3. So I have a job interview tomorrow with TWRA in Nashville, as a forestry program coordinator. I am qualified, it's just a matter of convincing them of that. I'm pretty much reserved to the fact that if it's not in Gods plan then it won't happen anyhow, but it would be nice, for sure. So if your so inclined, I'd appreciate any prayers y'all can muster.

It is "Powder by the Pound" powder, picked upa cheap oven and the thermometer was in the buy as well. The color is frog green, it like it. While I don't willfully advocate breaking the law but lets looks at it from another angle....   Had the OP not noted the MI plate on the car and made the purchase would any "real" crime have been committed?   We all get so used to the gooberment telling us what we can and can't do that we begin to accept it verbatium...

  8. Good call for sure. I wouldn't do a parking lot kind of buy under those circumstance. I would offer to meet at an FFL and have them transferred. That and give him directions to the dmv. Don't let the rifles go so easy if the deal was good IMO. If it wasn't good enough to warrant the above, I'd just keep looking.

  9. Good call.  The other option if you really wanted them was to have him follow you to a dealer and have them do a transfer while he is standing there.

  20. I bought one of these belts; http://shop.simplyrugged.com/ecommerce/Real-Man-s-Belt-single-layer-of-leather.cfm?item_id=171&parent=670; Simply Rugged a few years ago. I got the 1.75" in the oxblood color to match a Silver Dollar Pancake holster I was buying for my SP101.   I like it a lot and it has become my everyday belt for the last 3 years. Excellent quality.   +1 on a good belt being essential for comfortable carry of a handgun.

  21. I guess one thing to compare by is that Tennessee had an average SAT score of 1709 while the national average for the same year (2013) is 1498. We actually far outperformed some of the perceived "more intelligent" states (Cali clocked in at 1505 - just sayin'). Cant always base it on college degrees because of personal choices.    Maybe we ain't so damned dumb after all?   http://testprep.about.com/od/satscores/l/bl_SAT_Scores_By_State.htm

  22. That is correct that you can carry any handgun anytime while hunting and having a handgun carry permit.  If you do not have a handgun carry permit, you have to carry a handgun that is legal for the season you are hunting in, such as a 22 during small game or centerfire handgun during deer season.  If you do not have a handgun carry permit and you are bow hunting, you can't carry a handgun.  If you have a permit, you can carry while bow hunting.

  25. Fixed it.  It was a 30 amp fuse that goes into an adapter that is wired into the engine.  Last night I was just looking around the engine, seeing if anything was out of place, when I discovered this fuse.  I pulled it and it was blown.  $5 and a trip to Autozone later, I put a new one in, turned the key, and she came to life!  I was so happy!  Thank you everybody.  I will remember in the future to check the seat switch and also for fuses that do not look blown.

  26. In all honesty I believe intelligence comes in many different forms and all of them are not from books and colleges or universities. A lot of the more people that are successful in their lives have High School Diplomas that never saw the inside of the higher education facility. I know a few people that are worth millions and are friends of mine and a few of them don't even have High School diplomas. They went to the School of Hard Knocks. Anyone ever heard of that school? I will not brag about myself but the 8 or 10 few years before I became disabled and then dealt with a few tragedies my life that ended up almost bankrupting me I was averaging $110,000.00+ every year income on a high school education. Then went to the School of Hard Knock that does not come from books but comes from using your brawn more than your brain but even that school makes you use your brain also. My oldest sons favorite song was " A Country Boy Can Survive" and that song has more truth to it them most folks give it credit for. How many folks living in Tennessee that grew up living here could survive verses a person living in a High Rise Flat that costs them $2,500.00 a month in New York if the electricity disappeared? How many folks that grew up here could survive if all at once the water companies could not provide water to the High Rises in New York or Chicago. How many folks here could survive if most of the grocery stores shelves began to not get refilled? The list is long folks of things that could happen that would cause a shear panic in New York, Chicago or other heavily populated areas if all at once lost all their way of life was all but gone. How much book learning will help them survive? There is about 80% of people living in New York that have never seen anything closely related to a forest beyond Central Park or Hyde park in Chicago. My guess is it won't take long for the Rat population to begin to drop in the major cities. I am not saying that maybe for some folks a college education might work but for the last 10 years or so only about 20% of graduates can find work in their fields and they are not making what those same jobs paid when they entered college. Our President continuously preaches get a college education even though there are no jobs out there for them but get that student loan even though it may take you the rest of your life to pay it off working at Burger King or KFC. Last time I looked the students that once wanted to become doctors is down by about 55% since the ACA was created and many students changed their majors to another one and will no longer follow their dreams of becoming doctors. Many of the now are looking at Law degrees as their majors. I could probably write a book on this but gonna get off my soap box with this one thought and that is  Yep, A Country Boy Can Survive!!! So just let the people doing these poles believe what they want because many of ya'll like myself did attend the School of Hard Knocks and we know how smart we are so let them keep guessing all they want..........  ..................jmho

  27. I got one in black and one in brown back when they used to be $30. They are still a bargain at $40 compared to the prices charged elsewhere for the same thickness of belt. Mine have held their shape like a champ too. My favorite is the Uncle Mike's reinforced belt, though. I think it's actually better than most 3X it's price, because almost the entire circumference of the belt is covered by velcro instead of just a small 1" X 3" area.

