I was sitting at home drinking a beer and got nostalgic from my days in the Marines. I dug out the plaque the guys from my unit made for me and presented to me the day I left Okinawa. If anyone ever comes by for a beer or to shoot just ask and I'll let you read it. Its not really appropriate for this forum lol. I hung up my M14 and my Grandpa's Model 12 12 gauge on it as they seemed fitting companions. Tapatalk ate my spelling.4 points

It's a BS statement... how they specifically mention they consulted with advocacy groups and then decided. Screw them, they're too wimpy to stand up to a couple of people with 12 million people standing right behind them. I hope DD goes to another channel as soon as the contract is up.4 points

There really is no point in Republicans taking the Senate unless they are true conservatives and NOT politicians and I just don't see that happening. A Republican majority? Possible A Republican majority that will actually make a difference? ZERO chance of that I think. One thing that the Republicans have proven is that, as a group, they have no core convictions that they will actually fight for and won't even follow their own platform. When the had control of both houses AND the Presidency they did NOTING of real substance and they will continue to do nothing of substance unless a majority of elected Republicans love liberty first, conservatives/[r]epublicans second and Republicans a distant third. We have have too many SQRLs (squirrals) Status Quo Republican Losers in the party who are willing to go along to get alone.3 points

August 6, 1945 I was a fertilizer salesman, Hiroshima Japan. Sharing a bamboo duplex with diesel fuel distributor. Stacking fifty pound bags of ammonium nitrate, up to my ass in diesel fumes, geisha girls and all the tempura shrimp you could eat. That night we was on our way to Tokyo to see some sumo wrestling matches when I looked up in the rear view mirror of the Toyota and seen a great big flash. I said Damn mookie! Did you leave the stove on?!?!?3 points

For Christmas. She loves it! We are going to shoot it this weekend. She's excited, which means I'm excited. I really like the fact that it's made in the USA. Over the last 5 years I've really tried to buy made in USA products above others, even at higher cost. All x-mas presents given this year by my fan were made in USA. Anyway, just had to share. Merry Christmas TGO'ers. Happy Holiday's, be safe, and protect your liberty. sq2 points

Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha............the silent majority has spoken. I guess ole Phil and the viewing audience has a little more leverage than the other group. http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2013/12/27/duck-dynasty-to-resume-filming-with-phil-robertson-ae-announces/ 'Duck Dynasty' to resume filming with Phil Robertson, A&E announces Published December 27, 2013FoxNews.com Facebook408 Twitter790 LinkedIn1 The A&E Network announced Friday it would resume filming “Duck Dynasty†with Phil Robertson and the rest of his family next spring. Robertson had been indefinitely suspended by the network for comments he made about homosexuality in an interview with GQ Magazine. In a statement released late Friday afternoon, A&E said, “While Phil's comments made in the interview reflect his personal views based on his own beliefs, and his own personal journey, he and his family have publicly stated they regret the "coarse language" he used and the misinterpretation of his core beliefs based only on the article. He also made it clear he would "never incite or encourage hate." The network added that “Duck Dynasty is not a show about one man's views. It resonates with a large audience because it is a show about family, a family that America has come to love. As you might have seen in many episodes, they come together to reflect and pray for unity, tolerance and forgiveness. These are three values that we at A&E Networks also feel strongly about. “So after discussions with the Robertson family, as well as consulting with numerous advocacy groups, A&E has decided to resume filming Duck Dynasty later this spring with the entire Robertson family.â€2 points

Translation: A&E cares more about revenue than they do about the gay agenda and hardcore leftists. If it sold ads they would allow polygamy, bestiality or anything else that improved their bottom dollar. Capitalism worked in our favor this time.2 points

Many years ago I ordered a starter and flexplate from Summit. I had to have the parts by the weekend for a race, so I paid a small fortune for Next Day Air. Next day comes, nothing. Friday comes, nothing. Friday afternoon I called and raised a small bit of hell with Summit. I had done ~$15k with them in the space of a year and I was less than pleased. They had the starter and flywheel to me at 7am Saturday morning AT IRP. I get home, and come Monday, here comes the Fed Ex truck with a box from Summit for me. I called Summit to let them know, they said they had no record of the first delivery, it no longer existed, have a great day.2 points

Neurology is an extremely difficult field. It takes a special person to go to med school and an even more special to do Neuro. With the days of big money passing away in medicine there isn't much incentive to spend the time and energy unless you just love neurology. It's 4 years MD 5 years residency. It's a lot of time and energy. Plus it's a tough field emotionally cause you see some really bad diagnoses2 points

When was the last time you ate at a Burger Chef or a Big Boy restaurant? Shopped at Woolsworths or a Merry-Go-Round store? Flew on Eastern, Pan-Am or TWA? Where are the products from Sony Betamax, Compaq and MCI Worldcom? Saw a new Studebaker, Pontiac or Packard for sale? Where is Enron, E.F. Hutton, and General Foods now? All these companies were at one time highly profitable, many were among the leaders in sales and viability in their respective fields. All are gone, some by merger and acquisition, some by bankruptcy, others due to fraud and mismanagement. This is capitalism at work; when a company can no longer provide goods and services at a price that the market will bear, those companies go out of business. While economic downturns may exacerbate and hasten the process, good companies survive the bad times and are often stronger than before, those who cannot adapt and change to meet shifting conditions go under. It's the nature of the beast.2 points

