  2. I made a personal decision years ago when some Hollywood actors like Rosie O'Doughnut and Alec Baldwin and some others went off on their anti-gun rants not to give a rats ass what they thought or had to say about my guns. They are just entertainers and nothing more, they certainly are not heros. One of the funniest comedy sketches I ever heard is when Clooney made his speech about how actors like him were somehow more enlightened to the world than everyone else, I never knew Clooney could be that funny. What was even more hillarious is he actually thinks that's true, I never knew Clooney could be such an idiot. Many of them, obviously Clooney have become dis-connected with reality and the world getting anything they want anytime and having idiots kiss their ass all the time. I guess that's where some of them get their opinion of regular working folk from the ones who cater to them and kiss their ass. I like watching movies and listening to music as much as anyone else, I have my favorite bands and actors and enjoy watching and hearing the perform but they are just people like anyone else, no more special or important than anyone else.

  3. Bought this old war horse Friday. I shot it yesterday and experienced some jams/stovepipes. It appeared that the slide was possibly not making it all the way back to eject the rounds...idk Neat old gun though... Has iron eagle proofs on the frame and slide as shown in the picture. 5. I'm not preparing for anything.....I'm already prepared.   I carry a handgun for the same reason there is a jack, spare tire, jumper cables, and flashlight in my truck. Just in case.   If I have reason to believe there will be trouble, I'll be somewhere else, or else I'll have a rifle.

  6. Or Obama.   I'd say Obama is the ugliest, for various reasons.   Second would be Obama as well.

  11.   Maybe. It just disappoints me a little when an actor or musician whose work I admire opens up his or her mouth and spews ignorance. It doesn't keep me from liking their work, however.

  12. I really haven't put that much thought into it. I carry a Glock 19 because I like it. She's reliable, has ample capacity for most situations, and easy to conceal.

  13. I have always been able to separate the art from the artist. If you can't, it's your loss, not the artist's.   And yeah, that even includes Jane Fonda.   - OS

  15. These Hollywood types don't need to make millions of dollars either...and I find it ironic that many of these people have made a portion of their money portraying violence on film...pathetic....

  16. He's an actor. I'm not terribly surprised and I don't particularly care. Rather hypocritical to play his roles, but that's nothing new.

  22. I work for a cell phone company and one of the demo phones got stolen.  Any other time, I would have been deeply upset. Hell, I might even try to beat the bastard. But allas, today was the perfect day. A group of people came in while we where busy and after a while left in a hurry. While security cameras help, this next bit threw me in a frenzied laugh. One of the suspects left "selfies" on two separate phones. And They where good too. Got all his tattoos and facial features without an issue. Even the metro officer shock his head at this. I cant wait for this guy to be caught. BTW, even tho this sucks and is a terrible incident, Im awed at the sheer idiocy demonstrated by the perpetrators. They even left a coffee mug.

  23.   Or from another country. The Middle and South West is becoming blue at alarming rate, and of course the far west already is. Once Texas turns, that's it for the presidency, no more Republicans, and likely Senators and most Reps from there too.   - OS

  27.   Better get busy vetting the stars, producers, directors, and perhaps sponsors of everything you might think you want to watch ... and then you can free up a lot of time, 'cause there won't be any that will likely pass muster!   Seriously, the art and the artist are almost always separate entities. Then there's folks like Michael Moore, though.   - OS

  31. I try to do the same, yet still feel like a hypocrite myself because supporting them by "paying" for their art gives them a louder voice. But the world would be a dull place without them, I agree.

  34. Wife has a PT-111 that's 100% reliable and fits her hands properly so she's well satisfied with it. As to Rossi revolvers...those made in the 1970's were overall good with occasional clunkers. Now? I have similar feelings on Taurus wheel guns of late vintage.

  35. Lessons to be learned! Thanks for posting the Rossi photos.   PS: My PT111 has performed flawlessly as well. Never had a Rossi ..................but it looks like a real adventure.

  36. Chris Rock can be pretty funny when he's not playing to a black audience. Then he can get just filthy. And that I don't consider funny. Yes, you can call me a prudish old fuddy-duddy if you like. I just don't see the need for every other word to be a curse or blasphemy. A good example...The movie Sabotage. That is one of the filthiest things I've ever heard. I thought with the cast, and my hero Arnold; it might be ok. But less than 5 minutes in and my wife is ready to walk out of the room and/or shut it off. So I stopped it. I did however finish it later, just out of stupidity, I guess. I really didn't want to completely degrade it without finishing. I really should not have though. It got no better. I know the use of obscenity is al invasive and totally pervasive in today's culture; but that doesn't mean I have to listen to it or like it.

  37. Thanks Spikehunter. I appreciate the information. Update...I bought a Rynite buttstock and forearm, that had an early model Contender frame with it. Now, I can leave one dedicated as a pistol, and the other as a rifle. I'm a "wood" guy, so the plastic stuff will take some getting used to...plus, it's feather light! That's ok for a .22 Hornet, but I'm just glad I'm not shooting some fire breathing caliber through it. I'll still keep my ear to the ground for a decent wood set, that's reasonably priced.

  41. Yes we do. They were in a fight in the car, the officer was injured and a shot was fired inside the car. That is not in dispute. I just could not care less if the thug was throwing up his hands somewhere between round 2 and round 6. If anyone decides to open carry in a protest against Police, I don't want to be anywhere around. One nutcase cranks off a round and bodies start dropping.

  42. Person A attacks, endangers, engages, advances harmfully toward person B. Whether person A is a cop, daughter, son, husband, wife, family member, smurf, whatever, and person B defends his/herself and person 1 pays the penalty of death or bodily harm, that is not brutality. Person A made the choice, and has to live or not live with the results.
