Nothing like a Ford Truck New Truck built by a company we didn't bail out... I bought a new Ford F250 Tri-Flex Fuel Truck. Go figure-- it runs on either hydrogen, gasoline, or E85. I returned it to the dealer yesterday because I couldn't get the radio to work. The service technician explained that the radio was voice activated. "Nelson", the technician said to the radio. The radio replied, "Ricky or Willie?" "Willie!" he continued and "On The Road Again" came from the speakers. Then he said, "Ray Charles!", and In an instant " Georgia On My Mind" replaced Willie Nelson. I drove away happy, and for the next few days, every time I'd say, "Beethoven", I'd get beautiful classical music, and if I said, "Beatles", I'd get one of their awesome songs. Yesterday, some guy ran a red light and nearly creamed my new Ford truck, but I swerved In time to avoid him. I yelled, "Ass Hole!" Immediately the radio responded with, "Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the United States ." Damn I love this Ford truck....13 points

And that is exactly what the Democrats count on. Democrats vote Democrat no matter what, it's us on the right that divide our votes because the Republican doesn't meet all our preconceived ideas of what a Republican should be. Don't get me wrong, I am not a Donald supporter, and I will not be voting for him in the Primary. But when it comes to the choice of Hillary or whomever the Republicans put up...I will go Republican. I will not let others decide who represent us in the White House, I don't care if the Republican doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell in TN, I will still give my vote to them.4 points

I think this is overkill and would ruin one of the things people like the most about dealing with fellow TGO members. Why penalize everyone on the off-chance it obscures the fact that someone *might* really be selling so many guns that they should have an FFL? The most I'd consider doing -- if it came to that -- would be removing the description from the feedback entries so that it's just positive or negative.3 points

For what my opinion is worth, I have no problems buying Mec-gar mags. They are the actual manufacturer for many companies. I've used them in my Sigs, Smiths, Taurus,, BHPs, and CZ pistols without issues. I cannot say the same of Promag though. I prefer not to use them.2 points

271 oz. I hope that's a typo and they left out a decimal point. I don't think a 17 lb. pistol is going to sell well.2 points

Here's the simple take on the whole selling guns as a business thing: It was this way before Obama opened his mouth on Monday, and was just as vague then as it is now in respect to how many guns sold makes you a business. Nothing is any different. I haven't read all of the stuff that Fox News has apparently provided, but I consider them as reliable a source of information about gun laws as I do them a reliable source of unbiased news. I'd take whatever they produce with a grain of salt and go hunt down information from the source. The BATFE link is a good place to begin. Beyond that I'm looking for guidance from the NRA, GOA and other Second Amendment powerhouses.2 points

That's right, a Kentucky native has bought a house in Tennessee. I found out I had to change my blood type to UT orange before I could sign the papers on the house, but I've still got a couple UK t-shirts that haven't been confiscated. :ugh: I am relatively new to CC and recently got my Tennessee CCP. I have only lurked on here for a couple of hours and already have a sense of a great community and knowledge. I hope I can contribute something someday, I am the least of these and I am picking the meat and spitting out the bones. Don't know a lot about guns, don't know a lot about tactics, and don't know much about ammunition so please take it easy on me if my questions seem elementary. I have served in the Military, was praised by drill sergeants for my marksmanship, but many years have gone by since then. I don't like KNOW IT ALLS, And keyboard jockeys that read something on forum A and are a expert with experience on forum B. I am not one of those! I will share my experiences but won't claim to be a expert unless I want you hurt then I will be glad to give you expert advice :hat: Thanks for a great forum in a great State, in a Great Country. Look forward to our friendship and like I said, hopefully I can contribute something positive here, until then I will be lurking and learning. Tony OH and BULLET280 was my bass boat so I kept the screen name, don't read into it :panic: lol1 point

The fair board did that. The mayor has no official vote on that board. That is to say that officially, no, the mayor did not do that. It's speculation to think she had a hand in it. Reasonable speculation, but still just speculation.1 point