Well folks, I have zero plans on registering my firearms by standing in a line because the ones I bought in gun stores or had a back ground check done on me at time of purchase are already registered. Does anyone here actually think that at 10 o'clock each night that the TBI really deletes all the back ground checks they did that day? I don't and never did. They can say they do all they want but I don't believe them. Also if they do back ground checks do they not use a Federal data base to do it. Believe me the Feds know about every gun that was legally purchased through a back ground check. The ones they don't know about are the ones you purchased years ago of bought from another individual. Those are the guns they hope folks are stupid enough to register because they are the guns they don't know you have..........jmho2 points

A .380 Glock (ugh) is very underwhelming. Figure I will save myself several hundred dollars and continue to carry my Colt Agent .38. I continue to not see the fascination in the .380. It's expensive, anemic and scarce as hens teeth. The only use I find for it, is in a pistol the size of a Ruger LCP, that you can stick in the front pocket of a pair of shorts and not have them fall down from the weight.2 points

Best I can figure he was either fishing or an idiot. He was very calm, and I took the Marine mindset of "Be polite, but have a plan to kill everyone you meet". I was polite but firm, and finally stepped out of the truck when he acted like he was getting upset. I was calmer than normal as I didnt want to beat some dude to death with the 8 lb sledge laying in the floorboard the day after Christmas. Call it my holiday spirit i guess. I figured he was fishing and got upset that I didnt pull the rifle out of the case or act intimidated so that he could steal something. Oh well. Chalk up to weirdness. The responding LEO is a friend of mine so Ill ask him later what happened after I left. I don't eat much fast food, and would have normally went in, but I was in a hurry due to work. Sounds like my town. There have been dozens of break ins in the past couple of months. I know in my little town crime is rampant, violent and non violent. In my county it is amazing at how many people are victims. Most don't even call LE anymore because our sheriff has publically, in a newspaper, said not to call unless it is a life threatening emergency. He even said if you have been burglarized come in the next business day to file a report and don't call them. I have several friends who have been robbed and called 911 but the officers never showed. When they called back to find out where the officers were they were told the officers would not be coming because the robber is likely already gone so there is nothing the officers could do. Here is my little towns response to our sheriff's inability to provide even the most basic services. http://www.wate.com/story/23975463/blaine-residents-packing-heat-to-protect-themselves-from-crime So far the biggest single haul was over $100K worth of stuff from a single home. And even to this day the sheriff's office has not hired more people, extended the patrol hours or started responding to alleged crimes. There were times when there were NO officers on duty, only ones on call. And even today you might have to wait more than an hour for an officer if they are responding to another call because it takes over an hour to drive from one end of the county to the other. And people wonder why I carry 100% of the time.2 points

My wife suprised me with this monster Cabelas Commercial dehydrator for Christmas: We don't usually do expensive presents for each other but she got it a while back on a real good sale and just wanted to suprise me. This thing's ridiculous, it's about the size of an oven and I have no idea where I'm going to put it. She said we could swap it if it's too big but it's so much more awesome than anything my cheap azz would have ever bought that there ain't no way in hell I'm getting rid of it, lol! I put 19lbs of ground jerky sticks in it Christmas night and it still had 4 empty racks.1 point

I don't know which hospital in Chattanooga or who exactly gave you that info but I can assure you that its bull crap. My wife is an ER doctor in town, I showed her your post and she listed off 6 just off the top of her head that she still refers patients to. And that's just in Chattanooga alone. I hope you find someone to take care of your family.1 point

We the people could have done many things years ago (and still can), but we the people never did organize to one voice and never did make saving our manufacturing jobs a priority to save. If we the people had organized to protect our jobs like we did for the Great 2013 Gun Scare, we would be sending food today to starving China-men, instead of our jobs. Our country could have levied great duties on anything imported that was already made here. Would we made some countries angry, yes, but who cares. This is our home, our jobs. I doubt seriously if our country was in top financial health from top to bottom, these companies mentioned would not be in any stress.1 point

Pancreatitis is often associated with eating fatty foods such as ham, bacon, steak trimmings, and ground beef. Some dogs, like schnauzers are more predisposed because they already have high triglyceride levels in their bloodstreams. I have had people tell me they feed bacon grease to their dog everyday and see no problems. The other extreme is the dog who gets pancreatitis from just one bite of food. In between are the dogs who have eaten this kind of food before, but suddenly get pancreatitis. We tend to see more pancreatitis at this time of year because people like to share their holiday meals. I always tell people to not feed the above foods (even if the dog has had it before), because pancreatitis can be deadly (and even when it isn't, it is often expensive). If person must feed human food, try fat-free chicken breast and rice.1 point

Yup. Patriot Act stuff is perhaps the most significant infringement on overall rights in our history, really a giant leap forward for the Big Brother State. Also, Dubya said he sign extension of the AUB AWB if Congress authorized it and was also for universal background checks. Fortunately, he was too dumb to do nearly the damage that BHO has, and without Cheney's evil brain would likely have been quite a bit even more benign. Though I'll always consider both as war criminals for Iraq. - OS1 point
