  7. A YouTube channel called SmarterEveryDay recently posted a video about Shockwave Shadows. He uses mirrors and high speed cameras to capture stuff that isn't visible to our naked eyes. His name is Destin. Destin started by filming a 50 cal round moving and then went down to 300blk supers and then subs. And the footage of the subs is really fascinating, especially when he goes to an expert. Then he filmed a revolver with the same technique. Check out all of that gas from the cylinder gap.

  12. The old Gallatin Gun Club is now the Middle Tennessee Sporting Association. We have a new location that we own and invite you to join as member of the range. We will have a 30+ bench rifle shed for 100-400 yard ranges, 2 trap stations and starting with 5 pistol bays. All the ranges are separated from each other with no overlap. Rifle ranges are on schedule to be completed by December 2018 with completion of the pistol bays and trap ranges by spring of 2019. IDPA, USPSA, 3-gun, ATA, high power, small bore and bench rest chair persons are planning events. These events will be slow starting at first because of ongoing construction. Stay tune for developments. We are planning on range improvements and adding new facilities in coming years as we grow. Oh yes, an Archery range is also in the works. Dues are a $200 one time application fee and $200 the first time then $200 per year after that. We have open spots, join with us as we grow. NRA membership is required alone with a clean record. ( It is a gun range after all) Contact Shawn Dorris at 615-452-5894 or shawndorris@comcast.net Mailing address is Middle Tennessee Sporting Association, PO Box 8846, Gallatin TN 37066 Range address is 319 Dry Branch RD, Dixon Springs TN 37057. This is just off highway 10 south of Layette TN.

  13. Full disclosure, Randy is my friend. Because I like his teaching style and course content, I am willing to travel and pay for training. I also enjoyed the company and conversation, so while we got off schedule, I was satisfied with the instruction, corrected one problem (low right) and possibly identified the cause for problem 2 (slight right) when I got home. Some practical take aways: More dry work, 10 minutes, 2, 3 times per day. When I switched to my P224 with flush mag, it was tragic. Odd grip to adjust to, fatter front sight, shorter sight radius. After a mag or two, got mostly on target, but for serious work, I've got to have the 12 round P229 mag for a full grip. Being the slowest cat in class AND appearing even slower, having the pleasure of witnessing some Dark, Light, and dare I say, Turbo-level skill exhibited, made me think a little more tactically. Specifically, I need a little more time if I have engage, do I have other options, including, paying attention and trying to evade or escape if the situation merits? Gives me time and space, in the meantime, practice. This particular class was skill assessment with preparation through dry work and basic warm up. The timed drills were challenging and I thought pretty fun to shoot. Hope everyone made it home safe! Randy - happy early birthday!

  14. Great to hear! I have used the heating pads like you put on terrarium before, but it might be because we have a bunch... I think you have a chance of making this a serviceable weapon again. Certainly will have lots of character.

  20. It is completely random in nature. I drive 48 states OTR on a team truck, so I don’t generally know where I’m going to be from one load to the next. Sometimes I have a little bit of advance notice of where I might have some downtime, and sometimes it is like today where I find out just a few hours before that I’m gonna be posted up for the night.

  21. Yeah, I didn’t know until this afternoon. Of course I can also place myself at the TA in downtown Nashville as well if that’s better for anyone Can y’all tell I’m bored?

  23. In 1975, Saturday Night Live (SNL), a topical comedy sketch show featuring Chevy Chase, John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Gilda Radner, Garrett Morris, Jane Curtin and Laraine Newman, makes its debut on NBC; it will go on to become the longest-running, highest-rated show on late-night television. The 90-minute program, which from its inception has been broadcast live from Studio 8H in the GE Building at Rockefeller Center, includes a different guest host and musical act each week. The opening sketch of each show ends with one actor saying, “Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!” Created by the Canadian-born comedy writer Lorne Michaels, SNL has introduced a long list of memorable characters and catchphrases—from Gilda Radner’s Roseanne Roseannada, to the Coneheads, to Billy Crystal’s Fernando (“You look mahvelous”), to Dana Carvey’s Church Lady (“Isn’t that special?”), to bodybuilders Hans and Franz (“We’re going to pump you up”), to Coffee Talkhost Linda Richman (“like buttah” and “I’m all verklempt”)—that have become part of pop-culture history. The show, whose cast has changed continually over the years, has also launched the careers of such performers as Bill Murray, Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock, Mike Myers, Adam Sandler, Chris Farley, David Spade, Jon Lovitz, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Tina Fey. Some SNL sketches have even been turned into feature films, the two most successful examples being 1980’s The Blues Brothers and 1992’s Wayne’s World. The show was originally known as NBC’s Saturday Night because there was another show on ABC called Saturday Night Live with Howard Cosell. However, NBC eventually purchased the naming rights, and since 1977 the edgy comedy program has been called Saturday Night Live. Lorne Michaels served as the show’s producer from 1975 to 1980, followed by Jean Doumanian from 1980 to 1981. Dick Ebersol helmed the show from 1981 to 1985. Michaels returned to the program that year, and has remained executive producer ever since.

  24. I agree 100%. I wouldn't care whether they use DST or standard time. I would settle for either one. Just pick one and stay with it. It really messes with Darby's tummy timer. She eats at 4:30PM and that is when her tummy starts telling her it's time to eat and she comes to where ever I am in the house at about 4:15 PM, sits down and stares at me until there is food in her bowl. It works the same way and bed time. I normally go in and begin getting ready for the night at 8 PM Turn TV on turn covers back grab a bag of chips I plan on snacking on while watching TV and she will get a night snack of some kind in her snack bowl. I can bet her timing is 1 hour off tonight and it will be that way about a week or until she gets her clocks reset................LOL

  37. When a little more discretion is called for, I reach for one of my .380s. I happen to like them and feel that they are adequate for self defense. I don't have any experience with either of those, but if you like 'em, keep 'em. I also a big believer in never selling a gun you don't have to.

  39. I use a Harbor Freight rock tumbler (maybe $35) with stainless steel media (should be able to Google this), add some water, a couple drops of Dawn or similar dish detergent, and a pinch of LemiShine. Tumble for 3 hours or so, and they are clean and shiny as new.
