THIS IS A KFC UPDATE !!! Remember when Playboy magazine reportedly offered Sarah Palin $4,000,000 to pose nude in an upcoming issue? Then Michelle Obama was offered $ 0. 50 by National Geographic? And when KFC offered a "Hillary" meal, consisting of two small breasts and two large thighs? Now KFC is offering the "Obama Cabinet Bucket." It consists of nothing but left wings and chicken sh-t.5 points

My wife and myself love hidden compartments, passages doors, rooms, compartments, etc... When we start building our house, things will get interesting i'm sure. Anyways, I have found a way to satisfy my my love for guns, bikes and hidden compartments so here it is, Cool huh :edit: For anyone that isn't familiar with Harleys or bikes in general, this is the floorboard on a Harley (I assume touring bike).3 points

I'm just not sure I see a need for this...it may not hurt anything but is it truly needed? There is hardly a state I travel to or ever want to travel to/through that doesn't already my TN HCP and while we have it better than other States, that seems to be a "State" issue to me; not one that the federal government should solve. If the federal government wants to make things better than how about getting rid of 99% of all federal gun laws! ;)3 points

We as a gun society, TGO, should do nothing but condemn the actions of the shooter if the facts show what is being reported is true. The texting and altercation is being reported to have taken place before the start of the movie. Before a movie starts talking and texting should not be a problem. If all the guy did was throw popcorn at the guy then there is no way that he can be in fear of his life, different if the guy came after him. We, who have an HCP have a greater responsibility to avoid conflict, especially trivial conflict.3 points

Sad for both families. I don't go to theaters any more because of talkers, texters, and general sphincters who seem to be there just to ruin the experience for everyone else. I wait till a movie comes out on DVD and buy it for less than the cost of two tickets.3 points

Thought I'd share this with you guys. You get a M91/30 plus 440 rounds of ammo for $200. I Think it's a pretty good deal, especially with $9.95 shipping. Cope's is also a superb vendor to deal with. http://www.copesdistributing.com/russian-mosin-nagant-189130-round-receiver-rifle-with-440rd-ammo-p-7698.html2 points

We also have to realize that this isn't easy for the folks in the gun biz. You can have all the demand in the world. That doesn't equate to money in the bank when your supply lines are all screwed up. I'll cut Midway some slack, because I've seen how they prefer to run in normal times. One thing you can count on with Potterfield... He has a formal background in business, and is going to keep his numbers right. When his revenues are down because of holes in his supply lines, he's not going to be dumb enough to lose the business, or damage his employees getting through it. I don't think Larry is getting greedy. I think he's scrambling to work around the bad economy and the war on guns. I hate to blame this all on our big eared, knuckle dragging, imitation president (not really), but that's who created Larry's problems. But, all I ask is a fair price and prevailing shipping rates. If it cost me as much or more to ship from Brownell's, I'm probably not gonna blame Larry.2 points

I repeat: Anything the fed can set a precedent for control of, they can control completely. Just takes a different Congress to change a previous decision 180 degrees the other way. Absolutely best to keep their damn mitts off what is purely a state's right issue. - OS2 points

Cause it's NOT poor etiquette. Every movie I've seen in the last decade has a little commercial asking you to shut off devices. After THAT time, it IS considered being an asshat to use them.2 points

I don't disagree with your assessment. For me, however, the real issue is not this particular policy but the overall impact of having bureaucrats at any level (but especially the federal level) dictating to schools what they must teach, how they must teach it and what their policies must be. If there are going to be public schools they should only exist when parents come together to form a school for their children and other than, perhaps, being required to show progress though occasional testing, should be left alone. That won't ever happen of course.2 points

I'll be shooting my first USPSA Match since the late '90's out at ORSA this coming Saturday. I am really looking forward to it. My work schedule (every other weekend off) only allows me to shoot matches about 6 months out of the year. I am psyched ti finally have a "Match Weekend" off for this. I have been shooting IDPA there for a short while (couple of years) and thoroughly enjoy the quality of the stages and the folks I've got to know at ORSA. Now I will need some remediation LOL, so I'm counting on a little help there guys. :pleased: I actually linked to the ORSA USPSA Facebook page ...a major step for me since I'm a dyed in wool technotard. The stages are listed there and they look to be fun and challenging! https://www.facebook.com/pages/ORSA-uspsa/119338841557558 See you folks there. I'm the "Skinny Col. Sanders" looking old curmudgeon. :cool:1 point