This is Millie helping me vanquish an evil, threatening ham bone to ensure that no scraps escaped to do vile deeds: She wasn't growling, just trying to get her teeth latched onto the bone. She has never growled at me over food. In fact, despite her having really sharp teeth and jaw strength that can break/crush major bones in a living possum if it is unfortunate enough to cross her path (guess how I know) if she is chewing on something and I am not sure she should have it I can literally put my fingers in her mouth and take it away from her with no fear of being bitten. Now, she might look at me like, "Hey! What did you do that for?" but she won't show any signs of aggression. I don't have a picture of my favorite time she 'helped' me do something. See, my mom is my next door neighbor and will sometimes toss a couple of biscuits left over from breakfast, etc. across the fence to Millie. Millie enjoys these little treats. Well, one morning I had let Millie out to play in the yard by herself before I went outside and mom had tossed her a couple of biscuits. When I went outside the first thing I needed to do was take some feed to my chickens so I told her, "Millie, we've got to feed the chickens. Are you gonna help me feed the chickens?" I said that just because I talk to her a lot, not thinking she actually understands. Now, my chicken enclosure has a coop to get inside but there is a small, attached, fenced in area where they can roam around outside. As I walked toward the coop to feed my chickens I noticed Millie pick up one of her biscuits in her mouth and start walking in that direction, too. I figured she was just following me and taking a 'snack', just in case. However, when we got close to the coop instead of following me to the coop, itself, she walked over to the fenced in area, pushed that biscuit hard against the fence then turned it loose and walked away, leaving the biscuit. Yep, she really did help me feed the chickens!1 point

The last 3rd gen S&W M-39 I owned was a 3913 which I loved and regret not hanging on to. I also regret not having the foresight to pick up a 5906 before they were discontinued. But at the time everything I was issued, routinely shot and even carried off duty was a Glock. I made the decision to focus on that sole platform in training courses and practice. Now though I rarely even touch a Glock pistol. Overall I'm pretty turned off by polymer pistols or striker fired pistols in all persuasions. It'd be nice to see S&W do a "Classic" Model release of the 5906 and 3913 again, I believe they'd probably sell enough to be worth the effort.1 point

I really need to pony up for the lifetime. I have been a benefactor since David started it and just renew it every year, don't even remember how many times that has been now lol. Worth every penny. The knowledge I have gained from here is invaluable. We could start a TGO tv show with some of the entertainment and drama we have sometimes but that's just part of it.1 point

One of the things that bothers me about this is the lack of effort/oversight concerning the precautions that Nrange didn't take to prevent this from happening. I know most of you have not seen the store but most of the front of the shop is large plate glass windows. The windows don't have any bars on them or anything else to prevent entry in the event that the window is broken. There are also not any pylons of anything else to prevent a vehicle from being rammed into the window. I'm not sure what protocol is when it comes it gun shops securing weapons during non business hours but the ones at Nrange obviously were not secure enough. I do know of some shops that put everything in a safe at night. I know that could be a lot of work but if I were in their shoes I think that I would just consider that a part of the price of doing business.1 point

Rock Sliders are the first part you should put on it. Most require drilling holes in the floorboard and the tub, but they're priceless. If it came with a D-35 rear axle, replacing it should be your first up-grade. Don't put a heavy spare tire on your tail-gate, fit a tire carrier in the up-grades somewhere.1 point

Ah thank you, didn't know it was illegal to have both, thought they had to be attached. Will have someone hold onto it until everything is done. Good thing my ignorance brought up the topic.1 point

Not even worried, the factory backplate on the pistol will not be touched until everything is done. Being 15 years into a retirement that requires a security clearance subdues any desire to play silly games.1 point

You have the best pistol S&W ever marketed and are not likely to see its like anywhere again. If at all possible I would recommend you obtain and stick with OEM mags for your 5909. Others will jump out and talk up aftermarket mags for it, though so try what works. To run your gun properly you essentially need five magazines. Given the size of the 5906 I really don't care for extended magazines in it. I do recommend you purchase and either install or set aside for late a couple of sets of replacement springs for your pistol. Having owned one of the earliest of S&W M-59's as well as several M-39's and a 3906 the 5906 was the only one where I felt S&W got it right.1 point

Because he can't. If he could, he would have done it already. Even if he did, a court injunction would quickly follow. A similar thing will happen if he mandates private transactions go through a FFL, or if he defines a length of time you have to own a gun before it becomes your "personal" firearm. EOs have to have a basis in legislation/regulation, and I know of no federal statutes that would give him that authority.1 point
