

One of the local TV news in Nashville did a story a few years back about all the State employees that had HC placards so they could park for free on the meters in town. I remember one lady got out of her car and when the news crew confronted her about it, she ran in high heels all the way into her building to get away from them.1 point

You must go through an FFL. The confusion with long guns is that you may purchase a long gun from an FFL in another state. Although many FFL's won't do it.1 point

That's exactly how I read it, as well. Though I enjoy a good debate (on merits) you guys are exactly right, the personal attacks and seething contempt for everyone disagreeing with him far outweighed any good points he may have been making. :-( And just for fun, I'll try to run a few hundred more rounds through my M&Ps this weekend.1 point

Believe me NE, the last thing the black communities want to hear is statistics showing how many blacks kill other blacks. When the proof is in the pudding and statistics are published it only proves that many black people are the more racist because they will kill their own and very little to nothing is addressed to fix it but let one white man or officer shoot a black person and all HELL breaks loose!!! So in all reality who is the most racist? How many times have you see Al the REV Sharpton or the REV Jesse Jackson or many other so called black leaders protesting a Black on Black Killing? Like I said before. THE PROOF IS IN THE PUDDING and the pudding is the black community leaders. Lets take a look at Chicago just a second since Chicago has the largest Black on Black murders of any big city. Our President was a Community Organizer in Chicago and went from there to the U.S. Senate and from there to the White House in 2.7 years. If he is trying to organize our great nation in the same way he did in Chicago it is no wonder our country is in shambles. One long look at Chicago and it is evident he failed both the communities of Chicago and his rating in the White House are not any better........................jmvho!!!1 point

Love my Rock Island. Shoot pretty much nothing but cheap 230 grain fmj and no problems whatsoever. It's pretty dang accurate. Overall, one of the biggest bang for the buck gun purchases I've made. The only thing I'd change is the sights. They aren't bad, just all black. Low light shooting is interesting. Also, I'm thinking about getting a new safety switch on it as the one from the factory isn't rounded off like is like it. It's not pretty but does exactly what it needs to do.1 point

I do not condone anyone using violence to get an order corrected but with that being said I cannot stand it when I get home and realize the order is not right. Happens all the time though and about he only thing you can do is complain but most times you get the "yeah right" attitude from the manager when you say you are missing something. There is no way fast food workers should get paid as skilled labor when they cannot prove they have the skill to fill a basic order. I will say I LOVE Noodles and Company for their policy on messed up orders. If you have a messed up order they make it right AND give you a coupon for a free bowl of food next time. That would be a great policy for any of the fast food restaurants, get a messed up order and the next time you can get a meal of your choice.1 point

Alright I finally got something more to add. Now its nothin special, except fer the fact that I took 'em with my new to me 44 Mag. Vaquero. He came out of the woods about 50 to 60 yds. to my east, then turned and came right by me at about 20 yds. Well the 240gr. lfp & 10.5 grs. of unique knocked him right down.I think this is the same little fella that I gave a pass to last Sun. while I was huntin with my 35 Rem.1 point
