  2. There are douchenozzles on the Interwebz. News at 11.       Are you saying that censorship is the right way to handle speech with which you disagree?

  3. No, that’s not how it works. If the material can be identified it is either returned to the owner or seized as evidence. I wouldn’t pay the scrap yard a dime, and if I was the responding Officer they would give the name of who brought it in or they would be arrested also. Sounds like someone is giving you a BS story.

  6. A young cowboy from Montana goes off to college. Half way through the semester, having foolishly squandered all his money .... he calls home. "Dad," he says, "You won't believe what modern education is developing! They actually have a program here in Alabama that will teach our dog, Ole' Blue how to talk!" "That's amazing," his Dad says. "How do I get Ole' Blue in that program?" "Just send him down here with $1,000" the young cowboy says "and I'll get him in the course." So, his father sends the dog and $1,000. About two-thirds of the way through the semester the money again runs out. The boy calls home. "So how's Ole' Blue doing son?" his father asks. "Awesome, Dad, he's talking up a storm," he says, "but you just won't believe this -- they've had such good results they have started to teach the animals how to read!" "Read!?" says his father, "No kidding! How do we get Blue in that program?" "Just send $2,500, I'll get him in the class." The money promptly arrives. But our hero has a problem. At the end of the year, his father will find out the dog can neither talk, nor read. So he shoots the dog. When he arrives home at the end of the year, his father is all excited. "Where's Ole' Blue? I just can't wait to see him read something and talk!" "Dad," the boy says, "I have some grim news. Yesterday morning, just before we left to drive home, Ole' Blue was in the living room, kicked back in the recliner, reading the Wall Street Journal, like he usually does". "Then Ole' Blue turned to me and asked, so, is your daddy still messing around with that little redhead who lives down the street?" The father went white and exclaimed, "I hope you shot that lying dog before he talks to your Mother!" "I sure did, Dad!" "That's my boy!" The kid went on to law school, and now serves in Washington D.C. as a Congressman.

  10.   No sir, I wasn't referring to you, or this thread, at all and I never took it as a dig.  This is a legit gripe.  Sorry if I came across otherwise.  I was just speaking in generalities in the second part of my post. I'm generally not an LE apologist...I've weighed in on the dip####s as much as I've been pro-cop here.  Every field has them.   Me, and my agency, are definitely NOT perfect.  But when I hear stories like your OP, I just shake my head.   BTW, I'm assuming the dollar amount puts the theft in the felony range.  I would not consider that trivial at all.  Regards.

  11.   Most wont because it's not about truth and facts, many will simply refuse to admit that it is Islam that is still acting like they did 1000 years ago and not everyone else. That's why they have to go back 1000 years to find some argument to attempt to defend their position, then I have heard some of them try to compare one single person who comitted a terrorist attack,(McVeigh) to the thousands of attacks that happen every year in the name of Islam. It doesn't matter to them to remind them that America convicted and executed McVeigh they will still try to make a comparison. I really believe that these liberal-progressive radicals hate us much more than they hate the real enemy, 10th century Islamists. They are always trying to make some excuse for them, and that's exactly what it is, an excuse for acting the way they do, they sympathize with evil jihadist murderers because they hate conservative thinking traditional,(real) Americans. We are in a cold civil war of ideoligies in America between the socialists, (liberal-progressives), and traditional Americans who still believe that America is the greatest country. We are not going to give the enemy a real fight until the socialist liberal progressive who can't admit that radical Islam is the real enemy is out of the WH in 2016.

  13.   Mostly this. This case is a slam dunk for a "defective."  :) They like those, as these cases boost their "clearance rates."  I'm really surpised that they're not jumping on this. This would not be the case where I work.      This leads me to a personal / TGO thing.  Sometimes I read anti-cop type posts here and, of course, they're not my favorite. But understand, I base my LE opinions on where I work, my officers (I supervise 12), and how we do things.  For the most part, I think we get it right. Apparently, that's not the case across the State...and I have to remind myself of that. So I guess to say, if you base your LE opinions on personal experience (or close 2nd hand as in this case), good or bad, I'm cool with that. But the "my brother's wife's cousin's" stories are always silly to me.   Sorry, back to the topic...

  14. Got this Willet Straight Rye Small Batch last week at a silent auction. It's bottled at barrel strength 108 so it's definitely a little hot. It's got a pretty sweat taste on the front with some oaky char on the back. It got better as it diluted a little. I think it'll be great in an old fashion or Manhattan

  18. or maybe the police just don't care.   I am sure they feel there are bigger fish to fry than a thieving pillhead.      I would not be surprised if the scrap yard knew it was stolen.   Pawn shops know when they are dealing with a thief and they don't care.

