Yup. The state trooper did tell her she was lucky, that a week ago he worked a similar wreak with a fatality. I am doing my part. I am eating cows as fast as I can but I am only 1 man.5 points

Cows are dangerous killers. Anyone wanting to own one of those horrible things should have to pass a background check and register it. We have to do this for the children.5 points

That's how I kill a coyote once I call it in. I get it in the crosshairs then start slowly cleaning my AR.4 points

They are not stealing these animals to run through a slaughter house. They will probably be driven a couple of hundred miles, split into smaller groups, and run through a sale barn within 48 hrs. Unfortunately, there is really no efficient way to track stock like this. They obviously do not have microchips or any such device, and ear tags or sale stickers are not unique to just one animal. I suspect the only way these folks will get caught is if they are caught in the act. Me personally, I hope somebody shoots their ass. Farmers work way too damn hard to have some jackass thief come take their property.3 points

Never, and I repeat, NEVER, underestimate the depths of ol' Lenny's stupidity. Never. Anytime you even think that, imagine a Draco with a dayglo orange spray painted muzzle.3 points

Maybe, but much better than ignoring the whole thing. Just because the man/company has money does not mean his act is not a good deed. And I bet our being impressed or not hasn't even crossed his mind.3 points

I disagree, I think it was not required for Papa John's to do anything about this situation in a locally owned store. The fact that he went out of his way to show up in person and pay for ANYTHING shows a lot of class. IMHO, Papa John's had nothing to do with this situation. That SOB is to blame for it and should be made to pay for it. Same goes for any business that has one of their employees killed by actions of some criminal, it is not the business' fault for something like that. Now, faulty equipment, dangerous procedures in the work place or other things they can control is another thing. One can argue that he should not of been alone, but all that would of done is created more victims.3 points

I do seem to recall there being an issue with papa Johns now that you mention it. I'm willing to set gun politics aside and acknowledge a class act though.3 points

Shoot, we ought to take up a collection to FedEx Mike his so he gets his first. He's been like a kid waiting for his birthday since he got on the wagon.2 points

Macon County? Vehicle in Pasture? Cows present? No I have never been involved in such a thing that caused the fenders to be replaced and the bed to get kicked by one really ticked of cow. And if this was to have happened no cows were hurt. Just one guys truck. :rofl:2 points

I use a YHM Phantom M2 suppressor with that same setup (10.5 inch Rainier Arms barrel though) and it has worked very well. Not sure about the shorter barrel but I've had no stabilization problems with subsonics.2 points

most of the SEC mess will play itself out before the season is over. The whole thing kind of makes me laugh anyway. Last year and previous people would bitch about who was #1 or #2 and why #3 deserved a chance, now we will bitch about why #6 is more deserving than #4. When it goes to 8 teams then people will argue about #10 being better than #8. It never ends.2 points

Yeah Prag that's it. Mine came from a local dealer who carries Condor. Very nice stuff for the money. Maybe not the best but it's well stitched and solid....and cheap!2 points

Well,,, I don't want to jinx myself but we FINALLY got the last 2 cows off of our place and back onto the neighbors. The neighbor is happy and I'm happier! I am getting firewood out of it which doesn't come close to covering my time and the damage the cows caused but hey, it's solved a problem that I hadn't cured yet so it's one less thing to worry about. Another guy came to help us run them back through and his farm is joins the other side of the neighbors place. He was showing me some trail cam pics and pics of bucks that he's taken just down the road and all I can say is wow! The 10 he killed last year was a monster! I will get him to send me a pic and post I here for everyone to drool over.2 points

Bullet magically materializes in the chamber and the cocks itself while cleaning. Happens quite often and is why cleaning is one of the most dangerous aspects of owning a weapon. :rofl:2 points

Please do not defile the M1 carbine with optics or anything else. The sights are fine for 100 yards and within. Like Mike.357 it is my favorite rifle of all time.2 points