Here is my thought. I have no scientific proof, but this is just what I imagined in my head when I first read the story. Clint Eastwood makes a good Curtis. Profanity withheld at the expense of humor to keep it safe for all.
Curtis Reeves decided to go see a movie that day. At age 71, a trip to the movies was usually not worth it. $10 for a ticket and $15 for a drink and popcorn? He could remember the days you could watch a movie for a nickel and get all the free popcorn and Coke you wanted. Too bad he couldn't remember what he had for breakfast the day before, much less the day of. This was a special occasion though. He being a retired cop felt he was one of the good guys. Hey! Lone Survivor is about a real life Seal, he was a good guy. A good old American. They don't quite make them like that anymore. Now everyone's like that clown Marky Mark from the 90's that run around spewing anti-gun rhetoric yet stars in a movie about a Seal. Hypocrites! Curtis Reeves was an example of a good gun owner. Although he had retired almost 21 years ago, he still carried his trusty S&W J frame. Plastic in guns? Those are toys. Curtis would never own a firearm with an identity crisis such as a Glock. No, he wanted metal. And he wanted American! So after he spent 20 minutes buying his ticket and finding a seat, he figured he would see what other forms of mindless entertainment he was missing. While he was sitting there, he kept getting distracted because the guy a few rows down kept pulling out his cell phone and lighting up the room. Cell phones. Why does everyone need a cell phone anyway? Curtis could remember the day when his family didn't even have a home phone. If you wanted to reach someone, you mailed a letter or walked down the street to see them. What is so important that someone has to be constantly texting about anyway? He had finally found a way to avoid his wife by going to the movie. Why would he want to text her? Finally, he was in a place he could relax for a few hours, and this idiot keeps on texting and lighting up the place like a flashbang in a gangbanger's den. At this point, Curtis had enough. It cost him $25 to get in there, and he sure wasn't going to have some young punk ruin it for it. He got up and looked for a manager. Whatever happened to the ushers that would walk up and down the isles? They would have handled this. After walking around for a few minutes, not seeing a single employee but the nose-ring girl at the concession stand and the few guys selling tickets, he decided that he would handle it himself. He walked over to the guy and asked that he stop using his cell phone when the movie started. The young punk told him to mind his own business. Curtis went on to explain that he was a retired cop and how it was impolite to use a cell phone during a movie. At this time, the young punk said that he didn't care who Curtis was, but to mind his own business or he was going to make him. Curtis figured that, just for once, he would show someone his firearm in order to keep the situation peaceful. He was a retired cop after all, and that strategy worked quite often back in his day. So he did, a simple pull of the jacket and the punk would calm down. He didn't. He threw popcorn onto Curtis and then started shoving him backward. Curtis, afraid for his life because the punk was twice his size but half his age, only knew of one thing to do. He drew and pulled the trigger. //Honestly, I know that isn't the way it happened. However, I wrote that story for a few reasons Anyone of us could get in that situation very easily. That being the situation where you are simply trying to do what you feel is right in a non-violent manner, but you make what seems to be a few minor mistakes and it ends very, very badly. You never know who is packing too and may be having a bad day, may be mentally unstable a bit, etc. Treat everyone with respect. You don't want to be the guy that gets shot because he told someone to mind their own business. Walk softly and carry a big stick. In my opinion, we must be 1000% more careful than the average Joe. I am not defending Curtis. He was obviously in the wrong with probably 99% certainty. We won't hear the other guy's story and I doubt anyone else picked up exactly what truly happened. But someone lost a life that day. Someone lost a Father. Someone else probably lost their freedom that day. Didn't even get to see Lone Survivor. Tread lightly until given a reason not to.1 point

I think the 19c will put you in open class, but if you just want to shoot it probably doesn't matter to you. Bring at least 5 mags, if you don't have enough I've got plenty of 19 mags you can borrow. You're going to need mag pouches too, I run three, I've got one double you can use if needed. Edit: Match starts at 10am, so be there around 9:30 to register and for the new shooters meeting. Come on out we'll put you in our squad and walk you through everything.1 point

Makes me sad to think that a young girl will never see her father alive again and that he died while returning a text to her... I think that the old man is in deep trouble here as he started this altercation, left the theater, returned to his seat and restarted the argument and when it escalated he shot and killed the man. Way too many bad choices made here.1 point
The guy didn't deserve being shot for being an ass, but he could have avoided the entire confrontation too. It's amazing how self centered people have become.
I agree with this. Shooting the guy was insane and never should have happened. But if the guy hadn't ignored the rules, and decided his text was more important than anyone else's enjoyment of the movie, he'd be alive today. I've had confrontations in theaters before, people talking loudly or texting. Usually standing up, getting their attention, looking them dead in the eye and giving them one good firm "Shut the f*** up" or "Put the phone down" does it for me. Rude, inconsiderate assholes make my blood boil. I wouldn't shoot them, but beating them with a hammer after the movie has crossed my mind. Tapatalk ate my spelling.1 point

I had my Longslide 1911 engraved by Jerry Smith. http://jerrysmithengraving.com/ He is in Nashville. He did a very nice job for the price. I have been a slacker in posting it up because I don't have a nice camera and being stationed to Ft Bliss right after he finished it ( it's in the Nashville area). TGO member "Smith" on here hooked me up with him. It is his father. There are many types of engraving with "hand cut " being the most expensive. Jerry uses a machine you can read about on his site that does the engraving and makes the price more reasonable. He did a excellent job on mine.1 point

Doesn't matter what gun you qualify with, you can carry whatever you want, even multiple guns (as long as they're legal of course). And as for the not shooting perfectly, my instructor simply gave us pass or fail, didn't mark down anything about where the shots hit, so I'm not sure where that came from. Even if it were true, shooting in a range and shooting in self defense is COMPLETELY two different things, so that's a moot point.1 point

Probably not a photoshop job. Her and her husband are the two biggest proponents of the old " I support the 2A, but…." line. It's like the only credentials the left think you need to make a statement on gun control is to qualify it with that line. I also can't stand how they think her getting shot somehow made her an expert on violence. Which makes about as much sense as saying that getting in a wreck qualifies me for the Daytona 500.1 point

""I don't care if the name is Nathan Bedford Forrest, he's a dead man," Councilman Harold Collins told MyFoxMemphis.com. "We need to be focusing on the living. But except for that, I'm going to vote for this and who knows, we may come back and name the park Nathan Bedford Forrest." So with that logic we should rename streets named after certain dead men?1 point