  19. Obama dies and goes to hell. Satan says, here's no room but you ain't leaving so I'm gonna let one person go and since I'm the king of making deals, I'll let you decide who I let go and you can take their place. Room one, Al Gore getting fried by the sun with no ozone protecting him. ...Obama says, no not this one. Room two, Ted Kennedy drowns in a pool of alcohol. ...no, not this one. Room three, Bill Clinton is kicked back smoking a cigar while Monica lewinsky is under his desk doing what she does best. He's got a million dollar smile on his face. ...Obama says, oh I'll take this one. Ole devil grins and says..." Okay Monica, your free to go."

  22. Three Rooms in Hell   A guy dies and is sent to Hell. Satan meets him, shows him doors to three rooms, and says he must choose one spend eternity in. In the first room, people are standing on their heads on brick floor The guy says "no, let me see the next room." In the second room, people are standing on their heads on a wooden floor. The Guys says that is better, but says no again. Finally, Satan opens the door to the third room. People are standing with shit up to their knees, drinking coffee and eating danish pastries. The guy says, "I pick this room." Satan says okay and starts to leave, and the guy wades in and starts pouring some coffee. On the way out Satan yells, "O.K., coffee break's over. Everyone back on your heads!"

  31.   Well, K191145 just stole my speech. lol I started to type and saw his post before I'd finished.   So now, I'll just say I agree with both of you.    It just seems to absurd to think that these people defending the Muslim agenda can't see the history and what's happening now to the world.   It truly is nothing more than a quest for total world domination.

  32. Sounds like a really bad idea.  I think that if someone needs to be shot then they need to be shot, not hit with a ping pong ball and a firearm should never be seen as both a 'lethal force' option and a 'less lethal' option in the same package.  This isn't Star Trek where they can set their phasers on stun.  I foresee several potentially bad outcomes:   1.  Causing a mindset in officers where they begin thinking of a regular duty gun loaded with regular duty ammo as a 'non-lethal' or 'less lethal' option, causing them to draw their firearm when doing so might not really be warranted, at all.   2.  Causing a mindset whereby an officer, out of a desire not to use deadly force, opts for the 'ping pong' ball when he should really just shoot someone's a** - and the officer ends up getting hurt or killed in the process.   3.  Causing incidents whereby the officer intends to use the less lethal option but either doesn't attach the device properly or, in the heat of the moment, forgets to attach it and ends up improperly and unintentionally using deadly force.  IMO, any 'less lethal' option needs to be an entirely separate device.   4.  Instead of alleviating the problem of public outcry when deadly force is used I think this would actually make the situation worse.  Just like some people now say, "Why didn't they just shoot him in the leg instead of killing him," if an officer made a judgement call that deadly force is required then the family and friends of the 'little angel who loved everybody and wouldn't hurt nobody' (and anyone else looking for a BS excuse to loot someone else's business or destroy someone else's property) would be saying, "Why didn't they just hit him with one of those ping pong balls?  They didn't have to kill him!"   This idea also breaks one of the basic rules of firearm safety - never point a firearm at something you aren't willing to destroy (or kill.)  To me, that rule is clear, concise and makes sense while this attachment simply confuses the situation.  If there is room on the officer's belt to carry this attachment in a pouch then there should be room for something that is completely separate and self-contained.  If there really is a place for something like this, how about something like one of those single-shot 12 gauge flare pistols built to handle a 12 gauge 'rubber slug' load and colored florescent green?  They could call it 'The Noisy Cricket".  Just a thought.

  38. That was great. I've always been a fan of his music. I don't care where he stand politically, nor do I care how he feels about the South and those who live here. I have this uncanny ability to separate the two.

  39. I was more interested in the guy on the right.  Looks like he has 2 flashlights (and obviously the bipod & vertical grip) I can't tell what the other attachments are.  Anyone else got an idea?

  40. Not anger, but the pinnacle reason for my dislike for him is his song, Southern Man, because he stereotypes all men in the South as racists who are cracking whips at the black folks. I was raised in Kansas City, MO and knew many people from further North, and I see more racism in the Northern white man than I have ever seen in the Southern white man.

  42.   Sadly enough there's people who will not research and pay those prices. I had a friend show me and brag about this cool old Russian rifle, (Mosin 91/30) that he only paid $200 for off some dude at work. He really thought he got a good deal. I told him later what he could have really bought one for but I didn't have the heart to burst his bubble right then.

  44. I saw on one fb page a guy said a friend was shooting nosler ballistic tip 7mm-08 and it was foggy and when the bullets went through the fog it made the bullets explode. Lmao A buddy of mine saw the comment and we still laugh at it or send each other warnings on foggy mornings. He summed it up pretty good. He said "you know if people are that daggum stupid maybe being anti-gun makes sense. I don't want to be grouped in with people like that"