  29.   I didn't say all of them are but many that I read about in news articals or hear about on the news are so radical that they will punish and ostracize any student for anything other than a liberal/socialist philosophy. Conservative speakers at college graduations are often heckled, even attacked by students, or even rejected to speak at all like Condoliza Rice because of student protest, and i'll bet some professors had something to do with that also.

  31.   What's incorrect about it? So a college degree makes one smart about everything? And, at least from what I hear and read, a majority of professors at least are flaming liberals. One thing a college degree gives alot of grads is a big ego.
    1 point
  32. Good!  Maybe more liberals will avoid moving here!   I agree that using a college degree as a measure of intelligence is unrealistic.  All that means is that a person managed to get into a college and persevere for four years (or more) to get awarded a degree.   I've know some folks with really low intelligence with degrees.  And I've seen some colleges with incredibly low standards for graduation.   I find it more interesting that TN had higher average SAT scores than eight of the others in the bottom 10.  While that is not an intelligence test, it is a more accurate indicator than college degrees.

  35. Hmmmm you can live in a state and make twice as much as a tennessean, but lose half of that income in taxes, tolls,High cost of living across the board,to where you can bank the same as the tennessean. What is the dumbest state? You can get 6 years of accredited education on outdated subject matter, pass the exams, barely, but still graduate.w that education walk into a job where you stay for 10 years only to be replaced by someone 12 years younger w the same 6 years for half of your salary. What is the dumbest state??? Or does tn have the 10th least amount of Mensa members or road scholars??? Meh I call BS on that one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 of course it ate my spelling.

  36. Everything they said.... screw extractor, slot it with a dremel, impact driver, drill the head out, penetrating oil... all of those work.     But there's the trick....   Japanese cars don't use normal Phillips head screws, they use JIS spec screws.  A standard Phillips head screwdriver doesn't fit them properly which results in stripped heads.  You need a set of JIS spec screwdrivers.  I've learned that many times while working on Japanese motorcycles.   http://www.amazon.com/Hozan-JIS-4-JIS-Screwdriver-3rd/dp/B00A7WAHTU

  38. Just for anyone who's interested, this site has two very informative reviews of different brakes. I think the set of photos in the second review tells the story. Tracking recoil patterns using a laser mounted to the gun shows what the effects actually are of each different brake. I'm always impressed when someone takes subjectivity out of the picture and finds a way to measure actual performance. http://www.multigunmedia.com

  40. Personally I watch whatever I want to watch without putting too much thought into it. The movies are entertainment and the actors are there to entertain not make a political statement. I do not try to think of actors as anything more than actors while on screen and most times off screen.

  47. If I'm reasonably well dressed and out eating I've started politely asking managers at places that are currently posted if they would like to change their mind to win a customer and get added to the "posted!" app as a non-posted alternative. I've had one business owner get angry b/c someone else had apparently stickered his business without asking him and one manager that removed the gunbuster while I stood there.(and it has stayed down) I've found that if they see the app and realize how easy it is for me to find a gun friendly alternative on the handy map and dine elsewhere(across the parking lot in some cases) that all of a sudden they don't so much like being on the list of restaurants I won't patronize. I've also talked to several that won't budge but I'm always very respectful of their opinions and thank them for taking the time to speak to a potential customer.

  49. It's always funny to me that these idiots rave about guns when they sell a product, when abused, has contributed to more injuries and deaths than personal firearms ever will. If he's been in business long he's probably allowed some drunk to leave his pub, get in their car and kill someone on the road or highway. People like him are stuck in this mentality like when Bob Costos made that moronic remark about how if a 250+ pound football player didn't have a gun he wouldn't have killed a 110lb woman, when in reality if that big football player hadn't been raging drunk and p!ssed at the world he most likely wouldn't have killed that woman. If he didn't have a gun he would have choked or beat her to death easily. I wonder what pub/bar/club/liqor store he was in getting drunk and mad before he killed her? The gun was just the tool, the booze was the trigger.
