I've tried and enjoyed these. BTW these are all the same 10/22. 1. Blackhawk Axiom stock. Lightweight and was great when my kids were small and growing. 2. Magpul X-22 stock. Great stock. A little heavy but solid and adjustable lop. 3. Desert Tech Trek-22 bullpup. This is my current stock and I love it.3 points

My son-in-law ordered me a kitchen knife sharpener, from Amazon, while they were here last week. My old one that came with the kitchen knife set is worn out. It was just a steel rod type. This new one is a drag through made by "Kitchellence." It is a 1, 2, and 3 drag thru process. 1 is a rough cut on the blade cutting edge, and 2 is a more suttle cutting on the blade, and the number 3 is a ceramic dressing drag through. It takes about 4 drags on each number and the thing will cut anything. I even sharpened my pocketknife, this morning, and it is totally sharpened. The appliance is a small stable handheld appliance with a rubber coating that sets stable on the counter. Has a cut through glove to put on your hand that holds the large handle made on the sharpener. One just aligns the knife blade straight, with the sharpener, and drag the knife thru one way. Don't know how much it cost, but "That thing works" guys.3 points

If this is it, looks like it is currently $9.80 on Amazon if you have Prime (Cyber Monday deal). I think it is $12.99 otherwise). I may have to check it out. Thanks.for sharing. https://www.amazon.com/Kitchen-Knife-Sharpener-Sharpening-Cut-Resistant/dp/B079WWFZY6/2 points

Every team plays close games from time to time. The good teams win those games. I'm no Alabama fan, but that win over Auburn in the final seconds was really something.2 points

I was pretty sure the rule would not stand, so I registered four of my lowers and will put regular stocks on two of them and leave the Maxim braces on the other two, but will keep an eye out for rods that can give a longer LOP, though they are not too bad as-is. I am not out anything except postage and an fingerprint ink pad, these were purchased through an FFL, so they already had my info (as if they didn't anyway) but now I am up $400 from the .gov. I am not opposed to registering, like I said they already have my info, but am highly opposed to paying a tax to exercise my rights, the only reason I even got a Concealed Carry Permit was for reciprocity. If the HPA ever passes, I will make one, but will not pay a tax to have one.2 points

For sale only - In Knoxville (some of these hurt to have to sell...) Winchester 94 AE lever action rifle in .307 Win. Checkered walnut. 18 boxes of Winchester .307 ammo and about 40 rounds of reloads. $1400 for the rifle, scope (Simms 2-7x32) and 40 rounds of reloads. I have 18 boxes of Winchester 307 Win that I will let go with the rifle - $2000 for everything. I will not sell the ammo unless the rifle has been sold and the buyer gets first option to buy it. Thanks!1 point

My 3 year old will likely never need to purchase a gun of his own. He really enjoys shooting his Cricket and I expect that he will grow into the hobby. He has already been gifted 2 10/22s, so I'm thinking that it may be fun to build one up for him. Blackhawk makes an adjustable stock that I will probably get so he doesn't have to grow into something bigger. So I suppose what I'm looking for is what have you done with your 10/22 that you really like? As I've alluded, I'm not worried about doing something that will limit the usefulness of the rifle as I have a .22 rifle for pretty much all occasions.1 point

One cannot legally carry in any park in TN without permit. If an employee of a post secondary school in TN one must have the ECP to do so with other stipulations as well. It is against Federal law to be in a school zone or on school property without a permit. Plus the benefit of out of state carry as noted. Possible informal benefits when dealing with LEO, SD shooting, etc.1 point

If you plan to carry in other states it is reciprocated in most.1 point

I had a fire on my property recently while my wife and I were at work, when I got the call, I worried about the FD pulling my fence down on my way home, found out the FD called the sheriff, and he pulled the pin on the opener and opened the gate.1 point

Seems the elite programs find ways to win. Many programs are good against 2nd & 3rd tier teams. UT is sadly in this catagory. Some may hate Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia etc...But I'm sure they'd like their teams have the consistent talent & great coaches these programs have.1 point

If you think that first responders are making any effort to break a time record getting to your emergency you are sadly mistaken. The 30 seconds it takes to get out and punch a code in isn't going to make a difference. Of course if you are that worried about it not having a gate at all of probably your best bet.1 point

Back in the day a Curio & Relics license was the way to go. I never found anything rare/collectible, but I did find some decent rifles and had a blast cleaning, restoring, and shooting them. Maybe it's worth a look?1 point

I don't reload 9mm or .223 because I can buy it by the case for pretty much what I put into components, but for other calibers -- I load .32, 38, .357, .44 Sp, .45 ACP, 10mm, .308, .300 AAC, .270 Win -- it's worthwhile. Cheers, Whisper1 point

I haven't shot anything this year, but I've processed 2 does that my buddy's 7 year old shot. Just finished one up. I put both of the shoulders on the smoker as soon as I broke the deer down. While that was smoking I ground up everything but the backstrip and tenderloins and made summer sausage out of them. I find shoulders frustrating to deal with because they don't have a lot of meat on them, there is a lot of connective tissue, you really have to work for what's there, and whole shoulders don't fit in vacuum bags well. I've found smoking them too 165 and bringing them to about 205 in a dutch oven on the stove with broth, carrots, potatoes, onions, and garlic is very hard to beat. The slow cook breaks down all of the connective tissue and the resulting roast is tender and juicy.1 point

The law is unconstitutional, I am working on it. I have a number in the House appraised, need help in the Senate.1 point

Even with using today's prices vs what I paid for the components I bought, I could reload 9mm for 17¢/round, if I shop smart. 7.0¢ primers 8.5¢ bullets 1.5¢ powder If you factor in the bonuses that everyone else mentioned, like the enjoyment of reloading, the benefit of controlling the quality, and the ability to tailor loads to my needs, then it's a no-brainer for me.1 point

Agree with Greg. Is there a period of history that is of most interest to you? (ie. Civil War, WWI, WWII, Viet Nam, etc.) or just older hunting rifles, etc? Just to let you know, next Sat/Sunday, the largest Civil War show will be held in Franklin, TN. at the Ag/Expo Ctr just off I-65 at Peytonsville Rd. There will be everything imaginable there. You won't find a larger selection, if that era is your thing.1 point