I am making my own suppressor and hoping it will be effective. I am using titanium, stainless steel and possibly aluminum if I can find someone local to me to anodize the aluminum parts. If not I will use titanium. Aluminum is lighter but titanium is stronger. The outer tube will be titanium and the end caps will be 316ss. Dimensions are 1.5"x9". It will have a 1" tube full of K baffles on the inside and that will be encases in 1.5" outer tube. The inner tube will vent its blast baffle into the area between the inner and out tube. Any excess gas will be forced through the K baffles.1 point

I have a YHM Phantom M2 with a 10.5" Alpha Shooting Sports barrel. Works great. I was gonna get an SDN6 but the YHM was $300 cheaper and meters to the point a naked ear can't tell the difference, at least mine can't.1 point

I use a Rainier 8.5" also with good results. I shoot it with both a YHM qd and a Ti AAC 300-TM. I prefer the AAC as it is quieter and lighter. Really any 7.62 can will sound decent with 300 subs. Here are a few others you may want to check out: sdn-6 as mentioned earlier specwar 762 saker 762 liberty chaotic liberty freedom yhm m2 You need to consider weight, length, mount, construction, dB reduction, and possibly cost. My advice is not to let cost sway you and really consider weight. It may not sound like a lot but you WILL notice a heavier can. Think about your primary role for the rifle and let that guide you as well.1 point

I have a 8.5" 300 blackout and use a 762-sdn6 and really like it a lot. Sounds amazing with subsonic ammo.1 point

Assault I mean Angus Cows must be banned immediately! Next thing you know, someone will add a 30 round magazine clip and a pistol grip to these things and turn it into an evil black cow.1 point

I have been working on this for a few days now. It is an Alaskan style Ulu with oak scales and brass pins. This will be traveling to Washington to a friend who will use it to scrape deer and bear hides .1 point

Had this thing out today, I was able to run it w the gas being open 1/4 turn from closed w a effin a compensator. Using 55 gr 223 ammo, it was great, recoil dropped w the gas valve being closed, the effin a comp took a bunch of plugs but it dos its job as well! The BTE adj gas block is worth every penny.1 point

Check out Republic Wireless which works through the Sprint network. I have the Moto G phone $179.00 and $25 dollars per month plan with no contract. It's been working well for me and my wife for six months. I switched from AT&T and an iPhone 3. The Moto G is just as good in my opinion and the data plan is pretty darn good. The only downside is the Moto G from Republic Wireless will not work on another carrier if you decide to change, but hey, it's only $179 bucks.1 point

I'm sorry but since it's Jose I find it kinda funny :rofl:1 point

This is probably not something that could be proven for several reasons: 1. identifying owner (mostly mentioned above, and preponderance of the evidence would be all that is required, but it would still be disputed); 2. although livestock must be fenced, it isn't an absolute that the owner is responsible just because the cow is out; she would have to prove that the owner was negligent in the manner in which the fence was constructed (or the temporary measures were inadequate while repairs were being made); 3. she would have to show that she was less at fault than the cow's owner (which might be harder than the others); 4. Damages might not be that high. She would only be entitled to the fair market value of the car (which would be similar to, but not necessarily the same as, the amount her insurance company would pay her). Property damage only cases are rarely worth the time and effort to file a lawsuit. Nevertheless, with all of these things in doubt, I think it would be a little bit difficult to prove.1 point

Lots to consider in these post. All good points for PJC doing the right thing, even if just a PR move. In spite of what may be reality, the act itself deserves some kudos. For that I will also order Friday. But maybe we should all ask to speak with a local manager and explain why we are doing this as well. Or at least, as time and occasion permit send a call to the shop we used. By quoting the receipt number, we could show how many extra orders were received from TGO members.1 point

As has been said, it's on her insurance company to make restitution to her. Company will take it from there if they think they have recourse to recoup any of it. The only way it's "on her" is if she's not covered for what she considers full recompense and wants to sue the landowner directly. - OS1 point

Everyone and their mom has an AR15 in .223/5.56. The military used 5.56. Heck, NATO uses the 5.56. You want ammo for an end of the world scenario that will be on dead bodies or in peoples stock piles? Get a .223/5.561 point
