  1. We'd be watching President Clinton get inaugurated today. Carry on. That is all.

  2. NRA did it's part but GOD rallied the troops for this one. Did you notice Franklin Graham mentioned in the Old Testament rain was a sign of blessing. Rain drops fell on Donald when he stepped to the podium. My opinion and won't argue the point...

  12. Guns And Leather had this older used Glock 30 for $395. Night sights still bright and the original box. I saw it one day , talked myself out of it. Went back again and talked myself out of it. Then went AGAIN and bought it . It still had factory copper grease in the slide. Hardly any wear and it's guts looked brand new. To me it was awesome to get a big-bore Glock at $395 in this shape. Most people like the Glock 19 . For me it's the older original Glock 30 .

  13. In theory everyone is disarmed, but we all know how not secure a place like the convention center is. Too many ways to easily get in. Plus, it's still easy enough to shoot the security at the door and walk in. Honestly, there really is no "secure" place on the planet. But the liberals don't quite understand that...

  14. First and foremost, God certainly had his hand in this election, how do we know, all of the protests prove it! Second I am sure the NRA contributed by contributing resources into campaigns. Anyone who thinks otherwise is not wise or not familiar with how the NRA works behind the scenes.

  16. How was the NRA imperative to this? President Trump won on a jobs message, massive discontent with the healthcare market, and a weak opponent. The pro gun stuff was simply preaching to the choir. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk just to give Oh Shoot something to be grumpy about.

  20. HB0040 would make the CONCEALING of a handgun without a permit illegal VS presently it is illegal to carry a firearm openly or concealed without a permit. That would put us in line with states like Kentucky and Louisiana where you can openly carry without a permit but if you choose to conceal you need a permit. SB0131 seems to be a more comprehensive bill that covers various aspects of weapons code. There are a lot of positive points in this bill. 1. Basically if you are legal to possess a firearm you can carry it openly or concealed without a permit. 2. The school weapons law is changed from prohibiting weapons at all public and private K-12 schools and colleges to just public K-12 schools. From what I'm reading private schools can stick up signs and it would still be a felony at that private school to carry, even with a permit. The change also makes the school weapons law apply just to the property owned or operated by the school....not the present mess of a situation where you can get a felony charge wherever there is a school activity say at the local park or theater. 3. The whole park weapons law is deleted. 4. Anyone can store a firearm in a vehicle parked in any location, such as school property, without worry of criminal prosecution VS situation now where you have to have a permit just to store firearms in a vehicle parked at a school or 'posted' property. 5. It looks like the 'no guns' sign law would be modified and require a local or state agency to hold public hearings before a building is posted 'no guns'. My view is these are both really good bills. I honestly would just go ahead and delete/modify the 'no guns' sign law to remove the criminal weapons charge and if I was really ambitious just totally removing the whole schools weapons law or providing an exception for people with permits on K-12 public school property. I would be concerned that if you have either constitutional or open carry w/o permit legalized, you're going to have a TON of no guns signs that could hit people with weapons charges. I'd be proactive and remove that 'no guns' sign weapons charge from the code.

  29. I hear ya' - and I actually think she is better looking now than she was then. Another thing is that, unlike some actresses who get put into action heroine roles, her portrayal of a badass heroine is actually convincing, IMO. The Resident Evil movies, as a whole, are really pretty much B movies based on a video game but with A movie special effects. However, Ms. Jovavich's performance makes them very enjoyable to watch, not just because she is easy on the eyes but because she is convincing and draws the viewer in with her performance. I also love the way that she often portrays the character not just as a tough gal who is doing what she has to do but, as with some of the best male action stars of the past, as someone who - maybe despite herself - kinda likes it. That gives her a certain swagger and makes the character fun - see the way she is smirking and how her eyes are kind of lit up when she is riding the motorcycle in the trailer for an example of what I mean. She doesn't look like a person who is resigned to her fate. Instead, she looks like a person who is absolutely in her element and feels like, "Oh, yeah - this is what I live for!" There are certainly other actresses who can be just as convincing with or without that element of joy in what they are doing - Scarlett Johansson as 'The Black Widow' and Kate Beckinsale in the 'Underworld' series, another couple of ladies who could make Merriam-Webster arousing, for instance - but not all are. For example, even though she has been cast in a lot of 'action' roles and has been in movies I have enjoyed, overall, I never seem to be able to fully accept Angelina Jolie as a badass, for some reason. Milla Jovovich, though? Yeah, I can totally believe that she could kick my ass (and make me like it.)

  31. I almost bought a SAA clone a couple of times (Sportsmans Warehouse had a Cimarron Evil Roy .45LC). Sweet gun, but I decided to wait another payday and get an actual Colt. That's my next one... a new production 5.5" case hardened Colt SAA .45LC. After that I have it all planned out (order is yet to be determined) - Winchester 1873 .45LC (Buds has them in stock) - Ruger American bolt rifle .22lr threaded for my jailed silencer - Ruger SR22 threaded for my jailed silencer - after that maybe a 6.5 creedmoor bolt gun ?

