  1. Picked up this little booger on a trade for that SP5K. Have well under $3k in the deal total and it came with almost $1000 worth of ammo (mostly Barrett factory rounds). It's got the Bushnell 10x package on it from the factory & pelican case.

  2. A pretty good sign that I'm on the correct side of something is to look at who's against me.

  3. I saw some of that(photographs from odd shots) and had to wonder about it. Some of that had a really staged look about it. The guys running around screaming "Don't Shoot! Hands Up!" and kneeling in front of the cameras, then looking back at the camera as if checking to see if the shot had been gotten. And what's up with all the masks and full-face bandanas? You want to tell us how great you are, and how terrible Trump and the new government is; then be a man about it! Show your freaking face! Let us know you are something more than a shill for the left. Something more than an agitator out to cause trouble by breaking windows, turning over trashcans, setting fires to cars, etc. And who comes to a political protest rally with hammers, and mini crowbars? This is a peaceful protest? Sure. You just thought that the bricks on the sidewalks needed work and you all were going to help the city maintenance workers by taking them up. I personally believe that you/we have the right and the mandate to protest and say how/what we feel. But when the vandalism starts, when the first window is broken, the cars are torched, and you start throwing bricks at the police and firefighters...the white gloves should come off. If you can give out...be ready to take your well deserved treatment! I have absolutely no love/respect/concern for rioters. Bring on the tear gas, water cannons, and the cuffs. Arrest and prosecute them to the fullest extent possible. Sorry...I rant. But I really hate people who do things like that.

  4. I don't think we ever stopped being a super power. Being one of a few countries capable of destroying civilization always keeps you in the game. I'd like to see him destroy ISIS like he stated, or get the hell out of The Middle East. We've lost too many good people and wasted too many resources. I'd prefer that money were spent here at home on education, infrastructure and my own selfish cause, veterans.

  6. I don’t own any foreign guns except a Mosin a friend gave to me; and I’m better armed than most. It’s not totally bad as the story I read said they will be manufactured here. Unless that’s code for assembled here; it’s that’s better than nothing. Smith & Wesson partnered with General Dynamics to produce the Military M&P; and it doesn’t make the cut? Nonsense, that’s simply politics or some behind the scenes shenanigans. Tell them what the problem was and let them address it. But again, if they pick the 9mm they have accomplished nothing with this Sig except wasting a lot of money. The best of the most important material things in life, Liquor, guns, cars and motorcycles, are still made here. Buy American, Hire American and America First. That’s the plan I heard yesterday. Let's roll with that.

  7. I hate to see a foreign company get a military contract. That just makes no sense to me. But it says they will be made here. If that’s in the contract I guess it better than nothing. If they stay with the 9; what did they gain?

  8. I am very familiar with that same phrase "don't tell my wife" . When my wife catches me with a new gun I tell her "at least guns and shooting is way better than chasing women and hanging out in bars"

  11. They helped push lots of folks to the polls. Future gun rights was a big thing to a lot of us. At the time, we didn't know we were gonna have the HUGE bonus of all those liberal tears. I even sent the NRA some bucks. You're welcome.

  12. So, I was in the market for a cheap coyote gun when this used Axis popped up. Crappy rattle-can stock, stock trigger (30lb of grit...) & factory Bushnell. Mind you, it was $200 so I'm not complaining & it came with 400 round of 50gn hollowpoints. Picked it up this morning & immediately decided it was too long &, well....normal. 12 o'clock & I get a 1hr lunch break so I figured "*%#$ it". Pulled the stock, removed the mounts & scope, whipped off the barrel, ran to a friend with a lathe, used said lathe to chop it to 16¼", turned a nice 11° crown, ran home, removed the trigger, replaced the stock spring, installed an over travel screw, polished the trigger & sear (3lb pull, zero overtravel. Didn't have time to fix the pre-travel. I'll live with it!), reinstalled it, screwed on the barrel, headspaced it, tightened everything up, scope on, stock on, loaded the mag & zeroed the thing (1½" high at 100yds, ¾"group) & STILL had time for a cheese sammich! Do THAT with your Remchester!

  13. I've been hearing quite a stir about these lately. Anyone here went and caught them? http://www.wbir.com/news/local/state-record-tilapia-caught-on-old-hickory-lake/385379045 Heck! I know this guy. I guess he'd be a good one to ask, huh?

  14. I searched and didn't see this. I just learned that Mike Dillon who is the designer of Dillon reloaders and revised the mini-gun passed away on November 7, 2016. You can look on Dillons website and they have a tribute.

  15. If you know of anyone that has a model 85 that might be looking for an extra mag it is easy enough to get. The new Double stack 380 magazines they are making work great with a little tweaking. Just buy one andtake it to about any local gunsmith and they can alter the notch just enough that they will work just great in the model 85's. I have tried about 200 rounds through the 3 I had altered and they work just as good as the factory mag that came with the 85 originally.

  18. I think the break even is 40 years if there aren't any price increases in the permit. So 74 for me. 100 for the first 8 years, then $50 dollars for every 8 years thereafter. It takes 40 years to reach $300. At least I don't have to worry about renewals, DMV, or future price increase.