  32. They could say just the opposite if you had no training. Bottom line is if you find yourself in grave danger (as Col Jeesep says "is there any other kind?") do what you have to do and let the chips fall where they may. You will more than likely face a civil suit and may be charged with a crime. During court they will throw everything at you and try to present you in a bad light, whatever the circumstances are. Don't worry too much about it, just remember the s**t storm is just starting after the shooting, no amount of training or lack thereof is going to stop that. To the original post, I'm not so sure I want to see the permits go away. I just think it very well could backfire with lots more businesses posting and restrict other public places. Kind of like letting 18 year old vets get a permit. I'm sure the lawmakers had good intentions but the net result is placing restrictions (due to other states not recognizing TN permits) on most permit holders. I'd be willing to bet that law hurt more permit holders than it helped.

  34. Thanks greg, my set did have that, but it was not the mauser one, that one is bigger. There are 2 like a flat head screwdriver with a u cut out of the middle. The largest one fit it. I attached a pic. Not sure if that is the large or small size. I then realized how little I knew. I could not get it to work until I had a DUHHH! moment. The firing pin...THEN the spring goes in.... I realized this when I saw this image of the internals. By the way, the guy that does these is fantastic. He has a lot of models.I just stumbled across it. Here is a link. http://cungya.deviantart.com/art/Iver-Johnson-top-break-safety-revolvers-HLebooks-536149400 So now I just have to get some .32 S&W ammo to test it out.

  35. Pretty sure I'll be getting the CZ P10c as my next gun. I've got a DE in 44mag on layaway at work and my wife wants a P320 compact. Hoping to get a PS90 before the summer time and a scope for my M1A SOCOM 16 project. I really wish the guy that has the Colt SP1 in the classifieds would answer my PM's since I've been after an SP1 exactly like the one he has listed for several years. I want an early model with the 3 prong flash hider. I've got the cash but he never has replied. First world problems.....

  38. I started reloading 40 years ago, and for most of that time, I used W231 and Unique for both .45 and 9mm with good results. During the recent powder shortage, I tried a lot of "new to me" powders, and now use VV N320 for the 9mm stuff, but I still try to keep some W231 on hand for .45. Bob

  39. We went to a Titans game a year or so ago, and I forgot to leave my $80 knife in the car, which was parked about a mile away, and would be nearly impossible to fight against the sea of people coming across the bridge. There was a big sign right above the metal detectors, "no gun or knives of any kind." I walked out to the parking lot and found a place to stash it near a jersey barricade. I looked around to make sure nobody saw me, but I was certain it would be gone by the time I left. Somehow or another it never got spotted, and I collected it on my way out.

  40. I had a small folding knife in my bag that the TSA in Indianapolis found as I made my way home from overseas. Somehow the MPs on customs inspector detail missed it when I went through Kuwait, otherwise I could have just put it in my checked bag during the inspection there. Not sure when, but at one point, it made its way into the laptop compartment of my backpack. Ironically, I had been wondering about it for a bit, thinking I had left it in Afghanistan. The agents in Indy we're quite chill about it, offered to let me pay to have it mailed, but I didn't feel like coughing up the cost.

  43. I've been going through some old guns I recently acquired, and got to this ancient 1894 Marlin. After some tinkering, cleaning, etc., I decided I wanted to shoot it. Well, the ammunition wouldn't begin to chamber. A quick glance showed that dreaded ring of brass at the back of the chamber.....A case with the head ripped off. I'd like to claim this idea, as it worked great, but it was actually a suggestion from my father. I removed the bolt, and ran a tap of the proper size into the case, just deep enough to get a good bite, and drove it out with a wooden dowel. A tap and die set can be had pretty inexpensively from somewhere like Harbor Freight if you don't happen to have one already. The tap cuts threads into the brass rather than pushing the brass harder and harder into the chamber walls like an easy out or screw would do. I hope this idea might be of some help to someone here if you ever encounter a stuck case.

  44. Dude I'm sorry but that's a pretty depressing outlook. I love TN but traveling is fun. It would be a pretty boring life if I never left "my immediate area". I understand if you don't want to but for many of us, losing reciprocity is a big deal.

  45. The wife over did it a little bit while shopping in Colorado Springs, so I got her blessing to pick up something that I've wanted for two years. Winchester 1873 .38/357 short rifle. Yes, it's Japanese, but it's beautiful, and I look forward to many years of shooting it, then giving it to my son. I also have a Henry Big Boy in .38/357. I think I have enough tacticool stuff. I'm going to start looking for good lever guns, revolvers and black powder rifles.