  19. Don't feel bad buddy, I have fished Old Hickory for about 30 years and can pretty much go anyhwere I want to but about 6 years ago I was running up stream just past the warm water discharge channel and not paying enough attention in the fog that morning and I drove my Skeeter about 30 feet up on a mud flat betwen those 2 islands. Lucky it was all mud cause I was clicking about 60MPH when I went mudding. I called a buddy of mine and it took him and another buddy with both boats both sporting 250 hp motors and 5 broken ropes to pull me off that flat. I still think about that day every time I run past that flat and remember how stupid I was cause I knew better and just got careless 1 time and 1 time is all it takes...........lol As far as not knowing how to get into the steam plant channel even as well and I know it there use to be a small island on the down stream point of the mouth of that channel as you turned into the channel. With all the high water the earth part of the island is gone but the rock part of it is only about 1.5 feet below the surface. Even like I said, as well as I know that area I shut down on main channel and go it on trolling motor now so I don't tear something up.

  20. Yea, the model 85 was the first one that went to the 15 round magazines. I got the gun on a fluke deal. I had a S&W 380 Body Guard that a buddy of mine wanted so bad it hurt. He had the 85 that I wanted so bad it hurt. So he showed up on day and had it with him and the swap was made. Believe me finding a back up magazine for it was vertually impossible. I finally got 3 but had to get a little inventive. I really think you will like the gun after you have put some rounds down range with it. if you decide it is not for you let me know and I will take it off your hands if the price is right.

  21. I guess you can tell by my screen name I am partial to Bersa's. I have a Thunder 380 and a Model 85 and love both of them. I know many people don't think a 380 caliber is a hot enough round but I would not want to find out if it is or not. I think once you put a few mags through it you will like it. I like the wood.

  22. I had a buddy loose a lower unit the other day and another one hit some rocks on a place he always fishes and did extensive damage to his keel and had to put his boat in a friend of mines boat repair center. He is having the keel repaired and having my friend install a heavy duty Hamby Keel protector on it. Folks need to be careful on the lakes that are in draw down for sure and always wear life jackets and hook up those kill switches. It is always wise to check lake levels before going on the water...........jmho

  23. I have not been greg but I do know of several other anglers that have been catching numbers of them. One guy brought 45 home with him about a week ago. They are being attracted to that warm water. If you go up there be careful of the under water rocks and boulders around the entrance to the warm water discharge channel once you leave the main channel. Good luck if you go!!..................

  24. That is exactly my viewpoint as well. Don Jr is SUPER Pro 2A, however. I'm hoping he will be influential to his father and DC in general. I'm hoping Ivanka (global warming fanatic) won't. Our luck, it'll be the reverse. :/

  25. And hits on target is more effective than misses....that is the bigger issue. Why is it that the British SAS and SEALS don't complain about 9mm effectiveness putting people down but people who never actually train with pistols say 9 is useless.....maybe it has to do with actually hitting what they aimed at? In fact Bill Davison (former British SF) goes as far as to say that if 9mm doesn't work then all his ammo must have been defective as everyone he shot with it died. A big part of it is simply that the military spends little resources on pistol training for the average soldier. Very few soldiers actually ever use a pistol. Unless they are an MP or in a specialized unit very few guys in the military use pistols AT ALL much less with any regularity. Pistols don't win wars and as such the military spends little resources on training for them with the exception of some specialized units. There are probably 100 support people for every trigger puller and those support people get virtually no training with pistols and the actual 11B (infantry) troops get very little . In fact a good friend of mine who was in the INFANTRY in Desert Storm said after basic training he doesn't even remember SEEING a pistol except on the hip of some higher level officers or MPs. So if few people carry them and even fewer get regular realistic training with them then no wonder there is little confidence in it. As to Sig320 getting the nod over Glock ....the army likes external safeties so that non dedicated personnel (who get little to no training) are at least theoretically less likely to accidentally shoot themselves and others.

  26. It will be interesting to see how really "pro 2A" he really is. I know he will be better than Hillary would have been in that regard, but I think a bunch of his "pro" comments were done to get the conservative vote. Quite a number of politicians get more "pro" around election time.

  28. dDd you see the kids during the riot that walked up to the police lines, sat down and posed in various ways? Some had their hands up like they were blocking something, some had their hands behind their heads. Meanwhile a bunch of masked people are walking around taking artsy photos of them. Then they got up and walked away. The police didn't even bat an eye at them. I'm sure those photos will soon be part of some propaganda machine. I mean seriously... your party lost, it's happened to one group or another since 1789... get over it. Sadly I don't think you could talk these folks off the ledge. Maybe Trump will legalize pot. Then they can medicate themselves and stay on their couch.

  33. I took my SBR to All Things Engraved in Cool Springs. They use a sandblasted for what I needed. I believe they said they could do traditional engraving as well. I chose the sandblast technique because he recommended it and said it was cleaner for the small letters. Turned out great and I'm happy with the work. Nice folks too.

  34. First and foremost, God certainly had his hand in this election, how do we know, all of the protests prove it! Second I am sure the NRA contributed by contributing resources into campaigns. Anyone who thinks otherwise is not wise or not familiar with how the NRA works behind the scenes.

  44. Yes, that is why I said I support CCW for all 18 or over, not just military. While I have met more than my share of 18yo kids, I have also met quite a few over 21 that have been as immature as any 18yo. So what ever age they want to set as the magical age of adulthood, that is the age everything should be available. As to diminishing value of CCW permits, hell I consider it a rip-off as it is, paying for a right we should have freely. And while we can carry in many places legally, with that permit, they still infringe on that right by playing word games and downright prohibiting them, illegally IMO, at certain public venues. So while I hear your concern, in the end what do we really lose? VA tried to rescind its reciprocity and had to back off of it due to its own political opposition to it. If states want to keep reciprocity, all they have to do is state they will honor only permit holders 21 or older, If they don't, then they were probably looking for any excuse not to.
